  1. Holy crap, the AI can be dumb. Mkv started the map by getting Palla in range of the healer and red mage. Guess what happens? I'm pretty sure the same thing happened when I brute forced the map with Ursula. For some reason, the AI prioritized buffing the healer when they could have had the axe cavalier smack Frederick and if he wasn't in range since I don't remember how far the axe cavalier could reach and if Frederick was actually safe on the tile he used Reposition on Ursula to get her out, Gunter and especially Olivia were in range. The healer could have attacked Olivia and had the axe cavalier hit her or something... Whatever.
  2. Well, I was able to break by previous record of ~3500 points from the previous weeks with 3904 points. Also, using bonus hero teams still stupidly works -- too lazy to actually build a team myself and it's kind of fun limiting myself to most of my units being bonus heroes. 4* F!Corrin, Olivia with Wings of Mercy 2 -- could have kept her Moonbow and equipped Ruby Sword, but I dropped them out of fear I'd deal with much stronger teams --, and Sharena and 3* Cecilia since I needed a green and she's been pretty reliable. Escape Route and Wings of Mercy are fun. :p No defense wins yet for this week, but I've somehow been able to get regular-ish wins with 4* F!Corrin, Oboro with Bonfire, Selena, and F!Robin with Gronnraven+ who I assembled a while ago 'cause I like them and it seemed like a decent team with good coverage even before I got Gronnraven+ for F!Robin... Just gonna have to wait to see. I have no idea how this team manages wins. Probably underestimating them heavily or I'm not seeing something.
  3. Oh, I was wondering why you were saying Zephiel was the only one she couldn't kill with a Luna. It was partially or would activate on the first. Yay, misreading stuff... Hey, man, 1 more kill is 1 more kill. :p And like you said, if at least Hone Attack 2 is available, it doesn't matter if she has DA, DF, or Luna. EVERYTHING DIES to our Perfect Bride (who refuses to show up so far in my summons even as her regular self). So... Hmm, I don't think it's playstyle, but that I'm considering gameplay outside of arena which usually will have +4 units and boosted stats. In those cases, I feel like bride Cordelia with DF would be really useful to cover other units even if she can KO many of them normally. I've had times where I kind of wished specials activated or didn't activate for certain situations and kind of wondered what if I had given Linde DF instead of DA. Even then, it's kind of fun to have 1 unit kill everything in arena. If we were considering playstyle, then it can sort of apply since I try to play cautiously, but also aggressively which is why I like bulky units and hard counters and walls like Selena. Just slowly picking off units one by one.

  5. I don't know, DF allowing bride Cordelia to be a back-up unit who can cover more units compared to with DA or Luna seems more helpful. Yes, you can use another unit or have a dancer give her another turn, but having her be plan B in case someone took too much damage or you don't have someone to cover a unit just seems worth it to me. That and timing since if you can kill 2 units normally with bride Cordelia, with a 3 charge, it would activate on the second kill which might not have been needed. With a 4 charge, you can save it for another unit with higher defense. If everyone is squishy and gets ORKO'd by her, well... :p Edit: Eh, I think it's just that for me, DA and Luna could be used on other units who get much more out of them and really wants them while bride Cordelia benefits from them, but not as much since she still covers a ton of units without them.
  6. Draconic Aura having fixed damage and bride Cordelia having the attack, especially if she's +Atk, to use compared to the other archers just seems more reliable than Luna for me. You pretty much will always know that she will do 15 damage, if +Atk, without attack buffs. Without an Attack seal, Luna does better against everyone with Fury. With DA, she gets 105 wins, 5 losses, and 24 draws when Desperation is not active and 107 wins, 8 losses, and 19 draws when it is. With Luna, it's 107 wins, 5 losses, and 22 draws and 109 wins, 8 losses, and 17 draws, respectively. But with an Attack seal, she gets the same results of 109 wins, 4 losses, and 21 draws when Desperation is not active and 111 wins, 7 losses, and 16 draws when Desperation is active. Even if she didn't have an Attack seal, having someone with Hone or Spur Attack could put her up there. And yeah, while coverage is great, you could use the other units you have on your team. Considering she normally KOs most of the cast with Fury 3 and DA and Luna only add at most, 8 wins -- without an Attack seal or special, she only gets 101 wins, 5 losses, and 28 draws -- while Dragon Fang adds in 32 wins with or without an Attack seal, DF seems worth it in my opinion or at least should be considered.

  8. Could Draconic Aura be interchangeable with Luna for bride Cordelia? Also, considering that without a special, +Atk, -Res bride Cordelia still gets 123 wins, 2 losses, and 9 draws or 124 wins, 2 losses, and 9 draws with Desperation active which is even better than what Gordin, Setsuna, Virion, and the used to be best archers Jeorge, Klein, and Takumi can manage by around +10 wins, you could just slap on Dragon Fang or even Aether for a larger damage boost to go against tougher units. If Dragon Fang activates, she gets 134 wins, 0 losses, and 0 draws while Aether gets 132 wins, 1 loss, and 1 draw. If everyone has Fury 3, bride Cordelia without a special only drops to the others' results against everyone without Fury 3; she sits at 106 wins, 4 losses, and 24 draws when Desperation is not active and 107 wins, 7 losses, and 20 draws when it's active. If Dragon Fang activates in this scenario, she gets 133 wins, 0 losses, and 1 draw regardless if Desperation is active or not. Running the same setup of Brave Bow+, L&D3, Desperation, Luna, and an Attack +1 seal, +Atk, -Def Takumi can only manage 92 wins, 2 losses, and 40 draws when Desperation isn't active and 93 wins, 7 losses, and 34 draws when it is active.
  9. Watching the free units strategies made me realize I could have used a flyer to bait the healer. That would have been so much safer! It wouldn't have been as stressful as keeping Ursula, the main damage dealer, alive with 7 to 4 HP after the initial hit and run against Camus with her. Arthur, a leveled up Narcian, or Titania could have dealt with Camus and Palla or Stahl and Olivia with Ruby Sword could have dealt with the axe cavaliers. Without them, the healer and red mage are easy pickings for Est or Subaki. Also, Cordelia or Hinoka if you have them.
  10. Just having it as an option is nice, though. That, and collecting skills. Gotta gatch 'em all. :P Ah, yes, Jagen... of whom I had 6 at one point, got annoyed, and sent one home. I still have 4 of him. Luckily, one of the later ones was a 4*, so I dumped Fortify Cavalry on Frederick since it's kind of cheap to get when Fredrick has Fortify Def. 199/200 units... Back to 199 units...
  11. Sweet, Camus gets Goad Cavalry as a 4*. That completes all the cavalry skills I can access -- it's like the game is handing out Horse Emblem stuff to us. Well, Reinhardt can get it, but he has to be a 5*. Meanwhile, flyer skills... Also, armor, but it's just Hector and Sheena I'm missing.
  12. Screw you, Camus GHB map! (Camus, though, is a cool guy.) Beat it with 3* +1 Frederick (+Atk, -Res) with a Brave Axe, Reposition, Fortify Cavalry, and a Spur Def seal meant for Ursula when she starts the map by hitting Camus, but didn't get used much after that; 4* Gunter (+Atk, -HP) with a Fortify Res 1 seal kind of meant for Frederick and Olivia if needed; 4* Olivia (neutral) with Ruby Sword, Moonbow, Wings of Mercy 2, and a HP +3 seal -- previous attempts had her get killed by the red mage who does 2 damage more than she can take if Olivia baits an axe cavalier after the initial hit and run --, and a 4* Ursula with Blarblade, R Tomebreaker 2, and an Attack +1 seal. Trial and error and feeling like I could beat this damn map lead to me using a stamina potion. Why the hell am I up in 3:16 in the morning!!!? Ursula did everything and by sheer stupid luck on the last enemy turn, the last remaining axe cavalier did not attack Frederick who I guess might have been out of range after using Reposition to get Ursula out of range. All he did was Rally the troubadour for some reason who only managed to hit Gunter -- I think it was Gunter -- for some damage. Whatever, his stupid self got blasted by Ursula and finished off by Olivia. And that stupid troubadour with Miracle. Could have finish her off with Frederick, but I smacked her with Gunter to crack Miracle. Eat that! Stupid freaking healer with Wings of Mercy and Miracle. -blade tomes are so busted, but so helpful. I have no idea how I would have done this map.
  13. Forgot Camus had Grani's Shield. To make it worse, the axe cavaliers have Grani's Shield too. 4* Michalis gets outsped by the axe cavaliers. Pump too much defense into him and the healer drops him down for the axe cavalier to finish him off. Would not be surprised if they did the same to break through Wary Fighter on Effie and Zephiel. Of course they do. Both axe cavaliers have Ward Cavalry and they have Pass. Gee, I was wondering when that would pop up. Red mage has Goad Cavalry... Camus effectively has 52 attack, 37 speed, 39 defense, and 25 resistance with Goad and 2 Ward Cavalry. You'd need to do at least 54 damage to 2 shot him.
  14. Huh, I just realized that I've never used Oboro for a GHB before and I don't think I can for Camus's map since she would only be there to counter the red mage which isn't a great thing considering she's -Res. I don't think I've used her for the other map challenges either.
  15. Hmm, that makes sense since Brave weapon users charge specials faster for both sides. Low(er) defenses 1-range Brave unit with Escutcheon and Guard. Charge up their special to mitigate damage and prevents their opponent from getting a charge that would muscle through Escutcheon. Abel, Hana, Peri, and Raven come to mind since Cain comes with Wings of Mercy, Navarre has Desperation by default, and Cordelia, Est, and Hinoka are flyers who have the advantage of being able to use Drag Back and Hit and Run more freely. Bulky, but slow Brave units with Guard. They can take hits, but the issue is they're slow, so they're getting doubled regardless. Gordin, Gunter, Hawkeye, Laslow, Lukas, Oboro, and Stahl come to mind. I don't want to spend a ton of stuff on Alfonse, so he's running Brash Assault with his default kit, Bartre has Brash Assault, Cherche is a flyer, despite being an infantry Donnel can work Drag Back, Effie probably wants to keep Wary Fighter, and Frederick comes with Wings of Mercy. 2-range units would probably be the same, but that's mostly archers and Olwen and Reinhardt. Not implying that you can't give those units Guard, but it might be more efficient to fill in empty slots. Also, units with legendary weapons and the stats to use Brave weapons work, but I just like keeping their legendary weapons. That's just me, though. Because it's kind of annoying when specials go through your units' defenses and WTA and they die. When I do it, it's hilarious, but when it happens to me, meh. Also, I like bulky units who can wall units so badly that it's kind of sad for them. Making it so they can't even get their specials to activate? Even better. :p
  16. I have 2 spare 4* Titanias. 1 of which has the same +Res, -Atk nature as the 5* one from way back. At the rate I'm going and with my dumb luck of getting greens, I'll have 5 of her by the next 2 summons. And I have 198/200 units. Sure, I could spend the orbs to increase my barracks space, but I'd rather just sack units for their skills. Guard would be better on Clair, Selena, whatever, but maybe, just maybe, I could just dump Guard onto Beruka, forget about it, and be at some peace of mind that I have 1 less goddamn unit cluttering my barracks because I'm bound to get another Titania and be annoyed that using her for her other skills would waste Guard despite how niche it is. The other problem is that Titania is a cavalier. If for whatever reason someone wants a unit like her, but as a flyer and a green one, then Beruka is probably the best option since it would be wasted on vanilla and Spring Camilla, Cherche, Michalis, Minerva, and Narcian.
  17. Y'know, I wonder if Guard would be good on Beruka. Michalis is the best user of the Flying Wall of Fire and Sharp Things out of the axe flyers. Even if he had the same base attack as Beruka, the fact he has Hauteclere is enough give him an advantage. +Atk Beruka has 32 attack which with Killer Axe+ puts her at 43 attack. If Michalis had 29 attack, Hauteclere still puts him above a +Atk Beruka at 45 attack and 1 under a neutral Cherche who'd have 46 attack. Beruka would have a slightly stronger Bonfire by 1 attack assuming the 5 points taken from his attack didn't go into his defense or something. +Res Beruka would have 25 resistance. 46 HP, 37 Def, and 25 Res is pretty bulky. Sure, she gets doubled to hell and back, but if you sit her on a defensive tile, she'd have 46 HP, 48 Def, and 32 Res. Emerald Axe would probably make her invincible to blues. Maybe something like Emerald Axe+, Ignis, Swap, *insert A-skill here*, Guard 3, and *insert C-skill here* on a +Res, -Spd Beruka. Iote's Shield could work since she'd take superficial damage from archers then. Bride Cordelia running Brave Bow+ would need to be +Atk with L&D3 to even crack pass Beruka with Iote's Shield on a defensive tile. Even then, she'd only do 2x4 damage. Otherwise, she'd do 27x4. Then again, why are you using Beruka or a 1-range flyer in general to bait an archer and especially one with a Brave Bow? Gonna have to check the numbers, but Guard Beruka could be a thing she does well. Then again, I doubt any of the other flyers even want to do it like Camilla would probably rather have Distant Counter and Quick Riposte to be a mage killer than a wall.
  18. Assuming none of the other units have Fortify or Ward Cavalry, F!Robin can one-shot Camus as a 5* with at least a Hone Attack 2 buff or as a 4* with at least T-Adept 2, Hone Attack 3, and an Attack +1 seal or someone with Spur Attack standing next to her. Alternatively, you could try two hits to take him out, but only 5* F!Robin escapes getting doubled without Lancebreaker or speed buffs. Once again, assuming no attack buffs from the other units for Camus, 4* F!Robin will take 13x2 without defense buffs or T-Adept dropping her to 11 HP. A Spur Def 1 seal lowers it to 11x2 and T-Adept 2 makes it so Camus only does 6x2 to her. If you're using Cain, Frederick, or Palla or have Wings of Mercy on someone like Olivia, having F!Robin take a lot of damage might be a good thing. You're gonna have to figure a way to get her out since she won't survive against the two axe cavaliers or the red mage. Anyone with Reposition or even Swap will do -- assuming whoever has Swap can survive against 4 units. I have a feeling I might end up using Est again. F!Robin deals with Camus, Olivia can deal with the axe cavaliers, especially with a Ruby Sword, same deal with Selena who also has Reposition, and I guess Est will take out the red mage and healer.
  19. Was Soren ever associated with a specific wind tome? I checked his page and he's a Wind Sage, so yeah, green mage makes sense. Not sure who'd be the one to use Rauorowl other than someone from Echoes, but that doesn't make sense for Delthea who can use Aura or Ragnarok, Luthier who's not good around people, and Sonya who apparently starts out with Excalibur? Never played Gaiden and don't have Echoes, so I don't know. The only one who I can think of would be Orochi since she's quite friendly to people, but it might make more sense for her and Hayato to introduce the animal spirit spells. Arvis, Aversa, and Lyon have their own tomes they're associated with, Canas and Knoll should introduce new dark magic or just have Fenrir+, and Erk, Lute, Miriel, Nyx, and Rhajat might not make sense with their personalities. Maybe Hugh or Pent? Both start with Elfire in their inventory, so they could be red fire mages. Pent would make sense if they introduce Louise alongside him which they will. Actually, it would make even more sense if you have him and his family.
  20. Oh yeah, I was wondering about that. I kind of expected M!Robin to be the Thoron+ mage, but nope, Takumi-killer M!Robin was what we got. I guess they could give it to someone like Gotoh, Olson, or the other people mentioned by Vaximillian. Y'know, I just realized something: none of the non-legendary tomes pass Steel level that have special effects are elemental. They're all constructs to borrow a term from the Lantern Corps: -blade, -owl, -raven, and -wolf. It makes sense since it simplifies things and it means less work for the developers, but at the same time, it would have been cool if, for example, -owl tomes were -bond tomes. So, something like Firebond, Windbond, and Thunderbond. The -bond suffix would imply its effect, the self-spur thing, and we'd have different effects for the tomes. Also, with the whole Lantern Corps thing, blue mages are powered by hope, green by willpower, and red... by rage. Quite fitting for some of the characters.
  21. Oh joy, it'd be like Ursula with Bolting all over again...
  22. Aren't there only 3 maps with lava? Also, Bear tomes letting mages stand on forests. Oh, wait, that negates the one problem of cavalry mages and is utterly useless for all the other mages. So, better not make that inheritable for mounted mages.
  23. I was thinking of something like if you have a Cat tome equipped, then you can stand on mountains while Dolphin tomes would let them stand on water. Note: "stand on". Does not mean you can actually move onto those tiles. :p
  24. Oh, yeah, that works. :p How about Cat tomes? Isn't Luthier's only friend a cat? Can't think of what they could do, though.
