[Mods, delete this thread, please]
AsherCrane replied to Stedar's topic in Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia
I feel like that would be the easiest route? Just make rare and legendary items unbrrakable, and make bronze, iron, etc. breakable. -

Pretty sure I recall the fact that people kept on never using rare and legendary weapons was one of main reasons they removed it for fates. -
I would love if the other amiibo unlocked characters in the game. Just the characters themselves. The fact that you could get the classes and the weapons in Fates made the Amiibo themselves seem a lot less unique, especially since they had no supports or anything. Trade the weapons and classes for just getting the amiibo characters with supports, and it'd be the idea thing to me.

Gaiden was also the first game to feature unbreakable weapons, just so you aren't expecting weapons to break again. -
Split Promotions and Difficulties
AsherCrane replied to Leif's topic in Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia
They did say with a twist, so I at least expect similar game modes? Otherwise I expect they risk none of the new players liking it. -
My train of through is rapidly becoming just: Buy it in the hopes that Fe6, 7, and 8 will be made, and hope the story is decent enough for me to be able to finish it. If supports are confirmed out, I may revise that idea, though. If that's out, the probability that this is popular enough for future remakes drops SEVERELY.

Kliff appreciation thread
AsherCrane replied to KliffIsTheOG's topic in Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia
Watch as they read this thread, add supports, and make Robin have the best backstory and deepest character, while Kliff is completely flat. -

What are you most excited to see in SoV?
AsherCrane replied to CWGameplay's topic in Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia
I'm personally really interested in the replacement to tomes, however they end up working. Boey using that lightning without a tome looked awesome! -
Oh, yeah, I'm not saying the stuff in the trailer won't be in the final product, I'm just saying that since it looked like it was designed more toward showing the similarities, they may have intentionally avoided showing things that have been changed. The stuff in the trailer seemed more designed to show what wasn't changed rather than what was. Although like you said, it does still tell us some things.

In all honesty, the trailer we've seen seemed like it was specifically geared toward showing thing that are specifically like Gaiden, down to specifically using all the same classes and such that the original gaiden did. Since it looked like that, I don't think it'd be fair to judge solely on a trailer designed to show similarities. It's like watching a reboot and thinking it's instantly going to have all the subjective flaws of the original.

I at least feel like they may rename the hero class for Alm, since it may confuse people.

Definitely looks like it's a thief.

Rings and Shields?
AsherCrane replied to Corrobin's topic in Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia
Watching the trailer again, Sabre is wearing a shield when he counters the bowman. So, either Shields at least are in, or every Mercenary wears one. Edit: Which, unless his map sprite in the dungeon is off, it doesn't look like the latter is true. -
I mean, I suppose they technically have axes, since most lance users in the gameplay footage seem to use poleaxes.

It looks like Mila and Duma are dragons
AsherCrane replied to Salamud's topic in Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia
I figured that was Mila immediately, honestly. -
FE Shadows of Valentia and AXES
AsherCrane replied to Koumal8's topic in Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia
To be honest, a good amount of the reason I play these games is that I like seeing how all the different classes and weapons look, axes included. They could have split promotions that have the same exact stats and I could probably be petty happy. I just want more variety than the original Gaiden seemed to have, and part of the reason gaiden probably didn't have it was just because of lack of memory space. -
Magic (Original Gaiden or Modern Tomes?)
AsherCrane replied to Corrobin's topic in Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia
Honestly, whether or not it's HP or MP based, the look of mages casting without tomes looks awesome. -
Magic (Original Gaiden or Modern Tomes?)
AsherCrane replied to Corrobin's topic in Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia
Oh, yeah, I'm not saying it definitely will (assuming they leave Celica mostly tbe same, Robin would probably be redundant anyway), I just wonder how Robin might work if the Hp spells are implimented, and Amiibos work the same. -
Magic (Original Gaiden or Modern Tomes?)
AsherCrane replied to Corrobin's topic in Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia
I think I recall somewhere saying there's amiibo support. So if it works the same as Fates, how would Robin work? Would he be the only tome user? Or would Thoron just be a unique spell he learns. -
Will Echoes have a weapon triangle?
AsherCrane replied to Kil0's topic in Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia
You seem to have expected absolutely every gameplay from Gaiden to return... what exactly did you think the twist was? -
The new artstyle
AsherCrane replied to Vicious Sal's topic in Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia
According to a book called the Bansenshukai, Female Ninja also worked by finding legitimate positions in an enemy's household in order to overhear enemy conversations to gain intel. In that situation, seduction could be fairly valuable. This is slightly heresay though, because the only proof I could find was someone saying they'd found it in there. I'm not finding it myself, the thing is 10 volumes long.
