  1. It varies greatly by game, but disregarding the broken stuff. . . Best: Lances Worst: Axes Lances have an extremely common 1-2 range weapon (which IMHO gives it the edge over swords), and most of the lances are fairly accurate. Axes are powerful but inaccurate, and reside in the worst part of the weapon triangle (the part that makes it hard to hit a Swordmaster).
  2. Mist would butt in and make the argument moot. Here's some more (I haven't played FE 4/5) - Geitz would ask Janaff if he knows someone named Wilson - Dart and Darros exchange tips on bandanna care - Ilyana's appetite problems would be instantly cured by Nino's cooking - Oscar and Rebecca hold a cook-off - Ike and Raven ruin it by eating all the meat - Kieran and Wallace would be too busy sparring to notice - Fa, Chiki, and Myrrh form the Divine Dragon Triangle Attack (take that, Pegasus sisters!) - Castor cheats Makalov out of all his money - Farina, Hugh, and Volke argue over who is worth the most - Wolf and Rath have a minor identity crisis - Aran and Sedgar exchange clothes, and prank the living daylights out of everyone - Tomas, Knoll, and Volug have the most boring conversation ever - Jake meets Jake, and the world ends
  3. Really? I've currently got the redheaded stepchild of Aurelis to level 15 Cavalier (no reclasses). He's either at or above average in everything, and he's extremely behind the Altean Cavalier Squad of Doom (to be fair, Frey's stats would be about right if he was three levels higher than he is, Abel is performing a little better than average, and Cain's only shortcoming is his low Skill). I plan on doing a redhead runthrough later, so how can I make Vyland useful, so I don't rip my hair out? Roshea does better as an Archer (though you'll need to feed him the first level of kills). Change him as soon as possible.
  4. Castor gets reclassed constantly, depending on what he needs to gain. Roshea becomes an Archer the first moment I'm able to do so. Radd needs help, so he inherits Roshea's horse.
  5. If he feels like gaining Speed, then he gets a spot on my team. I do the same with Neph and Strength, but I have yet to be in a situation where both cooperate. He's also far better-looking than Danved.
  6. Win: 2 RES on Julian. Fail: I tried to level Vyland. I don't think I'll do that again.
  7. Best: FESD. Nothing like starting a game by wising off to one's superiors! Worst: FE6. It felt forced.
  8. That page is a reading exercise unto itself! If I'm ever bored out of my mind, I'll attempt to translate it! Here's what I got, complete with my own notes: Then, at last, from the otherwise calm royal family, a lone hero appeared. He was sickly, so his younger brother, the prince, helped reform the country's laws. He liberated the horse-riding nation (1) from its slave status,. Furthermore, the young men of royalty (2) were welcomed as lords (3), and the incompetent nobles were banished. Those nobles, with Archanea's backing, often planned on rebelling. The plains people accompanied the young prince's military might, and ended the rebellion before it could happen (4). That young man was called the plains wolf ... his name is Hardin. --- (1) I'm referring to them as the plains people (2) Of the plains people (3) There's something about a code of chivalry in this sentence (which I think has to do with the royal dudes mentioned earlier), but I'm not quite sure where to express that (4) That's the best I can do with that sentence. Really. --- From what I can gather, here's what happened: 1. The plains people are slaves. 2. Hardin's older brother does not approve, but is too sick to do things, so Hardin has to do the enforcing. 3. The plains people were freed, and those considered nobility within the plains people are recognized as such. They replace the useless nobles (herein referred to as "trash"). Trash exiled. 4. Trash doesn't like that, so with Archanea's backing, attempts a rebellion. 5. Hardin, with the plains people under his command, put a stop to that real quick. EDIT: Any and all corrections are welcome!
  9. Best: Rachel (FE8) Worst: Wrys (FESD) Rachel (I don't like her American name) kept my units alive, and unlike Priscilla, had some hilarious support conversations. Wrys healed less than a Vulnerary, and it didn't get much better after promotion.
  10. I don't nickname individuals very often. Rath - No. 4 Priscilla - Please gain HP Radd - General on a Horse Caeda - DODGE THAT! Instead, I nickname groups. Matthew, Legault, and Jaffar - Expensive but Worth It Janaff and Shinon - Bait and Switch My green-haired playthrough of Shadow Dragon - Lemmings on the Run Cain and Abel (when both cooperate) - Deep Strikers Caesar, Radd, Roger, and Tomas - Team Skittles Jeorge and Astram - Supplies Please
  11. I'm a 4 or 5, depending on what day it is. I can't imagine me being the same size as Florina!
  12. Do you have the original text (including the speaker's name)? I'd like to give a shot at translating that.
  13. According to the info here, it looks like there's a couple of ammos with decent hit rates, so a ridiculous forge shouldn't be needed. By the time my personal favorite ammo falls into my lap, I've leveled my long-range mayhem-maker up enough so that it has a pretty good chance of hitting. I worry more about my axe users than my Ballisticians.
  14. Like I'm gonna take this seriously! Name: Reimi Gender: Female Class: Archer Appearance: The one with the bow! Past: Noble's Child Present: Hey Gordin, can you borrow Marth's Rapier and--, ahem, Diverse Future: Humanitarian
  15. Thank you! I'm definitely interested!
  16. How would this work, given the reclassing system? I'd love it if a certain purple-haired Aurelian appeared as the class I set him in my current playthrough (which makes him very, very useful).
  17. I think I can pull a random theme team out of my rear (it's not the Archaneon Special). Before I rush headlong into something I'll regret, can you expand on which classes are banned? Thanks!
  18. If everyone would stop complaining. . . *irony meter breaks*
  19. *reads through the entire topic* Disclaimer: I worked in a law office that dealt with paternity cases. I'm much against premarital sex. Part of it is spiritual, the rest deals with the way paternity cases are handled. Some women use sex as a last-ditch effort to keep their man with them ("If I'm pregnant with his child, he'll marry me!") If she's successful (and refuses an abortion), and the man decides he'll leave her anyway, he's STILL financially responsible for the child. That means monthly child support checks, which may include having his wages garnished. If he's interested in raising the child, there's issues such as visitation that need to be ironed out. All of this is similar to. . . . . .a divorce case. The difference is that if the woman decides to divorce her husband (even while pregnant), she'll probably walk away with more money than she came into the relationship with (assuming he's worth more than her financially, which is the majority of the time). There's also the issue of cuckolding (woman gets pregnant off of one man and tries to convince another man that it's his kid). While that's easily disproved by a paternity test, such tests aren't given away for free. Did I mention that most lawyers are going for over $300/hr.? tl;dr version: The potential consequences outweigh the benefits of sex before marriage in my opinion. If I'm having sex, it's WITHIN marriage, so if my husband walks out on me, I'll probably wind up richer.
  20. I will be the first to say NO. My friends are there to relieve stress, not cause it. Emotion aside, I don't want to deal with the unintended side effects of casual sex. Fortunately, my friends understand this.
  21. Society seems to think that people pick up social intelligence "on the way" (i.e. in schools and whatnot). If you're the kid that's picked on in school, you're SOL. The most vital point of any relationship is trust. Do you trust your significant other so much that you can speak your mind without having him/her dump you on the spot? Without trust, you're better off NOT in a relationship.
