8/10. Only joins halfway and still has children problems, but Veteran helps him/her catch up quickly. Usefulness depends on the spouse, but he/she should be fine as along as it's someone that isn't useless like Lissa or Olivia.

To be fair, a lot of characters in Awakening suffer from being stereotypes as well. Then again, Awakening was made to pander so... you end up with characters like Cordelia and Tharja.
-
Harems are boring and that's not true love. Nothing's ever really deep and people just throw the same old arguments over and over again. Deep character discussion with concrete analysis that isn't biased would make an ideal response, but oh well. I hate her just cause!
-
Tharja's incredibly easy to hate, so it's no duh Cordelia can win since she's practically everyone's waifu. If it were something like Excellus vs. Tharja, it could possibly be a lot closer than just a obvious landslide.

How about neither?

5.5/10 He's fairly impressive as a flier, like his mother, but still possesses all the problems the other children suffer so can't go any higher. Also, I don't see anything wrong with my Inigo rating. I'm merely factoring in postgame potential.

Uh... they don't suck? I mean, maybe if you don't know how to use them, but Jeigans are invaluable on higher difficulties.

Your daughterus/waifus are not as good as a pretty boy flirt.

It's obvious that he should get a 0/10, but some people still want to factor in postgame...
-
10/10. He is SO good when he's Chrom's son. Even though he inherits Olivia's terribad stats, he can grow into a amazing Galenforcer that's great for postgame. +1 bias because he's THAT amazing, making 11/10.

2/10. If I wanted a mediocre character, I would've used Virion, who joined way earlier. Also, minus 1 bias because Noire is a bit overrated, making 1/10.

Except that's why tier lists are made. We assume a unit's worth based on their join time, base stats, potential and so forth. And DLC maps+ skirmishes are not assumed ala Tower of Valni from FE8. If I can use DLC, then might as well factor in the Spotpass characters as well! I'll just drop this subject now, since nobody seems to really care much and I don't wanna divert this topic's main objective.

It's more of two separate ways of rating. If it was postgame, of course I would be inclined to give some of the children 10's. But up until now, ratings have been solely on how good someone is in the main game, aka the more valued opinion when rating units. It's very obvious that people give children perfect scores because they can get better skill pools(Galeforce, Luna, Sol, Armthrift, etc.) than the parents, but none of that ever actually matters in the main game since they'll only realistically get one or two of those skills. I mean, should I go and give Brady a 8/10? Sucks the entire way through the game, but lolbroken because Galeforce/Luna/Dual Guard+! Doesn't seem that fair.

The fact that Hard isn't "Hard" is the thing. There really is no need to baby units like Owain and Nah, when Sully and Sumia pull more weight around the entire game and don't need massive amount of favorism. That's like rating FE8 for Creature Campaign or 6 for Bonus maps.

5/10. Like Nowi, except less time to grow and standard child issues. I'm fairly disappointed that people factor in postgame now because I can't take most of their ratings seriously.

And... now the rating just blew up. Adding postgame just give accurate scores.

6/10. Pretty good class set and usually has fairly high stats because of her parents. Still a children unit, so low rating is inevitable. +1 bias because everyone hates her for petty reasons, making 7/10. I've never mind her sour attitude. I think it's pretty cute.

People factored in postgame potential and the fact he gets GALEFORCE! That's the problem with including postgame in scores, it makes it too iimbalenced and it's incredibly obvious that children will score high if postgame was factored in. I mean, Owain is totally not worth anything above a 4 and Cynthia is worth about a 7 at max.
-
5.5/10. He has some good stat potential, like his mother, but having E rank weapons this late is really bad and his potential hinges on who his father is. Not much to say but another typical children rating.

B-but Brady can use Rescue, and using Rescue totally makes it worth more than useless guys like Owain!

1/10. If I wanted a mediocre healer, I would've used Lissa and Maribelle, who joined a long time ago.

Gregor and Virion, according to the ratings, are pretty crummy and what does Libra accomplish by pairing up with a non-magic wife?

Some people seem to keep bringing up Sumia's limited options as a negative, even though she supports some pretty awesome guys(Chrom, Freddy, Henry). Plus, it's easier to pair her up than it is with, say, Lissa, Maribelle and Olivia.

6.5/10. Flight and has a good mother to back her up(Great Knight, Falcoknight and Dark Flier are all good options to fall on). Honestly one of the better children, but can't really go above a 8 because of certain factors that obviously hinder all children(Chapter 13 join at earliest, just alright bases, C weapon rank, no supports built up).

Is it for love, or perhaps something more?
Galenforcer replied to Galenforcer's topic in Fire Emblem: Awakening
Cordelia's apparent crush for Chrom apparently comes from when he came to her aid when she was in training. That's all that was put into the game, as far as I know. She also reads romance novels about forbidden love, so maybe it evolved through that. It's a pretty petty reason to hold some form of love for someone just for being helpful to her, which is why I hold her to so much dislike. Being nice to people doesn't always hint at romantic feelings.
