  1. 3/15/2017 - Offense 4,341; Rank 12,929 (6:40PM PST) I'm kicking myself because one match should have been deathless but I forgot Eirika has Drag Back. I would have had a perfect run. But since my best last time didn't make it to top 10K, I think this score should be fine to stay in the <30K floor. Besides, 1K more feathers with the Arena update is so good, I think it'll be fine.
  2. I caved badly. I'm left with 33 Orbs after doing the Xenologue. Gotten many Gwendolyn's, Jagen's, and Odin's (new). One of Peri (new), Abel, and Donnel. But I got the one that was hunted: +Atk/-Spd. It seems I have an affinity with this Bane/Boon combo. Still, I can finally have a focus character for the next bonus rotation--and a dancer to boot. And hey, lances to feed to others for skill inheritance. I can't complain too badly about that.
  3. 30% heal and 50% heal is a difference. I'm feeling the difference whenever Laslow procs it and he has much higher offense than her. The dude would really love a buff on that (or Luna/Aether since he has something called bulk unlike Lucina). Jagen's Aegis is probably the best of his. Fortify Res, while okay, is eh since Linde, Nino, and Tharja, the biggest Arena offenders, have too high of magic to really try to defend against unless the unit is already a Res tank. Donnel... uh... Guess the Brave Lance could go onto someone. Drag Back could be okay to pull an enemy towards your team so you can kill them off. An issue would be if you're in a small area or narrow passageway so you can't activate it. HP+ would go to bulkier units and/or units with Breaker and that's about it. Reciprocal Aid, as Eclipse said, has situational use for Defiant or Martyr.
  4. Well, the first problem is that Laslow doesn't have Sol, haha. Second, I agree with Satsuma that her damage output is too low to effectively use Sol. Try Luna or the Draconic series. 16th.
  5. The new update raised the feather amount for offense. If you go past 4,001 points, that's 2.5K feathers. We will feast
  6. 3/8/2017 - Rank 4,573; offense 4,354 (10:42PM PST) 3/9/2017 - Rank 7,079; offense 4,354 (3:32PM PST) 3/12/2017 - Rank 8,207; offense 4,402 (1:03AM PST) 3/13/2017 - Rank 10,506; offense 4,402 (3:39PM PST) Staying in the top 10K was but a dream. I can find some solace that this is the closest I've gotten to the top 10K. I'm just not fortunate enough to get any focus characters to replace the lower stated Sully (even M!Robin and Camilla to an extent). Got to work with what you got.
  7. 3/8/2017 - Rank 4,573; offense 4,354 (10:42PM PST) 3/9/2017 - Rank 7,079; offense 4,354 (3:32PM PST) 3/12/2017 - Rank 8,207; offense 4,402 (1:03AM PST) I hope to stay in the top 10K by the end of the season. I'm pretty sure that's the highest score I've ever gotten. I'm a bit proud. The team was: - +Res/-HP Ryoma (replaced +Res/-Atk Olivia) - +Spd/-HP Sully (bonus) - +Atk/-Spd M!Robin - +Spd/-HP Camilla (replaced +Spd/-Def Marth) Ranting + post-run evaluation Question if anyone knows: I saw a Level 1 team in Advanced despite coming in with a Level 40 team. What's that all about? How did the system pit me up with a Level 1 team in Advanced? It only rewarded something like 360+ points as well.
  8. Not just that but they could be the free units. F!Robin for sure but Lissa, Subaki, and Olivia are among the special maps. Interesting. Subaki: proving he's the tankiest flier around.
  9. 3/8/2017 - Rank 4,573; offense 4,354 (10:42PM PST) 3/9/2017 - Rank 7,079; offense 4,354 (3:32PM PST) 3/11/2017 - Rank 9,884; offense 4,354 (3:23AM PST) I can just feel the dread of slipping off the top 10K. Unfortunately, my team really liked having Olivia's dance and Hone Attack. I've been tinkering with Roy but the boy is too slow (-Spd) and doesn't give support. I've lost units just from really speedy characters, Julia's, and Takumi's. I picked up Ryoma (+Res/-HP) and am seriously considering using him. Ranged physical might be the thing that's going to fix my issues if I forgo Olivia. He'll be fragile as heck but not like Roy was a tank against fast units. I've started to use my M!Robin's slowness to my advantage... so long as he doesn't take more damage down the line. A nice big Bonfire will make many units sit. If I get Ryoma up, it'll be a team of +Spd/-HP Sully, +Atk/-Spd M!Robin, +Spd/-Def Marth, and +Res/-HP Ryoma. What a strange team.
  10. To be honest, I thought Ephraim would have stomped Chrom to the ground in round two. True that Chrom comes from a modern fan game, but I would have thought the nostalgia and older crowd would have dug Chrom his grave. I'm not salty or anything from losing. It was a good match. Tip my hat to the winner--but I joined the daughter. I legitimately like her a bit. In a way, I'm okay with having spent all my flags during Chrom's campaign. It put me higher in the total ranking. And now I don't have to keep swapping to Chrom--though it was fun theorizing what units would be good with him. ... though I realized too late that you don't have to set the leftmost team first slot to the unit you want to play as. All those times I swapped M!Robin and Chrom might have cost me (unknown) defense wins. Haha.
  11. I'm debating. I definitely have enough to make a 5* (25K+) but having a hard time picking. I have a lot of 4* that I wouldn't mind picking. My first pulled 5* was Camilla (through reroll) and 4* Olivia came with that package. Non-reroll was M!Robin then Marth. You can see where I got my tried-and-true core team from. I may join Camp Sharena because I fought a 5* Sharena for the first time yesterday. Man was it hard thinking about what to do while she had Lyn and other Swords around her (this was a time I didn't have Olivia). Abel's really good to put Swords in their place. Fae is a good support and magic unit. Adult Tiki can counter from anywhere. Olivia isn't high priority for 5* but it would raise her stats a bit for Arena runs. I'm also theorizing ideas for Chrom. If I had to be completely, 100% biased and had limitless feathers, I'd probably 5* Laslow first. But that might need to wait for a better nature. +Spd/-Atk is wonky at times.
  12. Same. Same. I'm okay with Chrom/Lucina. I just picked Chrom because I had him. If I had to go with someone, it was Leo. Alas, he was a lost cause. If I also knew how the gauntlet worked more, I would've known that having the character was a small bonus, not as big as I was thinking. Oh well. I just really loved the voting gauntlet. I can't wait for more!
  13. I... actually don't know what happened in the time span. I saw when the Chrom gain difference was still minor. Went to sleep, and then it widened even greater. If Chrom ends up winning (somehow, after about two days of being behind), I'll take the fall against Lucina. I'm weary. I'm old. I'm tired. These old bones are willing to become dust for the new generation. Sure preferences. Leo >>> Lucina >= Chrom > Sharena > Alfonse >= Elise > Eirika >>>>> Ephraim I haven't forgotten 5x, Ephraim. I'd like a Wyvern one because class bias. Though sadly, probably means I'd stick with Camilla since I have her. I would really like Minerva or Jill if she was released.
  14. Oh no, please. Keep the Hinata's, haha. I like him as a character but jeez does he not look good in Heroes. Even in the skill department. Terrible shame. And yeah, people I know would say they would have traded with me if they could. I so wished trading was a thing.
  15. Thanks for that! I did have Camilla but it took a bit of tinkering to figure out what I needed to do. The Team: - +Atk/-Spd Level 40 5* M!Robin - +Spd/-HP Level 40 5* Camilla - +Res/-Atk Level 40 4* Olivia - neutral Level 39 4* F!Robin (Level 40 after killing Ursula) Swapped Marth for F!Robin who was already Level 39 4* thanks to training with Sully before. Aegis messed up a couple of my attempts. Thankfully, even a -Spd Level 40 5* M!Robin can double the Sword Cavalier under Defiant Speed. People were getting close to dying thanks to the north Ninja's Savage Blow, but M!Robin proved how tanky he can be against three Ninja strikes. Though +Atk M!Robin does need Atk buffs to kill the Ninja, else he'll be one HP shy and die from two more attacks. Literally 1 HP shy. It hurt seeing that. I assume neutral/-Atk variants won't be able to kill Ninjas unless boosted hard. F!Robin truly shined by killing Ursula on first turn, hitting the Armor coming back, then killing the Armor later with Olivia's Dance. Ignis hit the Armor after the Aegis proc so a lot of damage wasn't mitigated. Camilla tanked the north Ninja until all the other enemies were cleared. Got her into position to kill the Ninja distracted by her. Despite being -HP, she lasted enough turns to not die. She took 5 HP per hit. Can't recall if she had enough power to kill the Ninja in one shot. With Savage Blow, Olivia was at risk of dying to the Sword Cavalier that would come running through the passageway. She even had to stare down the Cavalier to dance M!Robin. Stupid Aegis, surviving the Bonfire strike. The Steps 1) Hone Atk M!Robin and F!Robin. I can't recall the effect for F!Robin though I assume she wouldn't need it. M!Robin will need those buffs. 2) Put M!Robin and F!Robin together along the passage. 3) Ursula will die to F!Robin but the Ninja will survive. Cavalier pulls him back. 4) F!Robin hits the Armor and gets danced so she can move to Camilla's south, who's positioned north to distract the Ninja. M!Robin moves in a way to kill the Ninja when Ninja initiates attack. 5) Camilla tanks but Savage Blow hurts F!Robin and Olivia. M!Robin is pretty much on his last breath. 6) Sword Cavalier has moved to being west of the Armor. 7) M!Robin severely wounds the Cavalier and F!Robin finishes off the Armor. Olivia has to dance for M!Robin to kill Cavalier. 8) Camilla moves so now the Ninja starts moving. I make sure that Camilla can be danced for four attacks the next turn if need be. 9) Camilla one-rounds the Ninja. Map clear! Phew! Glad I didn't need to train anyone during the map's period. Still going strong with having all the Grand Hero Battle units and variants.
  16. If I recall, it's like 33 damage from the Ninjas. 39 Speed. Something like that.
  17. With the posts of armors, looks like I might need to raise my only Gwendolyn if I want to attempt Lunatic. While I would like Effie, I don't think it worth it after spending some Orbs in the Prince and Princess banners. I don't know about spending 2K on her. That or I could just disregard the 4* Ursula. F!Robin is already 4* and nearly Level 40. Decisions, decisions.
  18. Beat the Hard version but I'm cautious about the Lunatic. My team of Camilla, Marth, M!Robin, and Olivia just aren't okay taking hits from Poison Daggers. Not to mention that M!Robin's targets are high in Resistance. I don't have a reliable bow-user either (Gordin but he's low leveled and 3* rarity). This will be my toughest match-up yet in Lunatic. Dance and Hone Attack. I didn't enter the building and needed her to get units out of the way or into position in a narrow area. Edit: However, I did pull a Ryoma. If my current team doesn't hold out, I might try him... though he's +Res/-HP and will be taking a hit like no other.
  19. @Thany I didn't expect to see perfection. As for the Chrom v. Ephraim, man, both sides are still putting up a good fight--and Chrom is starting to lessen the gap. Needless to say, good times were had.
  20. I searched far and wide for the elusive Laslow. Turns out I needed to spend another 40 Orbs in the Princes banner. I figured that getting 20 Orbs from voting gauntlet and having not done the Xenologue and some Lunatic chapters/paralogues warranted seeing if I would land myself a Leo. First session was a bust despite having four Reds and a Colorless. On the second attempt, another four Reds and a Colorless. Seemed like good odds if any. The two came from the same session. He was in the first Red I opened. Thought to myself, "Maybe I'll land Leo with this good of luck?" Well... (spoiler: there's an exclusive 5* involved) I try not to complain about luck in a game that's rigged against you, but I'd say I've been pretty lucky for the 58 Orbs I spent between Princes and Princesses banners. I mean, I landed yet another Selena (that's four 3* Selena's)--but at least it took me a month to finally see Hinata. Two, in fact. One 4* and one 3*. And I've nabbed myself a Palla. I can finally start seeing about other colors now. I have so many Reds trying to find Laslow, it's not even funny.
  21. I was expecting Ephraim to stomp on Chrom. I wouldn't mind losing at this point. Still, I think I'm spending flags on Chrom. There's no way I'll be ranking in Lucina. This is my last stand.
  22. 3/8/2017 - Rank 4,573; offense 4,354 (10:42PM PST) 3/9/2017 - Rank 7,079; offense 4,354 (3:32PM PST) After doing matches in voting gauntlet, I feel like trying a team without Olivia. Problem is is that any other higher support units, I'm wary of (Fae against everything in Arena, Sharena would make my team too much blue). Though, admittedly, Sharena or Roy are probably my best bets to raise my score slightly. 11 or 24 points higher in team rating, respectively. I have been seeing Reinhardt on teams which makes me consider Camilla at times. Ah well. Time to theorize while waiting for sword restoration.
  23. Sorry for my team's insults. I honestly don't like Ephraim as a character but don't see the point to be rude for a fun contest like this. I don't frequent other sites but that's still got to suck to see. Why so serious? I spent too many flags against Alfonse to get the army ranking feathers. Mistake considering the position Chrom/Ephraim is in. Oh well. That's a lesson for next time. While I'm bandwaggoning to Team Lucina should Chrom lose, I do like her enough to support. I just might not have flags to climb the ranks--though I already collected my fair share just from the Alfonse fight. There's comfort in that. I really loved this voting gauntlet. Helps with quests, doesn't cut into stamina, short timer, leniency on deaths, another method to get feathers. The whole shebang. I was wary at first about borrowing other people's units. I'm having a blast borrowing good units and thinking how to win with what I got. It might be much to make this more than once a month, but I'd love for it to be a monthly thing. Not to mention that I got to see my 4* Chrom in action and theorize good teammates for him. Sadly, he struggles a bit facing off against high leveled 5*s, but he was bulky and a good distraction. I sometimes could work his slowness in my favor for more Sol procs. S'all good.
  24. If that explains why I'm still in top 5K despite having a 4,354 offense, I won't complain. I'll probably drop as time goes on but it'll be interesting recording how my rank is with a similar score from previous seasons and not being placed as highly initially. I had Sully and messed up a couple times for deathless runs (stupid five-charge AoE and CORDELIA). So I used crests for a deathless run. 3/8/2017 - Rank 4,573; offense 4,354 (10:42PM PST) I don't think I can get higher with how my team is. I rolled a Roy but with dragons and a couple blues running amok, he's not likely to go onto the team. I have no Defense yet (though, whether that's from a bug or not, not sure). I tried fiddling with positioning before the voting gauntlet. With voting gauntlet, I've been having M!Robin and Chrom switch the leader slot. Gonna be honest: I really would have liked a +Atk or +HP Sully. +Spd doesn't make much difference for Swordbreaker (almost counterintuitive in a way). The highest she can go is 33 Atk neutral with either Steel or Sapphire Lance as a 4*. Good against Swords in general but they can be accompanied by units she can't deal with as much. Granted, mine was -HP and so took a massive hit from anything not Swords/Reds. Fact that she only has access to Swordbreaker 2 while Abel has Swordbreaker 3 at 4* makes a big difference. I miss using Abel.
