I was curious to see how close I could get to the stats of Odin, Laslow, and Selena with Awakening parents, and this is what I came up with: Frederick x Lissa Odin's Mods: 0 Str/1 Mag/1 Skl/-1 Spd/1 Lck/0 Def/-1 Res Owain's Mods: 1 Str/1 Mag/2 Skl/-1 Spd/3 Lck/2 Def/2 Res It's a bit of a long shot in the Defense department and Fred!Owain doesn't have access to Dark Mage, but it's statistically the best fit, and Dark Magic doesn't really exist in Fatesland outside of Nosferatu, anyway. Olivia x Kellam Laslow's Mods: 1 Str/0 Mag/2 Skl/-1 Spd/1 Lck/-1 Def/-1 Res Inigo's Mods: 2 Str/1 Mag/3 Skl/0 Spd/-1 Lck/3 Def/0 Res Once again relatively accurate up until the defenses. Fun fact, no Awakening character (-Spd Avatar nonwithstanding) simultaneously has a negative Speed modifier and a neutral-or-worse Defense modifier. Donnel x Cordelia Selena's Mods: -1 Str/0 Mag/-1 Skl/2 Spd/0 Lck/1 Def/0 Res Severa's Mods: 3 Str/-1 Mag/2 Skl/3 Spd/3 Lck/2 Def/-1 Res Hoo boy, this is a stretch. The only reason that this one made it was that it was the closest we could come. Selena's mods are just really weird by Awakening standards. Another fun fact, the only non-Spotpass non-MU Gen 1 Male with a negative Strength modifier is Ricken. Additionally, Donnel is the only Gen 1 male with a negative Skl modifier. But this is the closest we can come to Selena's mods without including MU. The closest we can get WITH MU is with a Def/Str Asset/Flaw combo, although even that is still a far cry from Selena's modifiers.

Favorite non-lord class for the MU (Corrin)?
Wayward Alchemist replied to Prince Cavvy's topic in Fire Emblem Fates
I don't do much reclassing for MU in Conquest because Dragonstones are fantastic utility in CQ (Effie can't be everywhere at once) and other units want Heart Seals more, but in Birthright where money rains from the sky I usually run +Mag/-Lck and I alternate between Dark Knight and Malig Knight (Dark Mage secondary, married to Scarlet) depending on the design of the map. (Malig if there is a ton of terrain and DK if it's a more open map where no Bow weakness and Yato come in handy)- 30 replies

Do Niles + Camilla make a horrible Nina?
Wayward Alchemist replied to eeeeeeeeeeeeeee's topic in Fire Emblem Fates
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) But yeah, Camilla is one of the best mothers. I can think of nobody that doesn't benefit from her. -
Which Awakening character you would have chosen to...
Wayward Alchemist replied to WinterOkami's topic in Fire Emblem Fates
Honestly I'd keep Odin and Laslow, those two were my favorite kids in Awakening. However I'd replace the bitch Selena with either Cynthia (I'd love to see her discuss "the subtle, yet distinct differences between justice and vengeance" with Arthur) or Brady (because of Owain, Inigo, and Brady's ending in the Future Past, it would make more sense for a band of traveling musicians to up and leave than two bros and some chick that they were friends with before they left on their gig) Also Henry in place of Rajat, starts off as an Oni Savage with high Mag in homage to his Barbarian class tree -
Do Niles + Camilla make a horrible Nina?
Wayward Alchemist replied to eeeeeeeeeeeeeee's topic in Fire Emblem Fates
What?? Trample is a fantastic skill, especially in Conquest. If you're willing to wait until Cam gets to Lv. 15, Nina will effectively have Bowfaire because nearly all of the enemies you face in Conquest are infantry, and those that are mounted are usually fliers. Additionally, if you wait and pass Lv. 15 skills to Nina the story will have progressed to the point that Nina joins with a Child Seal and you can skip to a high level Adventurer right off the bat. -
What boon/bane would benefit a priestess Corrin?
Wayward Alchemist replied to eeeeeeeeeeeeeee's topic in Fire Emblem Fates
No Yato/10, would not Priestess again In all seriousness I would strongly reccomend against -Spd. Even if it seems overkill you can never have too much Spd as it grants not only the potential to literally double your Str/Mag when attacking but it also grants you a defensive advantage with your Avoid. I would go -Lck, as it's not as Priestess has oodles of Luck anyways. Additionally, why waste the nice +5% Spd growth a Mag asset gives you? Use the beastly 50% Spd growth at base (65% as a Priestess) to your advantage, don't sacrifice it for balanced stats. A "Balanced" Corrin isn't a good Corrin. Corrin is supposed to specialize and wreck face by playing to their strengths and leaving their shortcomings to be handled by the rest of your army. With a +Mag/-Lck Priestess!Corn you'd have growths of 55 / 50 / 55 / 45 / 65 / 45 / 35 / 50. You'd basically be a second Niles but better growths in literally every stat lmao Realistically if you're marrying Niles you should use a class with a 1 range weapon, but I suppose the Shining Bow wouldn't be too bad as you could pass it between yourself and Niles if you are in Guard Stance together a lot. I'd go with Adventurer with Niles. Even though it's basic it's basic for a reason. He couldn't really ask for a better class. -
Okay so the rules are simple: Units must only use unforged Bronze weapons, Fire Tomes, and basic Staves. While I'm sure this is no original thought, it's implications in Fates are quite interesting: Pros + 10 Crit avoid is always welcome + Stellar Hit rates + Great inventory management Cons - No Crits - No cheesing the game with Procs - Damage output takes a beating - Gg Prf weapons - Only source of 1-2 range is squishy Mages or extremely weak Bronze Kunai If you wanted to be super hardcore you could ban having Prf weapons in Inventory and Hoshidan weapons since their Nohrian counterparts are undeniably inferior (especially the Shurikens vs the Daggers, what were they thinking?!)

Let's end this once and for all. Who is best girl?
Wayward Alchemist replied to radiantsage's topic in Fire Emblem: Awakening
Pega Pony Princess has my vote, although Lissa is the one I usually marry because I hate creating paradoxes and Robin (as a character) has zero chemistry with Cynthia so I like marrying Robin to Lissa. I also like marrying them because it's funny that reserved, studious Robin winds up in a family comprised of loud dorks. -
Birthright PMU - Green's Revenge
Wayward Alchemist replied to CooledEvergreen's topic in Fire Emblem Fates
Wrong route m8I bestow unto you Great Lord Hinoka!Sophie. She's pretty killer, but it's kinda a tough decision between recruiting her early for her bases or recruiting her later for Luna and a Falco/Spear Master skill from inheritance. E: Also Hinoka's hair looks great on her~ -
Characters from Other Games as FE Classes
Wayward Alchemist replied to CWGameplay's topic in Fire Emblem Fates
Not a game, but... [spoiler=Fullmetal Alchemist]Edward: Tactician/Grandmaster with a red color scheme Alphonse: Obvious Knight is obvious, although a Knight with high Spd and Mag but lower Def and Skl would be kinda cool. Roy: Probably GBA!Sage or a Henryish Dark Mage (in other words no skintight see through cloth for Colonel Mustbang). Also a personal that makes Fire-type Tomes stupid powerful. Riza: Obvious Sniper. Alex: Idk whether he'd be a Fates Berserker or an Awakening Warrior, both fit him well, but I suppose Bows are closer to his form of alchemy than hand axes so I guess Warrior. Actually maybe Oni Chieftain with no breastplate, just the pants? That would look a lot like him actually. Olivier: Swordmaster or very sword oriented Hero. Wrath/Bradley: Actually Great Lord in Awakening would be good for him, with the Rapier. Otherwise Fates!Swordmaster with a Prf dual-wield Rapier. Envy: Freelancer, Freelancer, Freelancer. Lust: Spear Master, maybe? Idk Sloth: Awakening Berserker with no skill to be had or Faceless. Pride: Grima but with shadows instead of a giant dragon lmao Greed: He strikes me as an early game Mercenary boss with broken capped Def. Greedling: Swordmaster with a Prf weapon that boosts Def by like 20 or some crazy shit Hohenheim: Sage. Father: Sage sprite and model, broken ass final boss weapon and stats. Scar: GBA Assassin (looks wise) with a monstrous Crit but low Hit Prf sword. Kimblee: Strikes me as more of a Sage than a DM. May Chang: Cleric? Izumi: Super high stats Sage but every weapon she equips has the Devil effect. -
Different Reclass Options?
Wayward Alchemist replied to fennekin1234's topic in Fire Emblem: Awakening
Is this thread too old? Whatever I would have liked Dancer!Inigo, but it would be extremely overpowered due to trivializing "defeat the boss" chapters - Max out Inigo, Reclass him to Dancer, and have him and his mom dance train their way up to the boss and then let Inigo loose with a Brave Sword. Gg literally all of Valm. -
Lunatic Classic, would prefer MaMU but it's up for grabs, please nothing too ridiculous as this is Lunatic *stares pointedly at physical Ricken* Chrom@Great Knight 1)+Mag/-Skl MaMU@Trickster 2)Donnel!Nah@Hero 3)Libra!Owain@War Monk 4)Sumia!Lucina@Bow Knight 5)Panne@Griffon Rider 6)MU!Sev@Assassin 7)Kellam@Assassin 8)Sumia@Great Knight 9)Cordelia@Dark Flier 10)Lon'Qu!Yarne@Berserker 11)Ricken!Noire@Sage 12)Nowi@Dark Knight 13)Stahl@Sniper 14)Libra@Sage 15)Gerome@Griffin Rider
