It's kinda imperative of the fleeting struggle between individuals vs corporations, and the inevitable change that Youtube is undergoing to give channels with the backing of large companies as opposed to smaller single people channels. This is shown by Youtube Rewind 2018 becoming the most disliked video on Youtube, and the video itself featured big named actors and celebrities in more prominent roles than Youtubers.

At least that's how it was explained to me.

I subbed to him for the meme. Watch a few videos, got some good jokes. Transaction finished.

I feel shitbag is far to harsh a term. Obnoxious and loud, sure, but shitbag? Not really, or at least from what I've seen of him that isn't the impression I get.

Yeah it's more a company versus individual debate and it's an interesting battle (that he for the moment seems to be winning).

Outside of that I kinda agree. He's loud (don't find him annoying) but he's not a shitbag. He does dark humor and does sarcastic videos alot, but that doesn't make him a shitbag. That tittle alone is left to the Paul Brothers and other idiots like 69, etc.

A few comments on formatting, at the very least since I don't have the time to scrutinize at builds right now (partly because I still haven't figured out what daggers are really supposed to do in the current meta):

    • Use Shift+Enter to start a new line without starting a new paragraph. This lets you condense the stats and skills into a more coherent block that is easier to read.
    • Include the + and - versions of each stat in the list of stats in her overview. It helps to know if any of her stats have +4 or -4, and I know some of them do.
    • When listing builds, use stats at +0 merge level for easier reference.

Okay I'll try to edit it soon. Thanks !

    I can't blame her either.

But going on Virion's track record, she has nothing to fear. lol.

Doesn't Virion have a pretty bad track record though? Like Cherche hounds him for being horrible in their supports and confirms that he's been chaising pretty much anything with a skirt.

I would say that at  least Inigo would kill his dad for trying that though.  XD

Yeah, I can see her frailty being a huge liability. You would have to keep her safe, but that could possibly take away protection from a healer. Although I usually had Lissa promoted by Ch10.

"Not worth the grinding that is better spent on Robin..." Again, she doesn't compete directly for experience, since she's most likely dancing to get experience. Although I can see how your argument works when it comes to employment slots.

Although, in my experience, I always found dancers to be more useful on harder difficulties because I found it more beneficial to train a smaller group of elite soldiers rather than allow one more person who may take away experience away from someone else. But that has just been my experience, and not indicative of everyone's.

I like their supports too. Although my main issue with Virion is that his father support with Inigo seems so out of character for him.

Yeah they seem really out of character. That and I tend to not pair them up because Olivia in her S Support mentions how shes unsure if being with him makes sense, since she's afraid of him cheating on her (which I can't blame her for thinking).

And to be honest. I use her alot for dancing since it's super useful in the harder modes. Extremely useful in Apotheosis especially.

PoR western release without Japan's maniac mode is super easy and forgiving to first timers.

RD is mostly just hard in the first arch / early chapters and some of the later chapters where you play as Micaiah and her faction, because your main lord goes *squish* to everything and most of your units are kinda trash. But the difficulty drops off pretty hard in the mid to late game once the game starts throwing monsters like Haar and the Griel Mercenaries and the Laguz royals into your line-up.

For first time PoR, general advise that I give out to new players:

    • The advantage of being a flier or on horseback is even higher then usual in this game, due to the way the "Canto" skill works (you'll see what I mean) . All your cavaliers are peg knights and wyvern riders are busted. Play accordingly
    •  Be aware that you can only use the [Forge] once per chapter
    • PoR throws ridiculous amounts of gold at you--more than you'll ever need to stock your entire army with regular weapons and items--so don't be afraid to hit the forge every chapter. You're in no danger of running out of funds.
    • A forged weapon with improved might and accuracy can turn even the jankiest underleveled unit into an immediately competent attacker , capable of  consistently hitting and damaging enemies and getting the kills needed to level up. If a unit joins underleveled or is starting to drop off, but you really like them and want to see them take off, consider hitting the forge and giving them some custom war gear.
    • Take the time to go through all of the barrack conversations and narrative text and cut scene dialogue. Fe's writing is at its strongest in the Tellius games. You're doing yourself a disservice if you're playing through the game for the first time without slowing down to appreciate it and take it all in.

      ...thats all I got...

      Enjoy!

Yeah I planned on taking the story really slow as I always do. I'm the kind of player that runs through the game reading anything and everything (I got all the Supports in Awakening, the majority in 7 and 8, and I'm missing only a few in Shadow Dragon and New Mystery as well as SoV). But it's good to know the righting is on point.

    Also thanks!

  6. "Do my best!"

So, in year 1, we were blessed by the Olivia with the best art and VA (cause lets be honest that art is great), and as a fan of Awakening and her charcter I had to go and get her. I was unlucky and lucky enough to get 2 units (one of which was horrid and the other manageable). Now that her rerun has passed and I've had time to invest more into her as time went on, I dove in, merged her and boosted her up. Since I've posted this elsewhere (other sites) but never here, I'm going to post my 2 major builds for her and 1 weird experimental build. First off, stats though. Can't showcase a unit's build until I post their stats now can I?

    The Statline

    HP: 34

    Atk: 28

    Spd: 34

    Def: 16

    Res: 28

    BST: 140

    The Skills

    Weapon: Dancer's Fan+

    Assist: Dance

    Special: None

    A Skill: Distant Def 3

    B Skill: Blaze Dance 3

    C Skill: None

So baseline she's a  useful and very viable mage tank alongside being a reliable support unit as are most if not all dancers in the game once invested into. However, in my time using her (and this is before Mystic Boost was implemented) I always found that, she couldn't really do much else aside from tank mage hits. I would have preffered to be able to fight units at melee range (as daggers do in Fates), and I loved using her so I had to invest into her somehow. Then came along our free Takumi and his sacrifice was not in vain! For she's come in handy in a million different events.  So, here's 1 pricey, 1 budget, and 1 experimental build I've decided to brandish her with (one of which, the last one, depends on my luck in the current Hero Fest or later this month, the LHB).

Note! "I run Summoner Support! Thus her stats are slightly boosted. Keep that in mind when doing calcs regarding how she's built."

    Build #1 The Tactician's Guard

    Spoiler

    The Statline (at +8, +atk-res)

    HP: 43

    Atk: 36

    Spd: 39

    Def: 21

    Res: 30

    Weapon: Barb Shuriken+ (Defense Refined)
    Assist: Dance
    Special: Blue Flame
    A Skill: Close Counter
    B Skill: Chill Atk
    C Skill: Odd/Even Atk Wave/Atk Tactic
    Seal: Atk/Def Bond/Close Def

This build with my Olivia's IV's (+atk-res at +8) keeps her def and res at a nice 29/30 with the bond active and or 30/36 with Close Def active (though I'm hoping for Def/Res Bond on a TT). This synergizes amazingly with the tactics team she's in, allowing her to reach a very well rounded 35/36 or 36/42 for Olivia and as such makes her an extremely powerful unit. Now, why would I run such a build opposed to pure support? Well, my units tend to be either extremely bulky, or support, and as such, Olivia works as a bodyguard of sort (mostly for my Robin who doesn't run CC yet cause I'm not going to go crazy on him). She can refresh units, and take a fair bit of damage with her atk reaching 53 or staying at 48 with Atk/Def Bond and Close Def active. Do note I'm not accounting for Chill Atk as a debuff for the enemy she's fighting since setting her up to take the hit from said enemy, at times, is purely suicide. As such this is for moments when my team relies on her and she's the last line of defense, if you will.

    Build #2: The Cheerleader

    Spoiler

    The Statline (at +8, +atk-res)

    HP: 43

    Atk: 36

    Spd: 39

    Def: 21

    Res: 30

    Weapon: Barb Shuriken+ (Defense Refined)
    Assist: Dance
    Special: Iceberg
    A Skill: Distant Def
    B Skill: Chill Atk
    C Skill: Atk Tactic/Drive Atk
    Seal: Res Tactic/Def Tactic/Drive Spd/Atk/Def/Res

This build relies mostly on some of the premises of the other build, but lends itself to endgame activities such as GHB's, LHB's and BHB's. The buffs she ports and debuffs she can bring make any fight much easier,  since she has access to the majority of build options for buffs ingame. As such, this is a purely utility set, and focuses alongside being a cheerleader, and a potent one at that. She can do damage as well, however due to the likeliness of her being close to units as usual, dancing or being a wall if need be, she sports blue flame as an easy way to kill something that my other units couldn't finish off (preferably ranged). She can also tank a fair set of melee and ranged units due to her set of IV's (though your situation may be very different)

    Build #3 Mojo Blocker

    Spoiler

    The Statline (at +8, +atk-res)

    HP: 43

    Atk: 36

    Spd: 39

    Def: 21

    Res: 30

    Weapon: Barb Shuriken+ (Res Refined)
    Assist: Dance
    Special: Blue Flame
    A Skill: Close Counter
    B Skill: Mystic Boost
    C Skill: Odd/Even Atk Wave/Atk Tactic
    Seal: Close Def

This build is more along the lines of her base potential, and that is her ability to easily combat mages. This in turn, alongisde Mystic Boost now being a wonderful skill, allows her to combat dragons as well (something the first build can do) but in a much easier way, not needing as much effort regarding IV selection or buffs. Her Res (assuming neutral res at base and then +8) would be nearly 34 and or 38 without buffs. With buffs like tactic buffs, or simple drives she'd hit the higher 40's, and be able to take down mages, and dragons all the while maintaining her health at a very manageable levels for combat. However since Mystic Boost is new (and still kinda rare) this is more a future project, if it even works out in the end.

PS: Last Build seems awfully inefficient given my Olivia's IV"s (+atk -res at +8) and how she's mostly rocking the first setup 90% of the time and as such is mostly just me thinking aloud. If you have any ideas on it, go ahead and lemme know why I'm crazy or if it's even good overall.

Also, if you have any advice, or are just curious about something go ham and ask away.

PPS: Any grammar errors lemme know.  A lot of text and it's easy to F-up somewhere.

    Edit #1: A lot

  7. Hmm, I like writing short stories (and maybe longer, unfinished ones) and I like how Argent is another name for Silver (in this situation Quicksilver) and Sable can be a form of badger/wolf or, a sword. So take that as you will. I guess the most apt translation would be Silver Blade/Wolf, or Quicksilver Blade/Wolf.

  8. As for the TT< I'm willing to bet it's Christmas days. Fleeting Days can be linked to how fast the Holliday season passes.

Or it could be story for all I know. If it is story, maybe we'll get more backstory? That'll be great since Book 3 is already off to a great start.

Now the January one will be for obvious reasons new Years celebration based, so likely no story. Unless it's based off of Radiant Dawn in some way, in which case it would be Elincia, Sanaki and Micaiah which IMO would be one hell of a cool TT.

Virion and Olivia because I remember their supports being cute. Also Inigo's personality makes a lot of sense (plus I like the blue hair).

Well, don't mean to rain on anyones parade, but Inigo's philandering is Olivia's fault, actually.

Maribelle taught Olivia to hit on guys (which she didn't do anymore because she found it embarassing according to their support). Inigo mentions that Olivia's best friend (Maribelle) told her to try it with him, and he hit on girls ever since as a byproduct of Olivia taking Maribelle's advice a bit far, ridding Inigo of his regular shyness (but retaining his dancing shyness like her). That's also kinda mentioned in his father support, but to a lesser extent since the dad doesn't want his dad messing around and hitting on random girls.  So in reality, every single dumb thing he does is a byproduct of Olivia taking Maribelle's advice and making her son interact and hit on girls to try and make him less shy. Which really is quite funny.

I will say the blue hair is cool though!

I'm considering to promote an Est, but her refinement want's other Fliers near, so I'll wait the bonus line-up.

    Lol, should have known that.

Well it's a totally different type of game to the usual Fire Emblem stuff. I like the developers tried something new and Taptap was fun in the beginning, but already the second "event" wasn't interesting anymore for me.

Yeah I understand, not for everyone. It is fun though, once you get the hang of it. Though, in all honesty, it's pretty easy. The rhythms are barely hard unless you're playing 3ds Era music. (Then again I'm a music lover so, can't really say that it's easy, lol)

Olivia comes in at a chapter where most if not all of your units are level 10 plus (even on Lunatic).  She is far too frail and not worth using because she comes at such a low level.

If Olivia was around the level 10 mark she actually wouldn't be so fucking awful, but she isn't.  If she was a little more durable that would be fine too, but no IS didn't do it.

All I'm saying is Olivia just isn't worth the time and effort.  That she has a child doesn't even make it any better because he's not worth getting until Olivia has galeforce and for a unit whose only use is refresh for Apo...again not worth it.  She's as bad as Donnel, but at least you can get him almost from the beginning of the game and can make some use out of him.

Tbh I did push Olivia in a normal run and she was an okay unit.  But I dropped her to the bench in Lunatic because she isn't worth keeping, even if she got a class change and gained some levels.  Not worth the grinding that is better spent on Robin, or Lucina or perhaps anyone else.  I just tend to use Robin as an example because they take on pretty much everything and are the most flexible unit in the game (save Morgan of course).

Ohh I get you now. Well, I guess my experience tends to be different. I have extremely good luck on level up so I've been able to consistently use her in pretty much any playthrough (Lunatic + included though that one took me a bit longer to get through).

But yeah objectively she's not great stat wise, at least not unless you pour a few reeking boxes (or the DLC traning camp) and pray to Naga (or Grima) for some good rng level ups.

  12. 3 minutes ago, TheSilentChloey said:

I've put her through most of her supports and she just doesn't work for me.  Too frail and not as good as others.  And Inigo...the less that is said of him the better.  He is the bane and always gets the bench if I bother to get him.

I see. Well, one can never account for taste.

And I could see why you'd dislike Inigo. Most of the kids took me some time honestly, mostly Owain on my end.

  13. 11 minutes ago, TheSilentChloey said:

No one because she's got god awful Henry support (default support convo thus as close to canon as you're going to get) makes her out to be a slightly manipulative individual.  Couple that with her frailty compared to Robin, her son who is one of my least favourite Awakening characters and sorry girl, you get da bench.  I don't care if your boy gets galeforce he ain't worth shite.

I never listen to base supports. They're normally shite for story in general and even then I don't think those are  "cannon" or close at all when there's other hints in the supports per se. (Yarne saying his dad cheats on his mom points to Virion, Donnel talkin and acting like Brady, Inigo needs to have someone whose close to Chrom or is Chrom, and since Chrom has Sumia well that leaves Fred Boi or Rob (which is up to choice), Severa is weak to sweets, etc)

But back on topic. Olivia has other good supports though. If you don't care for the "whose the father" competition (as in who makes sense regarding patternal supports) then Donnel is great, Libra is nice-ish. Lonqu is nice as well, if you want unique situations in game then Robin, maybe Chrom if you dislike Sumia, and that's about it.  There's really few bad supports with her. Chrom, Henry, Vaike, Virion, etc. Those don't make sense character wise (not gonna go into detail) and kinda aren't great for Inigo (if I recall) .

TLDR; Why've you only based your entire understanding of Olivia on a single support? It's not like they're all bad. XD

  14. 25 minutes ago, soly said:

To be perfectly honest, I'm not certain Grima required an origin story/motivations to begin with. He's the big bad, sure, but the game's major antagonist is really Validar. I think it's perfectly fine for Grima to be just 'hurr durr evil kill everything' if the game's other villains can pick up the slack with respect to things like evil motivation.

I quite like Gangrel as a villain, but I'm not certain the other villains have picked up that slack. Still...

Yeah the biggest missing link enemy wise is Walhart. They explain his motivations post death, but it would be better if we knew what his intentions were during the war and that way, we the audience would actually know that  we in a way were the bad guys for once.

That being said yeah Gangrel was well done. His hatred was well warranted too considering Chrom's dad literally tried to commit genocide if I recall. And Validar, well he's the Gharnef of this game, wants infinite power and his dragon daddy to notice him. Not bad but nothing new.

Fjorm was the first legendary hero.  Of course, the first legendary banner started with book 2, so if there will be a new legendary remains to be seen.

I guess I wasn't specific. But you kinda answered my question.

No matter, we'll see. My bets on no new LH, but that's me.

  16. 2 minutes ago, Alkaid said:

I got the impression she'd be on the banner but we'd still possibly get a new legendary hero too. Then a new mythic in January as they alternate. It would be a little odd of them to keep her as the centerpiece of the next legendary banner when she's already been run just before it on a banner with better rates.

Was Fjorm the centerpiece of her month's banner or was Gunthra added? That might be the answer to our questions.

  17. 2 minutes ago, Alkaid said:

Aside from the current hero fest banner, it looks like all my orbs can be focused on Christmas and possibly New Year's. I don't think I'll care to pull on the legendary, beast or side banners coming up. They'd have to really get me with the new legendary hero or sneak Velouria into the beast banner to steer me otherwise.

Glad we get 2 TTs to stack up orbs for the back-to-back seasonals.

Umm, don't think there's a new Legendary in December. It says in the Hero Fest that Eir is going to be in the LHB and that Legendaries heroes will alternate with Mythic Heroes. As well as the wording for heroes being gods, but I doubt they'll do this. Alot of Lords won't have alts if they do that.

    My take on the banners.

New Power: easy skip - all units are 3-4* available.
    Christmas 2018 banner: N/A
Christmas 2017 rerun: unsure about this one though I wouldn't mind Bold Fighter and Vengeful Fighter.
Fortress skills banner: I wouldn't mind getting Kliff but this is looking to be a skip since I already have Innes and Lukas and Seth are 3-4* available. And with the units I have, I'd be having trouble finding units who would want to use Fortress Def/Res 3 aside from maybe Sheena, who already has DC.
LH banner: This one will likely see me spending orbs on - there's a good possibility that Summer Camilla and Brave Celica are going to show up on the banner. Brave Celica and Summer Camilla have fodder I want, especially for Valentines Lyn.
Voting Gauntlet banners (if any): likely to be skips
    New Years 2019 banner: N/A
New Years 2018 rerun: I kinda want Camilla so that Olivia can get Kadomatsu.
BHB banner: easy skip - assuming Cecilia shows up as the 3rd unit, all units are 3-4* available.
Tactic skills banner: easy skip - I'm not the biggest user of Tactic teams and I'd be having trouble finding units who'd use them nowadays.
FE10 banner: likely a skip for me

I gotta agree with most. Except that my Sheena would love FDR3, so I am going for it if there's no Lukas in my way.
