  1. That's fine. While we're on the subject of Advance Wars, you ever heard of Totally Flaked? http://www.advance-wars-net.com/?g=fanworks&m=Totally_Flaked
  2. Green Earth. Yellow Comet.
  3. I thought Rabbattack was one of the local uneducated trolls? Would explain his horrible spelling and ignorance towards Malledus' existence, in any case... We're getting off-topic. Shanan seems to be outside any normal archetypes. He's the series' first swordmaster, wields a holy sword, and is completely up-front with his identity. Speaking of the characters you've listed, Karel is much closer to being a traditional Navarre. Guy was both too young and had too different a personality to be a true Navarre, while Raven had a clearly defined backstory of being former nobility, a "friendship" with a vassal, and had short hair instead of long. Navarres are known for being stoic, wielding a sword with high crit rate, having long hair, and possessing a vague or no backstory for why they became the way they were. Karel fits all that, and according to TVTropes, also seems to be a clone of Ruruoni Kenshin, some stupid anime character I'll never research because anime seems to be less about the work than it is about officially merchandised pornography. Anyways, Karel seems nothing like Shanan besides the long hair and Swordmaster class. Say'ri? Don't make me laugh. She's clearly cloned from Karla. Oriental female Swordmaster with long black hair, with a character revolving around her brother. She's also inherited some details from Echidna in how she's leading a resistance against a bunch of corrupt colonials, and how her arc is basically completely and utterly meaningless filler from start to finish.
  4. Either Valkyrie or Sorcerer for your final result. Also, why did you waifu the first thing you saw?
  5. First, [citation needed]. Second, they live in a wasteland that's half desert. How could they possibly be rich?
  6. The people seemed perfectly capable of ditching Gangrel of their own volition in Chapter 11. How the hell could that be construed as "Throwing yourself off a cliff because your king is evil"? That's more "willingly declaring neutrality and going under the responsibility of a neighbouring country". That's what happened with Daein; Crimea was given permission to reign over it after the war, but declined for the sake of their own reparations, allowing ownership to pass into Begnion. The same could be said here: Plegia gets passed into Ylisse's ownership, and if it didn't, Ferox could decide to take responsibility of governing it. It doesn't make sense that their people got left completely alone so a bunch of cultists could take over two years later.
  7. Basilio isn't a Lorenz. He's bald, beardless, and black. If anything, he's Garret with an eyepatch.
  8. Why do people keep working on the theory that FE13 did something right?! It's post-purchase rationalization! You're all too afraid of admitting to yourselves that the plot falls apart the instant you ask "why?", and are applying your own mostly-unfounded theories to close plot holes. It's like how people keep rationalizing the Ridley scene in Metroid: Other M as PTSD when it was just outright weakness. And no matter what your theories are on what the devs were trying to say, you forget one important fact: Me, RJ and Kai aren't after 13 for what it tried to do; we're here for what it DID. And what it DID was create a one-dimensional villainous cult formed from a country populated entirely by bandits whose goals were to revive an evil dragon to blow up the world without any justification, motivation or rationale in the main story.
  9. I don't think he's talking about the skill. I think he's talking about him projecting onto Inigo rather than MU as king of the world.@Glaceon: I put half an hour of effort into that counterattack. Why shouldn't I get angry when someone tells me I'm trying too hard?!
  10. And this is our problem...how? All you're doing by posting this is helping my psychological profiling for anyone who entered the series through FE13. Please calm down.
  11. How many topics have we gotten on FE13 on the general subforum?
  12. http://www.nintendo.co.jp/fe/kakusei_bk/kekka/index.html For what it's worth, the characters seem mostly judged by screentime. Even then, Gregor still gets 11th place, ahead of Frederick and Kanji. Basilio still gets 22nd, though ahead of Ricken and Vaike. Meanwhile, Flavia is dead last, followed by the tomboys, the brain damaged Nyna, and the Playboy Bunny. ...Huh. How the hell did the daughteru manage to be ahead of the loli? You confuse me, Japan. Though Tiki/Rei barely edging out Severa/Asuka is expected, and I guess Cherche/Misato just barely beating them is quite the revelation for me.
  13. Speeaking of loss, I'd have to say that it's a split between 6 and 8 for the most balanced feeling of loss. 6 had the fall of several duchies in Lycia, the revolution in the Western Isles, a complete overturning of Etruria's political climate, half of Ilia and Sacae's populace was mowed down, and Bern was left barely intact. 8 had the death of 3 countries' leaders and their military, monsters having ransacked the continent, and an earthquake demolishing all of Grado. I like it because there's room for things to be fixed and grow better. 3 had everyone either die, go into exile, or be forever depressed while Marth ruled the entire continent. Half the continent was no-man's land, and an entire race was slaughtered. 4 was the same, but without the no-man's-land. And any analysis of 10 can never make sense because all time was stopped so that Ike and co. could go on a rampage murdering Begnion's populace and politicians without any ramifications whatsoever. No one could possibly consider the ramificstions of there being a flash of light, and half their population has suddenly disappeared.
  14. Perhaps, but the point is that there were no real consequences of that sacrifice. Emmeryn still lives, almost all of Plegia surrenders, its fringe groups are mowed down, and etc. Honestly, I could've been able to still take it seriously with Emmeryn being alove. They could've taken it where she may still live, but she'll never be the same person again. She can have a new life free of the 18 years of stress she suffered as Queen of Archanea as a reward for said stress. Her gaiden would end with Chrom realizing this, declaring her not to be Emmeryn and just let her live in peace. And for christ's sake, NOT have that speech impediment at all! Instead, they pretend her only injury was to her ability to speak, she joins the party, and I have to profusely vomit as I subconsciously know that there are people out there that find brain-damaged vegetables sexually appealing. It's like Katawa Shoujo, only without the inherent self-awareness of being literally spawned by 4chan.
  15. You people are looking for in-universe explanations when you should be looking for "why did the developers make x like y?".
  16. Since when have Africans, Chinese or South Americans ever lived in Japan? Besides, the point of Validar's dark skin is just to make him look even more evil, that's all.
  17. Constuctive criticism, eh? Okay then. How about instead of Validar being ridiculously obvious in his evil, he instead gets a redesign to make him seem nicer looking, probably getting some similarity to the default MU. Then make him completely open and nice with the protagonists in Chapter 13, explaining to everyone about how MU is his kid, and giving the party troops in the form of Henry. Then get rid of Yurius almost entirely. Make Chapter 23 end with Validar pulling a Nergal and reviving Grima as he dies. They can then use Yurius the same way he's used in the final level as a last-minute hype raiser.
  18. Oh look, I managed to decipher something in all this tl;dr. While we're on the topic of Validar needing the Emblem, may I just state that there's no reason for Chrom to need it, either. Naga's supposed to be a Good Guy God, so there's no way they'd let the Grimleal blow it up. So why the hell does it require the five nerfed Spheres to be inserted? Naga seems capable of doing whatever, as evidenced by being alive, teleporting the team onto Evil Dragon God #407's back, and fully healing the party when Yurius hits them with Heartless Angel. I'm sure they could just power up the not-Falchion anytime they'd like. If Validar wanted it just to keep it away from Chrom, he would have done well to have hidden the not-Darksphere, or at the very least not attach it to the Emblem in Chapter 21.
  19. Eh, I've lost interest in this thread. Everyone's posts keep becoming tl;dr nitpicking at "what if's". And seeing someone bring up "The necromancers weren't getting paid enough" is just one big warning sign that productive conversation has ended. You can claim your moral victory at any time, Knux. I'll just leave off that no matter what happens, I will never, ever respect or enjoy FE13 for as long as I live. I don't care if it sold enough to not get cancelled, I still found the game genuinely offensive to my tastes as a gamer, and for it to end up dictating the rest of the series is almost traumatic. I need to work up the initiative to tear this game up Banzai-style.
  20. And you claim NOT to be taking a holier-than-thou stance. Stop using font. https://wiki.teamfortress.com/w/images/c/c4/Demoman_laughlong02.wav?t=20110303112439
  21. Why would you trust those guys? They're so desperate for finding patterns, they've gone to war on whether Mallesia, Maria or Yumina started the "spunky cleric" pattern when it's actually the ANIME archetype of Ojous.
  22. You mean the Regna Ferox that got nearly wiped out by Valm in Chapter 12, and had its leaders and remaining military in Valm along with Chrom?
  23. You're focusing a little too much on singling out the Valm arc exclusively. It leaves you wide open for the argument that Chrom still left a moustache-twirling villain with an army of zombies have free reign on his continent while he was busy killing Imperials.
  24. Except Artemis' Curse is real, and it wasn't Artemis who caused it. Either way, beyond that, it never gave Cartas any powers. It was just a banner he used to rally humanity into fighting back against Medeus. And while we're on the subject of geography, I'll just mention Talys and leave it at that.
  25. How? She's a dancer. She's not supposed to be able to fight. They probably gave her sword access on a lark. Wow, that's hilariously incorrect.
