  1. Well, it's be fun working on this hack for as long as I have. It's gone through quite a bit of updates, but this is the last of it.

    > V - FINAL:
    >
    > - Secret character H given 2% move growth
    > - Dexithea move growth is now 10%, base axe rank is C, and personal skill is now mageslayer
    > - Dullahan's personal skill is now bow breaker
    > - Katherin's magic growth is now 20% (was 5% before)
    > - Mage slayer now adds +5 attack and +50 hit and crit
    > - In chapter 1, an enemy archer was changed to be a mage
    > - Master seals and crowns can now be sold
    > - The sub boss of chapter 19 now drops a restore staff
    > - Fixed occasional ram bug when using vulnerary after mov or con level up

**In Addition to the above, there are now patches for 100% Growth Mode and NO FATIGUE**

100% growths mean 100% move and con, so enjoy!

Please find the final patches for Sun God's Wrath (SGW) in this release. If you've played the hack before, maybe these updates will
make you play it again. If you've never played the hack and want to try it for the first time, I hope you enjoy!

Let's meet again when I release my next hack! Hopefully I won't have COVID then like I do now lol

As always, you can find the most recent patch here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ck6l6c5ri3fwhon/SGW_Complete.zip?dl=0

    Sincerely,

    Blademaster

  2. It's finally happened! Mekkah has now finished his LP of Sun God's Wrath! If you haven't had the chance to check it out and are in the mood for more SGW content, you can find it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=czzWylUGuwo&list=PLA69XE9lKaI6bf2la_0FcQpV7VFXLnkVy

I am truly grateful to have had the chance for this hack to be played by Mekkah as this hack went through quite a lot of improvements thanks to his advice, both before(through his many videos) and while he was playing the hack. It was a blast to see him play it and I had many laughs and good times. I hope those who watch it can get the same enjoyment out of it!

As another bit of news, I am working on what will truly be the final patch of SGW. It will as such be labeled final on the title screen. The current planned changes for the next patch are:

    > - Make Master seals and crowns sell-able (500g and 1000g respectively)
    > - Add a 100% growth mode patch
    > - Add separate patches that remove fatigue (I haven't decided on what to do about S drinks and pouches yet)

As this will be the final patch, please feel free to offer up any suggestions.

Thank you again to Mekkah for playing!

  3. Happy belated New Year, everyone!

SGW v1.66 is now out at the usual link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ck6l6c5ri3fwhon/SGW_Complete.zip?dl=0

    The changes are as follows:

    > V1.66:
    >
    > - Dullahan skill +3
    > - Dullahan leans Quick Draw one level faster
    > - Aura blade now negates criticals
    > - Barry now has Axefaith instead of axe faire
    > - Alice now has S rank Axes
    > - Nicole can use S rank staves in tier 3
    > - Text fixes

Originally, I intended for this patch to have included a fix for the growth display error when map animations were on, but the fix for that had errors, so that fix couldn't be realized. As such, this is just a collection of fixes recommended to me over the past six months.

That being said, this is likely the final balance update to SGW. I will likely only do bug fixes in the future.

I have been toying around with making a new hack, so any future FE hacking I do I'd like to have be focused on that. I don't know if such a future hack will ever be completed or even really worked on, but that's just how things are at this time.

Thank you again for all your support over these past few months/year, and I hope you've enjoyed playing SGW! And if you're a new player, I hope you enjoy SGW!

  4. It's two weeks late, but V1.65 is finally ready and available at the usual link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ck6l6c5ri3fwhon/SGW_Complete.zip?dl=0

The changelog ended up being much smaller than I originally thought:

    > V1.65:
    >
    > - Added in new divine and mage dragon animations
    > - Fixed various typos
    > - Added torch staff to chapter 20 pre map shop
    > - Added in a support conversation for Janet and Alice

    mxcxTuM.png

Thank you again for all the warm wishes and support for SGW over the past year! There will likely only be one more update to SGW (unless some serious bug is found) before I can say it's finally as complete as it will get.

Until next time, to those looking to play the game again or are playing it for the first time, enjoy!

  5. Today marks a momentous occasion. It is the 1st year anniversary of the first release of SGW! Originally, I wanted to have a new update ready for today, but I ended up being super busy this weekend due to family issues. As such, I will try to release the anniversary update next weekend.

A lot has happened with SGW this past year. More people have played the hack than I ever thought would. There were many Let's Plays, something I honestly didn't expect to see as I would have been happy if even one was made. I saw old friends I hadn't seen in years come back to congratulate and play the hack now that it was finished. I got to interact with many new friends through YouTube and the Discord. It's been a humbling experience and makes me proud to know how nice everyone in the Fire Emblem community can really be, and I cherish the feedback they gave me as it helped SGW reach the state it's in now.

Even though SGW was 1st released a year ago, there have still been quite a lot of updates to the game, even a year later. The state that the game is in now, story aside, is in a pretty good place if you ask me. I'm almost ready to say it's finally as complete as it can get. After working on this hack for so many years, it'll be both nice and sad to see my work on it come to an end, but I hope everyone has been able to enjoy the hack all the same!

Thank you again to everyone who took the time to play and contribute to the improvement of SGW this past year! I hope it at least managed to bring you some joy when you played it!

I love this game so far! I just finished Chapter 7, and it has been phenomenal, it is tough but fair! This is the first FE game/Hack I've played where I'm torturing myself trying to figure out who to bring on missions with me, you've done a fantastic job of making every character I've seen (so far at least) provide value.

Thank you! I'm glad you're enjoying it! Everyone is usable, so feel free to use who you want and enjoy!

Oh my god... I just STARTED PLAYING 1.63 LMFAO.

Is my save compatible with this one? Also I LOVE THIS HACK! It's so fun. You and your team did such a good job with it ^_^

Very very well done. BTW. in 1.63 there is a support that some guy has with "Nia" that isn't unlocked in the otherwise 100% completed Support menu... Kind of strange

Yes, your .sav should be compatible. That support you are referring too is just fluff. There are no conversations for it.

  8. Hope you are all doing well! SGW V1.64 is here. It adds in some minor updates and fixes two noticeable bugs. As always, the link to the download can be found here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ck6l6c5ri3fwhon/SGW_Complete.zip?dl=0

As mentioned previously, I am hoping this is the real final release of this hack. If it wasn't for the fact that I was fixing the two noticeable bugs, I probably wouldn't have made this update. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you find any bugs.

Change log can be found below:

    > V1.64:
    >
    > - Fixed bug where if you beat chapter 14 before turn 3, you still recruit Iris in the chapter 15 prep screen

Pyron... Sun God's Wrath... is @Blademaster! a Kid Icarus Uprising fan, or am I reading too much into a coincidental naming? Then again, for all I know, Ryu being the home of the Dragons is a reference to Ryu from Street Fighter. I mean, Shoryuken does mean "Ris

It's a Capcom/Darkstalkers reference. A lot of the references are.

  10. What I'm hoping is the final update for real this time is now ready: SGW 1.63 is here. You can download the update at the same link as always: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ck6l6c5ri3fwhon/SGW_Complete.zip?dl=0

    > - Bishops now have A staves
    > - Boosted Baron speed cap and promotion into class by 1

  11. So right after I released the previous patch, someone on YouTube (I do my best to read feedback everywhere, so please never hesitate to contact me with bug questions!) was kind enough to point out a game breaking bug that's existed since V1.6 soooooooo....

V1.62 is now out at the usual link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ck6l6c5ri3fwhon/SGW_Complete.zip?dl=0

My apologies that my incompetence lead to back to back updates like this.

    Changelog:

    > V1.62:
    >
    > - Fixes gamebreaking bugs related to a certain chapter 17 boss's weapon

  12. SGW v1.61 is now out. It fixes some critical bugs that were discovered in the past week and adds in some changes that I wanted to make but forgot to in the previous update.

Now, this time I mean it when I am going on a hacking break...

I will probably do a more elaborate feedback later, but for now some quick questions would be

    1. is 0 growth rate patch for the people seeking harder difficulty?

    2. Some character have cutscenes apparences or further chapter apparences. I know that some are very major and does influence the outcome or endings (i suppose), but some bosses are clearly meant for you to not kill them. For example, what if you kill pyron in chapter 16? What if I kill lynch the first chapter he appeared? (would be impossible on 0 growth hard mode).

Basically, id like to know if there is a the visual reference. about if x character is dead/alive -> event. Including very small details, special dialogs etc.

    Thanks!! 🙂

    1. Yes, it's for people who want more of a challenge.
    2. There is no such guide. Killing or leaving optional bosses alive can have different affects on events in the game.

  14. SGW V1.6 is finally here at last! But, with a bit of added and important news. SGW V1.6 is likely going to be the last update for the main SGW game. I don't have any further balance changes or additions in mind that aren't going to be lunatic mode exclusive and I think the difficulty is as good as it'll get.

The only other updates that may come after this one are game breaking bug fixes. Either way, thank you to everyone for your support in helping SGW get this far. Lunatic mode is a long while away, but I hope you can play it one day! In the mean time, I'm going on a hacking vacation for sure this time...

Made an account just to say that I've played almost all major hacks out there and that this one is absolutely top 5 or so. It is very ambitious and tbh, I was overwhelmed a bit at first but it feels like even late into the game I'm always discovering new items or classes. Pretty much all the units are usable and have their own strengths/weaknesses. Like I avoided using Lex or Evan my first run, but on my second run, they're hard-carrying me.

My only minor criticism is, like others have already said, the rate of gold acquisition. I do really like the capture mechanic and once I better understood how to use it, I stopped having money problems until like Chp 15 or so. Around then, it becomes less feasible to capture units (due to the nature of needing to last hit and there being much more units and therefore less turns to use fucking around). I do think Capture should continue being necessary to use around then, but I think a good middle ground would  be slightly reducing shop costs (especially staves.) Scarcity for stronger items is good but it should be less punishing especially to newer players. Like rather than running out of weapons and staves entirely if you don't optimally capture, make it so Heal and Steel weapons are easy available while still being "suboptimal." Hope I made sense and thanks for the hack!

Thank you for this feedback and I'm glad you enjoyed the hack! Reducing the costs of staves is something that people have mentioned to me before and I don't want to do as I would rather make the player actually try and capture them more often than buy them. This hack gives the player so many weapons that capturing them isn't super necessary, but staves and to an extent bows are a bit of an exception to that, and I don't want to change that.

  16. A huge milestone for SGW has finally been reached! After having started in August 2020 and being willing to put up with all the updates this hack has had, Cornchip has finally finished his SGW LP of normal mode! And it was quite the adventure!

If you're interested in watching it, please check it out from the first video here:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_treUaRxk0&list=PLlA6bN4Mby0Tht6-Xo8mDTnwgZSVhZW1_&index=1

I'm looking forward to what Cornchip does next and I wish him (and I hope you do too!) the best on his future projects! He's a great guy!

Just finished your hack in hard mode and i have to sign up for an sereneforest account to say: IT'S AWESOME. This is the 1st time i try to play a gba FE hack, but everything exceeds my expectation. From story to gameplay, animation and music, it took me 40 hours+ in 3 days to finish (blinded mode). I must admit that i even like the gameplay of this hack more than latest FEs from 3ds and NS

      Hide contents

Quite impressive about the way you design chapter 25, you even let the shop sell armorslayer lol

Now i can't enjoy other FE hacks because i just loved yours though i already finished it.

Thank you very much and I'm glad you liked it! There are much better hacks than this one out there, so I'm sure you'll enjoy any you try out!

Hey guys, really enjoying the hack so far.  But I've been ignoring Daedalus due to a glut of axe wielders in my team, and I've had him be a required deployment for the last three or so maps.  Is that going to continue?  I'd love to know whether I have to use him for the rest of the game so I can train him up now instead of being dead weight

Yes, he is a lord character.

Hey dudes. This looks an awesome hack but im stumped. Im playing this on meboy on my phone and i cant get past the initial save and it always hangs. I used a fresh us fe8 rom and just patched the file with the included ips. Did i somehow messed up? I didnt patch the already patched rom with the growth patch included. It might be relevant so i added that info.

This doesn't use IPS for patching, but UPS. Try patching with NUPS or use the mobile patch link in the OP and see if that changes anything.

I had Artemis fight Garrison and he mentioned that he ordered his wife and children killed. Wouldn't that include Artemis' parents? Did he keep her alive because she was useful or something? Is this mentioned in a support conversation or something?

On a side note, I started a new game and Ulysses got TWO MOVEMENT POINTS IN HIS FIRST TWO LEVELS! :wtf:

Yeah, he killed his wife and children but let Artemis live because he thought she had potential.

  20. Hope everyone had a happy new year! SGW V1.52 is now out at the usual download spot: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ck6l6c5ri3fwhon/SGW_Complete.zip?dl=0

    > - Buffed Nicole's Str and skl growthes by 5%
    > - Buffed Derek's spd and def growthes by 10%, luk by 15%
    > - Buffed Nereid's HP growth by 30%, base str and con by 1, base def/res by 2, base mag by 5, sword rank boosted to B
    > - Buffed Oreades's base speed by 1 and base def by 2
    > - Buffed Dullahan's res by 12
    > - Buffed Jeff's HP by 10, speed by 4, but lowered luck by 7
    > - Buffed secret character R's speed by 5 capping it (speed growth set to 0 as a result), buffed movement growth to 200%

A lot of these are changes I wanted to make for V1.5, but forgot to do so... as such, this patch was released quite quickly. I have no other balance changes in mind for the foreseeable future, so the next patch should hopefully just be for the release of lunatic mode.

Thank you all for your patience with lunatic mode and for putting up with all these updates for the past few months since the initial completed release. I hope you'll enjoy SGW in 2021 as well!
