  1. C21 is a fog of war map, which would normally be a bad thing, but I have the power of ECG at my disposal. In 2 turns, I rout nearly all enemies, visit the shops, sell nearly 8000 gold worth of items, get the Wyrmslayer and Elysian Whip, use the arena, and kill the boss. The MVP of this chapter was Priscilla and her Torch staff. C21: 2 / 112 turns My party is starting to look much more respectable now that Isadora and Fiora have joined. Once I have Vaida and Farina, I might even be able to perform some of those fancy rescue-dropping shenanigans that are popular in LTC.
  2. I lied. They're actually still level 4. Priscilla gained a level and reached B staves in C20 though. Fiora is a pretty average unit, needing three STR and SPD gains to begin reliably killing generic enemies. My previous 3-turn clear of C19 left Florina too slow to quickly defeat Cameron and Darin, failing to double either of them with a 2HKO or 3HKO weapon. Fiora could clean up Cameron with the Horseslayer and a poke from Rebecca, but I had to manipulate a Steel Lance critical to handle Darin. A 5-turn clear is possible by rushing Hector to the throne, but it misses out on Legault's Barrier and Guiding Ring. Neither are strictly necessary, but I slow down for them anyway, as having 3 falcoknights makes the triangle attack that much cooler. C20: 6 / 110 turns Fiora is ready to promote with the Elysian Whip in the next chapter. However, I might leave her as a pegasus knight for a few more chapters, so she can gain a few more points in STR.
  3. I second this. You said it was possible!
  4. I have redone C19 with a new and improved 3-turn clear that still manages to preserve some nice level ups for the scrub squad. The execution was sadly not as masterfully performed as in the example video, as the thief with the Torch staff is in a different location in HHM. C19: 3 / 104 turns Florina does not gain any levels with the new plan, but that only costs me one STR and two SPD. She will likely make those up in the next chapter, and I saved a bunch of Javelins. The only issue is that she needs the 23 STR to ORKO Cameron with a Javelin in the next chapter.
  5. After sitting down and thinking about it, I realized that rescue-dropping Fiora actually does work. It is risky as Fiora needs to survive an enemy phase with this strategy though. I am not sure how its reliability compares to just getting the Javelin critical. Turn 1: Florina heads south to kill the oncoming enemies. Turn 2: Florina heads back to kill the pirates on the island. Turn 3: Priscilla rescues Fiora and heads as close to Florina as she can. Florina takes Fiora from Priscilla and starts heading towards Uhai. Turn 4: Florina heads towards Uhai and drops Fiora. Fiora gets attacked by a lot of nomads and hopefully does not move in the wrong direction. Turn 5: Florina equips a Silver Lance, talks to Fiora, and heads to the right of Uhai. Uhai moves first and is killed on enemy phase. Since this results in the same turn count as the critical I passed over, I will not go back and redo the chapter. However, I am going to thank dondon151 for making me think about this.Edit: I just realized that the ECG can be performed using a torch. I can use this to move Uhai, getting a 100% reliable 3-turn clear. With this in mind, I will definitely go back and retry C19. For C20, I am looking to see if I can do it faster than 6 turns, which is when Legault makes it to the throne room. Florina seems to be able to reach the boss on turn 4, but without a 2-range unit in the rescue brigade, I do not see a way to get Hector and Lyn to the throne before turn 5. I can skip the Guiding Ring and seize the throne on turn 5, which is one turn slower than the reference LTC I linked earlier. I am also concerned about Serra and Priscilla's growth. They remain at level 5 with staff ranks halfway between C and B. I am having difficulty getting staff EXP for them as they tend to die. Will they be able to reach A staves and sufficient MAG in time to warp anyone?
  6. I just loaded a save state, and by counting tiles, Fiora can not in fact move any farther to the right (well, she can, but she would also have to go up). Florina needs to travel a minimum distance from the party to kill the two pegasus knights on the west side. The torch does not give her enough range to see Uhai on player phase, but Fiora can scout ahead. In the end though, she ends up just shy of Uhai's right side by one tile. So I can still get that 5-turn clear with a Javelin critical (apparently 11%), to which I have no objection. However, I am not going to redo chapters to save a last turn with criticals because that ship sailed when I did not bother for a 1-turn of C7. If I let everybody die, I think I can do this in 4 turns. The word "low" is in quotes in the topic title for a reason. I am perfectly satisfied with making a best effort and noting the existence of faster outcomes. I think she can, but when Fiora goes the wrong way, she likes to really go the wrong way. If you mean to have Priscilla move Fiora closer to Florina, that takes two turns since nobody can take Fiora from Priscilla. It also does not work because Priscilla is not a pirate and can not walk on water.
  7. The only unit that can rescue Fiora is Florina, which obviously does not solve any problems. I tried to get Fiora to follow Florina south, but the AI makes her wander across the ocean to attack pirates instead. I also tried having Florina transport Lyn, but Lyn gets surrounded by nomads and everybody at the starting position dies. Florina does not 2HKO Uhai, so a 5-turn clear requires either a critical (~5% displayed) or some way to make the AI move Fiora a few more tiles to the right. To clarify, I am not intentionally turtling or playing slowly. I always start each map with the riskiest strategy I can see and roll back until something actually works.
  8. Do units continue to build support points even if they already performed a support conversation in a chapter? I knew the answer at some point, but I am unable to locate the information currently. C19 is brutal, as reinforcements attack the starting position from three fronts and none of my units are capable of tanking hits. A 3-turn clear is possible if Fiora is not recruited, which requires Florina to stay near the starting position. A Javelin critical (<10%) on the boss could have saved a turn. Turn 1: Florina heads south to kill the oncoming nomads and cavaliers. Lyn heads east to slow down the pirates and pegasus knights. Turn 2: Florina heads back to kill the pirates and nomads on the small island. Rebecca heads towards Florina to draw the pegasus knights. Turn 3: Fiora appears and attacks a pegasus knight near Rebecca. Florina recruits Fiora and starts heading towards Uhai. Turn 4: Everyone turtles as Florina continues towards Uhai. Turn 5: Florina reaches Uhai but can not see him due to fog. A enemy nomad blocks her from engaging him at 1-range. Turn 6: Florina kills Uhai. We'll see if Fiora makes any difference when trying to seize the throne next chapter. I think I'm going to need a second combat unit, so I'll try and shuffle EXP to her where possible.
  9. My previous failure in C17 has rewarded me with an extra Mine, saving a turn on C18 and allowing me to get an early Elysian Whip! This is extremely fortunate, as Florina has now reached her STR, SKL, and SPD caps. C18: 2 / 101 turns By the way, how am I supposed to get that Lyn x Florina A support? According to the data page, it takes 40 turns to build.
  10. Nils is a female unit for the purposes of this run though. You both make good points, so I'll consider adding a "lord clause" that lets Hector tank hits for seizing purposes. On the other hand, I anticipate my seizing problems to go away (hopefully) when I get Ninian, since I can do a drop->dance->seize combo. Maybe I should just hack and make Lyn the lord or something. Hector is making this run boring.
  11. I think archers might even have special priority for flying units. Equipped Marcus could conceivably actually save turns. However, I am a bit hesitant to do this, as it leads to a slippery slope. The spirit of the draft clause is that male units should not affect battle outcomes, but one could end up in a scenario where Marcus is preventing the AI from targeting its preferred unit, even though Marcus himself never enters battle. The obvious example is if Marcus and Florina are forming a wall with Serra on the opposite side. Even though the enemy targets Florina instead of Marcus, Marcus's presence has distorted the enemy behavior.
  12. I'm not concerned about Florina. The problem is that if she runs past the archers, they will target whoever is carrying Hector. Priscilla can not survive more than one arrow hit, and Marcus is not allowed to take hits. I can leave Rebecca and Lyn to clear the archers out, but this takes longer than having Florina do it. On which note, at the beginning of the chapter, Rebecca is 2HKOd by archers and faces >60% displayed hit. I will take a closer look to see if clever positioning can let Marcus sneak past the archers. My concern is that the nomad coming down from the north will snipe him. Edit: Perhaps if I gave Marcus a Javelin, then the enemies would be less inclined to target him? Florina is technically lower level right now.
  13. This was a very intriguing idea, so I went ahead and retried C17 with Marcus (C16 is a lost cause). Unfortunately, the bottleneck was still in Florina clearing the middle hallway of nomads. I noticed in the normal LTC run that Marcus and Sain pass the hallway before the nomads begin moving, but Florina can not accomplish the same feat given the need to clear the archers in the starting area. The draft clause sadly prevents Marcus from exercising his MOV advantage over Priscilla, as unarmed units seem to draw enemies like flies. In the end, with Marcus deployed in C17, I got the same 11 turn count. I had hoped for a 10 turn finish, but a thief managed to block the upper corridor. On the bright side, Priscilla died less often and managed to get more staff exp. Causes of inefficiency: I need to kill the starting archers. This costs 2 turns. Florina gets stuck trying to get past some nomads. This costs 1-2 turns. Raven blocks the rescue convoy. This costs 0-1 turns. Enemy thief blocks the rescue convoy. This costs 1 turn.
  14. I might need to do some rethinking of the rules. Not allowing Hector to fight adds several turns again to C17, where I need to kill several archers to stop them from poking Hector. My final turn count of 11 could definitely use some optimization. C17: 11 / 99 turns Does anyone have any advice on how to speed this up? I suppose by benching Rebecca, Serra, and Priscilla, I will no longer need to worry about useless units getting killed, but Florina is still too slow to double nomads (CON system hates females).
  15. After many frustrating resets and save state loads, I have completed C16. Lyn, the "Noble Lady of Caelin", still has zero durability at level 10 and is frequently killed on turn 2 by the pegasus knights. Florina proves her worth as flying Marcus, killing every enemy on the left side of the map, despite taking arrows and ballistas to the face. However, as godly as Florina is, even she is unable to solo the map with Hector on her back, so I have to wait for her to clear the map before moving Hector. C16: 9 / 88 turns It might be possible to achieve a lower turn count if I allow Hector to take hits and let Sain/Kent die. I appear to have failed miserably on the Lyn mode funds rank, as Lyn joined with a worthless Red Gem.
  16. OK. I went back and got that 4-turn clear of C14. Things did not go as planned and Marcus had to kill 3 bandits (in mountains) with a Javelin. I had to manipulate multiple criticals to allow my not-so-awesome Eliwood/Dorcas/Bartre/Oswin to get past the soldiers on turn 2. Updated stats for Rebecca, Serra, and Priscilla: Serra sure likes to get killed.
  17. Is there a video or guide on how to do this? The MoogleBoss video I followed appeared to rely on Lowen doubling and ORKOing some enemies, which isn't happening unless I go back to C13 to rig levels. There's a finite amount of effort I'm willing to expend on something that's not even part of the run.Regarding some other points: Lyn: A double critical from Lyn looks like it would work. I didn't realize the Sol Katti was effective against dragons. Lucius: I was going to make a joke about his gender, but I lost the screenshots from his joining chapter. What does he do that makes him worth breaking rules? C20: It is good to know that I can get the Guiding Ring. Maybe I can get away with 3 Falcoknights now.
  18. I went back and did the calculations again, and I think I have a problem. According to the items page, the Dragon's Flametongue gives +20 DEF on top of its 20 base DEF. Florina has a 23 STR cap and the Rex Hasta has 21 MT, yielding... 4 damage. An A support with Lyn brings this up to 7 damage. Adding Filia's Might on top of that gets me to 17 damage. Triangle Attack triples that for 51 + 17 damage in a single round. There's no way I'm going to fish another 52 damage out of thin air.
  19. The sad truth is that they still struggle to do anything useful even after TAS-level abuse. I managed to get through C11-15, copying the strategies of "MoogleBoss" (linked previously). Hector is a terrible unit and keeps dying. I was unable to 4-turn C14 as my Marcus and Lowen are apparently not as awesome as MoogleBoss's. Serra at least gained a staff rank. Rebecca and Priscilla are still useless.
  20. I was going to go for 2x triangle attack with Uber Spear on the Dragon. Secret shops can't be accessed because I can't get the member card, hence no chest keys. I will do some calculations to see if I need to transition away from Florina for endgame.
  21. Master Seals being named "Earth Seal" in this game threw me off for a second. By not letting Matthew steal anything, I will pass up the Member Card, Silver Card, and every chest. Promotion schedule C18 / Florina / Elysian Whip / ECG C19 / Rebecca / Orion Bolt / Enemy C20 / Priscilla / Guiding Ring / Chest C21 / Fiora / Elysian Whip / Village C24 / Serra / Earth Seal / Village C25 / Farina / Elysian Whip / Village C26 / Lyn / Heaven Seal / Automatic C27A / -- / Guiding Ring / Chest C32 / Nino (?) / Earth Seal / Automatic All the Guiding Rings are locked away in chests, so I will need to substitute Earth Seals. This shortchanges Farina and Nino, which may or may not matter. Stat boosters Angelic Robe ------------ C6 / Chest / Florina C22 / Isadora / -- Energy Ring ----------- C10 / Village / N/A Secret Book ----------- C12 / Village / ?? Speedwings ---------- C27A / Enemy / -- Goddess Icon ------------ C14 / Erk / ?? Dragonshield ------------ C15 / Enemy / ?? C31 / Chest / -- Talisman -------- C27 / Chest / -- C32 / Village / -- Boots ----- C28 / Chest / -- Body Ring --------- C23 / Desert / -- C31 / Chest / -- In the LTC thread I linked, most of these items were skipped. I'll see which ones are needed/possible when I get there. The Boots require Matthew and can not be obtained. A vs B According to the main page, C27A is selected if "Erk, Serra, Priscilla and Lucius's total gained EXP is greater than (or equal to) Guy, Dorcas, Bartre and Raven's total gained EXP." Unless I specifically aim for C27B by grinding Dorcas/Bartre, C27A should be guaranteed. Is there a reason to target C27A instead of C27B?
  22. A Rebecca solo is both impossible and anything but "low" turn counts. Hence, I'll be using the full cast until Lyn Florina rejoins. Maybe you can help me plan the more challenging half of the run though. Unit selection My combat force for HHM will consist of a bad paladin and three flying horses. Should I continue focusing on Florina, transition to a different main unit, or diversify? Matthew I noticed that the first Elysian Whip is available on C18, but it needs to be stolen. Should I allow Matthew to steal the whip? Warp Do I need two users of Warp staff? If not, should I use Serra or Priscilla? I'm not familiar with warp-skipping tactics in FE7.
  23. I finished up the rest of LHM. The last half of LHM is noticeably quicker than the first half. Compared to this other run, I lose one turn on C7 and three turns on C8. A Javelin critical would have allowed a one-turn of C7. C8 could possibly be faster as I forgot to use Nils, but I'm not sure if it would have let me rout the map with 2 units before the reinforcements arrived. C5: 5 / 34 turns C6: 4 / 38 turns C7: 2 / 40 turns C8: 6 / 46 turns I forgot to take screenshots of these. Florina uses the Angelic Robe and solos C7 and most of C8. Lyn takes care of the northern enemies on C8. C9: 3 / 49 turns C10: 3 / 52 turns Time for the manly men part of this run.
  24. I got another unit! She's got a horse! It even flies! C3: 5 / 21 turns C4: 8 / 29 turns
  25. Thanks for the input, everyone. I've updated the first post with the final edition of the rules (no Karla) and added a placeholder for turn counts. Here's the first two chapters (no strategy involved). Lyn has a terrible 5 MOV, so I don't think these chapters can go much faster. Hopefully the shenanigans will pick up soon when Florina joins. Prologue: 5 / 5 turns C1: 5 / 10 turns C2: 6 / 16 turns These initial chapters can be summarized as "RNG abuse for strength". Lyn has leveled up 5 times and gained STR each time.
