  1. The thing about Ross is that he starts at a lower class than normal units. So while most can promote once, Ross gets 10 extra levels and an extra promotion as well. He's nothing special growths-wise, but the extra leveling room helps him, so he's often worth training.
  2. Haven't played 1-5, PoR (so expensive), 12, or Revelation. Dang, I'm bad at this whole FE thing. But anyway... FE10>FE7>FE8>FE13>FE6>Birthright>Conquest>FE11
  3. Glad to have you. Don't worry about awkwardness, we're on a video game forum. You're certainly not the only one. As for the rules, just do your best to follow them. Unless you purposely break them, you shouldn't really get in trouble. Again, we're glad to have you.
  4. Awakening. Overall, a solid game, but many flaws that hold it back, keeping it from deserving the reputation it has earned among many newer fans to the franchise.
  5. Ok thanks. I'll put Chapters 6 and 7, possibly 8 up tonight or tomorrow.
  6. So we are allowed to bring along undrafted units for stuff like that without incurring a penalty? I'm about to start Chapter 7 right now, so that will be hugely helpful if that is true.
  7. I third what they said. Just so you know, you can use undrafted thieves to get needed promotion items, but that's it.
  8. Klein. Chapter 4: 6/25 Messier than I would've liked, but oh well. Marcus rescues Roy and charges down the middle. Thany backs him up then moves south at the very end. Lugh fights a few dudes. Marcus drops Roy to let Clarine recruit herself Turn 5, and Roy seizes on Turn 6 after Marcus ends Erik's sorry existence. Chapter 5: 3/28 Marcus opens the gate Turn 1, kills off a lot of enemies. Clarine and Thany combine to rescue drop Roy 3 spaces from the throne on Turn 2, while Lugh fries a nomad to keep Thany safe. Turn 3, I have to rig an 8% crit to kill a mage (who moved himself directly in front of Dory >:( ), and then Lugh and Marcus kill him so Roy can seize. Stats: Roy 3.37 19/7/5/7/8/5/0 Marcus --/4.32 34/10/14/13/11/9/9 Thany 6.59 20/5/9/17/8/7/7 Lugh 2.33 17/5/5/6/5/4/5 Clarine Base everything That's all for tonight, unless Cyas makes his pick. Then I'll pick as well.
  9. Chapter 3: 7/19 Certainly not the best of starts for me. Thany charges up the left for self-improvement and to recruit Lugh, while Marcus carries Roy through the castle and kills off mooks. Hopefully next chapter will provide a nice break from all these tight spaces which are really screwing over my positioning. Units Roy 2.54 18/6/5/7/7/5/0 Marcus --/2.75 33/9/14/12/10/9/8 Thany 3.71 18/5/8/14/5/6/6 Lugh Base everything (literally got no experience in this chapter)
  10. Chapter 2: 7/12 And now my inexperience at this game/general lack of FE skill really begins to show. Marcus and Roy killed stuff in the south, Thany grabbed the Armorslayer from my undrafted units, etc. I got screwed over by having Thany only able to drop Roy 6 spaces from the throne on Turn 5, and then I resetted for 10+ minutes on Turn 6 trying to get good RNs, but it was not to be.
  11. I don't believe so. If I go north at the beginning to get to the gate more quickly, Marcus has to crit one of the fighters in order to advance because he doesn't have enough speed to double. Going south leaves him just out of range to drop Roy on turn 3 and kill the boss on turn 4 PP. Also, I pick Oujay. I'll do Chapters 2 and 3 later today.
  12. Oh yeah I did Chapter 1 yesterday as well. Chapter 1: 5/5 Not having anyone to fight besides Marcus and Roy sucks. Without extensive critical rigging, it's hard to go about this chapter optimally. Marcus had to drag Roy south on account of the fact that he would get boxed in up north by fighters he couldn't ORKO. I'm sure a four turn would have been possible, but it would've required a lot of rigging. Everyone is still at base.
  13. Haha it seems my sarcasm was lost on you.
  14. No one WANTS to see atomic bombs blown up in the Middle East, and we surely don't want an excuse to use weapons of such destructive force, or even less deadly weapons. But when such a grievous offense (and this is far from the first one) has been committed against a powerful Western nation, the rational course of action doesn't seem to be "let's sit around and hope they don't do this again" when ISIS has obviously shown that they are willing to carry out terrible attacks against us. Whether or not military action is the right course is up for debate, although I definitely think that it is, but the point is that we need to take some type of action at this point. Also, that last sentence makes me wonder if you understand about fear and its relation to power. Having such power is a part of making others listen to you, especially ones that are unwilling to be rational and insist on carrying on violent acts of terrorism.
  15. Yeah, I noticed that on CNN while looking for news about the attacks. That...makes no strategical sense, to say the absolute least.
  16. This is simply horrifying. 140+ have been confirmed dead, Regardless of what you think our response as an international community ought to be, I think we can all agree that it's time to wake up and take action. Terrorist acts like this are happening too much, spiraling out of control. While I don't claim to know the best solution, I can confidently say that what we are doing now is not that.
