Honestly, the comparisons to Pokemon are misguided. The better comparison is the Zelda Oracle games. Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons shared many assets between the two and was supposed to have a third game as well (but didn't pan out). Despite that, both games were separate stories that were connected. As such, no, I have absolutely no problem paying twice (though I'm getting a limited edition when it comes to the states) or even three times for all three campaigns. Because all three campaigns are different. I'm not paying for 3 thirds of a game which each third full price. I'm paying for 3 full games that are interconnected.

Not entirely. Miyamoto did say he felt like Sticker Star was turning into Thousand Year Door 2, but the group behind it actually decided to do a Club Nintendo poll on it with the choice being to keep the style or change it entirely. Less then 1% wanted the old version. THAT is what led to Sticker Star. So yeah, Club Nintendo is very much to blame for that one.

I'm glad you're optimistic because I'm not. This just happened to be the first disturbing thing that was true. I've seen so many threads in other forums popping up screaming about how a certain character rapes somone. Or how there is gore porn in the game. Or how this game should be banned from the US and started a petition to attempt it. There is so much negative around this game and so much pushing of "THIS IS EVIL DON"T BUY IT BECAUSE OF X" whether X is true or not that I think this game's going to tank everywhere else. There are just so many people just tapdancingly happy this is true because "At least this game can die because it's no longer MY game". GAH! This is horrible! Just when this series was finally taking off it looks like it will be dashed and killed by a bunch of vindictive people.

Oh they know it, they wished that actually happened. There's posts screaming that the series deserves to burn to the ground for DARING to not be 100% about them. Oh, and if you ask them why didn't the support the games, they'll give an excuse for each one. It's just...UGH. Granted, that petition has about as much success as a Level 1 villager against a maxed out Dark Mage but the sheer hatred is overwhelming. My "favorite" is a toss up between there being a rape scene in the game or there's a porn scene with horrible violence in it. Anything to make sure this game looks like the devil.

You think this is bad? You should try some other sites. There was a thread which started by stating the game sold well and it devolved into how the game should have sold like shit and deserved to die because it encouraged date rape. No, I don't know how we got there but that's how much virtirol is headed towards the game. There's petitions to cancel it or to censor it. There's people spreading misinformation to make sure this game seems like the devil. It seems like there is a concentrated effort to make sure this game sells poorly and its driving me up a wall.

Honestly, some of these characters are so blatantly bisexual (i.e. Camilla) that I'm surprised that she doesn't have same-sex S supports so I would like to see more. That being said, have we really not learned our lesson from Tomadachi Life? There's a limit on how much a localization team can cover by themselves. Would I like more? Yes! But companies, and especially century-old companies like Nintendo moves at a snails pace. The fact that LGB couples exist at all is a miracle in it of itself.

I am legitimately shocked that everyone's freaking out. Like, this isn't new. At all. Or isn't the most contrived (that honor goes to Camus). Most Fire Emblem game are connected by twos and threes so it's not surprise that Awakening and Fates are connected.

I don't think that was related to the face rubbing. It's a "surge" that happened when talking to a character outside in the town. You know, like the barracks did sometimes. It's nothing new or attached to the face-rubbing mechanic.

Honestly, this thing is completely harmless. It's probably going to be completely optional as since your avatar will be in every mission given his main character status, he/she will probably raise supports naturally with the other characters. So unless you really want a certain character to be S supported as fast as possible, I don't see the face rubbing thing ever used. As for the face-rubbing itself...there's been so much worse in both eastern and western games that I don't understand the complaints. We've had sex QTEs and "massage" minigames and straight up fortification in both western and eastern games that this "face-rubbing" is quite honestly innocent by comparison. I can't really build up any outrage on the subject. It's not even creepy.
