  1. Enemy assassins with 0 strength? Don't think so. I will check my master's guide later and see if I find anything about critical damage for knives. My japanese is terrible though, so I'm not promising anything. :)
  2. I'm not sure on the specifics either, but it seems Knives do higher critical damage consistently. Wouldn't be surprised if the critical damage formula is slightly different for them.
  3. Derrick lives? Good. (Derrick is probably the most unpopular character in the game, but I like the poor guy). The turn system takes a while to get used to. But I think it's a superior system because it provides more depth. And avoids that old FE problem where a unit in a checkpoint keeps killing stuff while taking damage and eventually dies.
  4. I actually managed to see a bit of the second stream (Chapter 2-2 to be precise). I had to go because of internet issues, but did you kill Derrick (the axe armor guy that looks like a generic)? Before I was gone you were attacking him.
  5. "Maeda: In “Hoshido”, one can freely engage in battles and level up their units, and the victory conditions are very simple. On the other hand, “Hohr” has limited chances to gain experience and limited resources. The strategy revolves around “what is the best way to raise these units?” The victory conditions in battles vary, such as chapters with limited turns, or to attack/defend an objective, etc. It is much deeper tactically." And people were hopeful that Hoshido would have complex victory conditions. Hell, he even says that Nohr is much deeper tactically. As I've said, IS has been very clear on their intent when designing both versions. Don't get me wrong, I would like to see the Hoshido version on the same level of the Nohr version. But is obvious how IS thinks about the subject, and frankly, that's very predictable.
  6. I think it's valid and most likely true. Thinking from the dev's point of view, why use time and resources to create a world map that is going to be only used in one version? This system accomplishes the same goal while being cheaper and faster to make. Still, we shall see.
  7. Mousa looks fine to me. I also prefer it slightly over Muse.
  8. No problem, glad to help. Have you tried using this for character recruitment? http://serenesforest.net/wiki/index.php/Berwick_Saga_Recruitment
  9. By default the game should be only showing you battle animations for boss / important enemy battles. The animation settings are in page one of the options screen. There should be 6 tabs at the top. On page 1, the first option allows you to reset things to default. Select it once, then pick the second option. I suggest doing this just to make sure most things are configured properly. The second option (with 4 choices) controls animation. From left to right: Everything - Battle only (no healing / support magic) - Boss only (default) - No animations Note that you can invert the current config by confirming a battle with the square button instead of using the circle button. For example, in the default option, you can see battle animations for normal enemies by using square, and skipping animations for boss battles by doing the same. Another 2 options that I like to use are disable by default: - On page 1, the third option from bottom to top activates the highlight of attack hexes. By default the game will only show movement (this was the same in Tear Ring Saga) - On page 2, the second option from bottom to top will show the area of effect for some skills, such as Reese's Commander (improves hit rate for units in a 3x3 area) Not sure what you mean by details, it should always show them before battle.
  10. I don't know much japanese, but since I know the game fairly well, I can help if you get stuck.
  11. Considering I know very little Japanese, yes. If you use the resources available in the wiki (thank you based Othin!) and is not afraid to fiddle with the menus, it should be playable. I would also be glad to answer any specific questions.
  12. Berwick Saga is Kaga's "perfect" SRPG, at least to me. It's significantly better than all FE games. I strongly recommend playing it.
  13. Since he got sued by Nintendo One thing I'm not surprised is the difficulty of finding good pixel art artists. It's a dying art, even in Japan.
  14. Return of the king. I wonder if he couldn't re-use the assets from Berwick Saga... probably not. Everything in that is probably copyrighted by Enterbrain. I really hope this works out.
