  1. Excuse me? Check where Gotoh teleports Marth & co. to during the opening scroll with the world map in it at the beginning of chapter 23 of FE11. Now do the same with the opening scroll for chapter 21 of FE12. How does this sort of distance not count as "too far"? ...Or does Thabes appear on Awakening's world map at some point?
  2. I like how the equivalent of the Yato opening screen for this game depicts the Falchion embedded in Mila's skull.
  3. Not just being taken hostage this time but also over being taken hostage and taken to Valentia by Greith's men and being as inexperienced as she is compared to her sisters. Said negative view of herself made Est feel such shame over her own perceived incompetence that she decided that it would be better for everyone if she were to disappear.
  4. @joesteve1914 Here are a few things that I'd like to bring up. First, I remember Eremiya name dropping Gharnef as early as chapter 13x, thus revealing his involvement in the game's plot to be beyond doubt. However, he then goes by unmentioned for quite a while longer after that. As such, I must ask if he was actually mentioned by name this early in the Japanese text. Just asking to make sure. Second, in the ending of chapter 20 the dialogue that occurs if you unlocked the paralogue that is chapter 20x mentions that the assassins "were dispatched by Hardin and Gharnef". I don't remember seeing any indication that Hardin is aware of Gharnef's or the assassins' involvement throughout the entire game other than this bit of dialogue and yet the current wording implies that he was at least aware of a group of assassins that seemingly showed up out of nowhere and was willing to work for him. As such I feel that I must ask the following question. Is the Japanese text here actually supposed to imply that he knows about them? If it does then that's that but if it doesn't then I believe a more vague wording (if it works within the confines of the Japanese script, of course) to the effect that the assassins "were working to further Hardin and Gharnef's goals" would be more appropriate. Third, in the ending of chapter 20x the conversation between Gharnef and Eremiya mentions orphans being killed in "the war". And yet it isn't clear in the slightest as to what war is being discussed here. Is this referring to Dolhr's assault on Archanea during the War of Shadows when the forces that Camus lead conquered the Millennium Court? Or some other war? Or maybe the Japanese text isn't talking about a specific war at all? I think that this needs to be clarified. Fourth (and I've already brought this point up before but it got skipped over), I remember that one point Gotoh realizes that Gharnef plans to resurrect Medeus once more and then, at a later point and in a different chapter, Gotoh once again says that Gharnef is planning to resurrect "the Shadow Dragon" as if it is some grand reveal at this point and even though he supposedly already figured it out beforehand. Was he actually supposed to have realized that Gharnef plans to revive Medeus AS a Shadow Dragon this time around, perhaps? Because if that is what the Japanese script is actually trying to convey then that is not what the current translation is coming across as at all. Fifth, looks like waiting until after Shadows of Valentia came out was the right move after all.
  5. You got your wish in Heroes. All the wyvern riders are obtainable characters while the generic enemy fliers all use pegasi.
  6. I can see it now. Rudolf's forces bust into Mila's Temple like in the trailer, he tells Mila in no uncertain terms what he intends to do ("The Rigelian emperor would do well to state his intentions" vs "You know what it signifies") and then doing the deed while leaving her draconic corpse behind, as seen in the CGs and the very first trailer with the "Book of Valentian Revelations" thing. Absolutely badass.
  7. That scene could simply be taking place in a flashback.
  8. Rudolf fighting Mila is something I never realized I wanted before this moment. Praise Duma and the "firm hand"! Down with the "gentle touch"! Also, I didn't bring this up yet and Duma looking like Kalameet is pretty damn great.
  9. Also, the second DLC mission takes place a few days after the end of the War of Shadows while the first would make the most sense if it took place after FE12's own prologue but a little while before FE12's second chapter. So at least one mission takes place before Shadows of Valentia by default and at least one takes place afterwards while the remaining one is up in the air.
  10. I explicitly remember him using the term "from Magvelian lore", just as he does with the other settings.
  11. That stuff takes place between Marth's exile and Marth's departure from Talys. It is the three DLC missions for FE12 that happen between the War of Shadows and the War of Heroes.
  12. Surely he could just disguise himself somehow. Like by wearing a cloak. Which is what official FE12 art shows. And if he's solid enough to hold the Falchion then he is solid enough to wear a cloak.
  13. Him having a physical body would be insurance against getting destroyed as a ghost. That alone would be reason enough to try again. Also, I'm pretty sure that Chrom reacts to Jugdral, Elibe, Magvel and Tellius in more or less the exact same way.
  14. If the process was as simple as that he would have simply had his followers try again. And yet he doesn't. I always got the impression that said followers were acting on their own in trying to resurrect their leader.
  15. Once again, that isn't what is being said there at all. Also, Gharnef's soul ending up inside the Darksphere is something that happened involuntarily as a result of Starlight killing him after he created the Imhullu Tome. And no, he can't just have a bunch of his followers revive his body. If he could he wouldn't be stuck as a ghost after the War of Shadows.
  16. The Japanese language has a lot more gender neutral terms than the English language.
  17. ...No? He is trying to have leverage against Medeus by keeping humanity's best shot of killing Medeus on his own invulnerable person. Where does it say that he is trying to "control Falchion" itself?
  18. Why are you assuming that he thought that he could use the Falchion against Medeus without Marth? What did you think he wanted Elice to actually use the Aum Staff for?
  19. The Falchion's pre-Awakening and post Awakening mechanics are apples and oranges and you really shouldn't try to use one set of them to indicate something about the other set.
  20. Don't know. But if it was then there would undoubtedly HAVE to be more to this than just the purely physical rampage itself. Because if it IS supposed to be purely the physical rampage itself then this goes into the the territory of "cartoon physics".
  21. The point is that if female relatives of Anri could use the Falchion at this point in time then Elice should be able to use it as well. And yet she can't. Also, this would require the traces of the Holy Blood to last in their carrier bloodlines for over a 1000 years. Surely I don't need to explain why that won't happen.
  22. Once again, order of magnitude. You're talking about the "completely regular people ignoring the laws of physics" brand of ignoring real life logic.
  23. To add, he was never sealed in the Dragon's Table by the Divine Dragons to begin with.
