  1. Henry or Tharja can both kill Walhart if they activate Vengeance with low HP. Does your Chrom have Luna? As a matter of fact any unit that has Luna will work with Walhart. You said Sully and Stahl do. Those could work well. I know this is out of topic but does your Morgan have Galeforce? I'm curious because if you forgot to pass it down to him then there's no way he can get it at all, sadly. Umm....back to the topic at hand. Walhart has the Sol Sword so using a Lance would be great. You mentioned Sumia so that can work. But the paladins may be trouble. Hmmm.....Use Henry or Tharja with Nosferatu on the front lines. Or any tank unit to lure in Walhart and his Paladins. Take out the paladins with your mages or Morgan/Lon'qu or whatever unit you want to use. Lucina has access to rapiers. So it's super effective against paladins. Then attack Walhart with Sumia paired up with Chrom. Using Brave Weapons would be nice. If you don't have a brave lance for Sumia then summon Ashnard from the bonus teams (Path of Radiance, obviously) and buy it from him. And if all else fails. You can always gamble and attack with Gaius. And hope he activates his Lethality. Which is not the best method, let me tell you. But he can at least avoid Walhart's attacks since he generally has very high speed.
  2. I never played the game on Normal but from what I've seen of it. I bet you could solo it with Chrom if you give him the right skills. Without pair up. I suppose that's how Chrom fights for his friends. His enemies will get no sympathy from him. I'm sorry. I couldn't resist quoting Ike.
  3. I never said Vaike was the best. But he's not that bad either. Vantage + Sol is good. He already has access to Wrath. A mediocre skill at best. But combined wih Vantage means that with luck. He'll attack first. Crit and survive. How about we forget Vaike entirely and add Vengeance instead of Astra? Vantage + Vengeance is pretty swell. Vengeance is an awesome skill in my opinion. It doesn't need to be combined with Wrath but I do it from time to time. Just for comedic effect.
  4. And that, my friends. Is how a man executes his spouse. Lol! Rey, You never fail to put a smile on my face. When I said Dark Magic is broken I meant Nosferatu, my man. And are you telling me that Nosferatu is the only broken dark tome? Well, I agree. I don't think Mire is OP. It's REALLY good but the fact that it doesn't allow you to forge it, double your opponents or activate skills makes it kinda balanced for me. Aggressor and or Galeforce make the most out of it but still. Maybe ban Nosferatu and Aversa's Night uses, then? But the thing is while Aversa's Night is stronger, it's rare and has much less uses than Nosferatu. So maybe that shouldn't be considered broken. Unless you use Armthrift and pair up with a lucky character like Chrom or Donnel. Or using Limit Breaker to up your Luck stat cap to 50+ but my whole point is the two spells that steal your enemy's life force are too good in my opinion. But I still use them for shits and giggles. Plus I have a soft spot for them because in my first playthrough I did fairly minimal grinding so I was under leveled for a lot of the chapters but Henry was an absolute beast with Vengeance and Nosferatu in hand. Anytime I was stuck on a level. Bam. I put him on the front lines and equip Nosferatu. Problem solved.Sorry. I kinda rambled on too long.
  5. Heh. Don't worry. Owain can be an awesome Dread Fighter if you give him the right father. Now your 3 best choices in my personal opinion would be Vaike (To negate his Strength flaw.) or Henry (To give him access to Dark Mage which obviously promotes to Sorcerer.) or MU (For balanced all around stats and access to basically everything.) All of these options will end up giving you a really good Dread Fighter. Make sure that he has Aggressor and Galeforce in his skillset at all times. Both of these two skills compliment each other very well. Sadly Astra will be the only offensive skill he has access to if he is fathered by Vaike. Astra is actually a great skill but the fact that it's activation rate is half the activation rate of Luna or Ignis is the only problem I have with it. Henry will give him Vengeance which has an insanely high activation rate but it will work better if you keep him in a more fragile class like Sage. That way, he will support his friends with healing but at the same time if an enemy hurts him, he will hurt them back. Tenfold. Well. Not tenfold but you get the idea. So yeah. Dread Fighter Owain can work and is actually a great option for him. So don't ignore his potential in that class. Final results would be like this: Class: Dread Fighter Skillset: Galeforce: Must be passed down from Lissa above any priority. Aggressor: As I've mentioned. This skill with Galeforce complement each other REALLY well. Astra or Ignis or Luna: Choose only Astra if MU is NOT the father because Owain will obviously not have access to Ignis or Luna. Vantage: Wouldn't want him to die anytime soon, would you? Limit Breaker: If you don't have Limit Breaker or don't want to use it then Sol would be a good alternative. Axebreaker is another potential though not as great as Sol. Counter is also a nice alternative. Maybe even All Stats +2, Why not? So yeah. That's my suggestion. I hope it helps
  6. It depends, I suppose. Lunatic has the most challenging endgame content, which is fun. And the Risen skirmishes there are nice for trying out different builds. But when it comes to a no grind run. Then hard mode will provide a good challenge without being overwhelming at the beginning. Lunatic is just for those who would put up with a lot of grinding such as me. Because the end will actually be a challenging endgame and Risen skirmishes. It's fair though. Nothing too crazy for those who use children units. In short. Hard mode if you want minimal grinding or none. Lunatic if you want a challenging endgame. As for Classic vs Casual. From my experiment. Casual was better than Classic. Classic mode is very fun because it puts me on an edge all the time. But I prefer playing Casual with the same way I play Classic. I will never sacrifice a unit in Casual. I will only do it when I am, say....cheesed out of the battle by one of Jaffar's Lethalities. Or when an enemy gets a very low percent chance crit (A barbarian once got a 1% chance crit on Lissa. One percent!). In the end. I play this game because I simply enjoy it. Which is why I dumped more than 450 hours into it. If I'm not having a laugh during one of Gaius' support conversations then I'm trying out a new build for Inigo or My Unit so on and so forth. And I can always whip up some of the DLC maps if I'm looking for some challenge. Otherwise, I would be trying out different methods of killing the final boss in a single hit. And all are good fun. Different difficulty levels may change my level of enjoyment. But not by much. But the next Fire Emblem game should have a smoother and more balanced difficulty curve than Lunatic. Because seriously. The first few levels of Lunatic are unforgiving because the only unit you have that can actually do some damage is the unit that you DON"T want to level up (Frederick). Anyway, that's all just my opinion. If you want to up the ante then you could make a special challenge where you handicap yourself by putting up rules like: No Sorcerers because Dark Magic is broken. No children units because they're too good. I never tried that but I may someday.
  7. I would personally suggest an avatar that has +Defense/-Luck or +Defense/-Magic. As for the class option and skill set. I would recommend this: Class: Great Knight or General If you choose General over Great Knight then you will no longer be weak to anti beast weapons and gain overall higher stat caps (Except for speed) But you will lose access to swords and have much lower movement. It's up to you. And for the Skillset: Pavise Aegis Renewal Luna or Vengeance Limit Breaker (If you don't have Limit Breaker or don't want to use it than this can be easily be replaced by Tomebreaker so you can avoid spells like a champ. Or Sol if you want backup healing. Vantage is also a strong possibility if you want to prevent cheap deaths.) Now if you want to make this unit even more unstoppable than you want to pair up with a unit that has Dual Guard+ and one that you have a high support rank with. Bear in mind that this is not the most unstoppable character build you can go for. Sorcerers with forged Aversa's Night/Nosferatu tomes and Armsthrift are in my opinion the most unstoppable thing you can think of. But still. This is a fun alternative in my opinion. If you want to use legendary weapons or forged weapons and are afraid to expend their durability then replace the fourth skill with Armsthrift. It's not like Generals and Great Knights had mediocre damage or anything like that. Alternatively. You could carry a bunch of Hammerne staves. So that's my opinion on making an incredible tank build. I hope it helps
