  1. Waiting is indeed the objectively best way to handle season passes. That said, the eshop straightup mentions on the page for wave 1 that individual DLC waves can not be bought seperately. You have to buy the entire season pass or skip it all. So if money is a concern, skip the season pass until Wave 4. Wave 4 is likely to be the most meangingful aspect of the DLC to begin with.
  2. Last post on this so as to not clutter the thread
  3. Actually, there's a different take for this
  4. Engage is reportedly, supposed to be an anniversary game that got delayed. It's why the Emblems are the past lords and why we have maps that are nearly identical to past ones, only missing out on game-specific features when it comes to the map itself
  5. They did give the various infantry types unique mechanics to make up for this, with Covert having a rather nice one in doubling terrain bonuses but not the penalties. The Emblem type bonuses also sound really nice, though its hard to say how many of them will actually be worth aiming for. That said, stat total doesn't matter that much, but rather how the stats are distributed. Jade from what we've seen as an Armored Axe was very hyper specialized, and from all the footage we've seen from Vander I imagine that him hitting twice without a brave weapon will be a rarity, potential endless grinding on Normal mode aside.
  6. I find it interesting that the investment system feeds into itself, as it improves material gains, gold gain, and exp gain. The achievement system feels a bit of a missed opportunity, was kinda hoping it'd be like the Awakening Renown system or even Three Hopes's achievement system, but it only gives bond fragments
  7. Stats seem to be inflated+optimized this time around. When we saw Jade's level up screen in the JP DLC trailer, she was unpromoted at level 18 and had 50 hp, 26 str, 22 dex, and 26 defense. For being level 18 these stats are honestly absurd
  8. yep, Leif trailer. I don't have too much to say that wasn't known about Leif beforehand, but some interesting things to note is that Rosado is shown as a Sword Knight. Yes, the Sword Knight from Tellius. Oh and Etie was shown as yet *another* completely different type of class. She has the Flier-type engage armaments and she's wielding a spear....Just how open is class changing going to be?
  9. So, Rosado was shown as a Sword Knight, which is another base tier class (and yet another thing returning from Tellius....Now give us third tier classes so we can get Archsage). If we assume Fates style class restrictions, it is likely that Rosado will always have access to a mount.
  10. Yep, forgot what video it was, but when you have it equipped your hit's value is displayed with the symbol for infinity. Believe regular Surge does this too
  11. It'll never happen but Nintendo....Please, greenlight another Custom Robo. I miss that series greatly
  12. Breath of the Wild is mostly just an overhyped hype-balloon and if it wasn't for the physics engine there would be nothing interesting about the game.
  13. I'm basing this list based of games I played for the first time this year, though will be counting any games that I got by September of 2021, as all of those games I don't grab until Christmas and tend to not get around to playing until the start of this year to begin with. Also I don't believe in using numbers for rating a game so I'll be using descriptors instead. Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes - Very disappointed Kirby and the Forgotten Land - It's okay, but has plenty of missed opportunities. God of War (2018) - Wait? People actually liked this? This is one of the few games I had to outright quit. Lost Judgement - Arguably RGG's best game since Yakuza 0, and definitely the best game I've played all year Mario Party Superstars - An amazing foundation that's completely ruined by its board selection and lack of updates
  14. 5 speed difference does seem to be the doubling threshold again, as a Sword Fighter that had 11 speed doubled 6 Speed Vander in that same video. Though since we know most weapons are unique this time around; I forget, have we ever seen the iron axe specifically double?
  15. I know we will have *at least* 12 on some maps. I forget which character video it was, but I believe it was Anna's where we had 12 units deployed Anyways, no plans on which emblem goes to who, but I will be employing every mage we get our hands on, along with Alear, Anna, Etie, and Rosado. So at the very least, my core team will comprise of Alear, Anna, Rosado, Etie, Clanne, Ivy, Hortensia, Citrine (has been shown off spellcasting in Eirika's video) and Celine
  16. The tweets fraudulent, tries to pass off generic enemy mage from the Somniel video as mage knight
  17. I also like how if you're fighting over water with flier units they make a splash. Wonder if something similar will happen when fighting over mountains or trees
  18. you just go to the options menu and disable the tutorial. Not that I've seen, whether its this forum, the SF discord, or the FE subreddit's discord. The only class change that isn't a standard promotion that I'm aware of is Etie going from Archer to Swordmaster....which definitely feels like reclass shenanigans
  19. This is only partially true; if you altered your settings in regards to the tutorial popups on Normal mode, you could 'unlock' pair up early
  20. This. It's why I'm glad that stat debuffs so far haven't been a thing outside of Corrin. The heavier weapon types (For physical the variants such as poleax's and blades and for magical the thunder tome) seem to be justifying their higher mt by not being allowed to double, crit, or both, and while I don't think we've seen the descriptions for the silver weapons yet, with the exception of the training Art weapon, no weapon has had a downside without some form of bonus to offset it
  21. I...didn't like Maddening mode, personally; felt too min-maxy when I did try it and from what I read if you don't use most of your weeks on the Monastary (which was my least liked aspect of the game) you'd fall behind very quickly, at least on fresh save files...which they also intended you to do since you got a special title screen for doing so. If they do add another difficulty via DLC (which I suspect to be part of the Wave 3 update due to how little has been told about wave 3) I hope that 1) the base game has 3 difficulty modes to begin with and that 2) the update's difficulty isn't such a massive leap from the difficulty right before it that it feels like jumping off a cliff
  22. Wasn't this also around how long the tutorial was in Awakening? I remember not being able to freely do pair up stuff until around that much progress was made, unless you altered your settings in regards to tutorials anyways
  23. So, I just went back and re-read the eshop page for the DLC and.....this is likely incorrect; DLC3 has *nothing* told about it, even wave 2 at least told us a general outline. I suspect DLC3 is likely to be very different from the other waves and as a result brings the number of Emblems we can get down. I'm revising my range of 4-7 Emblem Bracelets to being 4-5 instead EDIT: Actually nvm, I think I may have just misread....or for some reason the text in that section just wasn't being displayed for whatever reason. I do still think that the emblem will be lower though, as there seems to be a different focus for wave 3
  24. the eShop page just said to view an event on Somniel. No chapter was specified and I don't recall any characters were in the event cutscene for the 3H Bracelet weren't ones we'd be starting the game with, so it's likely available when we get access to Somniel EDIT: Furthermore, the 3H Bracelet gives you a 20% exp boost while equipped, this definitely feels like something they'd want you to start the game with
  25. Well, we've seen nothing in regards to stat debuffs on use. They're opting for disabling doubles or crits instead, and in the case of the heavy weapon archetype for physical weapons, they also throw in moving last even on initiate on top of this, as seen with the Steel Blade and I believe the Steel Poleax too, which could be a nice balancing mechanism if their MT is much higher compared to the standard weaponry. Lower tier weapons also have downsides too, such as the training Art losing out on the Brave effect
