  1. It really sucks how so many people seem to have it out for Ms Strober, she was fantastic in Fates and I loved hearing her as Akane in Zero Time Dilemma. I hope she pushes through all the negativity and churns out more good stuff in the future :)
  2. Yeah I find those four are the hardest to juggle, since there are only so many magical moms and they only support so many fathers. Set 2 looks good, but if you're not using Hana I'd replace Orochi with her. Hana!Asugi gets 1 less Mag, but gets 1 more Strength. He gets +5 in Skill, only 1 less than what Orochi passes on and he gets a +1 Spd mod, unlike Orochi!Asugi's -3 Spd mod. Just my personal nit-picking though. Again, I really like Set 2. Try playing around with this: https://inheritance-planner.herokuapp.com/
  3. Odin x Elise is great but in a vacuum Felicia's the better option. What Elise!Ophelia has going for her is her absurdly high Mag growth of 80 as a Sorcerer and the +5 Mag modifier. However, 80 is pretty unnecessary and Felicia!Ophelia still gets a great Mag growth of 65 and a +4 Mag modifier, while keeping her Def modifier at a flat 0. Elise!Ophelia loses in that department with a -2 Def modifier. It should also be noted that Elise!Ophelia has a HP growth of 37.5, while Felicia!Ophelia has 42.5. Again, Elise!Ophelia is great, I just like my Sorcerers with a bit of bulk so Felicia!Ophelia's the way to go for me. Dwyer's a weird kid. His personal's nigh-useless other than MyCastle and he starts off in a magic oriented class despite his dad being physical-oriented in terms of stats and whatnot, but if that's what you're going for I suggest getting a physical mother since Jakob passes on some pretty bad Mag mods. Oboro's a great option in a vacuum, but she's pretty in demand when it comes to other pairings. Effie's another good option (since you don't have Percy on that list). Saizo x Sakura's pretty great. Asugi gets a -1 Speed modifier from his dad from the get-go which isn't too easy to patch up but Sakura at least puts it at a positive, +1. She also gives pretty sweet mods overall, allowing him to deal great damage with both normal shurikens and the Flame Shuriken. Orochi gives him slightly more Magic (+4) and much more Skill (+6), which sounds great but she puts his Speed at -3. She's still a pretty good mom for him though and a lot of people are finding success with Orochi!Asugi, but I'd rather not have a Master Ninja with a -3 Speed mod. Kiragi...man. What to do with him. He'll never be like his dad, that's for sure. His ideal mom depends on what you want him to do. Do you want him to be relatively fast? Takumi gives him a -1 Speed mod but Hana and Setsuna can push it to +1 and +2, respectively. Do you want him to dish out more damage? Kagero's got you covered there with the +5 Str mod (-2 Spd mod kind of sucks but whatever). Nina's pretty hard to break imo as long as you don't give her a physical mom, since Niles passes on a -1 Strength mod. You could just give her Felicia and be done with her, her Str takes a huge hit (-3) but she gets good Magic which allows her to use a Shining Bow very well and a Speed mod of +5. Elise!Nina has the same dilemma as Elise!Ophelia (-2 Defense mod), except she also takes a hit to her Skill (-2). Setsuna doesn't do a whole lot with her but gives her a hilarious Speed modifier of +7, which might be what you want. Oboro doesn't do much either and she just gets some bulk. Nyx does the same thing as Elise except she doesn't bring down her Defense as much (-1 compared to Elise!Nina's -2), and her Strength remains decent (-1 compared to Elise!Nina's -2) but gives less luck than her (0 compared to Elise!Nina's +2). Basically, just give her a magic mom and slap on a Shining Bow and you're good to go. TL;DR: Ophelia wants Felicia or Elise, Dwyer wants mothers like Oboro or Effie, Kiragi should be solid with Setsuna, Hana or Kagero, Asugi prefers Sakura but is cool with Orochi, while Nina competes with Ophelia for a magical mother. I tried to keep things objective while also throwing out my personal opinions and reasoning to elaborate on each child's strengths, hope that helps! :)
  4. Sorry if this is too late, Peri!Soleil becomes a really good Hero, Sakura lets Forrest get Tomefaire and passes down great mods, Oboro patches up Selkie's thin Defense and adds to her Strength, Camilla's a godly mom. They're great pairings, but you need to consider whether you'll be getting any of the other children, since optimizing them is very much a balancing act.
  5. I'm probably not the best at this (still waiting for someone to answer me lol), but I'll give it a shot. Azura and Kaze make great babies, they'll get sweet +4 Skill and +7 Speed modifiers. The -3 Defense kind of stings, but the speed makes them kickass Master Ninjas and it's not like you'll be using them as tanks. Dwyer's a mixed bag. His ability and growth make him a little difficult to work with. It really depends on what you're planning to do with him. His dad gives him good physical modifiers and growths from the get-go so you're probably gonna want to capitalize on that, so Selena's not a bad choice, imo. Peri's pretty good too. Velouria wants either Effie or Camilla. I'd go with Camilla, but they're both excellent. Hmmm, again, not too sure what to do with Selkie. Her Defense growth and modifier aren't gonna be great no matter what you do though, so I'd go with Charlotte if she's free. I went with Setsuna (the other moms were taken) and I was quite satisfied with the results, it's kind of hard to mess up Velouria and Selkie. Shiro's probably gonna be a Spear Master, so Kagero's really good. His other moms (except for Camilla) tend to go a bit too far with the negative modifiers for him imo. Like, Hana gives him a -4 Defense modifier. Caeldori wants Oboro or Hinoka. You're probably gonna want to get someone else's opinion on this as well, but that's my two cents. I hope I helped, at least!
  6. On my Revelation run I won't be using every kid. the ones I really want are Sophie, Caeldori, Percy, Velouria, Selkie, Kiragi, Ophelia, Shigure, Soleil and maybe male Kana and Forrest. Still a bit of a list but eh. I'm pretty set on Camilla!Velouria and Effie!Percy so far, but that's it, so I'm looking for some guidance on what to look for when choosing a mother/father. Vague and broad advice/answers are fine (since asking for "guidance" is pretty broad to begin with), but I have two specific questions: 1. What makes Elise!Ophelia much more recommended than Felicia!Ophelia? Felicia gives more balanced stats and the difference in Magic and Luck is negligible imo and not having negative defensive modifiers makes it easier to rectify mistakes. Or is a max defense stat of 29 (sorcerer) pretty bad to begin with? It seems pretty good to me... 2. What makes Asugi so desirable? Thank you!
  7. Yeah, I was only considering Poison Jab because my friend was yelling at me on FB chat about how good Poison Jab is on Conk. Which, again, doesn't make sense to me if dealing with Fairies is the only argument. I was basically stuck on whether to use Fire Punch or Thunder Punch, since I was lacking coverage for Scizor, Mega Scizor, and Gyarados, but Drain Punch deals with them decently (from MY experience. EVERYONE PLEASE FEEL FREE TO REFUTE ME ANYTIME I OPEN MY MOUTH, I'd rather know that I'm wrong and learn from it) so whatever. Also, I've been switching between full investment in HP/Atk and full investment in Atk/Sp.Def, and I'm not sure which is better...? Yes, but a non-boosted Psycho Cut from Mega Gallade doesn't OHKO it either (not from my experience, at least. Choice Banded Brave Bird from Talonflame doesn't OHKO either, IIRC). It'll then proceed to use Sleep Powder for any switch-ins... Yeah that thing is no fun. The moment it turtles on the field unchecked, it immediately has the upper hand against me and I have to be very careful :( I've been using a slow Volt Switch early game with Lanturn and set-up+sweep, hoping I can bait it for a OHKO. I took the advice of someone on Reddit and changed Dark Pulse for Extrasensory for emergencies and that's helped me a lot. With that, I've never lost against another MVenu team so far, but I don't feel safe from it yet lol. Tips for dealing with this guy would be greatly appreciated. Also how common is a Nasty Plot Lucario? This thing took me by surprise and sweeped two of my pokes. I still managed to squeeze a win, but it was close. Speaking of viable or common sets, Cosmic Power+Stored Power Mega Lopunny seems to be a thing o.O I've run into more than 4 of them. My Unaware Clef had an amazing time though.
  8. Guts AV Conk with Adamant nature, and heavy investment in Attack and Special Defence, then? I'm asking because some EV spreads suggested for this guy are very very messy. And how does specially defensive Rotom-W fare against Talonflame? I have a physically defensive one just for TF which has been pretty great in general but if the difference is negligible and SpDef Rotom-W is still a good check against many threats then I might breed another Rotom for Sp.Def. And actually I've run into quite a few Extrasensory Greninja's, they seem to have it specifically for Venusaur o.O but maybe I've been battling the minority? EDIT: (sorry for asking so many questions argh) also, Drain Punch and Mach Punch seem to be mandatory for AV Conk, and either Ice Punch or Knock Off would be the third move, depending on your team but how well does Poison Jab work as a coverage move? I understand that it's supposed to hit Fairies but it seems like Conk would just get Moonblasted into smithereens... and I don't want to use Stone Edge either because it has poor accuracy... would maybe a Ice Punch+Thunder Punch to make a pseudo-BoltBeam combination work well?
  9. I think he's super versatile and covers anything the team is lacking. Or the team can easily cover what he's lacking. Honestly, I thought Talonflame was pretty bad (in a good way) but this guy's on another level after getting Gunk Shot. Well, I'm not gonna rant on stuff you already know haha. Anyways, so P2 would be good if he doesn't have Low Kick, AV Conk would be excellent if he doesn't have Extrasensory... ugh. How much of a loss is it if the AV gets knocked off? I think that's the biggest deciding factor for me at this point, I'll still try them both though. EDIT: Oh, and personally, which do you prefer, Iron Fist, Sheer Force or Guts on Conk? All of them seem appealing.
  10. What are some counters/good checks to Greninja? It doesn't outright sweep my whole team on its own, but I definitely have to watch my step with it. Specially defensive Porygon2 seems like it would be a good check and sometimes even a counter to it, but Low Kick kind of scares me. Going halfway and trying to boost both defensive stats doesn't seem like a good idea either. I'm out of ideas :( I have a similar dilemma with Scarf Lando-T as well, but let's go one step at a time...
  11. How on earth is Dragalge RU? I thought he would be UU at least, since he gets Adaptability. I've been on the receiving end of one and it hurts. These tiers are based on usage stats, right? I guess its kind of an advantage then, since no one will expect it....
  12. I'm pretty sure I read something on Reddit about HomePassing it, so I don't think it'll be too difficult to get one.
  13. I just traded for a shiny female Pawniard. It also came from France, so maybe I can breed one. Even though I don't have a shiny charm, haha...
  14. Then would Klefki do a better job at shutting down setups, if Unaware Clef isn't that great? I just don't want too many stall-ish Pokes. Also, Mega Gallade gets a significant defence boost, not a WHOLE lot, but just enough so that you won't be crossing your fingers, praying that it won't get OHKO'd every time your opponent brings out a Poke that is even the slightest bit physical. I'm exaggerating, of course, but you get my point.
  15. How good is an Unaware Clefable for setting up Stealth Rock (or in general, really)? I realize that Magic Guard Clef is really good, but I can't get Softboiled since you need to go to a Move Tutor in Fire Red/Leaf Green (I think) for that. Unless MG Clef with Wish/Moonlight is a good alternative. I just feel that Wish is very unreliable without Protect (and having both limits its possible roles) and Moonlight can be pretty useless depending on the weather (unless the 1/4 recovery is still decent) And is Justified the better ability for Mega Gallade? If so, wouldn't switching him in on something like Knock Off put a big dent on him anyway, since he has bad Defence before he Mega evolves? I tried him out and I really like him, if you can get a Swords Dance even Shadow Sneak hurts like hell, so I want to make him work as best as possible. Sorry if this isn't the right thread for this.
