  1. Now that I notice it both Kamui's sword and his dragonstone don't have durabilty. Then why money still exist? In Gaiden weapons didn't have durabilty, but there weren't shops either. I hope durabilty doesn't disappear, it's a core mechainc of FE games. Please IS don't turn FE into FFT.
  2. I just noticed something that wasn't present in the American direct. https://youtu.be/sMWGe657t8g?t=38m20s In the European one it's made a distinction: Fire Emblem Hoshido and Fire Emblem Nohr. Is this a subtle way to tell that this won't be a single game?
  3. Neither of them. Let's slaughter both of their armies. They both seem really interesting. I think I'll do Hoshida first and then Nohr, just to gradually increase the difficulty while playing. Nohr's presentation looked a lot better IMO. Plus Marx is a total badass.
  4. I don't even care if it comes out in 2016 and it will destroy my high school graduation exam grades. It looks so GOOD. That is all I could have said. Anyways, IMO it's going to be a single game. If there were two, they would have said it today. The hype is real.
  5. Asking for a FE Direct on the 20th would be too much, wouldn't it? All that I'm interested in are FE If, Bravely Second and Xenoblade Chronicles X. It'd be also cool to know more about the collaboration with DeNa. That would be awsome, but after the last E3 I think that we were lucky to get at least Earthbound. The European Direct will start at 11PM UTC 0, for anyone interested. I'm not completely sure about it, so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
  6. Glad this is back. Can't wait to see how hard will be to train Sophia. Let's hope she gains Speed, unlike Lillina, who's surely making his father proud. Truly the rightful heir of Mother Ukraine
  7. Other than Beastfoe, be sure to get every Beastslayer you can buy from Aimee. Have at least 2 and Sothe's utility later on will be much improved. And trust me, if your DB units turn out bad(my Edward did and I had some trouble for that) Sothe and his Beastkiller will be a huge help. Aimee also sells Arms Scrolls every now and then, so be sure to get a pair, they're useful. Laura can turn into a much better version of Micaiah if you train her. As soon as you get Paragon(x2 EXP), stick it to her and abuse staves. Since they give fixed exp, getting to Lv 10 shouldn't too difficult. Once you get to that level, just promote Laura with a Master Seal. Getting her to Lv 20 isn't worth the trouble. Also give her an Angelic Robe(you'll get one in a few chapters). Laura has pitiful growths in defences(20% Def, 35% Res) but she's far better than Micaiah because she has 70% growth in Mag, Skl and Spd. Micaiah is powerful and has Thani, but Laura can double and can promote whenever you want. Having a reliable mage that can actually kill enemies is really helpful after Part 1.

    FE8 Skill Ideas?

The reason why I like Deadeye is that you put the enemy to sleep, not the increased Accuracy or the tripled damage. If I wanted overkill damage I'd have said Aether. By putting the enemy to sleep you secure the kill by using one of your other units(a low-levelled one, for example) or you can forget about that enemy for a couple of turns and concentrate your attacks on other enemies if you're being swarmed by them. With other status conditions is different, as Silence only effects magic users and Berserk is really useful only when used from afar. Alfred though told me he's working with new status conditions, similar to the one that Uther has in Chapter 7(iirc) of FE7x, which halves Speed and Skill. A version of Deadeye with new statuses instead of Sleep would be really cool.

    FE8 Skill Ideas?

You're right, what I wrote is the effect in PoR. In RD it triples damage and puts the enemy to sleep(the latter is kinda useless, since you've probably already killed the enemy). Yeah, like Beastslayer/Dragonslayer. I said x2 damage(maybe x1.5 is better) because I feel that x3 would be OP. That kind of enemy would pose no chance against your unit.

    FE8 Skill Ideas?

    - I think Deadeye could be a good skill. It doubles the user's Accuracy and puts the enemy to Sleep. I loved it in RD and IMO it isn't overpowered(lolImpaleandAstra). - Another one I liked from RD was Corrosion, but I don't know how hard it could be to code in the game. - FE13 Vengeance. I know the following aren't procing skills, but IMO they'd be awsome skills to have: - Shade and Provoke(Shade would be perfect for an Assassin), but I think that would require messing with the enemy's AI to attack one unit instead of another. - Charisma, Hex/Anathema or any other skill which raises nearby allies' Hit and Avoid. I'd love a version of those skill which buffs the whole team, similar to Leadership Stars in FE5, and I'd love even more to see it spammed on the enemy team(basically FE5 Chapter 22). -An innate damage bonus on some kind of units, for example a mage that can always do x2 damage on armored units. - Gamble/Parity as they were Tellius games, with the option of either doing a normal attack or doing one with the effect of the skill active.
  11. I really don't care about the map. Sure, it gives a nice image of the world, but FE games without maps did that too. Shops are surely a neat thing to have handy everytime you need it, but I never had a problem with having some spare weapons either. One thing that always bugged me was that, for example, after Emmeryn dies, you can go and do whatever you want, like go beat Risens and all the sadness of the moments fades away. FE8 did this better than Awakening by having some chapters happening one after the other without going to the map. Plot-wise the game is just better without a map, IMO.
  12. I didn't like the way some of the supports in Awakening went from "we barely know each other" or "we're just friends" in the A support to "I love you, here's the ring, marry me". Of course not all supports are like that, but I'd still prefer to see that between one support and the other the relationship is growing at a steady pace, and doesn't feel rushed because of plot elements. Since children are not likely to return(at least I hope so) I'd like to see less focus on the quantity of supports and more on their quality. The lack of children would be a good reason for supports between units of the same sex.
  13. I think they will give more info and the date of the Japanese release on a future Nintendo Direct. They'll surely talk about the plot and the characters. The basic mechanics will be the same as Awakening, so I don't think they'll focus on that. New classes would be cool to watch, too! I don't think IS is going to remake old FE for the 25th anniversary. The ones before FE7 were a lot different from Awakening, they should change too much things to make it appealing to new fans. Instead I think they will make new Amiibos, like the Super Mario series ones that they announced at the last Nintendo Direct. A limited edition of FEif with a book similar to Hyrule Historia would be awsome too.
  14. This is a really well done analysis. The only thing I noticed is when you were talking about the unit that has the fiery mace: looking at her more closely I noticed she resembles, at least in hair and clothes color the unit that seems like a fighter in the scene where Hinoka is moved to the cavalier, rather then the cleric. I think that that the weapon she's using is similar to the magic weapons in older games.
  15. Awakening did this with Levin Swords, Shocksticks and Bolt Axes... They just weren't that useful since there a lot of units were good in Str/Mag but bad in the other. On top of that Ragnell, Gradivus and Helswath exist... In the trailer though you can see one of the units use what seems to be some kind of axe/mace that uses fire. That would be cool to see. Another thing the trailer showed were Katanas, Naginatas and Maces. If they are similar to RD Greatlances and Poleaxes that'll be a nice surprise. I wonder how they'll be different from the normal kind of weapons since weight is not a thing anymore. A retun of the status staves would be great! They really made some chapters in old FE difficult(and frustrating) enough that you'll always want to have a spare Restore staff ready to use. FE6 did a great job spamming status staves everywhere, expecially 16x, where it was full of Berserk staff, the AI is set to hit first who has a Restore staff and then those who have low Res(basically everyone but the magic users) and there were long corridors with bolts that damage you, like in the Tower of Valni in FE8. I'd really like to see something like that again!
  16. He sees her naked in the B Support, then she sees him naked in the A one. In the S support they marry. Really realistic.

    Children

If they make something like a time gap a la FE4, I'd be fine with children. Otherwise, no. They were pretty cool in Awakening, but they would also break the game(MU!Nah of Chrom!Cynthia are exemples of this). A lack of children would also mean more original characters different than the ones we get at the start of the game.
  18. If FE14 has grinding and a map like Awakening, PoR's support system would be silly. You could litterally have all the supports completed as soon as it's given the opportunity of using something like Reeking Boxes or DLC. I'd prefer to have a limited number of supports per run, with a possibility to reach S-rank(but no children please). That would make convos much more tought out and not bland as they were in Awakening. In games like GBA ones, supports were a way to not only make your units stronger, but also to discover their past, their interests and their feelings about what's happening in the game. To make an example, someone who has never played FE7 sees that Rebecca can support with Dart. Normally, it would be strange that a pirate has any link to a village girl, but through supports you discover(I'll put it under spoiler if anyone hasn't played FE7/doesn't want to know) For Awakening I feel like they went for quantity over quality when the developers were making the game - probably because it might have been the last one - and I hope that doesn't happen again. I still wonder what were they smoking when they tought of "since we've seen each other naked, let's get married". IMO, M!Avatar and Tharja have one of the best S-rank Supports of the game.

    If DLC?

This is a perfect answer.About the DLC's content, of course there are going to be maps for grinding, making money and finding legendary weapons. About the others, though, in Awakening there were a lot of elements referring older FE, and in FEif they might(I hope they do) reduce those citations to make more original maps. I'd like to see more maps like Apotheosis, that would be fun.
  20. You are absolutely right about this. Awakening had its flaws, but is was really a great game. One thing I wonder about FE14 is the sense of "new" the trailer gave me. When IS was in the process of making FE13, they though of it as the possible last of the series. In the game there are a LOT of things taken from the old ones. For FEif, I think the guys at IS think about the series as safe, and they might want to press forward, to create something new. That is proved by the facts that there are two new FE games announced, and one of them is a crossover. The trailer also shows what seems to be a new world, with new characthers and new possibilites. Of course the main core of the game is going to be the same, we already saw that Pair Up is a thing. What I'd want from this game is that they take elements which made the series what it is and use them to make this game the best they have released thus far. I only hope they won't use the elements that I didn't like, but if they do, so be it. Level design is one of the most complex things to plan when building a game, expecially for a SRPG. In a game like FE I'd like to accomplish the desire of an higher challenge of some of the players with a difficulty in which if you make an error, it is only your fault and yours only for making it. That can be done in multiple ways, but certainly throwing suicidal enemy with OP abilities at you isn't the way to do it.
  21. About that, the game becomes easy when you decide to make it easy. Grinding isn't a bad thing, simply you mustn't abuse it, unless you want the difficulty to drop. It is necessary to gring in some points on the higher difficulties(I think Lunatic+ is nearly impossible without grinding), but again, that could be avoidable if higher difficulties didn't mean enemy units with crazy stats and bullshit abilities, but better placement of the units, wider range of weapons(like Beastkillers in early chapters which hinder your Jeigan/Oifey and you have to use other units). One other thing I'd put in higher difficulties is some gaiden chapter not accessible when you're playing Normal and Hard, for example. Something like 19xx in FE7, a chapter which is not necessary to beat nor gives you any unit, but just adds new elements to the plot, maybe hidden ones.
  22. Since Europe has 5 different languages(4 if English isn't counted), translation is likely to take more time than in America. Awakening has came out on April 19th in Europe, two months after the American release. But on the other hand, Nintendo has done things like SSB4 which was released first in America, then in Europe and last in Japan, or Bravely Default, which was released in Europe two months before its release in America. Who knows. I think it might come out in the fall of this year, since it's coming this summer in Japan(August, I suppose), at least in America. I hope it won't come too late or I'll have to isolate myself trom the Internet if I don't want spoilers
  23. I think one important factor to consider is that the game's engine is clearly Awakening's one. That means they didn't have to do everything from scratch, so they had more time to do other things. I hope good map designs are among this. Surely they are introducing new aspects in the game, like new kinds of weapons(katanas, naginatas and maces were shown, plus the mace did some fire attack), new mechanics(swords are now strong against bows, maybe that is for all waepons at 1 range, while when you're at 2 range the bow user gets the weapon advantage, like someone speculated) and maybe new classes(female fighter and ogres?). We still know too less to understand how the game'll be, like an old style FE or an Awakening copy. Since again this is the same engine Awakening used, I think there could be a lot of aspects IS could bring back, like Casual Mode, Lunatic Difficulty, an Avatar, DLC(you all know this is coming),all of which I'd like to see. On the other hand, there are two major aspects of Awakening's gameplay I wouldn't like to see at all. First is reclassing. I know this is become an important aspect of the series since Shadow Dragon, but I really dislike the way IS used it in Awakening. With reclassing you are able to make one unit into another totally different one. While in Shadow Dragon the use of reclass was limited as the number of units in the same class branch couldn't be higher than a certain number, in FE13 it was infinite. That means you can have as many units being in the same class as the game lets you. That ruins the variety, IMO. In the old FEs every unit felt like it had one and only role, like the frail Peg Knight who if trained gets awsome Speed, or the Fighter who gets lots of Strenght but is frail and slow. The possibilty to use all of those units in various ways gratly rose the replay value. This, combined with grinding, kills the replay value for me. Expecially since you can just get some get Streetpass units, grind a lot and then the game becomes a piece of cake. The second is children. I really liked the parent system in Awakening, but I hope they aren't doing it again, for two reasons. First, beacuse I don't want the plot to be tied again with time travelling. The story seems to be really cool from what we can see in the trailer and I'd be a shame if they reused plot elements. The second is that children, expecially Morgan and whoever is the other Avatar's son/daughter, are really broken, even without grinding. Just think of Aether!Chyntia. S support are a nice thing that futher adds characther identification and they make you feel that the Avatar is really you, but there can be S Support without children. Other than this, surely a return of the Trinity of Magic, Steal and weapon weight(with con) are all mechanics I'd really like to see.
  24. Happy Birthday, Vincent!

  25. The run is going great, though it lacks a little bit of the faliure FE6 had. *cough*Ward*cough* You might want to promote Erk or Lucius right away in chapter 17x, but those extra levels could be nice, and this isn't FE6. Too bad Pent comes so late. Anyway, Dart should be used. He lives in a boat full of manly pirates, he doesn't know how to handle a girl and he can become a Zerker. Tell me someone manlier than him in this game except Hector.
