  1. Azura had 9 defence as a Nine-Tails but still destroyed literally everything in Shigure's Paralogue because nothing could hit her with a Beaststone+ equipped. I just stuck a Speed Tonic and Luck Tonic on, used a Defence Tonic so she'd die a little less in combination with Voice of Peace when the Adventurers got a hit in, and then paired her up with Falcon Knight Kaden and sent her to wreck the entire north ship (aside from the two Berserkers with silver axes, who went south and ran into the rest of my force). Right now she literally has like 14 defence at 17th level Nine-Tails but she still wrecks face. Passing her Rend Heaven helped too.
  2. Wait Arthur is Cam Clarke too? So one of Male Corrin's voices is Arthur, and they're both also Kratos Aurion. And Simba in Kingdom Hearts II. (Holy crap I just realized it's REALLY obvious with Simba because he sounds exactly like Will Raynard from Tales of Legendia!) …The mental image of Kratos Aurion saying "Stay safe, Citizen!" does not get any less funny.
  3. Actually, weapon rank affects your attack stats even without WTA. How the rank affects it is dependent on the weapon, but in Awakening at least it worked like this: Swords: C: +1 Atk B: +2 Atk A: +3 Atk, +5 Hit Axes: C: +5 Hit B: +10 Hit A: +15 Hit, +1 Atk Lances (don't remember this one exactly): C: +5 Hit B: +10 Hit, +1 Atk A: +10 Hit, +2 Atk And I've certainly noticed a similar effect in Fates, where the difference between a D rank in kunai and a C rank in kunai is that the character with a C rank has +1 Atk compared to the character with a D rank.
  4. I actually like Subaki's. Felicia's would make me question the writers' sanity, if it weren't so darn funny. Also Elise, Beruka, Odin, Mozu, Kaze, Fuga, Shigure, Mitama, and Hisame are really funny. Meanwhile, Velouria appears to have discovered the concept of "bile fascination". Perhaps more literally than normal.
  5. Is there anywhere one can actually get Azura's Salve? 'Cause a few billion of those would be great for making Potent Potion and Quick Salve actually useful skills. Also, does Quixotic work with the user's own Dragon Ward, or would the Dragon Warded ally have to have Quixotic for it to have an effect? And I presume Quixotic does not work with out-of-battle trigger skills such as Profiteer or Salvage Blow.
  6. I still haven't ever had a gold prize. Yes, it's a rank 3 lottery. And I almost always get iron weapons from silver prizes. I think I got a Great Club once, though? Really what I'd like is if the lottery would give me another 20 Sunrise Katanas.
  7. It's not her face of non-mercy though. I wouldn't fight him with those odds. I'd use Kagero's Dart for 20 more Avoid and then fight him.
  8. The main problem is simply being stuck with Bronze/Brass weapons at rank E. And somehow it feels like weapon ranks take longer to improve than in Awakening, but maybe that's just because Bronze weapons were less useless in Awakening. (Seriously I prefer wielding a bamboo pole to wielding a brass naginata. The bamboo pole can crit and activate skills.) Sacred Stones had a really great weapon rank system: You could A rank all weapons you could wield. Every unit could S rank any one weapon type of their choosing, but only one; all their other weapon types would forever be capped at A. Advanced classes had a base weapon rank they would gain upon promotion if they didn't already have it. And of course Iron weapons were E rank anyway and Bronze didn't exist, so that wasn't an issue either.
  9. Sunrise Katana is better than radishes (gives +20 avoid instead of +10 and has 2 more Weapon Might) and you dual-wield them too. Still, good to know that radishes are a dual wield weapon for Swordmasters. lolz. That's probably not unintentionally hilarious though. It's probably quite deliberate.
  10. Also female ninja does a "cute" head tilt right before vanishing during her victory pose and it looks hilariously out of place on literally everyone other than Kagero. Male ninja's technique is all precise and proper and then there's female ninja with that random head tilt.
  11. See, the thing that bothers me about Grisly Wound ninjas is that's not an ability their class naturally gets. Unless they're all just somehow kitsune, they shouldn't have that skill. I don't like when the game doesn't play by the same rules as the player. Do I care if they have an army of 30 units to my 12? Not overmuch. Do I care if the units they're spamming aren't legal? Yes. Yes I do. I don't like when the enemy shows up with nageyari or star axes or what have you. They can work with kodachi, wakizashi, and +2 parasols just like I have to. Fuga is the best boss so far in Birthright in my opinion, and I've completed chapter 22. He uses totally legal weapons, and his skill list and stats make him a threat that has to be played around.
  12. Unintentionally funny but still actually pretty cool: Hero's finisher animation with a sword. Also funny: if you make any female unit other than Kagero a ninja it's really noticeable how the animations are tailored to accentuate Kagero's boob physics. Edit: Also the character writing in general is really inconsistent, even in their battle quotes. It's like even the battle quotes for each character got spread across multiple writers, never mind just the supports. Takumi's "I hate to do this," crit quote is so at odds with all his other crit, support, dual strike, and win quotes.
  13. Jakob has good battle quotes and the Butler class has an amazing animation set. I think that about sums it up. Plus a few of his supports are actually funny on those occasions where it's implied he's just overly blunt and likes sassing and doesn't actually mean anything by it. At least Orochi calls him out on it, even if she starts the support convo by making personal attacks in Jakob's own preferred style.
