  1. FE4 : our Dastard. I just can't understand people hating him with fiery passion for "what he did to Sigurd". I mean, the whole ruling class of Grandbel was "meh" and the whole Loptyrian persecution was actual. Apart from deeming those as "superstitious nonsense" I can't imagine Siggy playing in their favour. Contrary to Seliph who saw the scriptures at Yied and no longer held any hate for Arvis (after having diced him to ribbons though. Easier to forgive a dead man than an alive Dastard). FE5 : Dastard's bastard Amalda, the whole ordeal with "I can't let my soldiers die" is a nice touch to the series, rather than just switching sides and exterminating your once comrades (even for the sake of a heron pet Oliver) and is better played than the Marado loldiers with Fiona. Plus the Paladin can see actual fight, with good ranks and has a LS star (just like the Lord!). Plus she helped Ralph. FE6 : Saul, even if I still can't understand how a man wearing puny robes can avoid better than a certain myrmidon I know (granted with Bartre's genes). And he brings funny to the cast. FE7 : nostalgia rings, but I'd say Pent. A potent Sage with great bases and great Staff rank, destroying bandits (and stealing your items and xp). Too bad he doesn't appear in FE6 (how's that it was done before this one?) because his children are disappointments compared to him. (WHY NO SILVER HAIR?) FE8: Moulder. Facial hair. 9 con. 11 con when promoted to Bishop. Mustache Demon Slayer. FE9 : Naesala? Sure, he was not who you would pick as reinforcment for the final chapter but even without his Radiant Dawn incarnation he was pretty much the guy who would do anything for his country, selling his friend. We didn't know at that time the dire state of affairs of Kilvas but he mentionned "wanting to develop his country" or something like that. Still, he does what he does for Kilvas (what a dastard!). The only thing FE10 added to his character was the kick-ass battle theme. FE10 : Chuck, or as he goes by his alternate name, Nolan (what sense of style, he has a purple... reverse appron thing as a Reaver, delightful. Top tier manliness here, for Chuck.) FE 11 : "I am Wrys, a humble priest. I cannot fight, but this staff I carry can heal your wounded.Take me with you, and you’ll be very glad you did." You can't beat wisdom from NES era. True Wisdom of Ages here. FE 13 : Err... DLC Dastard? I'll go with the majority and place Virion here, he has supposed backstory and is more than what is seems. He is the guy who trashes Robin, the so-called tactician at chess. Even if he sacrifices his soldiers, that's war (boat on fire somebody?). Too bad his class and reclasses are so... Well.
  2. I don't know if this can be counted as a gaming advice, but save before placing your cursor on Heroes (or Mercenaries as they're called in this game) of chapter 22 and beyond. Else the game freezes (or remains blocked for a loong perdiod of time). I don't know if it depends in your emulator or your patch, but I was using the usual one with snes9x and cried a lot. Other than that, enjoy.
  3. One still has to wonder about Julia having Rally Movement. Just... why? Why not miracle or renewal (doesn't she get those with her magical circlet)? And why Reidric's getting Pavise AND Aegis (for the Lopt Sword) whereas Julius doesn't get anything (if Dragonskin is locked to enemies only) to symbolize Lopt's power? Pay attention to detail while ignoring the obvious is... passable. It's like they tried to do something right but failed in application. I mean, Seliph's getting charm/charisma to show his 3/2 LS ingame, and yet Cyas only has Rally Spectrum. But I guess Ced having Avoid+10 is supposed to represent lolsety bonuses, so yay for paying attention to lolsety and rofl for ignoring Loptyr.
  4. (By the way, isn't the rule that a Major Blood holder will always have Holy Blood carriers but it fails to get inherited when a Minor breeds? Like in Hilda and Andrei's cases?) I do hope it is a bit different for Loptyr blood, otherwise Manfroy would have been greatly disturbed if Cigyun who comes 56(random number) generations after Maira failed to get it. (I found Cigyun's children, now they just have to- Wait how's that they don't bear Loptyr blood?! Curse you Nargaaaa!) Loptyr transmission should be a sort of plot point, like Linoan's Naga blood since her family comes from a line of Naga descendants, the old man in Chapter 21 says they are direct descendants of the Holy Warrior, we have nearly 40(random again) generations between Heim and Linoan here so it could have vanished way earlier and never did. He didn't know about Seliph but would that mean that the words spoken to Arvis were void? Azmur words, as misguided as they are, are the only official transmission of the title of Grandbell's ruler In modern eras we could argue that Azmur was saying nonsense because he ignored Seliph's existence, and yet Arvis relied on this nonsense to name Julius as Prince of Grandbell. Hence, the misinformation could be overlooked provided Arvis was acting in good faith (which he was obviously doing). I know I am trying to stretch the thing a little bit, but the main point is that even if FE4 plot tries to show that Seliph is the right ruler of his Kingdom, you could argue more or less honestly that it might not be the case, and it is totally not since Julia is but well... You can argue with FE4's data and with FE5's (Tahra rulers are direct descendants of Holy Warrior Heim) that a Baldo Major, even if he has Minor Naga shouldn't get to rule over Grandbell. Still, if we follow Seliph's logic, Galzus should be Isaach rightful King.
  5. Arthur: Now that I killed everyone who could pose a threat to my ruling of Freege, I will kill everyone who doesn't support me as the rightful Duke! Besides, there is no one else left so, why shouldn't they appreciate me? Or, if Arthur inherits something else say... Edda : Corpul, come here a second, I have some family murdering to do. Dozel : Johan/Johalva, let's have a chat, with my Toron spell doing the talking. Velthomer : Time to wipe out every Fala desce- oh shit who the hell is Cyas?. Silesse : Now I am sure there isn't anyone trying to usurp my claim. Funsies done, I would like some : Seliph/surviving axe bro support, or even base conversation about how it feels "to kill your brother", prior to the ending chapter. It was lampshaded by Azel in the First gen to be something really horrible to kill a relative, maybe Seliph wouldn't care because he never knew Julius but it would add more depth to the axe bros besides fawning over Lakche. And a convo between Raquesis and Deirdre, about witch hunts of Augstry against Loptyrians, not that Deirdre would reveal everything but ask about it... Still, I wonder how it could be for children characters, because dialogue could change/improve/decrease following their genes, I mean Skas Ulster could have some convo with an axe bro going differently if he is Lex's son or Holyn's we all know how Isaac deals with a surplus of Crusaders anyways. It could go from "why are you doing this to us, especially women" to "I fought against my uncle, is murdering your family a thing in Granvalle? Because in Isaac, it is not I do not know about the rumored Galzus". Fallacy is the paired ending without any supports, hence the compulsory Dagda and Marty convo, to answer to us all rabbid shippers, why is he "The man whom Dagda loved" and there isn't any convo like Othin and Tanya when you pick Marty to rescue Dagda from Gomez to flesh it out in-game. A pity. The support could give some +1 build to each other provided they're adjacent? Manfroy's depth could be found through Sara (she could maybe explain why he will become senile and won't kill Julia instead of locking her in a dungeon for latter brainwash), but the only person with whom I could find Cyas discussing about himself (even if Grandpa Coen told him to keep his heritage a secret) would be either with Ced (but you can't have them in the same chapter!) or with August (and that would mean choosing him over Ced). Maybe Leif could have a convo with Salem, after all the mage writes a book at the end of the war about the Loptyr Church so he might know about their gradual rise to power. Alvis spin-off, never, only to avoid that (slightly modified with italics and Alvis' name replaces Sigurd's in this convo of chapter 1)
  6. If it is about legitimacy, then Deirdre shouldn't have any relevance because she was illegitimate, and the more or less legitimate Naga heir would have been Linoan, without taking into account Major Blood, but if we take it into account then Seliph should surrender the throne to Julia... And never does. I'm not sure what approach FE Jugdral takes with inheritence, but it is messed up. If Julia gets a male child with Major Naga, I am pretty sure he wouldn't take the throne for Seliph's own son would have a non negociable claim on it, because he is Seliph's son, and we don't care anymore about Naga blood. The situation arising if they don't breed together that is... I sort of find it ironic that Seliph wants Jugdral to break free from Crusaders and God-dragon's worship when his claim on the throne is based on his Naga blood. Maybe it is intentional, his child won't inherit major Naga and it would be a fraud to under the old system to have him inherit the throne. Not sure if it is true, Aida isn't simply the woman whom Arvis slept with, but it is said in narration of chapter 5 of FE4 and mentioned by Dorias she was Arvis' advisor/confident/right-hand person. If he really had messed up relationship with women, why take one as his second? Besides, for a Duke who is supposed to "hate" women, Velthomer army had two female ranking officers, Vaha and Aida. Apart from Silesse, I don't recall any army having such a high female quota. I interpreted the quote from designers, made before Cyas even existed as something said to point out Deirdre's uniqueness by showing down our throats that Arvis really loved her. Really. Really! Or maybe you meant by "messed up relationship" that he couldn't get a fiancée/wife to which I would say that getting one of his general/friend/whatever pregnant and not acknowledging their son could fit the mold, but what about keeping her in this position long after the incident? It looks like they broke up but remained on good terms , in a modern sense (I wouldn't trust the woman I dumped to betray Leptor and bringing Sigurd to me if I had issues with her). It was not as messed up as it could appear. About the plot of FE4, the first gen was politically interesting but it sort of fell down with Deirdre, I mean I would really have wanted to know how Arvis planned to unify the continent without finding the Barhara Princess and marrying her, it just seems... a kind of shortcut. Gen2 was meh, due to stupidity from the whole cast at not guessing who Julia is but... well, each game has its own moment of dumb logic. FE5's plot is better handled, I think, apart the scene where Manfroy puts a "just as planned" concerning Trabant, maybe because the chapters and gameplay is different, like you don't have ellipses of 6 months (chapter 20 notwithstanding) where it is sort of difficult to explain anything concretly without resorting to narration. But they could have done something concerning Berdo/Veld/ that guy. Still, it brings plot points like Cyas (Seliph hunts Arvis because he murdered Sigurd, Leif does the same with Trabant, why shouldn't Cyas do the same "you killed my dad now die?" and he brings another source of Loptyr blood + mayhem in Velthomer (his ending doesn't specify if he became Duke, but he has Major Fala, über charisma (10 LS) and is known worldwide, it doesn't matter which minion Seliph put in charge it's going to be messy)), Marita/Galzus (Shanan has more legitimacy to rule Isaach because... Long hair? Galzus is the child of Mananan's eldest brat and got Major Blood (but he fights with axes and has no long shiny hair)) Linoan (Seliph is the son of one Kurt's bastard child, and has the same degree of Naga blood than Linoan. If legitimacy is obtained through marriage, then Seliph has none due to Deirdre and he can't argue the Naga blood shared with someone who actually can use it. Good thing Julia is busy doing whatever.) to the perfect scene of FE4 and because it might imply that the previous playable cast could be seen as villains it's what is most interesting plotwise. A bit like Miccy VS Ike, who's the real baddie? Oh and What about What sort of legitimacy could you have that overrides King Azmur's words? Sure, he talked about a child having a bit of Naga blood in him, but that doesn't mean Seliph, it means the son (Sorry Julia) of those two who has Naga Power. I interpret the "power of Narga" as having major blood, which both boys don't have. Only criteria remaining is being the child of ARvis and Deirdre, and that would be Julius. By the way, good job to ignore the Naga lineage residing in Tahra old man. Good job. Maybe Mananan took lessons from him to eradicate the first Odo branch in Rivough, because ignoring tjem couldn't work any longer?
  7. I can't help but take an interest at the topic since I am actually playing Thracia... For sure, as everyone said, the animations aren't Oliver beautiful but cool nonetheless, and please, if a remake should really be done, let us place our units. Please. About the controversial areas... The fatigue system is unique to Thracia and kind of explained in-game after chapter 18 and yet it feels so real and so... Thracia-ey that it should be kept. Capture, for my part, is one of the biggest selling point of this opus, so no Camus-like BS (but i don't want to kill you, you're a good guy) and yet they should, maybe for the sort of canon bosses you aren't supposed to kill like Largo reward you (random villager gives you something, or one of his loldier gives you a javelin, or even a nameless sprite thanking you at the end of the Chapter) unless the reward is seeing alternate lines of dialogue but hey, that sucks. FoW should turn into GBA Style ones instead of having a black screen... And please keep status staves' infinite range and their infinite duration, I mean you got hit by a magical sleep, you're not going to wake up in three turns, it's not a nap. About supports... We already got the "bond" feature even if it was somehow lacking (lolRalph supports with no one and Leif doesn't support Marita but supports Hicks) but maybe to have character development they could implement a base conversation, like the thing they had in PoR and RD? Because if you add support bonuses and bonds, Leif staying near Nanna would get something like +60% hit and evasion. So I would prefer no support, keep the "bond" and conversations could give something like stat bonuses for the upcoming map (+3 mag) while giving some character development. Oh, and I forgot, if Thracia is remade, to pretend there is a meaning to recruit him over the alternative, let Cyas keep his 5 LS after chapter 23. It probably won't change a thing though.
  8. "In the most beautiful country in the world." Not British then. I also really like fried chicken. Hi.

  9. I guess introducing myself is in order... I've been lurking since i don't when, but somehow, due to the fanbase growing with Awakening's release I finally gave in. So... I've began in... 2004 (liar, 2002 and then went to the real game because "are Marth and Roy in this game"?) because we Europeans can't translate English, and from there I played everything in order of Western release, from Eliwood to Chrom. Then I got a lot of free time, and played SoS, and it was horrific to see those hit rates, and Roy getting killed by Boltings, and suckiness... And I got dumb and hadn't read the mainsite, and killed Douglas, and then lol no Idun. It was... horrible. Older and wiser, I downloaded a Snes emulator, and got murderized on P1 of Seisen, why and decided it was enough. But I got maso, and dowloaded Thracia, and even if I don't have the courage to recruit Xavier, I really like it. Not totally weird like Seisen (where is my vulnerary? Why can't I trade? What's the point in having Arden?) and yet different enough from GBA FE and giving some sense of difficulty after playing Awakening. Even if Cyas' armor squad using their 5% to move again and slaughter me a bit more is a bit too much. But it was fun, i never laughed that much while getting destroyed. Non FE wise, there isn't much to be said... I usually like Nintendo games, I use Jigglypuff in SSBB/SSBM and I read a lot of mangas even if I don't really like the FE ones, especially the Oosawa drama but everyone has his own tastes. I guess that's all.
