Personally, I'd give that dishonor to Mirabilis and More though that's because I really don't like Mirabilis or Anna

That banner aged horribly as well, especially with all the times it could be voted before finally being put down. That said, aside of Mirabilis, I agreed with all the units chosen.

Yeah, and with a gen two banner maybe we could have gotten Exalt Lucina over this travesty.

    Agreed.

  3. As an Awakening fan, this got to be the worst banner they ever introduced of that game.

First of all, we already got one at the beginning of Book 6.

Female Grima again!? And do dragon really need an Arcane weapon right now?

No comment about Gregor or Ricken.

Phila... really? I mean I understand that Awakening is getting low on units, but surely Vaike or Kellam are more popular than her despite being males.

Eir wasn't surprising so no comment either.

But here's the thing that really piss me off. And don't get me wrong, it's 100% bias...

...But why it is that it's Gen 1 again!?

Like come on! Not even a single Gen 2? Severa? Inigo? Noire? Not even Laurent?

It's the third Awakening in a row about Gen 1! They couldn't at least have just one!?

Very bad banner, Eir and Grima won't be able to carry this banner for certain.

  4. I'm guessing their hair and eye colors is a result of being the secret child of the good dragon (blue) and the fell dragon (red).

Will it have a story impact? Maybe. It depends entirely on the writing. It isn't the first time it would happen since being a child of the bad dragon happened in both Awakening and Fates.

A protagonist being a combination of both is new however (if you don't count Lucina if her mother is Robin). It might have greater impact on the plot is the writers know how to use it.

I'm totally fine with Three Hopes characters being added to the game, but...we got Holst, Holst before we got base Felix or Dorothea. How does that happen? Hilda has, what, four versions now, and we still don't have base Felix? Hmm.

Because... maybe IS doesn't prioritize adding base versions of characters as much as people think? Only when they fill it's time for a new heroes banner of that particular game?

I mean don't get me wrong, you are far from the only one who made that comment before and it's not necessarily bad to think about it. But the issue I see is that people think that IS should focus on adding the "normal" version of each popular character is complete bullshit.

Perhaps for them, just adding the character --no matter in what ridiculous costume they are wearing-- when the time is right is enough to serve its purpose. Even when it causes dumb stupid moments in Forging Bonds like Felix in a Santa costume talking seriously to Dedue or more recently, Summer Noire during the Awakening children shenanigans with Brave Chrom.

IS does whatever the hell they want. If it means adding another Hilda because she's popular, screw it they will do it because they know she sells.

Oh and also, the fact there's still quite a few characters are still stuck in "alt purgatory", further prove my previous point.

  6. My biggest fear about the story is how generic and bland it might become. That's at least what I picked up from the trailer.

I can safely say we were spoiled with Three Houses, and perhaps it set the bar too high for the next installment.

I also fear it might turn into Fates 2.0. Good gameplay but with terrible story with a terrible main protagonist avatar that is the center of attention in almost every dialogue.

  7. I would say "any characters that aren't the main lord" but I think that ship has sailed already.

However I do wonder about healers. Are they going to be ringless? No main lord aside of Micaiah can use staff and I'm pretty sure she has Thani.

There's obviously going to be DLC Emblem Ring for sure, for the missing lords.

As for the villain rings, I can already guess each villain. It's either the evil sorcerer or the evil dragon or perhaps some oddballs (Kronya, Black Knight, Ashera)

Then replace "not the characters I wanted" with "not characters that I'd be satisfied with" and you get the same result.

Please don't put words in my mouth. Because again, it's not about characters I want, I just simply find the choice of characters boring and not interesting. Especially Mia and Illyana, they don't make sense from a lore perspective, they were simply chosen because they are women and popular.

1 hour ago, Ice Dragon said:

Blazing Sword Zephiel is a character that is canonically that age during the events of the game, which is exactly not what this banner theme is

Of course, but I wish they would expand on that concept a bit. Seeing younger heroes who aren't kids could be more lore interesting.

1 hour ago, Ice Dragon said:

No, they have their strength explicitly increased by Thorr. Merric is the most notable case, as he was supposed to be sickly when he was younger, and Thorr fixed that for him when he was summoned in that form.

    Nvm then.

  9. 39 minutes ago, Xenomata said:

    Is it though?

If they made an Echoes kids banner featuring Alm/Celica, Gray, Kliff, Tobin, and Faye, would they be able to make overpowered units out of those kids, who canonically needed protection just to live through a battle?
Regardless of what IS says the rules are, realistically they are kids. They are inexperienced, weaker and flimsier, and without the explanation of Thorr having any involvement they'd probably be wielding Bronze, Slim, or training weaponry at best.

I'm not really sure what is the point of that part because it's literally what I said.

Thórr's intervention is a lore explanation to explain how these younger versions of heroes can compete with grown adults in combat. That's basically it. They will continue to use that explanation for any of these "child banners" as necessary.

    44 minutes ago, Xenomata said:

Also worth mentioning is that these banners need the involvement of Loki/Thorr because the units cannot be allowed to remember the events of what transpired. If a Gawain/Titania/Oscar/Elena banner was made out of them trying to make the mercenaries work, they would be gathering inspiration from their new experiences to make the group work even better, which itself changes the course of history in at least one implied world.

The first thing I want to say is that I'm not even sure if Thorr or Loki ever erase anyone's memory if they involved them. I don't pay a lot of attention to those Paralogue dialogue anymore.

Also, I'm pretty sure any units that would return to their world, younger version or not, would affect the course of history in their world. I don't think that's a really a possible explanation.

    49 minutes ago, Xenomata said:

It ALSO doesn't make sense for all 4 units to have been even stronger than they are in the present, since remember they have to be overpowered as hell here.

Thorr's intervention is a lore explanation to elaborate on a gameplay feature. I'm pretty sure from a lore perspective, these kids are still at their normal strength. It's just IS saying: "This is how these kids acquired their broken weapons and skills you most certainly don't want to miss out on!"

    56 minutes ago, Xenomata said:

I'm not saying it needs to be limited to kids, there's certainly more than a few ways that "child banners" could go in the future, but I am saying that Thorr and Loki need to be involved.

Not necessarily. Again, their involvement is to explain how kids can even fight grown adults. Young Titania, Greil, Oscar and Elena are adults (or late teenager for Oscar?), with less battle experience yes, but their bodies are most suitable for combat. The goddess could still be involved by blessing them with weapons or skills, but I think that would just ruin the entire point of the banner.

From someone who is more interested in the story, I would like to see the earlier days of the Greil Mercenaries. Their struggles, how they managed to get by every day, etc. It's never really shown in the Tellius games, just mentioned by a few characters from time to time. Heroes as its limits, but it could work even if a FB for them would be better.

  10. 37 minutes ago, Ice Dragon said:

"Boring and uninspired" sounds a lot like an excuse to avoid saying that the characters on the banner were "not the characters I wanted".

I am not even the slightest interest in Tellius when it comes to its units so I would avoid making assumptions if I were you.

I just look at those units and all I see is just better versions of older units, there's nothing different aside of tome color changes. It's boring and uninspired in my opinion. If fans of those units are happy, good for them. Personally, I would be upset to have to waste orbs for a better and modern version of an unit I already own and invested a lot of skills into them.

37 minutes ago, Ice Dragon said:

I feel like Gawain would be better suited for an Ascended Hero (or otherwise on a regular banner) instead of being on this banner theme. The characters in this banner theme are given their power-creeping ability from Thorr, which wouldn't really make sense for either Gawain (who wouldn't need it) or a slightly younger Titania (who also wouldn't need it).

Gawain at the height of his strength is a fully canon character, unlike the units on these banners.

Thorr's intervention was just an excuse to explain how kids their age can even possibly compete with grown adults in combat. It's not a requirement for the banner, just a lore explanation of how it's even possible.

Christmas Zephiel happened and he isn't a kid. The Paralogue could just be that young Titania and Gawain got summoned from a time they were trying to make the Greil Mercenaries work at its earliest stage with Ike's mother and young Oscar. Saying 'oh we need Thorr' is false, IS makes the rules. They can decide to make it only a kid banner or not, that's their choice and only theirs.

  11. 9 hours ago, Xenomata said:

Is... everyone just going to be salty at this banner?

I am not, I just found it laughably boring and uninspired. It was cute two years ago, a bit less cool one year ago (at least kid L'arachel was different and kid Ignes was hype for most people) but now, it's really bad. Picnic would be way better, at least as a joke banner at least.

    9 hours ago, ZeManaphy said:

Ditto. Funny, you think people here would be happy that 3H, Fates, and Awakening are getting a break from representation but instead I find people complaining. Fandom and satisfaction can never cross it seems.

You are missing the point entirely. Those that don't like it like me aren't complaining about the game represented, we are complaining about the units of this banner being boring and uninspired, they are basically better, powercreep versions of their older versions. They just swapped some tome colors and that's it.

They could have gotten more creative of course. I think seeing a younger Titania or Greil with Ragnell before he crippled himself would be ten times more interesting than any of those kids.

  12. 36 minutes ago, Tybrosion said:

Except they didn't even do that part quite right, because Nephenee (who also has nothing to do with Greil Mercenaries pre-PoR) is way more popular than Ilyana (who now has more alts than Nephenee with this one).

That's beside the point tbh. Yes perhaps Nephenee is more popular, but Ilyana is far from a gamble. Young Titania would be one.

    36 minutes ago, Tybrosion said:

They didn't do that because neither Oscar or Rolf are popular in the slightest, unlike Palla or Catria and Est just leeches off her older sisters.

Fair point, but I still found it boring to have poor Boyd as the free axe infantry again.

    36 minutes ago, Tybrosion said:

To be fair, we got to briefly hear kid Ike's voice in a certain secret cutscene in Radiant Dawn and he also sounded nothing like a kid there too.

That doesn't justify it... at all. At the time, this game had way lower budget than Heroes so they probably had to do with what they got. As the best selling gacha game of Nintendo, hiring someone else to do a kid's voice isn't too difficult if Greg Chun can't do it.

Although in my opinion, he SHOULD do it. Like honestly, I like the guy, but his range as a voice actor is kinda pathetic.

Honestly, their selection for special banners as a whole of late have become less and less inspired.

I mean, that Awakening Valentine banner? Literally just Awakening's top popular characters and call it a day. No effort at all.

Bunnies have gotten old, that's for sure.

I can't deny it either. Even if the fans had been starved for a while, they didn't take a lot of risk with that one either when it comes to the choice of characters. Except for normal male Robin, his fans have been crying for his return.

But hey, at least they had better weapon and class diversity than those kids.

  13. What a snooze fest of a banner. The first child banner was cute for the 20th anniversary, but now it's just boring powercreep children versions of popular characters. They didn't even try to take a risk, they just took the most popular characters and called it a day. They didn't even try a duo of Teenager Oscar with Young Boyd and baby Rolf in his arm like "Duo" Palla.

I didn't even bother reading their weapon description, I just imagine they are better version of their older version with fancy new effects added there and there.

Also another free male axe infantry, yay...

Also Greg Chun, come on man. I like your calm and soothing voice, but that doesn't even sound CLOSELY to a child of that age.

Anyone care to explain their thought process to me, or is it nothing more than just a "Feh Pass bad" sentiment?

Sure, I will clarify my thought process.

While I am a F2P player, I understand the idea of FEH pass. I know it's a gacha game and they have to get money somehow. For this reason, I accepted it at first.

All the rewards for buying FEH pass were nice, but nothing game breaking:

    •  Quality of life features? Sure it sucks to have them exclusive to those that have the pass, but it only affects the maps vs the AI of the buyer.
    • Resplendent units? The stats boost is nice, but unless you have +10 this specific unit and if this unit is even good, it won't matter too much compare to some of the newer units.
    • Extra Summoner Support slots? Again, it's a stats boost to a specific unit. It might matter, it might not. It also doesn't affect for things like a defense team or arena.
    • Extra resources? Most of them don't have any impacts. The only things I could think off is the extra orbs and perhaps the extra dragonflowers. Plus for the orbs, they don't guarantee you will anything out of them. You are still dependent on luck.

With that in mind, why is one "free" hero so bad? It's just one hero, right? Well yes, except this hero could be a powerful hero, exclusive to legendary and mythic banner. I know that it has been a few months, but I need to remind you all it took was just one copy of Fallen Edelgard for her to completely break the game for a few months. Oh sure, now we have many (5 stars only) counters to her. At least, anyone could have their own Fallen Edelgard if they just sparked to counter her with your own. So what would happen if not everyone could spark? Well, I could tell you it would be a big advantage for the non-F2P players who rely on luck or spend hundred of orbs, ruining months of saving for a single copy... IF they get it that is.

Also, it could be another supportive Legendary or Mythic Hero like Legendary Azura but worse, who you really only one copy to make it work.

The banner this mechanic is introduced is bad because the new hero is basically copy pasted from a previous one except in a different tome colour. Wait one month or two or three and you will see how bad this change is for the game. You've seen already how IS can ruin the game with the introduction of a Legendary Hero or Mythic Hero (Legendary Sigurd, Nott, etc) who don't need merges that badly or even seasonal units with powerful weapons like Bridal Catria who again, doesn't need merges because she's a support unit.

    This was my thought process.

Came here to ask if anyone else was getting Support Code 803-3001, relieved I'm not the only one. Seems like it's a temporary server error due to it being overloaded.

It's not just Feh, it's all Nintendo Mobile games I think.

Edit: It seems it's an issue with Android users only
