  1. Fair, but I meant awkward for the Pats in that they just got AB and now this news spills about him, so now they gotta figure out what to do with the off-the-field distraction in AB, especially after trading away one of their WRs hours before this news came to light. I understand this controversy is not on them.
  2. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2853267-patriots-antonio-brown-accused-of-sexual-assault-rape-in-ex-trainers-lawsuit AB accused of sexual assault. Haven't checked out any specifics, so the best take I got is that this is looking real awkward for the Pats if this winds up true.
  3. So things can't change in a year that could cause the score to be different? "No excuse" is a stretch outside of just a regular need to keep winning. Listen, it's okay to call yourself a fan and not bother watching a team should things go downhill (even if you're doing it way prematurely). It hurts to see your team lose. But if your mentality is "ah well, I guess I'll have to wait and see if they're better next year, guess I'll do something else", that's alright. The Pirates aren't exactly doing dandy in the MLB right now, but like always, I'm gonna look forward to next season and so on because they're my home team. I've given up on the season, but as long as I still have hope for the future where anything can happen in a year and like the well-meaning players on the team, I still consider myself a Pirates fan. Same applies to the Steelers if they wind up doing bad this year, and will also apply to the Pens if needed. You can still be a Steelers fan, at least in regards to the history. But ditching them and saying you're no longer a fan shows a lack of faith and love for the team and that you only love them because they win and that's it.
  4. One terrible half against the often-dominant SB champs and you dump the team? That's a pretty prideless and bandwagony mindset. Sure, losing sucks, but if you renounce your fandom not because of reputation but because of performance, were you really a fan of that team the second before they started looking like "a shit team"? Or did you just want to root for a winner you didn't hate beforehand to make you feel good like other bandwagon fans?
  5. Don't forget to warn them about the eggs, Wesker, and the art block among the other stupid memes we have in that community. Especially the art block, full of the most hilarious ridiculousness you can find. 😛 Might need to give that a watch; I missed 3 hours of it when it went live, and I can't seem to find a complete/good King of Fighters retrospective on YT.
  6. Heard some people say that there might have been a conspiracy to get AB on the Pats since the Steelers were unwilling to trade him to NE, and that people are calling for an investigation on the Pats for possibly tampering with the Raiders.
  7. Now Brown is on the PATRIOTS. He can't play tomorrow vs the Steelers, but still, the stupidity train continues. Pats have a lot of talent now, but can Belichick tame AB and keep him in line? Everyone's hyping the Pats up, but I think it's not that simple as it looks...
  8. Well, "leavin'" is right. Brown today got angry that $29M of his guaranteed money was voided, and now he won't play, asking for a release. He wasn't acting like this until after Burfict's hit on him, was he? Because I legit wonder if he got a blow to his brain that messed him up mentally.
  9. I sorta want Nils and Shinon to represent the guys if only to see the potential interactions in a Forging Bonds event between the guy who is racist against laguz and the boy who's pretty much dragon laguz-adjacent by being a manakete. 😛
  10. More AB stupidity. Apparently he got into an altercation with GM Mike Mayock after being upset with being fined for missing practice to the point of threatening to hit him and punting a ball at him (and then being held back by Burfict of all people). Then he got suspended by the Raiders for the first game. Then he apologized and got his suspension lifted. Then he got fined for the altercation and is mad about again. Then Gruden called him to stop the drama and Brown recorded it to post on YouTube. And now I just heard as I type this that Gruden was "amused" by the video. What the hell is happening in Oakland for their last season in the area?
  11. Unless they had plans to release more than 5 DLC characters from the start and kept this info hidden from the public, I think the last character has to be someone extremely spectacular with the intention to end things on a high note.
  12. I mean, gi outfits similar to Ryu and Ken's often show up in fighting games for characters since they are...well, outfits fitting for Japanese-style fighting. Not enough to warrant blindly calling a game a ripoff, especially since Fatal Fury 1 was released the same year as Street Fighter 2. And Terry, the face of the series, doesn't even dress like someone who would remind you of Ryu or Ken, so that'd be weird for a "ripoff". I'm not sure going with one of three lords would go over well. I feel like they're a trio that should show up as a trio, and I don't think they'll get into Smash because of that. Byleth, as much as they're another swordfighter, makes the most sense.
  13. ...you don't know much about traditional fighting games, do you? Because calling it a "Street Fighter ripoff" is equivalent to calling a lot of fighting games "ripoffs" and is a good way to tick off general fighting-game fans. Many fighting games are 1 v 1 side-scrollers with button combinations and stick-tilting maneuvers, as is typical of the genre. That said, SNK and Capcom did have a series of crossover fight games, and Terry was in them and could fight Ryu.
  14. It's here! Reinhardt, Ishtar, Berkut, and...Nephenee?! Also, Rinea's the free unit.
  15. Nope. He said that they would be new to the Smash series and are characters you would not expect to be in. Nothing about his words said they HAD to be new franchises, even if that's been the case so far. Man, everyone seems to mix his words up.
  16. Whoops! Gonna edit that. Dunno how I thought it was regular heroes.
  17. Huh, adding silhouettes for regular Hero banners? That's new for IS. And unless I'm mistaken, doesn't look like Three Houses. Ignore my absentmindedness! Nothing to see here, move along! 😛
  18. You CAN do something about that, though. As Diovani said, watch your words. How you phrase things is an important part of how people react, so contrary to what you day, you DO have influence on how people take what you say. "Man, sad to see that Ike lost" helps people take what you said the right way compared to "Ike should've won", which got you the reaction you did not desire of people thinking you believe characters deserve wins more than others in the past and earlier this thread. Words and their implications are important, especially in writing.
  19. The thing is that you said this... When you say "Ike should've won", you imply that he wasn't supposed to lose, at least with your words. What says Ike "should've" won? Your admiration for him? Your belief that he deserves more notoriety than Micaiah? If Ike had less points in the end, then he should've lost. Simple as that. Bringing up Takumi vs. Shanna like it still is unfair is also not really doing you favors, especially when you once claimed IS rigged it for Shanna to win despite no evidence supporting such an idea. I know you like RD Ike a lot, but to mostly everyone else, he's another Ike alt and it'd be less refreshing to see him win over Micaiah, and we can't sympathize. You wouldn't be happy with another Camilla winning, would you? Despite it essentially being the same logic over why you want Ike's buffer self to win to compliment his younger self's win? Like, whoever wins in the end should have won and will have won, but still.
  20. Maybe you just don't pay much attention to other new franchises outside your bubble, because I have no idea how you escaped knowledge of Banjo all this time until "a few years ago". Persona 5 was a huge hit recently, and 4 was also fairly notable. And yes, Banjo is unquestionably a beloved N64 classic. Ask anyone who loves video games what they think about Banjo, and they'll likely call it a great platformer, maybe talk about whether they prefer the sequel or not, and likely praise Grant Kirkhope's music for the game that made his name well-known among videogame music composers. I'd say it's more notable than DK64, too, and BK's devs made that game as well. I'm not sure about KOS-MOS necessarily. I'd like her a lot, but I'd at least say Xenoblade's popularity has exceeded Xenosaga's, though KOS-MOS is also more popular outside her series for being used in crossovers a fair bit for Namco.
  21. Sakurai mentioned that Xenoblade 2 was too late, and days after one of the trailers, they finalized the DLC fighters in a Tweet. As much as I want Rex, I have doubts. Also, Nintendo chose the DLC characters, not Sakurai. Maybe he can give a recommendation, but otherwise it seems he doesn't have control. And Banjo and Joker ain't obscure by a LONG shot. Especially not Banjo for being from a well-beloved N64 classic. 😛 Anyways, yeah, I had only heard of SNK on occasion thanks to the times they had crossovers with Capcom. My best guesses are either female Terry or one of the Metal Slug characters, but I otherwise have nothing.
  22. Oh, boy. From what I understand, they're blooper outtakes from 2003, back when people weren't as wise as to what was insensitive and wrong and said outtakes weren't supposed to reach the public? In any case, that Twitter account you linked to is the account of a very scummy YouTube grifter by the name of Nick Rekieta (otherwise nicknamed Screech by those of us against Vic). He got Vic a lawyer (who is an incompetent doofus) and has a very questionable past, having done blackface and not apologizing for it and being a lawyer himself with apparently very poor results (and a lack of lawyer cases recently). I dunno how he got those clips (though he has ties to a doxxing site), but he's really just releasing them to distract from Vic's case where he's trying to sue Funi, Monica Rial (who played Mila in Shadows of Valentia), her fiancee, and Jamie Marchi for defamation, aka being part of the many women giving their stories about how Vic's a pedophiliac sex creep. In case you're wondering how the case is going, the expectation among actually competent lawyers is that Vic's going to lose soon due to something called a "TPCA" (I'm not court savvy) which would dismiss the case before summary judgement, if not then, so around October. In fact, more of Vic's dirty laundry came out during the case in the form of affidavits and even Vic's own deposition. Sadly, Vic's fanbase (and those who don't care for Vic and are just Screech's audience) has been harassing the defendants since January, and are still doing so in disturbing ways. Screech has kept them going by showing questionable affidavits that either don't mean anything or were of dubious origin and basically spinning lies typical of one who has no idea how it is being a victim of sexual harassment. This leak of clips is just his latest attempt to get his grifter money, especially since he likely knows the case is lost and is just putting up an act. Sure, it's bad that these existed in the first place, but all the way back to 2003? I think people often change in one and a half decades, especially when we go from having no idea what being LGBT+ is to embracing it. Regardless, they have nothing to do with the case or Vic. In short, the clips were from a long time ago when society was insensitive, Vic's a pedophile today, and don't ever listen to Nick or grifters and/or give them clicks.
  23. I noticed there were ads on his video, so apparently it's monetized...? Also, he seems to have socialized with Keemstar on Twitter, which is a big red flag considering that person's bad reputation. Also, his fans are apparently searching his name on Twitter to strike back at anyone who dares question him with "did you watch the video", giving me some very unfortunately familiar vibes to fans of a certain questionable VA who had his own troubles earlier this year. Better counter than I expected, but he's not purely innocent. Honestly, at this point I feel like all three of them (including Holly and Heidi) are guilty of something questionable.
  24. As a Steelers fan, I actually wouldn't mind the Browns winning the SB after being in irrelevancy all this time, regardless of media expectations. By the way, how about Antonio Brown and his ridiculous saga, huh? Getting his feet messed up, essentially bullying former teammate Juju who did nothing wrong to him, getting angry over helmets and threatening to quit football before deciding to return...and still filing grievances to allow him to wear his old helmet to no avail? Different sport, but the Vegas Golden Knights made it to the Stanley Cup in their first year of existing after drafting players from various teams. It's not that illogical to consider, and the Browns had signs of improvement last season after firing Hue Jackson. The Chiefs also had a strong 9-game winning streak to start 2013 after their 2-14 season in 2012. Preparation doesn't necessarily have to happen over multiple years, even if it's normally the case to build a good team.
  25. You have a point on the first two, but the third time wasn't bad at all. Eliwood got more votes than Marth, that's it. No vote split or anything to "snatch victory from him".
