  1. After Three Houses, I was very skeptical to where Fire Emblem was going. Even though I've put many hours in Three Houses (single completed playthrough), I never really felt at ease with all the side stuff. I am a perfectionist, so if I can have Warp ASAP on a unit, I will have it. I've spend way too many hours on the school activities, which made me burned out soon enough. Only completed the shortest route, BE, tried the other two, but the first (11?) chapters are already to much of a shore to me. So I didn't want to jump into Engage until I was sure it was for me. Seeing some random playthroughs (without spoilers) it gave me Awakening vibes. Which a good thing to me. Units are colorful and lovable (almost all of them). Battles on Maddening can be brutal from time to time, but that gives extra satisfaction when finally completed. What I didn't like is your cast falling off hard. Since I just looked at LTC gameplay, I figured early units were almost untrainable with that pace. But playing myself, I found that even when "grinding" I also couldn't make them keep up. Not only in level, but also in stats. I liked Seighurt/Louis really well, but he was only level 8 when Jade showed up, in a higher level and better base stats. Same for all the rest. Only Chloe kept her nice as a flier. Give I could've promoted another unit, but I was saving that item for Louis especially... Story is fine for me, also reminded me of Awakening. Emblems were fun, which reminded me of pair-up from Awakening too. The explorer part was fine I guess. Somewhat strange you couldn't revisit places whenever you wanted too, unless you had a battle done just before it. Maybe soon I will set my pride aside and play the game on Normal difficulty, but not sure if that would help Louis get his promotion, pretty sure he still gets overshadowed by Jade xD Also the change in whatever class you want, if you have the right stuff, never really clicked for me. Options are fine, but I prefer limited like in Sacred Stones. It gives more value to units and might make players use other units, depending on their playstyle. Overall an 8/10 too me. DLC didn't add anything in my experience (only experience XD) Those bracelets are just meh. I liked Camilla's ability to turn anyone in a flier, but the rest meh. Luckily I got it for "free" as a gift, would've regret spending money on it.
  2. I got Anna after chapter 9, tried to proc her skill but no luck. She stayed on her base stats pretty much. I used to be better in babying units, remember having a strong Owen(FE8), Nino(FE7) and Lilina. Guess I am to lazy nowadays and try to get better turn counts over max EXP. RIP 50+ maps in Shadow Dragon xD
  3. FE2, FE4, FE5, FE6, FE8, FE10 (and FE3, if you want to include that). FE2 would be Khris(default name) I guess. Or wouldn't that count? Never got him outside of Japan. Second pick would be Minerva or the triangle sisters. FE4, never really played this. So hard to tell who might be relevant. Guess the son of Sighurt? FE5, same story as above. FE6 needs more Gonsales or Lillina. If no Minerva, this should be Miledy. Shout out to Rutgar. FE8, Ephraim. No competition. FE10 Black Knight. Or big Lion King. Not Ranulf for sure. FE3 we pick Alm offcourse.
  4. Does this carry over to a New Game? Or do you need to beat it over and over for those sweet items?
  5. This sounds very nice! Thanks for the updates. Can't wait to start playing tonight.
  6. Lol, been wondering this. Even so, without chapter 9, how can you include Jade?! No one will understand where she came from. Even skipped all the preparations for the upcoming battles 😞 Wasn't there a way to kill Rosado with two units? You also skipped both chest. This wasn't you playing, was it?!
  7. Since chapter 10 is coming closer every minute, already planned out what to skills to inherit? Staff proficiency for Chloe and Alear for sure. You also want to save on bond points for rings later. Planning on doing Tiki too? Saw some crazy clear from XS, I think you got the staff power, but not the seals for it. Maybe two Olwen S rings? Three is too much, one might be not enough. Edit, might as well share my Sommie here...
  8. Perfect. Thanks. Guess I got "lucky" with all the food weapons I got. Problem is, they sell for only 250,- which makes me too broke to buy or donate anything xD
  9. Give all weapons durability, even the ones from the emblems. Lodestar Rush won't be as abusive anymore if all hits costs uses. Same for Override, each unit hit is a use from the weapon. And/or make each Emblem so, that they can only pass down a skill once. No more Canter armies. What can I say? Really love this game. Outside of personal preferences, I wouldn't change a think.
  10. Sorry to bother you, but how do we actually "reset" the well RNG? I drop items in, will that be the moment the RNG rolls? Or is it after a battle won? I hoped after a battle, but it seems set when completed, so not like the ring RNG. Really puzzled as I only seem to get cheap crap... wasting alot of money and items on nothing good, which I would like to improve. Don't need Warp staffs all over or something like that, just things worth the buck.
  11. Just got to the point Lapis joins my army. In chapter 7 she was very squishy and couldn't make a big impact. Chloe just got to level 10, so I am able to promote both if I wanted too. Chloe had some fair use of the Marth emblem ring, so got to level 8 naturally. Lapis would still require some bond fragments (but we have plenty anyway). Even though I play on fixed growths, I am not sure if the stats I see are a good comparison. Chloe has better stats in all but atk(-1) and res(-2). By this comparison I would just keep using Chloe. But if I didn't use her up until this point, I guess Lapis would be a good substitute. But if I didn't, why would I want a flyer by now... I would agree both are "the same" stat wise. But Chloe gets more chapters to be good at. If Chloe is S, Lapis would be A in my book. If Chloe is A, guess Lapis is bottom A. If Chloe is mid A, I guess that makes Lapis B. Seeing her "poor" contribution in chapter 7, I am not sure how she would dominate the enemy phases. But if she can, so can Chloe, who has 2 more speed, so would double faster (also more bld). At the moment I don't need another growth unit and don't have a spare master or second seal. Why would I turn Lapis into my Wyvern instead of Chloe? In proving your point, you should calculate the expected stats of Chloe by the end of chapter 7 (level 10). Compare both in the same class (Wyvern) and highest stats (both have similar growths, right?) would win. If Lapis had superior stats, I would switch Chloe out without problem. Will give Lapis some time to help out, but not sure who not to deploy, especially now also Citrine joined. Next chapter is a two turn for me, even when playing casually. I think Lapis could potentially be a (very) good unit, but joins just a bit too late. But I agree her and Chloe are interchangeably. She is definitely better if Chloe can't make it to lv10 by the end of chapter 7. Just my two cents.
  12. Any footage of this Reploids? I hear his name often, but cannot seem to find anything. No true rigged way to get EXP on a better purpose unit? Also getting unsure if you go lowest, or most reliable lowest. If you do an aftermath video like just now, I think both can be viable. Does Alear have any real targets outside of being promoted by chapter 11? Can't recall her contributing much in other runs (combat wise).
  13. Very nice to see how chapter 2 got optimised in the past few weeks. No longer any wasted EXP on Vander. Does he retrain the chip EXP when he gets revived? Won't the new patch "ruin" the run? Thought they bugged fixed growths by accident.
  14. Sooooo close, but still far off. Not a big fan of combined emblem units. Likely they got lazy and didn't want make multiple. I would be okay with "just" Chrom. Same with the three houses leaders. But Camilla is solo. Strange decisions really.
  15. Chrom likely something with Dual Strike from each and every corner, I can already hear him say: "have another"
  16. I think you shouldn't blend in Emblem Rings in the same tier. Looks rather confusing (me thinks). Also kind of confused about the title. Title is DLC tier list, on topic text: non-DLC. But the third picture is Edelgard, right?
  17. Very nice clears, as usual. Nobody likes hacked/100% runs. They take away the credit for your hard work. Rigging can be hell, but very satisfying when you finally get what you want. Happy to see the clear didn't need a rewind.
  18. That was what I was expecting/hoping for with the DLC. Was a big let down it never happened.
  19. Just for random fun, you can Azura let marry Jakob and get the Peg. line for him and Dwyer. Pegasus' can use staffs, which is nice for both of them. Early Jakob could actually carry over both a lance and staff rank. I kinda prefer this over his "usual" Wyvern route. Dwyer also has a slightly better strength growth (not that it matters much). Also easy win chapter, who just needs a boss kill. Freeing Sakura from healing duties, so she can build magic rank. I think Pegs give better speed, but less strength. But gaining more strength is easier to gain then speed (just force and/or use effective weaponry). But not too sure how late Jakob fares with this... Subaki is meh. But I had some great ones, just watch his early speed and promote in time. He will always fall off eventually, but will always be a nice ferry for units that need it.
  20. Since Roy wins the fight and makes Marth second, might mean that Roy will get a full remake first. Yes, this is me doing very wishful thinking.... Actually disappointed with "just" a localisation and nothing more. No interest for me.
  21. Since I kind-of like to use the same team every playthrough, I will not mention Byleth and/or the main lord of that route. Lysithea. Not only because of Warp, but also very strong magic. She is always my top priority in getting, unless I play Golden Deer, the route I like the least. Leonie. Very strong in whatever she does. Great "personal" weapon from her Gaiden chapter. Sylvain. Maybe not as strong as Ferdinand, but pretty close. Possible to recruit whenever you like (female Byleth). Ingrid. Flying princess, or at least to me. I dislike me needing to rig ATK level ups though. Petra. Though I like to recruit her fast, not that into her swordsplay. But as a pegusus knight she rocks. Felix. In my first playthrough I made him a Mortal Servant, because I was too lazy to invest in training something else but his sword. Much better with other ranks. Hilda. For some reason I had trouble getting her in Blue Lions. Disliked the part her being impossible to get in Crimson Flower. Mercedes. My favorite healer. I think she is rather cute when she is young. Alot of lost potential there... Marianne. She goes toe to toe with Linhardt for me. Still need to try her as a dancer some day. Catherine. Pretty strong early in the game, with a free stronigh Brave weapon. With NG+ she is better. But requires training in your first few playthroughs.
  22. Early Alm act3 can be rough. But getting a random paladin encounter that early is the worst. Enemies don't despawn from the map in this game, right? I think you need to back track to the thieves layout to grind then. Just hit early benchmarks for promotion and you should be fine. Base paladin Tobin with Ridersbane will do great. You can swap the Ridersbane around while chipping. Faye as a mage might hurt a bit in survivability, but great in offense. Female mage units do promote late though.
  23. For me, Fates is all about fun. What you did sounds exactly like that, so I would say you did a great job.
