  1. I'm with you on this one. The conditional Firesweep effect is pretty much a very suspect sidegrade to CYL Lyn's Sacae's Blessing skill -- it covers every melee weapon type but it now requires Lyn passing a Spd check (for doubling assuming she doesn't have Phantom Spd 3 seal equipped). However, it does nothing if the enemy unit has DC and NCD and does absolutely nothing if the enemy unit doesn't even have DC equipped. Plus, even if she does get the Firesweep effect going, the amount of damage she could do is pretty questionable now that we have monsters like Fallen Edelgard (super bulky especially since almost every Fallen Edelgard has Mystic Boost seal equipped, meaning Lyn and her teammates would have to outdamage the heal) and Legendary Sigurd (red, bulky, and super mobile); the +6 to all stats is likely too little, too late with how overtuned some of the recent units are. It also doesn't solve the Duel effect vs. Prf skill conundrum unique to only Lyn though the Duel effect question has now been passed to her Swift Mulagir refine (though I can't see IS doing anything actually intelligent with it given the direction taken with Laws of Sacae II).
  2. Fjorm and Gunnthra getting refines gives me hope that Legendary Lyn would get a good refine for Swift Mulagir in a future update -- Lyn's Laws of Sacae II is a disappointment to me (stats are good but the conditional Firesweep effect is pretty suspect).
  3. Good god, FE6 vs. Naga is just painful. Team used to clear the Abyssal map after many attempts: +Spd/-Res Larum: Dragonslasher+, Dance, Spd/Res Gap, Spd Tactic 5*+10+10 (S-rank Summoner Support) +Spd Brunnya: Fimbulvetr, Reposition, Sol, Atk/Spd Solo 3, Null Follow-Up , Pulse Smoke, Blade Session 5*+9+0 +Spd Fir: eff. Nameless Blade, Reposition, Noontime, Distant Counter, Wrath, Atk Smoke, Atk/Spd Bond 5*+9+10 +Atk Cecilia: eff. Tome of Order, Reposition, Glimmer, Atk +3, Bowbreaker, Atk Smoke, Atk/Spd Solo
  4. About time they did something now that Camus, Sirius, and Zeke are all in the same game together. Also liked the different characters the Forging Bonds units got grouped up with. While the event is focused on Echoes characters, there's also some Mystery of the Emblem with Minerva, which puts a sense of continuity. Palla's supports are just adorable and wholesome. Also like that the Spring Whitewings got a mention. Also neat that Fjorm talks about her siblings this time instead of mentioning about her love life or her apparently imminent death. Luthier and Tatiana got the character theme treatment, with several different mages appearing in the conversation (with Canas sharing the spotlight) for the former, and several healers (Brady in particular) for the latter. Zeke's conversations feels more like an in-depth look of what could've happened during the Forging Bonds event. And neat that he gets to spar against the Black Knight -- too bad Ares missed the party.
  5. Some stuff: Next refines: Fallen Takumi, Spring Sharena, Sothe, Karla, Flora Next limited manuals: Summer Helbindi, Summer Noire, Winter Felix, New Year's Keaton, Ilyana, Nino Tier 11 to be implemented into Pawns of Loki QoL update to AR-O (danger zone tiles will be easier to see against deployment tiles). AI to be updated (includes autobattle, AR-D, and Arena Defense). So if I'm understanding this correctly, they'll remove the cinematic story movies from the game itself and just put in links to the YouTube videos.
  6. Broke the map using Ninja Lyn though I had her tank the Gronnblade mage at the start to put herself into both Desperation and WoM beacon range. (My Ninja Lyn has neutral stats with 5 merges and 5 flower boosts and has S-rank Summoner support, +7 visible buff to all stats thanks to Peony and Legendary Azura, and is receiving in-combat boosts from New Year's Azura's Hagoita and Peony's Prf weapon; she survived and ORKO'd the mage with only 4 HP remaining.) Also, Blade Session seal is stupid strong on Ninja Lyn.
  7. Sparked for Fallen Edelgard. Got: -Spd Dieck +Atk Hilda Grima (manual) 2x Fallen Edelgard (including spark) NFU for days
  8. It seems like regular Arena fights are borderline impossible this week without pulling for and using Fallen Edelgard -- she seems borderline invincible to a lot of budget Arena core units. EDIT: Got my deathless Arena run done though it still took several tries even after switching Alfonse's Prf weapon to Armorsmasher+; still had to contend with stuff like Ninja Lyn and such.
  9. Blade Session seal can potentially be very nasty if used by a DPS unit that's in a team of 3 dancers. Can be nasty on Ninja Lyn though she may have to choose between Spd/Def Rein or Savage Blow C-skill to run Blade Session seal. Not really excited for Zelot. His weapon is nice for supporting allies but that's pretty much it; I guess it could work as a nice sidegrade or upgrade for a Performing Arts Azura or an effective upgrade over New Year's Azura's Hagoita+. Skills are otherwise pretty meh since we got Atk/Def Form as a seal last month. Probable that he'd be an axe cav that's focused on Atk and Def given the skill choice and the sort of growths he has in FE6 (his highest non-HP growths are in Def and Str though given how his stat growths are in FE6, he could very well be a mediocre all-rounder axe cav that would get powercreeped or be deemed less interesting by the next F2P axe cav that gets released in like the next 2 months).
  10. Aside from Saul, this is a pretty underwhelming banner. Groom Zelot being yet another F2P axe cavalier isn't exactly helping matters, either. Saul: Odd Recovery is nice if the player didn't spark for it on the Winter 2020 banner. Makes AR-D teams immune to Isolation-inducing effects from Mila and Bride Fjorm. C Duel Cavalry 4 can make CYL Lyn and Claude have a resurgence in Arena modes. Return is seen used by aggressive AR-D teams. Shanna: Her Prf bow reminds me of Legendary Alm since her bow deals true damage based on Shanna's Spd. Juno: Aerobatics fodder is nice, I guess. Her tome looks OK though it's mainly going to be useful to some support-oriented blue tome like Dancer Rinea (who already has a Distant Guard 3 tome). Catria+Thea: So Triangle Attack is now a status (double attack if near 2 allies). Her Harmonic skill looks interesting but it's not as insane as granting another action to an ally seen with Duo Peony or Harmonic Dorothea. At the very least, it'd benefit Catria more since she'd be able to quad attack. Zelot: Another F2P axe unit so likely a huge zzz... Probably is going to get an Atk/Def version of Juno's weapon.
  11. I can get behind a lot of these ideas though there is the sad truth that Lyn, being a Legendary Hero, is an Arena unit by intent. She still has that unique problem of being forced to choose between the Duel skill (G Duel Infantry 4 for her case) and her Prf A-skill, something no other Legendary Hero faces (at least until C Duel Flying 4 gets introduced to the game or Grima doesn't get a Duel effect in Dragonskin). For stuff like AR, the changes you proposed would be great for Lyn, but for Arena, no amount of updates can fully fix Laws of Sacae II unless Lyn gets the 175+ BST Duel effect as one of the effects of Laws of Sacae II (or Swift Mulagir, I guess).
  12. Lyn would pretty much need to have a Duel effect that puts her at no lower than 180 BST scoring bin as one of the passive effects for Laws of Sacae II. 175 BST would no longer be enough for her unless Laws of Sacae II has other, powerful effects due to the existence of Duel Cavalry skills; as it stands, Hrid can actually score better than Lucina and Lyn since R Duel Cavalry exists and Hrid has a Prf B-skill in Freezing Seal -- it's only a matter of time before Gunnthra, who has Chilling Seal (II), also scores better than Lucina or Lyn with the likely inevitable release of G Duel Cavalry. Lucina already has a very good Prf positional assist skill which already makes her much more of an interesting unit than Lyn is. Lyn would need to have something big going for her in order to stand out as a unit, especially since she's currently not a particularly good unit in both combat (generally considered the worst Legendary Hero) or scoring (she and Lucina are currently tied for 2nd lowest scoring Wind Legendary Heroes and they would become the lowest scoring Wind Legendary Heroes once G Duel Cavalry 4 becomes available). With Legendary Ryoma receiving a major upgrade in Bushido II (alongside his Raijinto refine), perhaps Lyn could receive something good. Hard to say for what sort of skills Lyn would be wanting as part of her base kit since she has a multitude of problems, especially since her intended use case is Arena modes. I also wouldn't expect Lyn to receive a refine update for Swift Mulagir; Ryoma and Ike are currently just exceptions since they only got their refines from sharing their Prf weapons with their OG versions. -Mediocre/low (52 listed Atk at +10+15 without Atk Asset and with Swift Mulagir equipped; 57 in-combat if Lyn meets the allies check). -Low Def (28 listed Def at +10+15 without Def asset or with any skills equipped). -Her Spd's OK but nothing to write home about (46 listed Spd at +10+15 with Spd Asset and with Swift Mulagir equipped; 51 in-combat if Lyn meets the allies check). -Mediocre Res (37 listed Res without Res asset or with any skills equipped). -Her Prf skills lack clear synergy; both skills require her to surround herself with allies but her A-skill requires the foe to initiate to have any effect whatsoever while her weapon grants only offensive boosts during combat. Possible new base skills: Deadeye: could be good for Legendary Claude, CYL Edelgard, and CYL/Legendary Dimitri; not useful for Ryoma since Ryoma has Iote's Shield in Bushido II and Ryoma has color advantage over Lyn. Null Follow-Up: Could help Lyn do some damage since Impact and armored Fighter skills are common in Arena but may be perceived as a waste due to how many units in the regular pool have NFU (6 units in the regular pool; 4 of which are green) and can mean little if Lyn couldn't do damage anyways Ruptured Sky: would be great for her, especially since Lyn doesn't come with a special by default but that assumes IS would even consider giving Ruptured Sky to somebody not named Byleth Lull Atk/Def, Lull Atk/Spd, or Lull Spd/Def: they all could be very helpful since Rally assists are ubiquitous in Arena Ruse skills: wouldn't be surprised if this gets thrown in since Lyn does have Rally Def/Res by default; of course, IS could cheap out and just give her Rally Def/Res+, which would be a huge OOF. Time's Pulse: an impossibility since Lyn doesn't have a base special (unless IS decides to give multiple new skills to Lyn) Joint Drive skills: could be useful and can synergize well if she still uses the allies check
  13. Awakening vs. Jeorge+Gordin: ATiki pretty much breaks the map; in Infernal difficulty, she only really struggles against the lance armor. Team: ATiki, CYL Lucina, Cordelia, Donnel (filler) Blazing Blade vs. Legendary Alm: Took several tries but made it. Team: Lyn, Duo Lyn, Harmonic Tiki, Bride Ninian
  14. The LHBs so far: Tellius vs. Heath: Sothe, CYL Ike, Reyson, Ashnard Archanea vs. Morgans: Draug, Sheena, Caeda, Maria Magvel vs. Flame Emperor: Eirika, Tethys, Young Innes, Duessel
  15. Yeah, it was retroactive (same could be said for dancers and the CYL1 units).
  16. It's pretty telling that IS knew that Fallen Dimitri and Fallen Edelgard are overpowered since both of them could not appear in randomized maps at all (so Training Tower, Tempest Trials, and Forging Bonds as well as Allegiance Battles, Mjolnir's Strike, and Rival Domains). This is the first time they've done this for a non-CYL/dancer unit since Surtr, who was released on the latter half of 2018. At the same time, Knoll, Emmeryn, and Kaze could now appear on randomized maps.
  17. Did my freebies on the new banner. Got a Mikoto to show for it. At least I have another Flash healer now since Edelgard's going to be a problem in Arena Assault in the coming weeks.
  18. Ryoma won big from the refine update -- getting DC and NFU on one weapon is insane. Same with Legendary Ryoma (gets DC, NFU, Dodge, and Iote's Shield between his weapon and B-skill) though Chrom (especially one with Deadeye) still rules Water season with an iron fist (and Dimitri can still be a problem, I guess). Ike and BK's refines are boring but they help out -- extra stats to catch up with the competition and the cooldown acceleration allows them to easily proc their signature specials assuming they got some premium stuff to work with. (ie. Ike with Breath and Special Spiral; BK with Special Fighter). Hardin gets more out of the Gradivus refine than Camus does, though Camus could make the refine work (I guess with something like Mirror Stance 3 and Lull Atk/Def or Lull Atk/Spd).
  19. Looking over Edelgard's skills, it becomes apparent that she's built so that Byleth (a unit a good number of players have at some point thanks to the Three Houses launch promotion) would appear to be a hard-counter for her -- Byleth's Creator Sword nulls the Wary Fighter, Guard, and Breath effects by default and Byleth comes with Ruptured Sky natively, which would deal a poopload of damage on Edelgard since she's a beast unit.
