  1. get right witcha girl u deserve better bby fuckin with this clown smh pleasant little ditty with just enough teeth. it's good #DijonRecommends the first two chris isaak albums, silvertone and s/t. got a well-documented love of country music that's exactly one degree removed from being actual country music. rockabilly! i've listened to all their albums (peer pressure >>>>) but tbh the only one i care for is tremulant. when i had it in my library i swapped out the studio version of "concertina" for a live recording where cedric doesn't sound too stoned to sing, made it thaaaat much better
  2. today's song is really... physical. in its own way. lovely guitar and the vocals won me over by the end. big fan of this actually
  3. i should act like a restaurant menu and put a little clipart pepper next to my takes, some people can't stand the heat tend to agree vintage p4k darlings like modest mouse just aren't doing it for me these days. some of their lyrics are nice tho glad i wasn't too preoccupied to listen to the whole thing (author's note i spent the entirety of the song's 3-hour runtime crafting that pun) wanted more of the dude's voice, less of the other stuff. respect the ambition tho? fans of freak-folky white women who probably herd sheep and just so happen to have made a cult classic album on the side should check out linda perhacs's parallelograms and then vashti bunyan's just another diamond day (she sounds like linda perhacs at a ren faire) dude's voice jumps out at me like the singer from the band Fucked Up, just this next-level rasp that can't help but stand out in the mix. don't hate it. the idea of cowboy metal sounds good, this song sounds ok
  4. that whole YouTube Red thing (note: RedTube is innocent in all this, as always) led to a lot of japanese music being wiped off youtube for most viewers and it's all youtube's fault (cc: YouTube, LLC). or maybe your music was too signature weird fringe to be on there in the first place gonna get in tune with balcerzak-core one of these days i just know it the best thing from that run of ubiquitous 90's hits they had imo. juuuust the right amount of yodeling fun personal anecdote --> their canción animal was my first argy album i think <-- fun personal anecdote i was having an ok time but then a vevo pop-up was like hey bijch if you like this you should watch kings of leon and i got all :( it's ok
  5. multiquoting... after dark getting into power metal is something i am very bad at yo i heard the nirvana cover on this album (better than the original, i will not be taking @'s at this time) then completely forgot about the album (messy!). find his voice and whole "outsider" thing here kind of appealing, will get around to it mmm this album title can get it. musically i feel everything like knight falchion. emotionally i feel everything like "signature weird fringe japanese band songs" just picked a sade song at random. probly my favourite female voice, didn't ask for yours btw we've gone a few posts itt without memes being dragged into things against everyone's will, so: this song is like that meme where spongebob and patrick are having fun outside and i'm squidward peering thru the blinds, in the dark, alone. uh-oh feeling sadboi's emo singer all of a sudden
  6. "i sext it away, i reddit away" - solange knowles, 2016 got that bratty, early lcd soundsystem brand of dance punk i can appreciate. simple formula but the kids love it every subject should be goth. times tables are goth now haven't played a moba but maybe that's because i hadn't listened to this motivational tune or because i didn't know what a moba is. also i haven't read the book (picked up a copy in the library, saw it had 1300 pages and gasped out loud). listening to theatre outside a theatre is weird tho now brainfeeder, i know what that is. mood music for a mood i didn't know existed i just don't be feelin' it lol @ the yt recs being female-fronted metal bands that sound nothing like this like the chorus on this one, see i can like k-pop see see it can happen see
  7. frankie saw my take and made me sleep on the couch last night today's band strikes me as something like a lower-pitch version of mew (an indie band that fans of heavy music tend to like). dreamy but the percussion is kinda playful. all in all pleasant
  8. i hunger to submit ;) reminds me of "tzar morei" by finnish post-gaze shoe-rock band kairon; irse! appreciate the darkwave (why are genre names so embarrassing) elements going on in the background. underappreciated style, darkwave (it's the name, isn't it). throw in the other influences and the concept... dunno how i feel about it all but it's original yeah i'll second blacklisted @disinnocence this is a v good song. probly the best on the album, which was better than her sister's. worth checking out. of the ~8 albums that topped every mainstream music site's "best of 2016" list, it's the one that wasn't wildly overhyped imho
  9. oh hey it's back. can't reiterate enough how much i wasn't crying btw recs (**metal non-fans do not read this**): listening to cult of luna makes me wanna re-listen to mare's self-titled ep, still one of the best metal albums i've heard. atmospheric, sludgy, posty, you'll love it. dunno how familiar you are with julie christmas, but she did a collab album with a guitarist who worked with neurosis + friends, as battle of mice, called a day of nights. the story with that album is she and aforementioned guitarist were in a crumbling relationship while making it. not quite fleetwood mac-level but who doesn't love drama fun electronic sounds but i didn't really get into the song might be the best thing on fox confessor, which everyone should check out, knight falchion really wants you to check it out one of my 2016 faves however i did do a p butt job of keeping up tbh sounded like... anime(?) for the first ~30 seconds. wasn't feeling dude's voice but there's promise here production-wise
  10. i, uh, died. won't make that mistake again, live and learn kinda washed over me. haven't had much luck with japanese metal on the whole tbh. tends to sound... over-polished? dunno what to make of the song but fun vid next stop hollywood usa noise music in general is relaxing to me, just a nice big ol' wall of sound, ahhhh. not sure how to describe this song (like if Ornette Coleman joined The Jesus Lizard? like if The Jesus Lizard joined Naked City?). will check out the album at some point, or will forget to know this band (post-rock influenced by gy!be and tortoise, wow whodathunk) but not this album. listened to two or three of their subsequent ones but don't remember them vividly enough to proffer #takes. guess i'll listen to this one too, or i'll forget to vid had me thinking this was gonna turn into some nordic metal or something wait is that greg from dillinger [googles] holy shit called it. you could tell he always wanted to do some electronic stuff tbh. didn't really get into this but glad i heard it? better than the non-mariah carey xmas songs i heard in the mall on dec 24 (sloppy!). why can't they play punk while i do capitalism *extremely posting on jrpg forum for extended period of time voice* can't say i relate, fun song tho, listened twice their debut album is v good (i think this song was on it? cuz i've heard it). one of the few bands the local alt-rock station would play that i liked skeptical for a while but when things picked up i got into it
  11. ahh nothing like a little def jux-y dystopian apocalypse to get me going first thing "flare" really does sound like an anime opening lmao
  12. it's been a long time, i shouldn't have left you ooh this sounds like if chromatics had fun at mardi gras in 2007, if that makes aaaany sense. like it the 80's aren't going anywhere are they (further in the past ig). agree with the "sounds nice" sentiment, what's to hate i definitely submitted this even tho idr submitting it. the rest of the mixtape is bad and uncomfortable sorta in the way listening to dudes on the internet rap about sonic the hedgehog is. that said i stand by this one corporate-sponsored song and its 350 fahrenheit degrees of heat been forever since i listened to the album and forever since this song started. go listen to earth 2: special low frequency version if you like pyur heavy drone-y old boris, now, in case you grow out of it damn another #tbt/#eggplantfriday special it's been a long time i shouldn't have left etc. if you like hella, check out don caballero (their album for respect mayyyy have been the first drumsgasm math rock album) feels weird to have nothing illuuuuminating or playfully snarky to say, just "it's... nice," but here we are janis joplin is the rare 60's rock musician who might be ""underrated"" (or at least "not '''overrated'''"). fan of her style
  13. not sure a perfect song needed remixing but i respect that they made a remix album in lieu of a greatest hits one
  14. all 24 of my yt recs are 90's hip-hop lmao time to listen to something else this is something else, and a lot of it vocalist is intriguing, dunno about his bandmates but dude kinda shouts over them anyway. probably exciting live roll tide been meaning to check these folks out as another chapter of my ongoing saga, in which i attempt to like literally any current rock band. this song is backward-looking but in a lot of different ways. nb guess i'll try
