  1. Shanan can easily one round pretty much everything in gen 2 with Balmung, the only exceptions being Brian and Julius, and Brian is skippable. And because Balmung gives him hella avoid, he can easily dodgetank his way through the game.
  2. Huh, I was expecting Flo to be a sprite edit of Misty, but instead she's an edit of the gen 4 female swimmer.
  3. I finally caught up on this LP. I finally got Fates a few weeks back, so I've mostly been playing it and haven't visited the forums as much. I've beaten BR and am about halfway through Rev, and I can definitely understand what the OP was saying about Fates. BR's story is indeed rather inoffensive. It isn't great, but it's not that bad as far as FE stories go. I haven't played or even bought Conquest yet, but from what I've heard about its plot, I can already tell its plot is terrible. And I definitely think the gameplay is some of the finest the series has had. I really like a lot of the new mechanics. It's a shame you're not as far in Thracia as I'd hoped you'd be. I haven't checked this thread in like a month.
  4. You have like four units in general in the earlygame.
  5. Ryoma by far. I couldn't stand Xander in BR. Lobster Lord is a real bro and all around decent guy, and I love his lobster-like design.
  6. 'Sup guys. Sorry I haven't updated in a while. I've been busy playing The Sims 3 again. And it will probably be a while before I return to this, because it's my birthday and I finally got Fates today. So I'll be on hiatus for probably at least a few more weeks.
  7. Actually, I just did the math, and even if Rath procs HP for every level up to level 14 promoted, he'd only have 54 HP, as his base is 25, he starts at level 7 unpromoted, and his promotion gain is 3, so that's 26 level ups, and 26 + 25 + 3 = 54. TC's Rath has 56. He definitely got a Robe. But yep, this is definitely a blessed Rath, assuming he only got those stat boosters you mentioned.
  8. Bridget would be able to reclass to Swordmaster and Eyvel to Sniper.
  9. I like seeing the enemies. It's a shame most turn-based(which I prefer to action because my reflexes aren't the best) RPGs use random encounters. EarthBound and Mother 3 managed to combine visible foes with turn-based combat, so if all turn-based RPGs could follow their example, it would be wonderful.
  10. True. She's also level 5 unpromoted, whereas the Warrior is level 5 promoted.
  11. Why does the Rogue boss have Lockpicks? That's like giving a Nosfertank the Sol skill.
  12. Assuming no stat boosters were used, compared to his averages, he's 7.2 ahead in HP, 2 ahead in Str, 2.6 ahead in Skl, 1 ahead in Spd, 9.2 ahead in Lck, 5.4 ahead in Def, and 3.5 ahead in Res. So yeah, I'd say he's pretty blessed.
  13. I love how, other than having a point more in Luck and 2 point more in Resistance, Alicia is completely outclassed by that generic Warrior statwise.
  14. Or even so that Con works as a Con stat for Tomes? It's always bugged me that there's no way to reduce the amount tomes weigh you down by in Thracia, and I was wondering if anyone has ever made it so there is before. I would rather Str be the stat that reduces how much tomes weigh you down, because it gives a reason for non-Mage Knight mages to actually have a Str stat, but Con/Bld would suffice too.
  15. Why would you ditch Leif's personal weapon that is IMO very useful and often comes in handy?
  16. All right, let's go ahead and do... Chapter 1 Prelude Next time, we go for Genoa and hopefully recruit Ayra with little issue.
  17. Shit, you're right. Those are certainly some of the more extensive edits, so I'll give them credit for that. Greasemonkey is Koga with overalls, and Terry is Brawly with the palette and hat of a Ruin Maniac. I think the fact that the palettes were changed especially threw me off, as all the other sprites were either unedited, or had such minor edits that they were still obvious edits of existing sprites. I'm actually kind of curious if they player character sprites are edits/splices of any existing ones.
  18. All right, this isn't a full update, but rather an assessment of how the changes I've made have affected the game so far. This is an experimental run, after all, so I may as well analyze how my changes are affecting the game. The extra personal skills got removed because I figured I could add class skills instead so the enemy could benefit as well, to make the game less of a cakewalk. I also found out that the game is programmed such that literally only Ayra's kids, Lene, and Patty can inherit sword skills. I haven't removed all the added personal skills, as some are there for specific reasons. Arden kept Pursuit, for instance, because I still want Ethlyn to pass down the Pursuit Ring to Leif and Arden to not be Pursuit-less after chapter 3. I'll be showing off the new class skills and any added personals that I actually let a unit keep in the next update, with explanations as to why that class or unit got that skill. It'll be interesting to see how the added class skills affect the game. I likely won't keep them in the public patch though. The extra movement affected the game in exactly the way I was expecting, for the most part. None of my units really fell behind, and more enemies attacked my units on enemy phase, and overall gameplay felt much faster. I could also save villages faster as well. I'll admit, due to the amount of time it takes to actually burn down a village, giving the brigand and pirate classes 9 move wouldn't have affected the time it takes to save the village too much, but there's a certain village with a useful item and a rather strict turn limit as far as saving it goes, and I didn't want to risk making said turn limit even stricter. My biggest worry is how tough recruiting recruitable enemies will be. We'll be finding out soon. Bases definitely needed to be buffed, though I probably went overboard a bit for some characters. It's a bit late to change the bases of any character who's already joined, though, so figuring out the right bases will likely be something that will happen when I release a public patch and can get input from multiple playtesters. As far as weapon edits go, I'm pretty satisfied so far. I don't believe I've actually shown them off yet, so I'll remember to do that in the next update. With the exception of the lowered prices(which are to make inventory management less of a hassle for me), and Aura's lowered weapon rank(which is purely so I can see if Lewyn can pass it down to Ced), I think I'll keep most of the changes to weapons in the public patch. Anyway, see you guys hopefully soon with an actual update.
  19. I think the Greasemonkey and Terry may actually have custom sprites. I'm shocked. Indiana's is the gen 4 ruin maniac sprite.
  20. All right, just got home. Turns out the delay was actually due to a computer error or something with Delta Airlines.
  21. You can find translations of all the menus(r at least all the important ones) at the beginning of this gamefaqs walkthrough: http://www.gamefaqs.com/snes/577344-fire-emblem-thracia-776/faqs/57162 It's a bit annoying to figure out the menus at first, but eventually muscle memory should kick in.
  22. I bring bad news. Because of a storm(fuck you Florida weather), our flight has been delayed to tomorrow at 2 pm central time.
