  1. Thanks for the advice, everybody! EDIT: http://www.clipstudio.net/en Clip Studio Paint is one paint program I've seen quite a bit on pixiv. It's advertised specifically for those drawing manga or otherwise anime-style artwork.
  2. Is there any difference between the 2 paint programs that are noteworthy? I'm thinking about going into digital drawing myself after seeing lots of cool fanart but unsure where to start even as I do some research. Currently, at the moment, I'm leaning towards Paint Tool Sai since it seems to not lag my computer unlike Clip Studio Paint, which is known to lag if other software programs are open and may have been responsible for crashing Google Chrome multiple times when I tried it. (I'm using the trial versions of the 2 paint programs). Or should I go "**** this" and stick with GIMP? I'd also like some advice on drawing tablets. Cintiq and other drawing tablets with graphics monitors seem cool but pricing is a major turnoff for me, so I'm most likely would be using regular drawing tablets. Any sort to recommend? I've heard quite a bit about the Wacom Intuos kind. Pricing, compatibility with the paint apps and functionality are my main concerns with tablets.
  3. You can always go vanilla and use +HP/-Lck. +Mag/-Lck can also work as it gives you some extra points of damage on the Bolt Axe and lets Morgan be better at Magic. Aversa as Morgan's mother -- consider this question: would you waste a skillslot and some defense just to use dark magic outside of the Dark Mage/Sorcerer class?
  4. Recently, using my copy of Pokemon X, I put together a Pokemon used specifically for capturing Pokemon: Pokemon: Smeargle Ability: Technician Hold Item: Silk Scarf Nature: Adamant (+Atk/-Sp. Atk) EVs: 252 HP, 252 Atk, 4 Def Moves: False Swipe/Hold Back, Spore, Soak, Gastro Acid In my copy of Pokemon OR, the game in which I transferred this Smeargle to, Smeargle helped me secure Pokemon so easily -- Kyurem, Landorus and Giratina are each caught in 1 ball discounting the opening Quick Balls -- Dusk Ball for Kyurem and Ultra Balls for Landorus and Giratina. False Swipe and Hold Back are identical moves and cannot directly KO the target, leaving the target at 1HP. 40 Base Power is pitiful, but STAB and Technician boost it to 90 Base Power, with Silk Scarf boosting it further to 99 Base Power. Spore is obviously for putting target Pokemon to Sleep, optimizing the chances for a successful capture and has 100% accuracy. It also allows Smeargle to have free turns to spam False Swipe/Hold Back and can prolong the battle for possible uses of Timer Balls (and preventing the target from using Struggle quickly if the battle goes that long). Soak is so useful in catching Pokemon. It turns the target into a pure Water-type Pokemon, which can potentially remove STAB from the target's moves, allowing Smeargle to survive hits better since Smeargle has poor base stats overall. However, the real bonuses are the following: -Smeargle can deal neutral damage against Rock-type and Steel-type Pokemon, which would normally tank Smeargle's False Swipe/Hold Back. -Ghost-type Pokemon, which are normally unaffected by Normal-type attacks, will be open to False Swipe/Hold Back once Soak is applied. -Grass-type Pokemon, which are normally unaffected by powder moves like Spore, will be vulnerable to Spore once Soak is applied. -Electric-type Pokemon, which cannot be paralyzed by default, can be paralyzed, in case you decide to use Thunder Wave or Glare to paralyze an Electric-type target once Soak is applied. By that same token, Ground-types, which cannot be affected by Thunder Wave, can be affected by that move once Soak is applied. -As the target Pokemon turns into a Water-type Pokemon, you can use Net Balls over Ultra Balls -- Net Balls have a 3x modifier to catch rate when it is used for catching Water-type and Bug-type Pokemon, which is more effective than Ultra Balls' 2x modifier. Gastro Acid shuts down the target's ability, which can be useful, albeit situational. This means that Smeargle can effectively give the finger to abilities that can normally give it trouble like Pressure, Storm Drain, Vital Spirit, Insomnia, Overcoat, Static, Flame Body, etc. The nature and EV spread is primarily to maximize False Swipe/Hold Back damage and to allow Smeargle to take some hits. I didn't feel the need to invest in Speed since Smeargle's uninvested base 70 Speed is enough to outspeed plenty of Pokemon as long as it doesn't get paralyzed, especially at lv. 100. The setup is great for lategame/postgame. What are your favorite setups for catching Pokemon? Post them here!
  5. Mega Rayquaza got banned from the Uber tier and got placed to the Anything Goes tier (a complete FFA; the only rule is the endless battle clause). The only thing that I can think of that is cheaper is running hacked and illegal Pokemon ie. Shedinja with Sturdy ability with Mind Reader, Sheer Cold, Recycle and Agility and holding a Lum Berry -- nothing short of being hit by Taunt and entry hazards and forcing it to use Struggle (PP stalled or Taunted) can shut it down. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QXa4BIereQI
  6. Adamant, Brave, Lonely and Naughty are all Attack-boosting natures. And Selfdestruct and Explosion aren't as good as they used to be since before Gen. 5, the target's Defense gets cut in half during damage calculations, making Selfdestruct and Explosion have effective base powers of 400 and 500 respectively. Certainly not the case in Gen. 5 to the present. And yes, the Choice Band is used to raise the holder's Attack stat by 1 stage but restricts the holder to using only 1 move.
  7. Today, I tried to search for Plusle in Omega Ruby, which is rather difficult since it can only be found in Horde Encounters in that game. However, the problem can be remedied by using Honey deliberately start a Horde battle. So, on Route 110, I kept spamming the Honey item hoping to encounter a horde with Plusle in it. In one of the attempts, I got a horde that has only Minun, but one of them is Shiny! (I did soon find a Plusle in a later horde encounter.) Other Shiny Pokemon I have encountered are: -Gyarados in SoulSilver -Dwebble and Shelmet in White
  8. Regarding Deoxys, if you defeat it or flee from it during the Delta episode, you do have a second chance -- you can rematch Deoxys at the top of Sky Pillar once you defeat the Elite Four once more after finishing the Delta episode.
  9. Another caveat I have with Pokemon ORAS: it's rather glitchy. I'm having a hard time getting several post-story legendary Pokemon to appear even though I have met the requirements for going to the mirage spot and it's already been days since I last encountered some legendary Pokemon that is part of a trio. Non-Hoenn trio legendary Pokemon obtained: Mesprit (can't get Uxie or Azelf to appear) [requires Pokemon with max Friendship to appear] Suicune and Raikou (can't get Entei to appear) [requires Ho-oh or Lugia to appear] The only legendary trio I have a complete set of are the Sacred Swordsmen (Virizion, Terrakion and Cobalion). [requires Pokemon with 510 total EVs]
  10. My mistake. Was thinking that the saves are loaded into the cloud similarly to Powersaves and codes.
  11. Yes, the 3DS Action Replay Powersaves device can create Save Backups if you have the physical copy of the game (it also has the option to automatically create a save backup every time you apply cheat code(s)) though the backups are stored in a cloud, not in your computer hard drive.
  12. I don't know what to think of her. However, her battle entrance animation makes her look demented. I honestly don't care too much for her themes (along with Wally's battle theme) since they don't really seem to fit in Pokemon or the character herself. The main things I like about the Delta episode are: capturing Rayquaza and Deoxys (though Rayquaza is stupidly easy due to story requirement -- you can possibly catch it at full health with a Pokeball if you're willing to bother with that), the 4-trainer battle of you and Steven vs. Courtney and a Magma Grunt (in OR) which is reminiscent to that of the 4-trainer battle that takes place in Pokemon Emerald at the Space Center, and the cinematic in which Mega Rayquaza destroys the meteor -- the music, though sounding like some cheesy Japanese opening theme, reminds me of one of the Japanese opening themes from the main series Pokemon anime as well as that infamous Falcon Punch explosion scene from the F-Zero anime. As you may have noticed, Zinnia doesn't stand out too much to me besides being this character who popped out from the backwater after only appearing in 2 cameos in the main story.
  13. I prefer Sumia over Olivia as Lucina's mother. -Most of the options Lucina gets as Olivia's daughter are primarily physically oriented, making that +1 to Magic almost go to waste. -Sumia gives Lucina better Skill and Speed modifiers than Olivia does. -Lucina can go either physical or magical more freely as Sumia's daughter. -Lucina has the option of running a tank-based skillset as Sumia's daughter.
  14. For me, I went on Lunatic+ Classic just to have fun trying to legally break the game as hard as possible once DLC becomes available to use after Chapter 4.
  15. Taguel and Manakete, despite having no weapons that automatically allow them to double, have stat caps that are comparable to that of advanced classes. Edited the post to also ban Conqueror, Lodestar and Dancer classes.
  16. The Classic Impossible: 6-turn Secret Apotheosis using units only in base classes (ie. Lord, Tactician, Mage, Cavalier, etc.). Non-Apotheosis DLC is banned outside of grinding for stats and skills. Pair-Ups, Manakete, Taguel, Dancer, Lodestar and Conqueror classes are banned (ie. cannot use Nah as a Manakete or Yarne as a Taguel). Can take it up a notch by banning Rallies, Tonics, forged weaponry, Logbook units and Rescue staves.
  17. Lunatic+ Classic: it's fun trying to break the game in the hardest difficulty as much as possible with DLC, Logbook units, etc. -- just use whatever is available --outside of using Powersaves/cheating methods -- I only have the digital copy of the game.
  18. I did say that it's a usable strategy (may not be the best strategy) and I said it in the context of any situation that is NOT Apotheosis or Streetpass (which doesn't mean that it can't be used there). And there are strategies around for the Apotheosis secret route that don't require as much RNG manipulation but focuses less on tanking (ie. abuse of VV).
  19. My main caveats with ORAS are: -No Battle Frontier -The fact that many of the non-Hoenn legendary Pokemon are found by interacting with portals. That there just screams laziness to me and the portals themselves are rather cheesy. The fact that it also shows at the start of the battle (even with Pokemon whose locations do make sense like Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Thundurus, Tornadus and Landorus) just only adds to my point. I wasn't disappointed by the lack of character customization since I have never bought any customizations in X and Y. Also, customizations didn't exist in the original Ruby and Sapphire. I honestly laughed when I looked up on how pathetic Prof. Birch is in the post-story.
  20. -clap clap- GG, GG. ANY Streetpass team will get demolished by a well-prepared team. It's already proven possible that even a Limit Broken team can get destroyed by a single pair of units that don't have Limit Break, Staff support or even Rally support or even a support bonus (since the units in the pair-up can't even support to begin with). What seems to be a half-decent setup that punishes careless/inattentive players is a team of 10 male Avatars with Strength Asset and Defense Flaw, in physically-oriented classes, equipped with forged (+3 Mt, +25 Hit) Brave weapons and with the skills Limit Break, Luna, Ignis, Counter and Aggressor. However this team will get destroyed by players who do pay attention to the team's setups and can just attack them from range in pairs and use Rescue staves. Basically, Streetpass team battle strategy boils down to maximizing damage output and ensuring that at least 1 unit of the receiving player's team dies and potentially force a soft reset. Even then, it's not that likely since players can always dismiss a Streetpass team.
  21. This can only work on Normal Apotheosis since turn limits exist in the Secret route. If Rallybots, Staffbots and Olivia are allowed, then the Secret route can possibly be doable. PavGis + Sol, although outdated, is still a usable strategy in in-game situations (basically any situation that is not Apotheosis or Streetpass). Though IMO, Pavise is more useful than Aegis since units get attacked by axes, swords and lances the most often.
  22. I have absolutely no clue on what the TC is basing tankiness on. For me, I just threw together a setup that is usable in normal in-game situations (not in Apotheosis or Streetpass).
  23. Possible tank Avatar: -Asset: Defense -Flaw: Luck/Skill/Strength -Class: Sorcerer -Weapon: Forged Aversa's Night (+5 Mt, +15 Hit) -Equipped skills: --Limit Break --Sol --Vantage --Armsthrift --Pavise/Aegis/(Weaponbreaker skill)/Renewal/Galeforce/Miracle Limit Break is already explained. Armsthrift is there just to make sure the forged Aversa's Night can't run out if the Luck stat is at least 50. Sol potentially almost doubles the heal rate to 100% should it activate and activates pretty easily. Vantage is there to make sure that the tank Avatar gets the first move should HP fall below 50% due to something like Counter. The last slot depends on what's needed/available: -Pavise is great since axes, swords and lances are perhaps the most common things to be attacked by. -Aegis is there if you particularly hate magic and bows. -(Weaponbreaker skill) can work great if you particularly hate and want to kill that specific sort of weapon users. -Renewal: free 30% healing per unit's phase. Why not? -Galeforce can work if you want to jump some hapless enemy for free healing, especially if you're on low health and can ORKO a troublesome target (ie. a 1-range enemy with Counter). -Miracle can potentially save you if Sol isn't activating often enough to save you when combined with Vantage, if you took a really big hit from Counter or if you took a hit from Lethality.
