  1. Generally if you glue Levin with Fury as soon as she pops up you should be okay (and keep Sylvia away or next to whoever you want to pair her with). I do tend to kill her off if she still is getting married to Levin, and then I just use the Valkyrie Staff on her. Just bench Alec unless you're planning on marrying him off while you're doing this and you should be fine. The only downside to rushing Levin and Fury is that you miss out on the conversation they have that automatically bumps them into being lovers, but at that point it doesn't really matter.
  2. Ike's was fine, Micaiah's was less fine but tolerable, every other one was bad (though Leif's was okay-ish I guess and the FE8 twins didn't kill them). If you literally end up sitting your main character out of battles because they'll steal exp due to being max level and unable to promote that's a problem. I had Roy sitting in the background for like, half the game because he hit 20 early on. Same thing with Hector/Eliwood. I did like it as a story thing, but honestly I prefer the concept of the legendary weapons in FE6/7 (sort of) and FE14 - it still makes you feel cooler and more powerful when you get them but it didn't hinder gameplay as much as semi-benching your own lord. That being said none of those do it particularly well... it would be nice if they continued playing with the idea, I think.
  3. That's cause he's literally just lewyn with longer hair :P I actually think Yuzu fits pretty well into the older armor - I agree about Shade and Emma. I think its more their hair pieces that make them feel a bit odd (like, if Shade didn't have the horn things I think that her FE10 design would actually look really nice. It also helps that ...Lando? has really nice artwork off the bat. The N card especially looks really nice.
  4. Yep, also 3 Ikes, 2 Sorens, 2 Mists, 2 Titanias, 2 Boyds (not including starter deck exclusives) just to give exact numbers.
  5. Generally the prepromoted version/more common cards come after the rarer one in the numbering. The other mercs were already in set 3 - I'm assuming we're going to see mostly the Dawn Brigade/new characters in this one since all of the Greil mercs already got cards last time (or at least most of them).
  6. Azel is probably the one who started it (or Boey depending on what art you think is official, lol). I really like the promos this time around - gonna have to track down the Micaiah and Lilina ones at least... Hopefully they aren't that hard to find (knowing my luck they will be though)
  7. I'm pretty sure Desmond wins Worst Father award by default. [spoiler=Fates spoilers]Also the Fates parents in general are pretty sketchy since they just... leave their kids alone in a Deeprealm and some of them don't even know their heritage, etc. But Jakob is especially bad in that regard since his relationship with Dwyer is incredibly unhealthy. As far as good dads I'd say Garcia and Chrom are pretty up there? Garcia for reasons already mentioned and Chrom because [spoiler=Awakening spoilers]he didn't drag his kid into a battlefield and even actively tries to make the doomed timeline!Lucina feel like part of the family even though he doesn't really know her and also has his own kid back at home (it also seems like he has a good relationship with both of his kids and family unless the weird "I think you're cheating on me" thing by most of the wives is supposed to imply something else). Also Eliwood and Greil are pretty good/decent as well, imo.
  8. I really would like to see an Igrene, Cath, and Echidna but I dunno if any of them are popular enough cards this round. Have we seen a Lalam or Elphin yet? I agree that I'd rather see actual existing characters over Shade/Ema/etc but I think they're also there to help bring in people from the other card sets? I dunno, I generally just don't keep their cards at all.
  9. Are there multiple card copies in the Dengeki Nintendo or is it just one copy of the Roy? I'm trying to figure out a split since I only need one Lilina and one Roy.
  10. I think Oboro is definitely going to get an SR this round - she's the only one of the top five girls to not have one yet. Honestly trying to guess the rest beyond Ryoma is hard because most of the top characters are from Nohr... maybe there will be a Hoshido!Silas? Just to throw up some wild guesses: Oboro, Ryoma, Hinata (or Saizo?), Subaki, Mikoto, and [spoiler=Revelation Spoiler]Arete/Shenmei I dunno - I'll have better guesses once the Nohr set comes out. Scarlet isn't as popular over there as she is over here so I dunno if she'd get a SR over more "sellable" characters. She'll probably get an R at least. FE7: Lyn, Hector, Eliwood (obviously), Nino, Lloyd, Ninian? I'm pretty sure Lloyd is the most popular "villain" in FE7 and so far they've only done one villain SR when they do do them at all - he's much higher in popularity than Ursula (even though I could see Ursula being appealing just because of her design so I dunno). Ninian's also a pretty major character, though I could see them swapping her out with Rebecca or Florina.
  11. They started there when I was playing an unpatched version of the game so I'm assuming yes.
  12. I don't mind Kozaki as long as they fire the art director (who's also the one who designed the armor in Awakening at least so uh). Honestly the only person I'd like to see return is probably Wada - her painting style and general outfit designs are gorgeous and and her Leif art/Cipher art has generally been fantastic (barring a few weird things with the Camilla card). She also seems capable of matching other art styles so I doubt we'd be absolutely stuck with the large eyed characters from FE8. Outside of that I'm surprised to see that Kazuya Nuri (who worked on Ace Attorney: Apollo Justice and Professor Layton vs Ace Attorney) hasn't been mentioned (or if he has I missed him). Admittedly his work on Ace Attorney is very exaggerated due to the nature of the games, but PL vs AA proved to me he could design fantasy outfits pretty well. I saw someone mention Kaneko and as hilarious as that would be he'd be the worst possible fit for Fire Emblem. I love him but his work is best suited for demons and horror-ish games. Writing wise I'm not sure? I think Shu Takumi would be great for supports and character interaction but he likes stories with plot twists on plot twists and Fire Emblem wouldn't work too well for that (unless they decided to make it a murder mystery, lol). I think that the Persona writers could make a decent world and I think that the Devil Summoner writers would make some awesome stuff, but I don't think it would fit well with Fire Emblem? Maybe a Final Fantasy writer since that's more in line with FE.
  13. From a practical standpoint it would have to be either Shadow Dragon or Mystery of the Emblem - they're the only two that are simple enough to be able to be condensed into an hour and a half to two hour movie, and even Mystery might be stretching it. As for live action vs. animation... we'll have answers once the Warcraft film comes out, lol. If that's well done then I think FE could work out as live action... I'd honestly be a bit concerned about a full length 3D animated film due to the sheer amount of assets and characters that would have to be made. If this was to be real they'd have to cut down the cast of any game considerably since otherwise it wouldn't be a realistic project at all. Of course since this is like a dream world I'd love a full 3D animated movie in the style of Fates's cutscenes. I think the newer games would be better suited as anime/TV shows, since they're more character driven. I'd hate to see key characters get shafted because there's not enough screentime (and a show might let some of the minor ones shine, too).
  14. They've been testing the ending text and event text for the past month or so and haven't found anything game breaking, at least. It's worth noting that the release will be a beta, so if there are any issues that pop up hopefully they'll be reported and can get fixed.
  15. Sticker Star sold about 11,000 more copies than Super Paper Mario in Japan, but internationally the sales were drastically lower than SPM. Paper Mario really isn't a very good franchise to use an example for the Japanese fandom mattering more than the international, since in Japan the series is generally not highly thought of, and a lot of the humor it's well known for is actually because the localization team completely rewrites the games. I think the only reason it's getting another game is that it still sold over 2 million copies, even if that's a drastic drop from the 4 million+ that SPM sold. Anyway, I play a lot of mobile games with optional P2P stuff. As long as it isn't obnoxious or like, "buy 12 gems to move this character" it should be fine. I'm also hoping there won't be characters locked behind a paywall but I'm thinking gaiden chapters/map packs will be a thing.
  16. I went FE13 -> FE8 -> FE7 -> FE4 -> FE9 -> FE10 -> FE6 -> FE2 -> FE5 -> FE11 (currently playing) It's a bit of a wonky order but it worked for me. If I had to re-marathon all of the games I'd probably play FE6 right after FE7, since it's neat to see some of the characters that you got to know in FE7 and what happens to them (sort of). I put off FE5 for a while because of the difficulty/translation and still have a rough time with it, so I'm planning on replaying it eventually. I would definitely recommend either FE8 or FE7 first, because those two are probably the easiest and were made for beginners. They're also available on the WiiU eShop if you want to support the series/maybe push them a bit to rerelease some of the others on Virtual Console. Be warned that FE7 has an incredibly long tutorial section that railroads you through everything ("Press A to select a unit! Move the cursor! Press A again!" etc). Otherwise my only advice is to not immediately start with FE2 or FE5 because those two are a bit obtuse. (Also if you play FE11 you don't have to play FE1 at all, but I have heard that FE12 is a bit different than FE3, so I'm personally planning on checking both out. FE12 is a remake, though)
  17. Honestly you just have to hope and pray the JP fandom feels the same way that you do (which they generally do, from what I've seen). IntSys doesn't seem to care very much for what the international fandom wants considering that we never get any sort of actual character polls or surveys about what we like about the characters, etc. NoA and the localization team seems to listen to the international concerns/reactions to things already in the JP version, but other than that idk. We're not really IntSys's primary audience, unfortunately. I think the surveys might help a little bit, and maybe trying to connect with the JP fandom might help a bit, but yeah. They are listening and improving, just not necessarily to us.
  18. Miitomo has been good about not sticking microtransactions in your face, so I'm not too worried about these ones. Honestly if Fire Emblem Mobile is going to be a full fledged game they'll probably just charge a set price for it rather than making it free (unless they announced somewhere that all of their games were going to be free). Also re: Fire Emblem moving purely to mobile: I doubt that. Fates sold an obnoxious (in a good way) amount of copies both in Japan and overseas, so it would be a horrible business decision to drop console development entirely in order to pursue a new market that might not even be super successful. Nintendo doesn't seem willing to become a mobile game company, anyway, so as long as they keep making handhelds I'm pretty sure Fire Emblem is going to be sticking around on them. Anyway, I'm kind of excited! It would be nice to have a truly mobile and easy Fire Emblem to play smaller, simpler maps when on the bus or when I have downtime, etc.
