  1. Yeah I'm looking forward to the Doom 2016 port for the Switch. I would love to play it on my bed rather than on my PC which I already have. It would be even cooler if there was an option for pointer/motion style controls to compliment with it too. I'm really happy to hear that it's now easier for devs to port PC games to the switch thanks to the nvidia style graphical hardwares they put into the system. As for Xenoblade 2, I'm very worried about the main plot being a heavy focus on the guy and girl relationship. I never found the so called love triangle and romance thing they put into the original Xenoblade to be......good. It was very shoehorned in and I personally thought it made the story worse. It was unnecessary and very cliche to the point where I kept questioning myself, this was suppose to be the best written jrpg story game ever kind of deal? Really? Xenoblade Chronicles X's story, lore and plot at least completely removed any any cliche love triangle romance aspect to it and was more focused on the human relationships with their past, backstory and other xenos that it had none of that cliche trope into the plot and it was such a breath of fresh air especially for a jrpg. So at this point for me Xenoblade 2's story is going be REALLY HEAVILY focused on the two's relationship to the point, where they really really want you to love these two to be together kind of deal. Which would probably rub me the wrong way. Like don't get me wrong though, I actually play the series for the exploration, lore and the actual gameplay rather than the actual story/plot itself.
  2. I'll believe it when I can actually preorder it.
  3. It's always been like this because some games only come out in Japan and Europe. So some of them get longer lengths than others because of different games being released in the same time frame. It's always been the case.
  4. what if anything, they said FE Switch is 2018. They said so in the Fire Emblem direct.
  5. The thing is, your friend is using the long way to fight that doesn't mean majority of the combat in X takes forever. If anything it's only your friend that is using the long drawn method way to fight. In reality there is a significant amount of tools and Arts available already to fight even in mid game that makes most of the combat last only a few seconds in skells and ground combat. I know this because I replayed the game almost 9 times and I'm not even an expert in building my characters, or even infinite overdrive early game and even in my first playthrough most of my battles last only a min or less. So if anything your friend's choice of playing is not the best way to assess how fast the game and combat goes for majotiy of the playthrough because he chose to use the slow tools to play his game when reality there are a lot of ways you can utilize your skells to pretty much destroy enemies really fast. There are already too many misconceptions of the game itself already so I'm a little pet peeved with most of people who don't even play the game assess it from their friends or some guy on youtube who usually is playing the game wrong. Xenoblade X is a very anti-LP game and no video footage or watching someone play the game is the best way to assess the game. You gotta actually play the game to actually judge it.
  6. What? Most battles are very short most of them lasting mins or even seconds. The final chapter lasts an hour because of the amount of cutscenes. The actual final boss only takes about 5-8 mins on average if you don't know some of the exploits. If you know how to exploit the game, the final boss takes like 10 seconds. If you're saying most battles takes too long then you're doing something VERY VERY Wrong.
  7. Each negative level differences intentionally nerfs your dodge rate. About 5 level differences is where you outright will never hit anyone unless you're using an ether based attack. The original game is very level dependant to the point where after one level up, you outright slaughter the entire enemy. Xenoblade X removes this so that it's all about your stats and not your levels. You can still lose to a level 35 enemy even if you're level 40ish or more if you didn't properly setup your builds. If anything you can kill one of the level 50 monsters very early in game if you set up the right builds.
  8. Yeah a lot of people misjudge his characters. The Japanese community actually has a soft spot for him in general whereas the The NA and EU community loathes him for all the wrong reasons. If anything Boze has the most biggest outcome results depending on the choices you have made in the game and I do wished more AMs did this. It's the most unique out of all of them in terms of character development by the choice of the player. Most people harshly judged his AMs and call it off as bad when most people selected the lazy choice and to no surprise they suffered the consequences of that. X is all about choices in this game. So a lot of people pick the choices and miss out on many of the details of the characters and judge them harshly for it. For example, Irina's First AM has you either siding with her or hanging back. Most people would pick siding with Irina immediately but little did they know that the hang back option makes Elma actually go in and gets involved a streetfight something that most people would say she's not the type to get into fights. Another examples are the h2h where they go more deeper into their backstories and characters like how Frye was B- student that was overshadowed by Phog, Gwin has a creepy fedom fetish and licks his guns on his free time, Celica homeworld having animals and pets similiar to the human world and L's mira mistranslation game that goes further into Mira's strange word translation. There is a lot of depth to these that a lot of people miss out on mostly because they never bothered doing these quests and just labelled them as bad without ever going further into them. X is designed to reward you with information for doing quests and tell you the story by small episodes and by leisure instead of just letting a game do it for you which is what I would call a movie syndrome. Because lets face it in real life, very few people will tell you about their life stories unless you were extremely close to one or the other. Most people will tell you about their life and choices they made in small segments and episodes instead of outright telling you 100% of the time.
  9. Boze's AM has the most changing outcomes out of all the AMs because if you didn't do the right choice in the beginning of his recuirtment, then he'll never resolve his conflict and will remain the xenophobic person he will be. The consequences made it so that the Definian tricks you into their trap and makes him hate xenos even further. Wheras if you had saved the ma-non in the beginning, then the item that he gives to boze will see past the definian's traps and theoretically, the Ma-non saves Boze. Thus making him rethink about what he's done over the course of the game and redeem himself and apologize for what he's done.
  10. Unfortunately the original 3DS wasn't designed to have a screenshot function or Miiverse in mind so unless your game is designed to have screenshot capability, you're left with either a capture card or hope the game has a screenshot function to save into your SD card. Sadly the 3DS will be left in the dark with this case.
  11. I posted above that you can still take screenshots without miiverse. You never needed miiverse to take screenshots. Not to mention miiverse screenshots are of low quality as it converts it to 480p whereas uploading it to like Stash or other popular image hosting will upload it at 720p. I don't know how many times I've had to tell people this. I've lost count.
  12. You could always take screenshots without Miiverse. When you pause the game for the pic you want, open your Web Browser and find your favourite image hosting site like stash and upload your images through there. https://www.nintendo.com/wiiu/image-share/ http://www.wikihow.com/Take-a-Screenshot-on-Wii-U You never needed Miiverse to take screenshots.
  13. Well looks like Launch is back from Xenoblade X so I guess they put it as a pretty big mechanic in this one now. Well little arts utilized Launch I think skyhigh was a tiny variation of it. I am worried that the entire game might become another Break, Topple and a variation of daze since now with launch and smash style of game again because it was the few viable tactics that made the game really easy if you're equivalent level to the enemy. And I'm probably gonna miss the mechanics of auto attacking while moving. But I'll reserve judgement when i get the full game.
  14. yeah same I'm not too much of a fan of the deluxe versions. I do wish they could at least lower the price a bit on them.
  15. Well it's more like Xenoblade X makes a lot of themes that are a call back to the Xenogears, Xenosaga style of story telling. There are a lot of references in X that are 100% callbacks to Xenogears and Xenosaga. X is basically takahashi wanting to restart doing his space fantasy opera style of game. And it got a lot of backlash from the story because most of the people didn't bother playing the sidequests which is 80% of the game and the best parts of the game are the sidequest. The original Xenoblade sidequests weren't all that amazing to begin with so most people went into that mindset of only beating the story and call it a day. The thing with the main story is that he wants to make the story have some kind of continuation similar to how star wars did it. While the ending did leave a lot of questions, it also creates an affect of wanting to learn more which is why the Fans are desiring a sequel for X more than XC2. The gameplay of XCX is definitely nothing like gears or saga but the themes are very similiar to it. Xenoblade was a completely different departure from gears and saga that a lot of backlash was from stubborn players who wanted the same exact JRPGesque epic style of story telling. They also weren't willing to try an open world rpg style of game and thus there was a lot of misjudgement of the game in general. Like if you look at the prerelease stuff, X was promoting exploration in the game and while yes there was a story trailer it wasn't the main focus they were trying to promote. It was trying to promote gameplay first and foremost.
  16. Xenoblade X is the only one I want on the Switch. The screenshot function would be heaven in a title like this. Every fan I know who has played this game has taken so many screenshots it's not even funny. It's that beautiful of a game despite its graphical technical limitations. It's also a game I feel got a lot of unfair backlash from the original Xenoblade community as many of them weren't aware that Xenoblade X is a call back to Xenogears and Xenosaga and they kept basing it off of the original Xenoblade. Personally I am not a fan of the decision to use the Xenoblade name on it either but it's a game that I completely treasure.

  18. Yep and not to mention it also affects some living animals and insects A mutual of mine reported that the Locusts in their area started making even more sound when the sun disappeared during the time it happened. Here is another beautiful shot to show how fast the moon goes by even during an airplane flight. https://twitter.com/TomHall/status/899658092526227457
  19. Well I finished my Sonic & Tails combo playthrough. I'm doing my knuckles playthrough right now. All I can say is, I had a big smile for the entire playthrough. It's a lot of fun and the right difficulty. As someone who played a lot of 2D Sonic mania does a fantastic job of balancing the different routes you can take in this game and there is still a lot of fun routes you can take that can really influence the game significantly if you replay it a lot. My gripe like many people is that it would be nice if they attempted more original themes and aesthetics because the best levels in this game are the new levels. But that's a minor thing. The overall package is well worth the price you're paying for the game. It's obviously a game made with a lot of love. No need to worry about random plot, obscure high difficulty climbs. This is pure Sonic fun and I look forward to continue replaying the game.
  20. It's basically XCOM, Codename Steam and Valkyria Chronicles. It's a tactics game. Position, selecting units and pointing the target in the proper positioning, give your units cover and unleash special attacks when necessary and taking advantage of your limited resource and the environment as much as possible for your specific turn. It's not much more complicated than that.
  21. Eshop things I think will be around for quite a long time. Heck even the Wii's online store is still up to this day so that's not going away anytime soon. For online, that's a big question right now but it seems like they're still supporting online games considering they did recently updated the Wii U's firmware to prevent a popular hacking entry point for a lot of their online games. For example, there was a guy that was recently hacking Xenoblade X a lot and destroying an online boss that everyone wants to battle against but he kept hacking and destroying it in one hour or so even though the bosses last 2 days or so. The new update prevented him from exploiting it any further and now the fanbase is happy to be playing against it again without some random guy from ruining it. Not to mention Smash 4 is still widely played right now as we aren't getting any confirmation of smash 4 for switch anytime soon and the online is free so there is still merits to keep it up. So I don't think the online is going anywhere anytime soon. Maybe for a good 2 or 3 years or so since it seems like they have a significant amount of people are still utilizing its functions.
