  1. Hi again! Sorry for the late response, I keep getting busy! I've played through PoR once, I was kind of hoping it'd reveal who he was in that one (so many unanswered questions if you only play PoR in my opinion). I've yet to get my hands on Radiant Dawn, which is why I was really concerned over the Black Knight. Just would suck to have his mystery taken away, you know? As long as it doesn't give me a name to go by or anything I think I should be good, I currently don't have any suspects as to who the Black Knight is right now. As for Renown, don't you just trade in the points to unlock an item once? Say you decide to trade in your points for the Book of Naga or the Boots. You can only have one of those in your game, right? You can't just use up the Book of Naga or the boots and just keep using your Renown points over and over for them. I'm sorry, I don't think I quite understand the smaller amounts part. Let's say I clear the game with 5000 Renown then go to another file, grind a little and spend so I'm around maybe 3000. If I start a new file, the Renown for the file should be 3000, right? So basically the other files Renowns will overwrite each other, is what I'm getting. Thanks for the help, I think I'll be getting the DLC once I finish Shin Megami Tensei IV. I heard there was a promotion to get $30 in the eshop because of FE x SMT, it might be over though. Regardless, I've poured a lot of time in Awakening so I'll be getting the DLC with or without promotions. Thanks again for all your help!
  2. Hello, It's been a long time since I've asked a question in here (I don't know if you can quote a 5 month old post so I won't do that just in case.Thank you Czar_Yoshi for the explanation on Streetpass and a bit about the FE game mechanics/history. I finally managed to set up a team and battle a bunch of people, it's a lot of fun). I have a few questions, one again on DLC. The only reason right now that I'm really interested in the DLC so much is I can't recruit some of these Avatars I streetpassed since they have DLC classes/Skills on them. It's a real bummer. Lastly, I keep reading about reknown? What is important about it aside from using your points to buy weapons? If I remember right it also transfers over to your newest file, but I could be wrong about that. Sorry for the newbie questions, I should be past this stage by now. :T
  3. Took the words right out of my mouth. I wondered why the enemies never paired up if I could, it'd make it much more of a challenge and, I think, more even between the two factions if both could pair up. Or you know if you hate pair up if there was a way to turn it off so no one could.
  4. Pretty much this. I liked marrying to see different character reactions...but you can see different character interactions in other Fire Emblem games without marriage either. If they do bring marriage back, I don't care. Same goes for the Avatar (It'd be cool if he/she was a Lord character though, then we're not trying to fight for the spotlight like Avatar and Chrom).
  5. First playthrough as female Avatar I left Brady alone, I felt bad for it too. So second playthrough, as male Avatar, Brady got Morgan and I left Severa alone. If I had the option, I'd have them all marry somebody, cause no matter who it is I feel bad that they end the game alone. Same goes for the 1st gen who don't end up with a wife (Poor Kellam...)
  6. Never really bothered me that you couldn't name them. I always figured the spouse named them. Maybe they named them after a Morgan they knew or perhaps while the lady of the two was pregnant some person named Morgan helped them with something. I kind of think that Morgan having their own name makes them more of their own character rather than just the Avatar's child. That's my two cents on it anyways. Morgan would become one of the best and most forgetful bathhouse owners ever. To all those people who get Morgan as "Linfan" I always thought that name was pretty cool too, I'm a little jealous.
  7. Ah, I didn't know that. I thought it could only heal just the wielder. Thank you, I'll mess around with it a bit more now that I understand. Sounds like Gaiden was just an experiment more than anything but that's just me speculating (then again, wasn't Awakening kind of like an experiment too? I mean, the FE game before Awakening had a self-insert sort of but Awakening took it further from what I understand). Oh, I thought Premonition was part of the Prologue. Woops >.o Speaking of Streetpass, can someone explain how it works? If you streetpass someone, does their Avatar appear on the world map as a green ally unit like the Einherjar? I've never streetpassed anyone so I'm curious on what happens.
  8. Eh, I think Owain shines best as a support character rather than the main character. If the next game HAD to be anyone from Awakening, I'd want Priam. I think they should just make an entire new cast next game though.
  9. I knew it! I thought I was just making stuff up in my head that there was one. Why wouldn't it give EXP? I'd guess it'd be too spammy, then again Rescue is kind of spammy for leveling up healers. Thanks for the quick answer!
  10. I'd ask "how so?" concerning Gaiden as a black sheep but I feel like I'd derail this thread into an explanation of all the plots for the entire series lol. All I can really say is, damn the rest of the series seem a lot more complex, I know PoR is at least acting like that for me. To keep on topic I'll ask a very newbie question to you guys: Can a healer heal themselves? I swear there's a class E staff that I could give to, say Lissa, so she can heal herself if no one's available but I can never test it. They usually die on me or I clear the map before then so I'm just curious.
  11. Welcome, I've been a lurker for a while on here too. PoR has been a fun game to play for me as well. Hope you enjoy your stay here as much as I have!
  12. Like I said, being nervous is okay. I was very nervous going to job interviews and introducing myself to a potential boss. You're right, keep trying and heck you might not be so nervous once you know the drill on what employers want (resume, dress code, etc). It's okay if you don't have contacts, it just makes things easier it's not what makes or breaks the deal all the time. I've found, for me anyway, that the most important reason my boss hired me was because I was trustworthy. If I said I was going to do something, I did it. So if the potential employer says to meet you for an interview at 2PM, show up 10-15 minutes early. Show that you really want this job and they might pick up on that, because you gave your word that you would show up on time. (You wouldn't believe how many people would walk through my workplace late for their interviews, it was ridiculous).
  13. I almost went through Canada when I was 14-15 on my way home from visiting family and a few years ago almost went to Scotland but had to say no for personal reasons. I'd love to actually go to both of them though, that'd be wonderful. When I get my Masters I'll save up some money and just do one big giant trip I think, it'd be fun. There's too many places I'd love to visit! (Like Australia, Japan, all of Europe, the list could go on...)
  14. I'm watching Mobile Fighter G Gundam and I'm surprised at how much I actually like it so far. I'm only maybe 8 episodes or so in but it seems pretty good. Chibodee Crocket is hilarious
  15. I didn't believe it when my sister told me about it, I thought it was a messed up joke...then she sent me all these links and a reddit thread about it and it's trending etc etc and I've been sitting on and off all day getting upset. I never met the guy but it's odd to think he's not here anymore. When a celebrity dies I normally think that it's sad and move on with my day, but Robin Williams was a special kind of celebrity for me. He could do goofy and serious roles and was heartwarming to watch on the screen. That and I grew up with a lot of his roles too...I dunno, I just know the world lost something pretty special today.
  16. So if it is a DLC skill that's last equipped, does the child just inherit what's next in line for that? Like let's say Limit Break is the last skill and the second to last is Luna, does that mean they get Luna?
  17. I pulled a Vaike and on a bossfight chapter only a handful of my guys had weapons (everyone else's broke right away or didn't have any at all).
  18. Aw, I like Frederick. The first time I played that guy saved me so many times where I should've gotten a game over. He's a newbie's best friend! I agree with you 100%. When I first got her I couldn't stand her (still can't stand her) she comes off as too bratty for my tastes. When I tried building supports for her with her parents though, my god, she was a monster. Next playthrough if I needed to send out a solo unit she was the first to go out, just cause she's so great. And lol yeah I see the "your opinion is wrong" arguments/debates around here, but I was thinking in comparison to other sites, this place isn't as bad with it if it does occur.
  19. Sounds like FE4's story has more in it or is more complex, so that makes sense that avoiding spoilers would be hard from what you've told me. Gaiden sounds fantastic solely by calling it strange, strange is up my alley. As for Hardin, I can see how that'd be confusing (still sounds confusing and I don't even know what the guy even did) but I understand what you mean. FE4 and finishing PoR before the DLC it is then. I'm glad I asked, that would've sucked to have a bunch spoiled by DLC. Thanks for answering my questions.
  20. From what I've seen of Serenes Forest is there's more emphasis overall on gameplay discussion than compared to other sites I've seen. No one actively seems to put down characters and if someone likes a character, they're usually left alone and not hated on for liking them. If there's any formed opinions on characters here, 9 times outta 10 the discussion is treated respectfully and quite mature rather than "Chrom is teh best!1!!" Like this, you don't really like Severa but you admit she's a good unit. Others would probably not even touch her if they don't like her character-wise. Plus, you're just stating your opinion, no one's really gone out of their way to say "no your opinion is wrong".
  21. That would make sense, it'd be kind of silly if you said yes and they're like "Let me tell you anyways!". I mean, I've heard of their names before, just no idea exactly "who" they are. (Man a lot of the DLC uses past characters doesn't it?) Having Marth say he's the Hero-King doesn't bother me at all, since Awakening in its own story says so too. I wonder why FE4 and 5 seem to want to be spoilery while wherever Alm and Celica are from (Gaiden?) doesn't sound like it tells you much at all. Shadow Dragon is the start of Marth's story, right? So I should focus on FE 4, 5, and Shadow Dragon before I buy the DLC (though if I really want to be safe I just play them all) Thanks for the answers guys, it helps!
  22. Hello I'm new here too! Yeah getting skills even for just one character can take a while, let alone just the Avatar themselves. I hope you enjoy your stay here. :)
  23. I like the blue hair for Laurent, really suits his outfit pretty well. It's a shame that if Miriel was an option, Laurent wouldn't have access to Aether (though does he really need Aether?) I know! You'd think Chrom would take more interest in his Shepards and the Khans! Owain especially since, I forget what made him say it to her, he tells Lissa that he'd want a cool weapon from Uncle Chrom. His supports could've been about him wanting to mess around with Falchion or something.
  24. Hmm, alright I think I'll hold off on the DLC some more then. I'm almost done with Path of Radiance anyways (I think) then I'll figure out what to do from there. It'd suck to have them ruin the fun of the other games for me. Thanks again for all your help!
  25. Oh, sounds like Paralogue 23 then for the most part. It's alright if I don't get them so long as they aren't things like "by the way, this guy is the ultimate bad guy of our game and he did that to this country" then I should be good. Aw darn it. So it's for the most part Genealogy of the Holy War that has the spoilers in the DLCs? Thank you guys very much, I've been holding off and avoiding looking at almost anything related to the DLC for quite a while now cause of this.
