  1. So this brings us back to the topic at hand: How are we to judge Edelgard? Are we to consider the result or the intent? if we are to go by intent we need to understand she lacks the perspective of the player and regardless of Rheas intent her rule resulted in the terrible system and she did nothing major to fix it beyond trying to return her mother, a motive none know about or would they understand her rule then seems tyrannical to one who knows her lies. Thus Edelgards intent is to undo her rule and reunify humanity I.e. Undo the damage rhea inflicted by Edelgards own understanding. A noble goal or not? if we consider the result, the truth is that going by endings it's the only one where commoners are made truly equal to nobility, while they are made to have representation in other routes they are only given true equality here and that is the statement of the ending so unless we deny what the game tells us, this is the factual truth. all endings result in bloodshed in part due to her but the war is inevitable thanks to the slithers and the failing system. Thus her result remains the least bloody if Byleth sides with her and continuing rheas path of no war results in generations more suffering as she continues to fail to revive sothis or dea with the slithers. end result? Still better ending than no war. so do we judge her by intent or result and having decided on which of these we can judge her by, we can bring this back to the topic at hand. There was an interesting post not on this site but o e interesting none the less if I can dig it up. It covered the crests and how it influences the behavior of those that bear them. Ferdinand being oddly protective of flayn in supports and having many of the same traits as setteth, among other examples. The reason I bring this up is because we can likely derive a lot of Rheas behavior in the past from what we see Edelgard do in the present we can see how ruthless seiros can be when it's only hinted at in game. It explains a lot of how the slithers could come to hate her species so even beyond the evil cult bad of standard fire emblem tropes.
  2. For example I'm NG+ and I've recruited all students but hilda and Dorothea, Byleth is a lvl 25 warrior and I haven't fought Miklan yet.
  3. Just check the recruitment guide in the three houses page on this site. https://serenesforest.net/three-houses/characters/recruitment/
  4. Oh this one? Yea that's the entrenched nobility and clergy (left) of the various kingdoms paying fealty and turning in the weapons. This represents the waning power of the nobility since on the right you have all the peasants standing strong and tall celebrating. So I guess Edelgard is bad now for doing what she said she was going to do and forcing the two people on equal footing but about a week from now I'll hear again how she didn't actually do what her ending said she did because reasons. Anyway, I've attached the image so you don't have to take his or my word for it, draw your own conclusions.
  5. That is coming from the biased source known as Rheas 2nd greatest fan and while I have to accept a degree of word of mouth from the characters, I'd still take that one under unreliable narrator.
  6. So barring mind control, how exactly are the twistd manipulating all these events if the general discontent doesn't already exist? Christoph feels there's a good cause rhea deserves to die, get offed by rhea and framed for an entirely different event so people don't start asking why people might want the leader of the church dead. The father who'd be shamed for his son being involved in the discursive tragedy but knowing that was false would naturally lose all trust in the church and be easy to get in conflict with them later but it does create the issue that barring the twsitd the church's enemies are self made. They put down someone and cover it up and all twsitd has to do is give someone evidence of this and they'll connect the dots to the last couple centuries of unexplained executions and likely become the very next on the list. He'll even Thomas trying to manipulate Claude is literally just telling the truth, "hey check out this dragon, called the immaculate one" or edelgard "hey professor, what do you think these ruins belonged to: mole people or dragons? Our ancestors? What a boring answer, those first two though I find humorous, maybe they're still influenicng us now eh? Totally not hinting at anything am I? Never" twistd edelgard, they use the same strategy the give you a little info, you look for more and then the knights of seiros kick down your door and rhea executes you.
  7. Make sense since she's dead, sure she could have died violently but the way they act it's more like she died of illness.
  8. So a massive civil war as the people rise up against the crested, are slaughtered en mass, bandits flourish everywhere, hundreds of Microsystems form, these states then go to war for the next hundred or so years until empires replace them, these empires then fight one another in a massive continental war that results in the death of millions. ok, I can se how just letting the collapse happen in the most chaotic way is the least bloody, thanks for explaining everything.
  9. I'm being mostly sarcastic but when others have been pressed for answers on those options, it usually requires information she couldn't know or easily acquire I.e. It requires having read the script. btw small request, could you quote me if you are responding or tag me? If I wasn't following the thread I may have missed your comment.
  10. So having been a part of this thread for a while having read all of it I can finally conclude what we've all been saying but couldn't put to words: if only Edelgard had read the script of three houses then she could be as knowledgable as us. What an amateur mistake, careless really. If she'd read the script she wouldn't have made all those dumb decisions like not knowing Claude's goal when he refused to answer when she asked, or she'd have known to reconnect with dimitri even though she forgot who he was and he had no intention on reconnecting with her either. Then she two would have realized their goals were basically the same even as all three of them refused to give the other the needed information. Luckily they have the script like we do and they can see how all the routes play out and how dumb they are for taking the actions they did, like being too dumb to read the script because that's the level we're judging their actions by, apparantly.
  11. You probably need to send in a request to have it locked.
  12. Don't feel bad, by endgame most of my units were getting orko by everybody so I'd dro them for everyone else. By endgame I had Dimitri and Byleth and they killed everything In one round anyway. It's not that I was skilled or decent, I just ran out of time because work was starting and it was easier to just have those two solve the map. Basically how it went for all routes except golden deer.
  13. I mean, I didn't lose anyone on hard that didn't end in a party wipe once I ran out of divine pulses. If I'm using all my pulses I've basically lost by that point anyway.
  14. Iirc he only lost the crest stone, crest bearers don't normally have a stone lodged in their heart. My guess and it's complete inference, the stone disappearing was the work of aothis allowing Byleth to become fully human rather than being her avatar since that is your choice essentially if you go crimson flower
  15. I never did get to complete the thought but the idea is what spells each class wouldhave would be be limited but set in such a way as to have a specific role, the holy knight gaining the offensive faith magic spells since it's role is clearly that of a combat faith unit. The idea being that each student would have specific spells they'd always have while each class would have a limited spell list specific to its roll and these spells would only be usable in this class. Lays and Hubert would have the best dark age spells and always have them available but dark mage as a class would actually make you feel like a dark mage. With this change, the spell lists students get could be more selective to have them feel unique and it would be how their spell list aligns with the class list and class bonus that sets their tier. The biggest issue right now is that too many spells are samey they should be as varied as combat arts.
  16. Why would he be complaining about dying in the alliance if he didn't expect combat? Why would he be expecting combat if it was a mission of peace? Why are the cardinals all hidden from knowledge? As we would eventually learn it's because they're all crest bearing immortals who do secret missions for the church. A lot of the church's shiftiness is hidden in base conversations.
  17. They're simply the representation of having inherited the dragon blood that their ancestors stole. Major implies first generation or the one simply got lucky to get thicker blood. This is entirely different from crest stone which are the heart of dragons and those who utilize their power without a crest become monsters.
  18. Well that and it rings hollow when it comes from the same people who keep talking about how badly they want to fuck Dimitri.
  19. This is why Spell casters should have unique spell lists that have more spells unlock as you rise in reason, the caveat being that these spells are only available when you are this class and this class alone. This way the Dark mage line and warlock line each would have their own unique spell lists for Reason and faith. The Faith classes would also have unique reason and fiath spells but would obviously be stacked in faith spells compared to reason. Gremorys would be loaded with long range spells since they most often appear as artillary, their support spells being aoe or long range. Warlocks mid range dark magic uses. strongest dark magic, limited support. Dark mages/bishops being close range magic nukes/brawlers, all black magic/limited dark magic to strong but close range or limited use. Very limited faith, no healing. Bishops while lacking offensive have the whole support line up and some offensive capability. ect.
  20. So what did the Eastern church do? Because the knights of Seiros march on the Eastern Church in the alliance right after the attack on the mausoleum (you hear about this from one of the knights complaining about going to die there) so again, what did they do to deserve to get purged?
  21. Your own profile pic canonically makes crestless relics, you're telling me it's so unbelievable the people who made the relics couldn't key one to her unique dual crest signature/frequency?
  22. Given GD final boss rush entire gimmick is that they all use copies of your relics, they simply made a copy of maurices crest stone like all the rest of the artificial crest stones they made. I thought that was obvious?
