  1. This has been quite informative, thank you jealousy.
  2. Other palettes work just fine; the first one I found here, though I admit the second one seems different now than it did this morning. Perhaps it simply looked better to me when I was still waking up, but it does look pretty bad now. At any rate, I will certainly accept these other skin tones, thank you. I attempted to find skin tone references on the forum, but perhaps my post-fu is not as strong as it once was. Should it come to it and I find myself in need of these palettes for a project, would you be alright with my using them? And if so, under what name do you prefer to receive credit? I am unfamiliar with this forum's procedure for such things. EDIT for a question: Why do your palettes have 5 colors? I thought skin tone only used four.
  3. So I began working on a dark skin palette before hearing about Blind Archer's skin tone set, and even after having seen it, I still take enough satisfaction in the one I came up with that I decided to share it. It is more of an olive tone than the only other dark-skinned palette I have seen (as you can see, I put them side-by-side for reference) and I feel it looks sufficiently "real" to merit use. If anyone has any suggestions on how I might improve it, I would appreciate them; whether it is too dark, has too much/too little saturation, etc. Thank you for your consideration.
  4. As I said, it might have simply been misinformation. I can't seem to find it anymore, which is depressing. But if no such stat exists, then perhaps Luk->Mag, Con->Luk is my only recourse. If calculating Weight AS loss via Strength is known to cause such problems, I might just follow my own suggestion and remove it entirely. That, fortunately, is easy (if tedious) to achieve in Nightmare. The hardest part about it would be rebalancing things to account for the change, but that was going to be an issue no matter what I did. Thanks for the help everyone. I might not have gotten exactly what I wanted, but having a course of action allows me to plan ahead and work towards it.
  5. I was under the impression that FE6 included Con growth, but that it was altered to be 0% for all characters in the final version; I had assumed this carried over to FE7, as it seems to be rather heavily based on the former. This may all be misinformation, and it would be most unfortunate to learn that this was not the case, but I would be grateful just to learn that it is possible to provide it growth through other means. My primary reason for wanting to do this is to create units which can utilize both physical and magical attacks, and have separate stats for them (in the style of FE9 and forward). I suppose one might also remove weapon weight entirely to level the playing field, as NME and Awakening did. But as I said before, I believe it best that I take things one step at a time.
  6. Hello, serenesforest forums. I am CitizenApathy, an aspiring modder/ROM hacker. I will admit that most of my reasons for being here are to take advantage of resident hackers' knowledge of the craft, but I hope that we can become friends all the same. For those of you who also engage in hacking, please allow me to extend what little expertise I have available to me on your behalf; although I am quite inexperienced at maneuvering Nightmare/FEditor Adv/etc, I have some experience in sprite editing and a reasonable amount of experience in writing and editing. As I am new to the game, I would be more than happy to render what assistance I can. In any case, thank you all for having me!
  7. Hello, FE hacking community. I humbly beseech you: is it possible to alter the game to allow Constitution to stand in for Strength and the old Strength stat to be reserved solely for Magic? That is to say, is it possible to give Constitution a growth rate, and have damage be keyed to it, on top of its role in determining AS? I understand that this may be a difficult task, but it is something I would like to pursue if there is any possibility, and I will admit that my current knowledge of ROM hacking is limited by inexperience. I am currently invested simply in redirecting the numbers; battle menu hacking is a bridge I will cross when I come to it, once the back-end work is completed. Thank you in advance for considering my question, and I hope I am not being too presumptuous by asking it before introducing myself to the community at large.
