  1. I plan on learning basic assembly anyways. Is there anything special I need to know or would it be easy enough to figure it our on my own once I learn?
  2. Considering his t1 crit is already over the top, I'm really looking forward to this ^
  3. It's cool. I see what you mean now. I saw that a lot of people also felt the skills were unfair in a few other forums and I assumed it was the norm of L+. And so I spoke as if it was. I apologize for that. This thread showed me some interesting things though. Gonna restart my L+ when I get the chance. And hopefully not suck. Also, I assure you I wasn't trying to blame it entirely on the mode. I did mention that I wasn't that good at the game. However, this thread is about things we feel could improve in the next fire emblem and I feel like L+ could use some improving, so I was stating negatives about the mode. Of course there's positives about the mode too. I may be salty but I don't hate it. Just I feel some aspects are unfair, which I was expressing here. About early game, I agree with you there. that's why I didn't really want to make too big a deal about it. But luna+ should have been one of the skills that appeared at like chapter 2 imo. That skill is way too powerful to be in the freakin' prologue. But I guess it's fitting for a difficulty mode called "Lunatic+" Even though that mage is nothing compared to the unlucky Vantage+/Luna+ Mercenary. I see what you mean. I had to sic ol' Freddy on him (probably not the best choice)
  4. How would I go about changing this so it no longer ignores def/res altogether but instead, cuts it in half like in FE13. While on the topic of piercing defense, is it possible to take the pierce skill from fe8 and insert it in fe7? If so, I hope it's as simple as just copy/pasting the raw hex data (although I wouldn't know where to find it anyways) but sadly it almost never is. And after I import it (assuming I can), I plan on giving it the same treatment as Luna. But the issue is that I'm a hacking noob and have absolutely no idea how to do this. Would somebody kindly steer me in the right direction?
  5. Did you have to sound so condescending? Not necessary dude. Might as well have said something like, "Get gud or gEt r3kt no0b". I apologize for... whatever I said that pissed you off. While I'm not particularly bothered by it much, this kind of thing is what scares off newcomers. I appreciate the insight though. While this isn't "solid evidence", IIRC some of your videos show how much of a factor luck can play (I haven't watched in a very long time, don't quote me on that) They might have been early game though. Which you yourself said is flawed. Still, it's something that could have and should have been handled better imo. That was my main point from the start. Also Just because people have gotten through something doesn't mean not luck. But I see your point. If you go by my posts, that means I got through it too. Although my L+ early game was just Frederick Emblem and a LOT of resets. My opinions probably are a bit biased because of that, but I still do think it can be luck based. While I can't speak for anyone other than myself, as someone who doesn't really play that often anymore, I don't remember every detail and thus, a lot of resets are made. What I meant is that while they take out the randomness of an enemy getting a lucky 10% hit or unlucky 10% miss or guaranteed half damage or so, the luck factor I was referring to is simply which unit gets the skill. IIRC if one of the units in the prologue chapter had vantage + and luna+, reset. reset your game now or you lose. But I see you mentioned that. If I were to restart my l+ run, this is an excellent source of information. I never thought to utilize breaker skills bc I figured it would be a waste of a skill slot due to the hawkeye mooks running rampant. In fact, I never relied on dodging at all because of it. Maybe that's why my L+ runs always fail miserably... Well, one of many reasons. I should restart it and approach things differently.
  6. Lol You're right, I am a noob lol. But I meant what's luck based about it is that the skills are random. You could be (and are likely to be) that unlucky guy to get swarmed with a bunch of luna + enemies and then you're screwed because if you can't take them out fast enough, it's up to the RNG if you can survive or not. And sometimes because the game decides to throw that ONE guy with luna +/hawkeye at you, Game Over unless dual guard decides to kick in. IMO Enemy phase is hell when luna+ or counter is involved because I basically have no defense stat. And my units are penalized for not being able to one shot the enemy general that for whatever reason has counter. I am forced to rely on vantage wrath criticals to kill them before I can get hurt by my own attack. Which is luck based unless I have 100% Critical. And if they have vantage+, my unit has to be able to survive the hit, then survive their own hit. And Anna help me if something like astra activates.... Nosfertanking is a thing but it won't help if my unit gets taken out in one hit or deals less damage than received. Especially if counter is around. On player phase, I need to rely on galeforce to kill them all before they can do too much damage. But If there's a lot of them and if they have pavise/aegis+, I'll need to get a lucky crit or my own luna or something. Which relies on luck. Unless I'm going about this the wrong way entirely, (Which is likely) in which case please show me my error. I know it's possible to beat, I just think IS could have thought of a better way to increase difficulty besides giving the enemies BS skills.
  7. Wait Tharja has a Trophy in smash? I didn't see that in the leaks. .__. All I saw was Shulk, Shulk, more Shulk, and duck hunt dog. Implies that Lucy isn't good looking lol.
  8. Who needs laguz royals when you have Wrath/Resolve Eddie? I always used to use laguz royals, but that's probably because I needed them since it was my first FE game and I was too noob still am I'd rather not use them now because they make it too easy. I'd rather use the entire Dawn Brigade (Even Meg... oh dear) because Favortism. Naesala is too good though. He's squishy but who cares? He never gets hit.
  9. Blazer's Ultimate Tutorial covers this.
  10. Well, that's a good point. Despite hating it with a passion, I still enjoy the game very much. I've spent about 300 hours playing Still I think it's flawed. Another thing I think needs to be nerfed or cut is the forge. At least in FE10, you could only forge iron, steel, or silver and base thrown IIRC They were good enough to warrant use but not so good that they outclass the legendary weapons. In 13 you could forge brave weapons. WHO THE HELL THOUGHT IT WAS A GOOD IDEA TO LET THE PLAYER FORGE BRAVE WEAPONS? You can also forge nosferatu and Aversa's Night. Once again, WHO THOUGHT THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA?
  11. You can't always cover the forts in time. Especially when you're forced into a situation where you have to turtle through. Also, you have to pray to anna so that you don't get paladins or other units with high move and luna+ and hawkeye that can close in on you in the very turn they spawn in and luna+ your face with perfect accuracy. (thank goodness they don't get brave weapons) Yeah there's ways around it, But it's still pretty luck based if you ask me. IIRC they don't always warn you, but fair point. Note, it's not as much the ambush spawns that bother me as much as it is the skills. I'm just saying, it makes the ambushes even more BS. Without shit like luna + and hawkeye and Pavis/aegis+ etc, it wouldn't be so bad.
  12. I think the lunatic + skills were too unfair. Ambush spawns are even more bullshit than they ever have been. Hey. I see ya working real hard. Killing some mooks. Lemme just spawn over here behind you real quick and poke you with this here lance. Oh you have a defense stat? That's too bad. (Luna + activates). GG fgt! Get r3kt! . L+is far too luck based. You may or may not get a map full of assholes with counter and hawkeye or an ambush spawn full of Luna +. And if you're unlucky they will tear you a new asshole. At least they don't hit you with the BS ambush spawns until later in the game. But still, it's unfair design. Challenge shouldn't be based on random deaths that you have little or no control over. That's just frustrating. It's less of a matter of skill than it is a matter of whether or not Anna feels like making your day miserable or not. Yeah it's true for general FE but it's far more pronounced in FE13 L+. I know I could just not play it if it frustrates me. But it could have been handled much better IMO. Wat? Never mind. Lol BK can't even use swords. IS trolled him.
  13. I got bored with Shadow dragon halfway through. I shamelessly grind in fe13 I generally feel bad for the Jeigans so I like to use most of them until somewhat late game. I always have at least 1 character as a favorite, so I rng abuse and feed them all of the kills just to make that one character roflstomp the game. (Usually the cutesy girls like Florina) Tried very hard to pair Seliph and Julia up in fe4 for incest lulz. (In the end I didn't realize I wasn't supposed to reset and so, I failed miserably. Used the Jealousy method) Once stopped playing fe4 for two months because I just because missed the bargain ring in chapter 2. Never touched any of the Japan only FEs except FE4. I actually used Leonardo for Endgame in FE10. Barely played FE8. Convinced that Ephraim/Eirika twincest is canon. Never managed to beat FE10 hard mode. Pairs in FE13 based on hair color. Tried very hard in fe9 to not solo the game with Ike... didn't work Cleared fe7 with only 3 supports. No A supports. Arena abused in fe7 in first playthrough. I hate "Ests"
  14. I dunno. I never cared much for affinities. I mean I liked them, they're nice but meh. When playing GBA FE, I generally don't care about affinities. I don't even care much for supports bc in the long run. you really don't even need them to trivialize the games. To me, the boosts they gave weren't all that worth the trouble when I could easily clear the chapters regardless. There wasn't much incentive. Of course I did it for canon (lolwut? Most pairings don't have canon) but that's really it. In PoR/RD, I was too noob and didn't even know what they even did. In Awakening however, supports gave stat boosts, hit/evade/crit/etc. and increased dual strike/guard. IMO, that gave me a clear incentive to go for supports (which wasn't even hard because lol pair up, which you should be doing anyways). Although there's unlimited supporting so you only have to think about your s support. And just support with as many random people as possible. GBAFE did better in that aspect by limiting supports. You actually have to think about who to support with. Still, I find the new system better. That being said if affinities returned with a more useful, practical effect, I would love that. Amina Affinity.
