  1. Luk only does one thing in this game, and that is boost avoid by one point. Nothing more. Is mounted units reaching the enemy faster really all that much of a good thing? Personally, I find the best strategy in this game is to let the enemy come to you and destroy them with your entire team afterwards. I've never really found being mounted to be that much of a boon that it automatically makes you better. Also, I think Nanna!Beowolf should move down. Unless you already acounted for this, I believe her position refelects how she is as a unit with Fin as her father. Nanna!Beowolf has duel. Duel is a negative for a unit like Nanna, as it may cause her to take too much damage. But personally, I found duel to be a negative for Beowolf, and I'd imagine I'd feel the same about Delmud!Beowolf too, but not as much. Duel is really only good for indirect attacking, and Nanna!Beowolf probably won't be doing that to much.
  2. The fact that her crit rate is lower than Shinon's is one of those things that's technically true but realistically nonsense, since his "lead" is merely +2 SKL (which she evaporates as she levels) and the possbility of a Bond support. Saying that she's using a skill that anyone can use implies that everyone uses it equally, which is hilariously wrong. You've clearly never run the numbers for it, and I don't feel like doing a Colin Powell on this one, but I will give you a common scenario. Titania with Adept has a 21% chance to ORKO via Adept. Her crit chance is lolwut because of her low skill and lack of innate crit. Even giving her a forge erases some of the gains there because of enemy LCK. Mia's chance to ORKO at base level in this example scenario is ~48%, since an Adept on either of her hits will result in a kill. Also, she has decent SKL and +10 Swordmaster crit, so listed crit happens even if you give her something as dumb as a Steel Blade. Mia can only bond support with Rhys or Ilyana. I don't see either of them ever really being in a possition to give Mia a crit bonus. When I said anyone can use that skill, I meant ANYONE can use that skill. And in terms of using it equally, Before 3rd tier promotions how large could the biggest difference be in terms of using it equally? And does getting one adept result in her getting a kill? I imagine she deals about 12 damage per hit against enemies with over 36 Hp. I'm not trying to make an argument, I'd just like some numbers or a link to where there are numbers. Also, is the ~48% a typo? If it isn't I assume it's including her criticaling chances when she is equiped with a killing edge. Also, I haven't run the numbers because I'm asking what the numbers are. Yeah.....
  3. And now you know one of the reasons why Mia is dominating High tier. EDIT: although it's not technically true that nobody is ORKO'ing cleanly, it's just hard to do it consistently. Ike can do it (Ettard is not his best weapon, just so that you know), Gatrie can do it if you early crown him (uncapped STR plus his axes make it possible), Ulki/Janaff can do it with some combination of Energy Drops and/or supports, etc. Because she can use a skill anyone can use with a lower critical rate than Shinon (for a while anyway)? And even with adept, would that really save her by that much? I'd just like to see some numbers, like avg enemy def and Hp, and how much str she has by then and what weapon she's using or something like that. It's more of an In query than a complaint, I guess. The only enemies I can't see people ORKO'ing consistently are Swordmasters and Generals due to their Spd and Def respectively. I used Ettard as an example for Ike as I imagine it would be the most common weapon he is using until he gets Ragnell. Any sword more powerful than that I'd probably give to Mia or Mist.
  4. Since Leo doesn't counter with his PRF bow, that means that I can plug a hole with him, and not worry about him clearing space and killing himself, like I would with Nolan. It's not impossible to get him to a point where he is 2RKO'ed by the map, so you can keep him alive with chain-healing or by manipulating a laguz to untrnasform in front of the only facing that he has. I am never ever going to understand how tier lists work if people are making statements like this proving that Archers not being able to counter 1 range can be a good thing. I mean, the only thing that I could imagine is keeping Shinon out of top tier would be the fact that he can't counter. The only stat he does poorly in is really just str, and that is fixed with the silencer once you can buy it at 3-4 and the killer bow. And even str he doesn't do to bad in. And unless you did a data transfer, Rolf is very likely not going to be able to use the silencer by 3-4. Shinon doesn't do nearly as much as the other units around him because they can take out multiples on enemy phase and not die because they have durability and aren't facing enemies that 2HKO them at high hit rates. And he needs his str fixed before he's consistently ORKOing even with silencer. All it boosts is his str, or at least that's the only important thing being boosted earlier with it. Which basically means as soon as he gets the silencer he should be ORKOing, or at least a level or two earlier than normal. So the difference is a couple of chapters more of pulling ORKOs than before. Still restricted to player phase, and any crossbow action doesn't care that he has more str than before. So does ORKOing a couple of things earlier move him above Nolan? I doubt it. Not if Shinon(N) isn't above him. Beyond that, of course Shinon(T) > Shinon(N), but there isn't really much point in listing him twice if nobody is in between, is there? Elincia is better than before, considering 24 speed lets her start doubling 3 levels earlier in part 4, and so are a few other units, but that doesn't necessarily put them higher when compared to the other units than previously. 1500 is probably boosting your forge by another 10 hit and adding 1 mt. Every bit you don't waste on unnecessary things means more can be spent on things like forges. And lugh DOES guarantee kills on cats. And the bowgun guarantees kills on EVERYTHING in 3-6. What's your problem? The fact that you can make the statement that Shinon is having trouble consistently ORKO'ing with the silencer is mind boggling. If Shinon isn't ORKO'ing consistently with the silencer at BASE str, no one should be ORKO'ing anything ever without a critial or adept. Silencer has 16 might. Shinon has base 21 str. 21 + 16 = 37. Ike at max str with Ettard should be ORKO'ing anything except generals(assuming he doubles), and that only brings his max damage to 39. Also, the only units I imagine the GM's have who can attack and kill multiple enemies effectively in HM are Gatrie, Haar, and Brom, and even they are still dying if there are to many enemies. (They have better chances than the DB, but they are still dying.) Also, I am not a person to argue Nolan to be moved done. Having 5 out of 7 playthoughs with him having sub par performance, one with him having decent, and only on my most recent with him actually being pretty good, I have a terrible bias towards him. My playing style does not welcome Nolan very well. Esspecially in hard mode, and especially in part 3 where Aran and Tauroneo are king (at least for me anyway). I get the feeling I should have more to say, but it escapes me at the moment, so I'm sorry if my argument seems incomplete or something.
  5. Since Leo doesn't counter with his PRF bow, that means that I can plug a hole with him, and not worry about him clearing space and killing himself, like I would with Nolan. And unless you did a data transfer, Rolf is very likely not going to be able to use the silencer by 3-4. And speaking of Shinon, the fact that he is capping skl and spd with a data transfer at his base level should make him an amazing candidate for bxp, as he is only 2 points away from capping hp and res, 3 points for magic, and 4 points for def. I don't think the data transfer version of Shinon would be equal to his non data transfer version if he already has 2 stats capped at his base lvl. Crossbows guarantee kills. His PRF weapon doesn't. Also, is 3500 G really all that much? I can't imagine it would be. Also, on the subject of Calill receiving Largo's bonuses, the official Japanese website says that she does, so at the very least it is confirmed for the Japanese version. I can't imagine why this would be removed in the U.S. version considering all the things they added on to make this game easier (The 3 DB PRF weapons, no longer needing master crowns, etc.).
  6. No, not really. Beastfoe is more or less a ORKO for a lot of people on the team, so offensively Leonardo has some credible competition. This isn't really like the situation with Mia, where she's more than twice as good with it on something she doubles and 3HKOs vs. someone who 2HKOs and doesn't double. On top of that, Leonardo can only realistically use it on Player Phase. This does make him the safest Beastfoe user, since he does not counter with his PRF weapon (aka he has a 0% chance to clear space on Enemy Phase and endanger himself), but I wouldn't say that safety necessarily made him the best with it. Nolan and Jill can also safely use Beastfoe, even if not to the extent that Leo can. Why would Leonardo ever use his PRF weapon with Beastfoe when he OHKO's everything on 3-6 with a crossbow?
  7. Wow. That seems kinda odd. I mean, given how high the BK is given that he is really only available for two chapters (would chp 9 really count? I mean, both the BK and Michiah should be lvl 20 by then, and that chapter was made for people to just have fun watching the BK rape people) you'd think Leonardo would be higher given that he helps out a lot on 3-6 and 3-13 should he have beastfoe, and can be pretty useful with the Taksh/his PRF weapon in 3-12. Or if you don't like that: Jill. She brings the fight to them. I think Brave Axe will pretty much kill anything in two hits. The hit rate isn't perfect, but it's decent. Then she goes back and hides. While it's slightly less reliable, it's also more flexible then just 2 range. Point is, he's not getting a huge economic profit out of beastfoe. How do you have a picture of it not working? Someone could just say that you didn't transfer at all, or that Largo wasn't level 20, or something. Burden of proof is on the "it working" angle. Define decent hit. Personally, I don't think Jill is all that great only because she can't hit, but I think a lot of high tier characters in this game are overrated (Nolan, Jill, Nephenee, Mia[though Mia is actually pretty good in my opinion]). I imagine she has around 66% hit on average, 80% at best with the brave axe. Also, wouldn't bringing the fight to them involve you attacking the enemy? Also, crossbows have 1-2 range and you probably wouldn't want to be leaving Leonardo open to being attacked by anything..... ever. And could you please define economic profit? And about the showing a picture of it not working, you may not be able to show a picture, but you could make a very long and extensive video.
  8. Also, I brought up the Calill/Largo data transfer in the site error report section, and right now, there is one response saying that it works. He doesn't have a picture/video though, but neither did anyone who said it didn't work.
  9. On the subject of Leonardo being above Rolf, although this has probably been argued before, I think that Leonardo probably should be above Rolf. Although Nolan can do this to, Leonardo can use crossbows(you can buy one on 3-6) and Beast Foe. At 84 damage, I'd be surprised if there were Tigers surviving that on any chapter that isn't 4-5. Although this may be favoritism, I'd imagine Nolan would be attempting to act as a guard with Tarvos and some sort of support that boost's his def and avoid so I think Leonardo would more likely be using this combo.
  10. Princess's have Charisma as a class skill. Lachesis does have Charisma, but it's a personal skill, and it works exactly like the example you gave with Sety. It's kinda odd in a sense.
  11. How the story of the future is told is something that I should have told through the game very carefully. At the beginning of the game, I'll probably give the current situation of what is going on. As the game progresses, you'd find out more about the future and why people needed to come back in time. I can't have skills exist since I'm not good enough at hacking to do such. Additionally, I believe that the FE4 GBA remake wasn't even able to implement most skills and such. The only skills that will probably exist are critical, Lethality, Steal, Dance, Play, and maybe elite. (Essentially the skills that FE7 already has implemented into the game.) Zolde isn't a place. It's just the name of the bandits gang.
  12. On both FE4 growths (holy blood omitted and holy blood included), Beowolf is listed as having a 20% def growth. I'm pretty sure it should be 30%. If he actually does have the right Def growth though, than Nanna and Delmud have wrong def growths. Also, this was something recently brought up in the FE10 "OMG! It's a tier list" topic, but supposedly Calill doesn't receive any data transfer bonuses from Largo at all. I was wondering if there was any conformation on this since if it is true, then that would need to be changed on the website.
  13. Is McAfee any good? I have somekind of setup with MSN that should allow me to get it for free. In the mean time, I'm going to get Avast since everyone keeps recomending it.
  14. But according to what actually happened, it doesn't. The website can be wrong. It isn't just this website though. If you search it on google or look on gamefaqs, it mentions the same exact thing in multiple places. Also, because there is evidence of their stats not stacking on each other, that points to it having been tested and proven true. And again, this is knowledge about the game that has been known since before the game came out in america, and the fact that Calill would recieve bonuses from Largo should not sound strange should it be true, and makes alot of sense given that he is not playable in the game. It seems to me that it would be very strange for something that has been common knowledge about this game since day one to be wrong after about 2-3 years. Given that this website also has info about the problem with Sothe's data transfer (that was previously unknown), I'm sure this would have been something that has been fixed by now should it not be true. There is more evidence pointing towards the fact that it does work rather than it does not. I'm going to attempt to make a video/take a picture about this problem this weekend, but I may not be able to as I'm curently in a situation where I have no real camera. If someone does know of a place where there is a video/picture, that would save me some time. I really don't want to make such a big deal out of this, but I just find it hard to believe that Calill would not recieve the bonuses after it has been common knowledge for so long. And me thinking as such should not be surprising either given the circumstances of such a statement.
  15. I tried using Largo once, and I got him to level 20. It didn't work. All I got were Calill's boosts. Do you remember the stats that they each capped? The boosts don't overlap. Also, I hope it is not against the rules to post this link, and I apologize if it is, but http://serenesforest.net/fe10/transfer.html Right under base stats it says she recieves the bonus, and being that that note has been there since this game first came out in Japan, if this wasn't true I imagine it would have been fixed by now, esspecially since the note was changed to say that the stats do not stack, and if memory serves, that note was not there the last time I checked.
  16. Because it hasn't been confirmed to work. I've never heard of anyone having Calill with Largo's boosts, and I have personally tried and got only Calill's boosts. But I don't have a fixed disc, so if someone with a fixed disc can try and get a result (with photographic evidence if possible) I'll add it. Also, no comments on my last post? According to this website, it works apparently. And should it really be all that surprising if it does? I mean, it does make sense for her to recieve bonuses from Largo considering he isn't playable and she is his wife and stuff.
  17. I won't be surprised if this has been asked before, but why is Calill recieving no transfer bonuses at all? She recieves bonuses from Largo, who should cap Hp and skl, along with possibly capping str and maybe spd (not sure about speed as it would require speedwings or something). I don't know if this would make her that much higher (the Hp and str boost would be nice I guess) but I just wanted to put this out there since it seems kinda odd that she isn't recieving any transfer bonuses.
  18. Thanks for the help guys. Is Avast that good? I was just planing on getting Norton again since I can get a discount on it when I buy it with Microsoft word. (I have word, but I think it's a trial version. I've just been using notepad for text at the moment. Define "SEEN." If your asking if I have ever gotten one before, then yes. The one I got made it so that if I clicked on a link brought up by a search engine like google, it transfered me to random add and porn websites. Not fun.
  19. Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this topic. Today, my temporary virus protection setup on my laptop by Norton Internet security has run out. Right now, I'm relying on my laptop's windows defender to protect me. Assuming I'm not downloading anything or going onto websites known for being malicious and such, how safe is my computer and how long sould I wait to get any actual virus protection? I plan on getting an actual virus protection program soon (like two or three days), but I wanted to know how safe my computer would be until then. I don't know if this helps, but I'm using a wired connection (I can use wireless to) and I use IE for internet browsing (too lazy to get Firefox.....)
  20. If you're going to use "enemy magnet" as an argument you have to apply it both ways. Sety is not all that durable so he is still a high priority for enemies, and why does it matter if 60 avo is a lot relative to your team? It's not very reassuring when everything with a melee on the map two-shots you at 40~ hit rates. If by After Thracia you mean C10? Good sir, Faval's offense is just fine without Ichival. There's a reason he starts with Killer in his inventory. Secondly offense isn't even Faval's problem. It's no mount OR ability to counter which makes it a PITA to USE his awesome combat which is why he's not higher. Oh, and he's cleaning out arenas with Killer, so he doesn't care about funds. Ichival is nearly reserved for bosses only. Johalava is not always in play, and Leaf would like the ability to counterattack. Furthermore it's a waste on Johalava unless you chuck him the pursuit ring too. Sety is actually fairly durable. He has better def res and avo than Arthur so..... Also, I think you meant chp 9, not chp 10. Faval doesn't start with the killer bow. He starts with the silver bow. Leaf can counter attack if he has bows. Remove allows you to change weapons in this game. That is why we give Arthur!Azel Bolganone. Also, this is just an obsevation of mine, but I think the reason why people have a habit of mentioning Johalva when talking about bows is because, from what I've seen, people have a tendency to recruit him more often than Johan. It's not because he is nessicerally better, but because he is the only playable Fighter in FE4, and most people might be sick of using Axe/Great Knights after using Lex so much in Gen 1.
  21. Faval already has the Ichival/Silver bow, so I can't see why he would want the Hero or Killer Bow in the first place. .....I think Johalva can promote by the start of chp 8.....
  22. I only said it was hard since it can be difficulty to reach that point in time to save the village. And this is more of a personal preferance thing, but I liked it more when I didn't pass down the bargain ring since then Shanan can get it for free when he kills that boss on chp 7 (and yes, he is killing that boss).
  23. Here is my opinion on all the downsides of Arthur!Levin that would cause him to drop down. 1. This is probably the least significant, but Pairing Levin with anyone not named Fury or Sylvia can be fairly difficult as the two are around for about a chapter more and have almost 100 more love points that Tiltyu does. Also, I don't know if Tiltyu can make use of the jealousy system since she has the lowest priority with Levin. 2. Arthur's utility is limited in chp 6 given his position. If you recruited Johan though, he more have more utility since Johalva's troops may go towards him. His utility in other chapters is also somewhat limited due to his 5 mov (this changes upon promotion though). He is a candidate for the leg ring though, so this can change. 3. Without the pursuit or magic ring, Arthur stops OHKO in chapter 7. With the magic ring he will continue to OHKO until chp 8. With the pursuit ring he no longer has any trouble ORKOing. 4. Arthur is fragile. You can have him rely on his high avoid and try and get him to use wrath, but this can be very dangerous as if he gets hit at such low HP he will most likely die, and being hit with such high avoid in FE4 is not un heard of. 5. The earliest he can promote is late chp 8 if he saves some of the children, but generally he will not promote until chp 9. Most of your units will promote at the begining of chp 9 except for anyone with elite, Johan/Johalva, and Corple. Altena just needs to win the Arena to promote. 6. Arthur!Levin essentially needs to use one of the following to resources at all times: The Bargain ring or The Pursuit ring. The bargain ring is fairly difficult to get and may not end up being passed down. The pursuit ring is in high competition. The reason he needs one of the two rings is because if he doesn't have pursuit, he is going to have to rely on holesety to kill enemies with for pretty much the entire game. Holesety is exspensive and that is where the bargain ring comes in to help. Summary: Arthur!Levin requires to many resources. He may be mounted, but he will not mount/promote until chp 9, and if he were to be compared to Sety!Levin, Sety!Levin will have better stats, can use staves, doesn't need as many resources, and can kill fairly well without Holesety which can save you money. And for the record, if Arthur is not a high enough level by the end of chp 7, he is likely to get OHKO's by Blume, since the Tor Hammer generally doesn't miss. Also, at what value of speed do Levin and Fury need for Sety's speed to wrap over? I've never gotten his speed to wrap over before, but I've also never gotten Fury to reach lvl 30 so.....
  24. 20 reserves + 9 Libros. 20 Reserves costs 30000 for Corple[Levin]. This could be an issue. Having Levin buy something isn't a bad idea, but more than 2 things is probably going too far, so he still needs 3 villages, probably, after considering starting $ and a return ring. 20 reserves, so return ring + 3 villages + 5000 starting gold gets it done. Burns them out completely, but holsety in the arena with possible prayer should take care of the repairs, or enough anyway that it's fine. Plus he could do some warping if Levin bought the thing, and possible sell it. That should cover it if he gets like 3000 starting gold or something. So Levin needs to pay 30000 for it all, and he can beat the arena easily. Afterwards, though, I suppose Corple[Levin] may be starting with as little gold as Corple[Claude]. Anyway, how costly is a return ring, 3 villages, and a warp staff? Well, I guess the warp staff is gone until chapter 9, but how useful is it? Maybe Corple will be able to warp Lakche and her brother and faval to the next castle after the mounted units take it over. Though I suppose you miss out on that in chapters 6 to 8. So, 29 turns, possibly less if the warps replace libro uses, possibly more if the warps replace reserve uses. Plus time spent not using a staff. Ignoring the cost of doing this, is it even feasible in a useful amount of time? Yes, that's true. But you could say the same if you had one unit take them all at once [say Lakche or Shanan or Sety or Aless or Serlis or iono really] and had them getting libro'd as opposed to Corple [if they even needed to be healed], only you'd have kill rates much, much better than 50%/60%. 1-2 range? That's the best I can do. True there's terrain but you can't always rely on it, especially when factoring in that it's slowing down Corple even more. Which is why it probably only happens like once or twice in his entire life. ...Where are you getting 5 more HP from? CorpleClaude and CorpleLevin have the same magic growth. If one is promoted and the other is not, 5 more hp. Considering the economic profit is higher for promoting CorpleLevin than CorpleClaude, I'd say it is likely to happen sooner since there is a point in making it happen. So, for a few turns CorpleLevin is healing a lot more. why the hell not CorpleClaude changed to CorpleDew on the list, end four page long Corple debate, Renall unignored [Only did so because he was driving me up the wall with this Corple shit] I suppose if Corple[notDew/Claude] losing so much money is worth not being in the same slot, it could go: Corple[Dew>Claude] Corple[everyone else] if you like. I agree. Claude!Corple should still be listed. Considering how the only reason that Beo!Delmud and Beo!Lachesis are listed instead of the superior (at least in Nanna's case) Fin versions, Claude!Corple is an easier pairing to obtain (Dew has 0+3 love for Sylvia/Claude has 190+1 with a 100 point convo). Additionally, he can use the Valkyrie staff and has Imediate reserve, which is worth something at the very least. He also has better magic, considering that the averages are based on lvl 30 stats (a level Dew is likely to never reach and Claude will reach fairly easily) that can be quite the difference in terms of healing. Also, I don't know where people are getting the Idea that Claude has money troubles. He's great in the arena with the wind tome due to his avoid and magic.
  25. For this hack, I am going to try and do weekly updates that give more information on the hack and show the progress I have made so far. Since I had two updates last week, there will be no update this week (also, I have a lot of tests this week). Next Week's update will have the mugs of the Five previously mentioned characters along with a small bio on Henshin, the only other named character in the hack so far. This bio will be similar to the ones that the five previously mentioned characters had.
