  1. While Kyza is important to acknowledge, he's not good rep. In the Japanese text, he's an okama, like he's literally called one and somewhere between a gay man and a straight trans woman. Okama is something people might label themselves, but it's not something you should be calling someone. He uses atashi (cutesy feminine, same as Mist/Mia) and is stated to have a man's body, but a woman's heart. Devdan/Dandev also uses atashi, but his quirk in Japanese was him speaking like a woman, and he's clearly a joke. Kyza is... a lot worse rep than Leon. Both might be stereotypical, thus carrying homophobic vibes, but Kyza gets the complication of transphobia too. Here's a discussion/translation related to that. While it doesn't make the story better, it makes the game better, in a sense. It makes more people feel included and is honestly a pretty simple change. Making the story more appealing for some people... technically does make it better. Maybe not the story specifically, but the game itself, yes. Adding queer representation doesn't take anything from the game, but adds appeal and interest for many people. And makes the game stay in the spotlight longer, as queer people will think more positively of a game with queer rep and likely promote it and hype it for longer. Adding LGBT characters is good for business, at least in the West, despite the West usually censoring LGBT characters/rep (which has been confirmed for at least two instances in 3h).

  3. Birdo is actually a lot more complicated than that. In Japan and America, Birdo was called "a boy that thinks he's a girl". This is an obvious jab at transgender people - Birdo even has a preferred name in both America and Japan. In America, it's Birdette. After a bit, Nintendo of America didn't like something about Birdo's gender, and erased all script indicating she isn't biologically female (hopefully they figured it wasn't cool to make fun of transgender people...), and while Japan got... At least slightly less offensive at their jabs at LGBT people "seems like Yoshi's girlfriend... But is actually his boyfriend!?" Birdo - rather Birdette - is by all intents and purposes a joke about how transgender people are confused/mentally ill, as evidenced by her original text, and how Japan never dropped the insistence that Birdo was a guy who thinks he's a girl.Vivian is a transgender woman, and is actually handled pretty well - her sisters, who were depicted as in the wrong with how they refused to call her anything but a boy, even using her sex to mock her. America erased this though. Sorry for rambling. Foleo is different compared to Birdo and Vivian. Birdo is a joke, a mockery of transgender people. Vivian and Foleo are both depicted in a sympathetic light (as evidenced by Foleo's support, in his case). Vivian however, is transgender, and Foleo is a cisgender male who likes feminine things. I wouldn't be surprised if Foleo became an offensive joke instead of a sympathetic character by NoA. It would be disgusting, but that's more likely to happen than erasing his gender indentity, in my opinion.
  4. Ah, he has a rather cold personality, so a lot of people dislike him, I think? People started joking that "Sakura died wtf Takumi" or something. I think that's it, at least.
  5. I like it. It helps me bond with the characters and a lot of it is cute. I can understand why people don't like it but the main thing is that fanservice sells. FE would've died without how much love FE13 got, and the fanservice probably helped a bunch. I'm not gonna let something optional and honestly kinda cute ruin a game for me :9
  6. It's unclear at this point. There is a rumor that certain actions will prevent deaths. To give you more of an answer though...
  7. He's definitely a kuudere or maybe dandere, haha ;D
  8. I don't think so. His FEamie lines indicate a more passive/submissive personality, kinda quite, wants to come as cool? I'm on my phone but if anyone wants to post a link or something
  9. I'm still not for the Nohr pairings because you still go your whole life thinking of them as your sibling... Like, if you went your whole life thinking of someone as your brother/sister, and then when you're 18 or whatever, and you find out you're blood related? So you're suddenly ok with marrying them? And having sex? Even though you seriously went your whole life thinking of them as your brother/sister? Idk. To each their own.
  10. I doubt it will be as lewd/consistent But I mean we have "I want to be manhandled" as one of the tamer lines from FE13. I don't think a character saying "Ahh it feels so nice when you touch me" or "i can't wait for tonight" is that bad
