Vestaria Saga Part 1 Out Now + Discussion Topic
Star and Moon replied to VincentASM's topic in Saga Series
I downloaded the game today but it won't launch for me. The process 'SRPG Studio Game Engine' appears in the task manager but nothing comes up while it's running and it just slows down my computer. Anybody know what's wrong? -
“Perhaps…But if none are spared from the blaze, where do the rumors come from?" - Marth, Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon. I dunno why but I always thought that this was a cool response.

I no longer like to emulate games and the fact that emulation is currently the only way I'll ever be able to play this game is upsetting, especially since I'm convinced that this game will be my favorite Fire Emblem game. Rumors have been going around that MOTHER 3 is getting a translation, so it seems that Nintendo will bring a game overseas if enough people ask for it, but it's just a pipe-dream to believe that they'd do that with this game.

Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon seems to be the one Fire Emblem that nobody's ever played. When I played it a lot at school last year, the few people I've come across who actually knew what Fire Emblem was were only familiar with Awakening, or in a few cases the GBA games. Xenoblade Chronicles X is niche game on a niche console, so you bet nobody's ever heard of it! It's really good though. Not many people have heard of Earthbound, but the first game of the trilogy Earthbound Beginnings (aka MOTHER) is easily the least well known of the three. People don't give it much credit because most say it's too grindy, frustrating and/or difficult... but I gotta facepalm because honestly MOTHER 3 had it worse yet nobody seems to notice? Hedgewars is a FOSS clone of the strategy series Worms that I used to play a lot. It's rather unheard of. Can't think of anything else atm. May edit and add later.

Will Fire Emblem Return to Consoles?
Star and Moon replied to Sentacotus's topic in General Fire Emblem
Fire Emblem works really well on handhelds, so I doubt it will go back to consoles. If they were to put FE on consoles again, though, it'd either have to be a spinoff or the most massive Fire Emblem game that has ever existed (Actually... I'd really like to see that).- 26 replies

What are the odds of a Vestaria Saga fan translation?
Star and Moon replied to MCProductions's topic in Saga Series
Shoot, this game really doesn't have that much interest in it, does it? I really wouldn't want to play this without a complete translation, and I'm still more interested in this than I am in Fates (which I have yet to buy). Hopefully somebody is able to fully translate it... -
One good thing, one bad thing in every game you've played.

Blazing Sword Liked - Overall was fun, and had some cool artwork. Disliked - The save system. How many times have I watched Matthew die, thinking that if I keep reloading the save eventually Guy will miss and not murder him? Also the fact that I could not recruit Guy because he kept killing Matthew and eventually I gave up resetting. Path of Radiance Liked - EXP distribution at base, plus great story. Disliked - Biorhythm, and gameplay had a tendency to drag. Shadow Dragon Liked - Challenging gameplay (helped me be actually good at strategy), and an interesting story with good writing. Disliked - Gameplay could drag at points, plus Marth had terrible growth. Awakening Liked - Fun characters and casual gameplay. (I could relax while playing this game, not so much with the other FE games.) Disliked - A little too easy at times and also TIME TRAVEL WHY. -
I got really angry when the Honest Trailer described Papyrus as "narcissistic" when he's easily the nicest character in the game.
-
I actually really liked the over-the-top animations of the GBA era, but they could get boring after a while because there's no variation to it, besides the critical hit. Path of Radiance is the only game I played where I just had to turn off the animations, because they are SO slow and SO boring.

I once joked about how Gaius x Basilio should be a thing and now I can't stop seeing it. I restart chapters way too often. I sometimes focus too much on gaining support levels between characters, only to see the conversations. I actually think Shadow Dragon is a good game and that it gets way too much hate. I really want to play Heroes of Light and Shadow but I'm also trying to avoid emulation so I'll probably never get to play it.

Fire Emblem and its real-life inspirations.
Star and Moon replied to NewDisplayName's topic in General Fire Emblem
Cain and Abel from the Archanea series are named after the biblical Cain and Abel. Often makes me think of them as brothers, but I don't actually think that's true. -
Do you want a new English-language FE 3/12 remake?
Star and Moon replied to NewDisplayName's topic in General Fire Emblem
I was thinking mainly about the multiplayer, support logs, casual/classic modes, avatar system, stuff like that. -
Do you want a new English-language FE 3/12 remake?
Star and Moon replied to NewDisplayName's topic in General Fire Emblem
I'd much rather have a translated version of Fire Emblem 12. It's already got all the modern FE features, 'sides waifus, so there's no reason to remake it once more. However, if it WERE to be remade again, I think it'd be best if it was in a remastered collection of the first 3 FE games, for Wii U.
