  1. NA announcement? ^Wait til e3, and in the meantime, enjoy the kirby 20th anniversary collection, says Nintendo...
  2. HP+1 is being sarcastic... Here is the correct list of european languages...
  3. Then again, Jap ratings mean nothing considering some games were rated differently than other regions' counterparts, according to this: ^ Who knows how ESRB will rate this considering the chatter, unless I'm mistaken, about fe13 probably being "possibly too hot to survive the states' censors". If this game is released stateside, who knows if the NA version will be the only fe to actually receive either a M, or, at worst, an AO rating, due to "reasons that are deemed inappropriate to some countries, due to differences on game culture with the target culture", such as possible character actions, how dark the game's nature is in contrast to others of its kind, etc., that may or may not be deemed appropriate in the country of concern, sending potential players a message that is in contrast to those the esrb wants players to witness while playing, and if and when, and only if and when, the esrb finds, in terms of this game, the above reasons are actually demonstrated in the right amount to warrant an esrb rating of M or worse, I'll be surprised, as the above two possible ratings will hurt fe13's NA sales, and not to mention the fact that very few nintendo first-party titles are rated M or AO, so this will be an unfortunate first if the esrb chooses to rate awakening in a fashion that makes retailers worry about children seeing controversial content... ^Of course, I may have misinterpreted the content, but here's hoping for a T rating(the US equivalent of CERO's B, which is Jap fe13's rating) if it comes to NA...So far, chatter, but no official facts, in terms of this game's "american cultural appropriateness", which is determined officially by esrb rating(although some unreleased games and/or games not rated by esrb are revealed later in an unofficial manner to contain elements that are inappropriate to american culture(such as FE4 with the incest element revealed at game's end), although others are deemed appropriate, but the publisher chose not to release them to america nonetheless(such as FE12 with the dying DSi/XL as of jap release time), if no official confirmation from esrb is evident, it's harder to find out with 100% accuracy whether or not such games are appropriate for american culture). Looking forward to seeing if the chatter is logical or not in the form of said facts...
  4. ^ ...Because they don't count sales of every store, but rather count a select few stores, that statement is true, but since those numbers are good enough for success nonetheless, it implies that the "uncounted copies" would likely make this game "phenominal" in sales, even if the "little picture" doesn't tell the whole story...
  5. Xenoblade's US progress ^ Keep it up, Americans, and maybe NoA will release fe13 sooner rather than later... ^ Anyway, judging from the current NoA pace, I think that NA fe13 may come out early next year(during the january/february period), or during the late stages of holiday season of this year(aka December), but likely '13, however, I won't be disappointed if it doesn't come out at all, because of the fact that at least we have an english version of any form this time, and at the same time, I'll be more happy when NoA announces a date to release it in NA and keeps their word in terms of date when it comes out in stores...
  6. If fe13 doesn't make it to NA in its current form, I won't panic, as long as the UK is a member of the European continent, as long as it doesn't change its language from English, as long as FE13 doesn't get released only in non-English Europe, there's may always be room to buy a European 3ds, just to play english fe13. At least I know that my American charger works without bad side-effects on a European 3ds.. ^ However, if I have to buy the game from europe, that means the game and/or system's warranty is void due to region differences between game and/or hardware maker(as in this case, if it is revealed to be true, it would be NoE, as if fe13 doesn't make it to NA, then that means that NoA can't sell the game to NA markets, so NoA would not be the maker in that scenario) and buyer(or whoever bought the game), which is disappointing.
  7. Well, come to think of it, after noticing your posts, I noticed something that I admit that I missed at time of my previous posts: Description of individual weapon by what the game tells you.. Thank you for the example...
  8. Rapier is NOT counted into magic mechs, because it's a weapon that's not a magic type... If the rapier is a magic type, then wouldn't it do less damage in normal conditions, as it would involve Mag, rather than Str? What does count into magic mechs is no more and no less than: 1. anima magic, 2.light magic, 3. dark magic, and: 4. staves(has its own magic category) ^ My point is that as the aforementioned non-staves(1-3) categories were combined into one category in FE11 and FE12, rather than three different types in addition to staves, super-effective bonuses involving magic tomes are not possible, but those influenced by Str are still possible in those games, and judging from the scan that Vincent posted, until someone proves otherwise, until the time that moment comes, I have to assume that FE11 and FE12's super-effective system is the same as FE13's... Give me an example that involves magic categories like those mentioned here that does super-effective damage to one or more groups of units without the help of any kind of a magic triangle, then I'll believe you...
  9. In other words, if magic tomes are one(or two, if you count staves)category rather than three plus staves, then: FE13 magic mechs = FE11 and FE12 magic mechs. ^In FE11 and FE12, dragons take normal damage by thunder because of no magic trinity to differnate the magic tomes. If FE13 dragons are the same way, then no wonder thunder didn't do as much damage to dragons as it did to FE9-10's dragons... ^ Am I right?
  10. ...In other words, same skill system as FE9? ^ If it's true, then if Pursuit is a DLC-only skill for Ayra, since you can't move/swap it to another character, do you think that it is a downer in case you want non-DLC chars to have the skill Pursuit?
  11. One thing I noticed on the "Classes" section regarding the "trickster" class: I wonder if that likely settles the "Marth: real or imposter?" question...
  12. Prepare the NOA fanmails if US FE13 isn't announced next month... ^ Because fe11, the last stateside fe release, was announced approx. 6-7 months after fe11's Japanese release announcement, assuming my calcs are correct for fe13, if May starts w/o fe13 announcement, then it becomes the best time(in chances of success) to crank up the fanmail and try to find out their proposed e3 agenda, and the games and/or franchises featured on there: if fe13 is not on there(unless they plan something big for Wii U for 2013 that involves sending the fe titles yet to be released stateside, including fe13, stateside all in one disc, which is highly unlikely) it could be proof that unless drastic fan buying habit changes are taken, although not 100% DiA(dead in america), it's still more likely that america could miss out on a new fe again... Now, back to topic... I will be a little bit disappointed if they take out the rescue command for fe13, then again, rescuing didn't exist in FEs 1-4, so it could be back to a little old-school fe, which I would like had they actually made it out of japan, although fe1 arenas are a little too old-school (in a sense, as it discourages arena abuse(a trick used in later FEs), as you cannot do that in fe1 as there's no way to yield in that game, so once you make a gold wager in one of fe1's arenas, there's no turning back until you defeat the enemy, or you die and lose a unit, plus gold wager)...
  13. Good information, Tangerine... But seriously, directly posting a work of art, like an image, that belongs to someone else, without their consent? If anyone commits such an action, they could be also be punished under copyright law... ...and FYI, copyright law violations are a major crime almost everywhere. You could face an intelligence services investigation, go to jail for 5 years, fined a fortieth of a million dollars, and a mark on your criminal record, all for committing the violation, if you get caught doing so... ^Source of above facts ^ Since this is a fire emblem site, playing the games on the emulator won't get you in trouble from you guys, but if you try it, the gamer is responsible for making sure that doing so isn't against the law of the entire region of residence, but when it comes to other things that infringe on other people without their say-so, that should result in a 2 week ban, and if the cyber police catches the offender, the offender's ban should be upgraded to a permanent ban, just so we don't look biased against the cyber police...
  14. ^ Thanks for the reassurances... Scare posts like those shown on this page by some members sure made me feel a little confused and in need of reassurances like that... Time to wait a little more for the answers to the future of fire emblem in the non-Japan world, and see if the founders of the scare posts are proven correct... edit: Thank you, Shadow Stalker X and HP+1 for confusing and scaring me this early... Don't mean to accuse, in case my perceptions are illogical, but I thought that you made those statements without recognition that the question may already be answered in the FAQs and stickies, which made me feel like asking the members a little bit regarding whether or not the given answer that, at this point in time, it is illogical to get worried early about fe13 and other games in localization uncertainty, whether the games in question were recently localized outside America, confined to Japan, or even just announced, is still relevant at this time... Oh, and by the way, about the "bias": That statement was based on frustration regarding my interpretation of some posts at the start of this page, so maybe I stretched my logic too much in that frustration. I was unsure whether what they said was logical at the time the statements were made. But now, I wonder that's enough. Did I make a major boo-boo? Maybe I should edit the "bias" out... ^ deuxhero, thank you for the prompt...
  15. Vincent, only one of the trailers mentioned were not announced at e3: 1: List of upcoming nintendo games announced at e3 ^ No Mario Tennis there... :( 2: List of games advertised in trailer that are coming to 3DS in near-term ^ Mario Tennis: the only new title listed that was not announced at e3 this year... Speaking of the lack of fire emblem in eShop trailers, unless the "new game factor"(meaning more work and time is needed to translate the game), which wasn't evident in FE:SD(worldwide) and NM(JP only) because those games were released previously for a previous console, explains the lack of FE above, I'm already worried, far too soon... Exclusions like this make me feel sorry for what Fire Emblem is going through right now... If the future is being hinted at, please give me a likely answer to this question to ease my worries, as well as what you think about it: What do you think is NoA waiting for to release a localized version of fire emblem, whether it's NM or this one? A significant monetary loss that forces them into straits so dire that their hopes of staying in business rests with the sales of one potentially final game? I don't mean to bash or accuse Nintendo of anything, but unless there is a reason such as translation and analysis in terms of what elements to cut in potential localized version, what lines to alter, etc., to justify waiting for it without feeling the need to take vocal action to help it to localization and/or release, do you think someone important in NoA could be biased against JRPGs, costing them major sales in the process? Can you come up with two reasons to explain it? If the aforementioned question is anyone else's question, do you think this answer is the most likely logical one?: ^ The above would be my answer if the question was asked by someone else, but do you agree with that potential answer? I hope that my answer does not become fact, but 3D or no, I believe that if the lack of FE:3DS trailer is any indication of the future, although it's too early to tell the tale for this version of Fire Emblem, those outside Japan should prepare to be forced to learn Japanese if they ever want to play any future Fire Emblem installments, because if the above lists tell the tale, and Nintendo's non-Japanese branches won't release this and future FE installments via legitimate channels outside of Japan due to perceived bias against JRPGs, then as a result, even if they sell well, NoA will keep missing the profits in the process...
  16. I wonder if they were busy with a combination of Kirby's Epic Yarn and 3DS in the states at the point where they could've started localization if not for Ninty being so short on workers, meaning they had to single one game out to conserve manpower, but by the time significant amounts of workers became open, they found out that the DSi was running short on time left in lifecycle due to 3DS, so they decided to not localize it thinking "this is not a way to ensure that the DSi goes out with a bang, as this game is not an American hardcore sales magnet that could milk what's left of the DSi, with the handheld's fate uncertain with the 3DS out, with the DSi's D/C date dependent on when sales drop with demand, but while we wait for a perfect time to D/C it, we must milk what's left of it by making hardcore titles with less-than-normal frequency, and even if it's still selling, this game will milk it too much and will certainly make the DSi go out with a whimper"... ^ Given the above, with the uncertainty of the DSi's lifespan, maybe by the time their hands were untied in terms of how many projects they have to work on, Nintendo thought the DSi is near its deathbed, and doesn't want to waste development money by trying to localize Fire Emblem 12 when they don't know when demand for its intended platform will fall along with its sales, so I assume they don't want to be caught by surprise, in case the DSi's demand and sales fall far enough for Ninty to pull the DSi out of the shelves... ^ Of course, it's just my opinion, and I don't believe that it is a fact, when there could be many reasons why no localization of FE12 is happening at this time...
  17. Coming to Japan in 2012 for 3DS... Since I can't read japanese that well, what do you see about it? ^ I see NM is not coming to America after all... edit: I remember that they were bringing back the Map mode, judging from screenshots...
  18. Franz - Great Knight Gilliam - Great Knight(Amelia(General) + Higher Speed growth rate + Supports > Gilliam(General)) Vanessa - Falco Knight(1 stat point less than Wyvern Kn. is not significant enough to give up the ability to use swords and Triangle attack) Moulder - Bishop Ross - Berserker(Additional 15% critical helps utilize his potential) Garcia - Warrior(Ability to use axes and bows with 1 more Def. stat point at cap > Ability to use axes and swords with more hit %) Neimi - Ranger(Higher Mov. and Swordmaster-level Speed > Sure Strike) Colm - Rogue/Assassin(Depends on how much you are willing to give support boosts to Rennac, as without them, Rennac's crit. evade will let him down, and Rouge Colm will outclass him, but as long as Rennac has supports that increase his avoid, crit evade, and attack, Colm's promoted class will be a tough choice that depends on player preference) Artur - Bishop(Slayer and high M.Res.> High magic and more hit %) Lute - Sage(Mage Knight for Lute is made unnecessary by L'Arachel, who is a better Mage Knight, in my opinion) Natasha - Bishop Joshua - Swordmaster Forde - Great Knight(High Def. and Con. > Paladin) Kyle - Great Knight Tana - Falco Knight Amelia - General(see Gilliam for reason) Gerik - Hero/Ranger(Choose by Preference)(Higher Mov. and Swordmaster-level Speed > Hero, but since Neimi(Ranger) outclasses Gerik(Ranger), judging by your preference in terms of what class Gerik should promote into becomes the best suggestion) Marisa - Swordmaster/Assassin(Circumstance-based)(If Colm is a Rouge, then Assassin is suggested. But if you chose to support Rennac enough to offset his weak stat areas, then Swordmaster, although Joshua outclasses Marisa in that department) L'Arachel - Mage Knight Ewan - Druid(only Druid in game other than Knoll, who doesn't count as a Shaman in my book because Knoll's stats are worse than acceptable when it comes to what is expected from good Druids: strong enough Magic and some other stats to deal massive damage with Luna) Cormag - Wyvern Knight Knoll - Summoner(Stats not good enough to justify promoting to Druid)
  19. You meant pokemon yellow came out a month before gbc came out? At any rate, you meant one month before the time the release date announcement from nintendo for the 3ds was made, fire emblem: new mystery was released in Japan, did you? Because if you didn't, judging from the data on web, you would be... *buzzer* WRONG! ...oh, and that is not a true connection...
  20. My favorite Canto-wielder is Haar, who despite his tendency to take naps while flying, he enjoys noticing no damage from non-Wyrmslayer-wielding physical units, as well as lots of power to use against them. Ironically, despite being a flyer, he is not weak to bow-users in this game as he was in PoR, but his weakness to Thunder magic, which existed in PoR, is still with him in RD. Since Haar has, and a greater likelihood to get, massive speed, the third-tier, and wider availability in this game, in contrast to his late entry into the player side(PoR Ch. 24(including prologue chapter) vs. RD Part II-Ch.P), no way to promote a second time due to the level coding limiting fighters to only one class change past unpromoted status, and since Haar comes promoted, no way to promote at all, and since that means he stops at level 20/20, without Speedwings, since his speed stat caps at 26, and he enters the player side in PoR with 17 speed, he has an inability to cap Speed unless it increases speed every level up he can possibly get until he reaches level 20(meaning he cannot get a level-up that doesn't increase his speed, or else he'll need speedwings if he wants any chance of capping speed at all), and limited opportunity to reach a "pseudo-RD" level(no third-tier, meaning, for non-laguz units, no stats beyond 30 save HP, which does not go past 60, and Luck, which does not go past 40), in PoR. ^ Despite his shortcomings and benefits, I like his tanking abilities and personality in RD....
  21. Release dates for all(?) upcoming DS games revealed(with FE12 absent) ^ :( ...Time to brush aside the thought of the sequel to the Shadow Dragon game coming to America without a fight or two directed at Nintendo with the purpose of helping to get it there. :( EDIT: Of course, the above is true unless an unexpected surprise(don't want to totally break the bad news, in case most of you still are hoping) occurs by the end of Nintendo's 2011-12 fiscal year(which ends after March 2012), however, that is not likely to happen. Outside of that, feel free to either fan-translate or complain to Nintendo, as it looks(almost?) certain that FE12 is not going to make it out of Japan under legitimate means in terms of the non-Japanese markets... :(
  22. Normally, it would be true, but given the time constraint set by the power of the 3ds succession announcement, combined with Nintendo's focus on pokemon and their new hardware, they may not have the manpower to multi-task to get everything done, so they may have to skip some tasks to focus on more important stuff, but had they possessed sufficient employee numbers, then not only NM would have appeared at e3, given the dates announced for other games there, but they might not have to be busy focusing on their new hardware, but it would be logical for them to switch to NM with the additional employees after they finish pokemon, meaning it's likely that e3 could be the last realistic opportunity for NM, as they won't likely have enough time to release it as-is, or without the power of the 3ds port-plus-final-licensed-predecessor-release(just like Twilight Princess, which was released on the Wii first, then the NGC as the final licensed game for that platform in Japan, with a couple 3rd-party games released elsewhere afterward before it was D/C'ed), before the console fades into the history books as D/C'ed, but that does not mean the death of fire emblem for the non-Japanese, or at least as a whole, and who knows if the next FE to come stateside would be FE13, provided no fan campaign is successful in changing that, of course...
  23. Well, there's also this, but it's live, so I don't know if it's current, but if you want all companies: http://www.gametrailers.com/netstorage/e3/e3-live.html
  24. It's almost time for the e3 conference! In approx. 1 minute plus five minutes of filing-in time, we'll begin to find out if there's an international release of NM likely in the cards! edit: one last order of business? Wii U? No NM on E3 so far? Likely near end of presentation? Complaining time, anyone?
  25. Is NOA dumping DS1? Or is an E3 miracle brewing? ^ At this rate, by the time FE12 is confirmed for the USA, if at all, it will be at E3, but an actual releases date? Most likely, it will be just like Thracia to Japan in its day: the "true swan song" game for the product it's made for... By "true swan song", I mean last game ever to be released for the intended handheld... And the most likely month for release? I hope this is not the case, but if NOA's habits, according to the above link, tell the tale for the future, it might be released sometime during the window of the "true holiday season" 2011 period, which spans from post-Thanksgiving November, to early December, of 2011, which I project to be the timeframe in which the DS1(Regular, Lite, i, and LL/XL), the handheld it would be most likely be intended for use on(unless NOA decides to port it to 3DS(which I doubt they will)) might be on its last gasp, and I believe that means that the Christmas Eve week shipment will be the last-ever shipment of DS1 systems, meaning once the calendar flips to 2012, you'll never see a DS1 in a retailer that only sell new games and new systems ever again...And I sure hope that it doesn't have to come down to as nearly that point before we see FE12 finally come stateside, if it ever does... If I don't see it by E3, whether it's game previews or other media that confirms the game for release, then I could say:"Time to launch a SOFEG campaign to tell NOA to localize the newest Fire Emblem. Complain to NOA and say "No FE12 release makes no sense to gamers, and unless you change your mind to give us FE12, we won't buy your products from other genres until you decide to release New Mystery to US shores. That's our word!". I may not be a good leader of a group, let alone a fan--based one, at least at this point in time, but I sure hope it doesn't have to come down to that...
