It's too bad he will have the sniper stat caps after promotion, since he will only get like 23 defense or so if maxed (can't remember the exact number, but it's low 20s).

What would you like to see in this game?
Camus The Dark Knight replied to Big Klingy's topic in Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon
Make trial maps and have Camus (and Mishiel) be a character on it (although it's pretty much assured he would be if there was any trail maps, but then again Dark Knight wasn't playable in FE9...). -
Yes because gold is sooo hard to come by in FE4 ;)

Shannons got +10 skill and +20 speed and a 30 attack weapon, he will be dishing out more damage, have higher evasion, higher shooting star activation, higher hit rate, and higher critical should he get 50 kills on a weapon. Lakche has got slightly worse versions of that (although still good) and the ability to negate criticals, plus whatever else her father gives her. Weapon durability is no issue in FE4 otherwise she would definitely be better.

How does one become a Black Knight?
Camus The Dark Knight replied to FE Apprentice's topic in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance
Villains have always been the main antagonists rather then the boss (accept maybe Garnef and Medeus, although Garnef does appear more, not sure about Judah from FE2, since I don't know the story well). Also the Villains are harder bosses most of the time. Garnef=Medeus Hardin>Medeus (Even though it was Medeus) Alvis>Julius Leidrick>Beldo Zephiel>Idoun Nergal>Dragon Lyon>Demon King Dark Knight>Ashnard I am not sure what FE10s villain is supposed to be, I thought Sephiran fits the bill (40 in nearly every stat, boss just before the game boss, the guy plotting everything, personal weapon and battle music, etc.). But there are other possible candidates. Sephiran is easier then Ashera though. -
Worst character in Part 1?
Camus The Dark Knight replied to FE Apprentice's topic in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
Meg in my opinion, I mean Fiona and Meg are in the same boat when you get them, but Fiona actually ends up alright later. Fiona has earth affinity, Meg has heaven Fiona comes with 2 free skills, Meg has one that her class doesn't really need, nor does she need Fiona is mounted, Meg has the class with the worst movement Fiona's growths fit her class better then Meg's do Fiona dodges everything if you can train her and when she is hit, she takes little damage anyway. Meg can dodge OK, but isn't a tank, which btw her class is supposed to be. -
the art looks terrible

I wouldn't worry yet, the games awhile away, and if you remember the FE9 beta screens (shudders)... -
Rules are easy, post your favorite FE class and why it's your favorite, classes that are nearly the same only have a different name or something can be counted as the same (such as shaman and dark mage for example). My personal favorite FE class is the hero. The reason I like the hero so much is because, their animation is cool (FE3 anyway), they have an overall cool look, they use swords (best weapon in FE1/2/3/4/5) and axes (best weapon in 6/7/8/9/10), and their FE3 2nd critical attack is just plain badass. They also have 1337 stats boasting good to high everything save maybe magic defense (which isn't at all bad by physical unit standards).

FE8 is way to easy to beat.

The ideas also weren't new (cough FE2 cough). -
How does one become a Black Knight?
Camus The Dark Knight replied to FE Apprentice's topic in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance
Armors and Knights are both "Knight" classes. Their original names are social knight and armor knight, or "insert weapon they use knight" (arch knights that used bows could be an exception as well as free knights who were not "standard" knights). The Dark Knight was originally a general, which is a "knight" class, changing it to "Dark/Black Knight" just made it sound more unique. And I mean come on, does any other type of warrior wear that much armor other then knights (Accept barons and emperors, but in a sense they are like lead knights)? And quite obviously nobody save a certain few know who he is, so it's only natural he would gain the title of dark knight since his armor is all black. -
Favorite Sentinel?
Camus The Dark Knight replied to Weisspraline's topic in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
I like Nephenee the best since rather good everything really, no "bad" stats, although some are not great either, but I like the high speed and her defense and strength are easily fixed by bonus EXP since she maxes her SPD, SKL, MDF so quick. Aran is good to if you can put up with his somewhat sucky speed and play time, he is sort of like an opposite Nephenee, max STR, DEF, etc., then use bonus EXP for his speed and stuff. And Nadved... he was alright, but I found the other 2 better. -
Lucia maxes speed at 40 (+10 with easy mode goddess bonus and white pool) and luck at 35 (?). So we have 135 right there. Add Ike leadership, 150, Map affinity 155, good biorythem 165, A support with earth 210, plus terrain for (10?)= 220, not sure if bonds effect it. Weapon triangle only decreases enemy hit rate, it doesn't increase the actual evasion, same with height.
-
Well in any case they DO have access to them, so that does count as something. It's like saying Lakche clearly is better then Shannon because we are not counting the Balmunk, which is rather moot. Anyway... regardless, I get your point about their stats themselves being not so 1337.

At least FE1 Marth and Roy got decent weapons though. But Alm gets the same weapon as FE1 Marth (FE1 Falchion>>>>>FE3 Falchion).
-
Actually I think I might of missed a few, but I know a got at least 6 right, although I think I got more. Like the most popular FE7 character in Japan, that has nothing to do with the game itself, so I just had to make an educated guess on that one. Oh and for the record I didn't check either.

FE1- 6/10 (You can't retreat from the arena once your in!) FE2- 4/10 (Just long, not too hard though) FE3- 5/10 (Orb abuse makes it easier) FE4- 4/10 (A couple tough parts, like Ishtar, mostly easy though) FE5- 8/10 (Could of used some more evil things to get a 10... overall pretty good though) Both FE5 and FE2 have a special mode that doubles EXP.

Not evil enough for my liking (evil laugh)...

How hard is HM (Maniac Mode)?
Camus The Dark Knight replied to Admiral "Bull" Halsey's topic in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
FE1, 2, and 3 would like to have a word with you. I'll give you 2, but 1 and 3 were the epitome of "Fire Emblem" in a way (I mean in how they play, favorite FE is of course personal preference). -
FE3 is my favorite FE. I hope it includes the story from both, since parts of book 2 were awesome (while others were annoying). They better not nerf Medeus, Camus, or Mishiel

FE8 is way to easy to beat.
Camus The Dark Knight replied to Admiral "Bull" Halsey's topic in Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones
Tana+Vidofnir+Critical+Pierce "Wow that sure was an easy boss considering I killed him in 1 hit" FE8 was indeed easy, I beat it in like 1 and a half days. It's problems were Overpowered player units Underpowered enemy units Abusable EXP and items In terms of what made it easy anyway, the unimaginative characters and story didn't help either (I liked Lute though, since she was one of the few unique characters, others just seemed copied from FE7 or nothing, near FE6 level). Valter was also interesting despite being a psycho nut (he was also easy, Ross+Dragon Axe=OHKO, no criticals or anything, althoughs it's easy to since he only has 3 luck). And I also liked the powerful foe music for the "hard" (lol) bosses theme. The fact that level 1 promoted units use the class base stats on easy and normal mode just makes me want to cry (as if they got no stats at all during all their unpromoted level ups). Hell promoted units were often WEAKER then the higher leveled unpromoted counterparts. -
Why is Devdan's name slighty different?
Camus The Dark Knight replied to CGV's topic in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
Split personality? Unless he is indeed actually attempting to BS people. -
How hard is HM (Maniac Mode)?
Camus The Dark Knight replied to Admiral "Bull" Halsey's topic in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
Enemies have like 5 higher levels, but no stat boosts. Can't view movement. Half bonus EXP. No weapon triangle. Probably some other things I forgot. Overall not that hard, or at least not as hard as FE9 maniac or FE5 or such, but don't go by me since I never seem to find anything hard. A good comparison is FE6 HM, sort of shaky at the start, but otherwise rather easy. -
When will FE start using guns?
Camus The Dark Knight replied to Metal Rabbit's topic in General Fire Emblem
Bowguns were originally in FE1, in FE3 they took them out and replaced them with killer bows. -
He is the Shrike AND Shadowhawk, they call him both actually. However I believe he is the Shadowhawk because Kennith is already 100% "The Shrike".

Best Dragon Generals of Bern
Camus The Dark Knight replied to Admiral "Bull" Halsey's topic in Fire Emblem: Binding Blade
Indeed it's probably not 100%, but it's just what I observed. It is fairly close at least, nothing is really known about how HM bonuses are calculated, but what I do know is it uses class growth. From my experience, it gives 10 "unseen" level ups for non-promoted and +20 for promoted, that's where that figure came from. Again it's certainly not 100%, but it is a close estimate at least (only overestimating by about 1 each in comparison to your figure). My Brenya had these stats in my last hard mode play... HP- 42 MGC- 30* SKL- 24 SPD- 24 LUK- 21 DEF 20* MDF 25* Which is actually higher then my original estimate, but I might have gotten lucky/unlucky (depending on your view). I can't remember Murdocks, but his HP was 70. I am curious now as to how it works... if the 10 levels theory was right they would all be getting +10 in everything with the 0 RN modification... perhaps it is decided when you start a new game and you used the code after (because 0 RNs would be ideal stats for them and I have seen higher on many occasions)? Some games decide certain variables when you start a new game, if you used the cheat after that, it would be unaffected, but then again restarting the chapter changes it I think... odd indeed... it appears to be the RNG that decides it, but it isn't. In FE4 you can do the RNG trick method to see a point of this... Use the go 1 space diagonally (2 spaces of course), have the character run, but don't wait, instead keep doing it, sometimes they will take the higher way, other times the lower way. Now in the GBA FEs you can use this to see if the RNs are low or high as you know, and you can use it to your advantage... however in FE4... it doesn't effect the RNs in the slightest..., so what causes it? Same thing with hard mode boosts, it must use an RN system separate from the main one or something, I mean there has to be a system for it, but it uses no RNs (in FE4s case, perhaps it's the same for FE6).
