  1. Then again, Kamui's hair is only white by default, and you can make it any color. So, pretty much no matter what, it won't be 100% logical. Also, anime hair logic.
  2. I think that even if there is an issue with that, then it'll be more fun. Also, Nohr side might have slightly more powerful characters to begin with, since there wouldn't be grinding. Also, they said the Nohr side was good for people familiar with fire emblem. Since you are on this forum at all, you should be fine. :)
  3. I never intended for this thread to become like this... i swear. XD
  4. I think this is going to be the story of the game. It is about Kamui, a person from vague lineage, who chooses to reach for the light. He/she chooses not to be evil, no matter their past, and they choose to ensure the existence of a tomorrow for those they care about. Kamui uses the Yatogami, and his/her purity to slash the bonds that hold everyone back. He cuts people's ties to their nations, because what matters is family. what matters is getting along, but Kamui can only make everyone realize by becoming close with them, and listening to their hopes and dreams. Kamui's goal is to show everyone that they have no reason to obey a tyrant, and they should be free. Kamui is the one man sunrise, and he/she is going to extinguish the darkness that Garon thrives on. Basically, even though Kamui is a dark prince/princess, even though under all circumstances, they should be corrupted as well, Kamui is not. It is the soft light in Kamui's soul that guides them to choose the right path. That's what it's all about, right? Choices. Whatever you choose will greatly affect the game right? because our choices affect our lives. Kamui can go with Hoshido, or Nohr, or neither at all, but their life purpose is always the same. Kamui exists to chase the darkness away, and bring prosperity. And whatever happens, whoever Kamui is with, whoever Kamui loves, or despises does not matter. In a way, the song and game are about our own lives. We can make whatever choices we want, who our friends are, who our family is, where we live, what job we have, but the main story of our life will be the same. It is black and white, just like the kingdoms. will we and Kamui choose to be evil, or triumph over it and help everyone else triumph as well? I think everyone already knows the answer. The song is significant. It foreshadows and lays out the entire plot of the game. :)
  5. A duo infiltrating a stronghold all stealth-like sound new. that would be awesome. :)
  6. That makes sense. But if half of them leave, i would first play through the first six chapters, learn which leave, and then restart and train just who i need. XD is that cheating?
  7. She IS royalty though, so all the accessories make sense. aside from the odd armor design, it is not very special. i am literally making Kamui armor, and it is very difficult to replicate, even for an semi-experienced costume maker.
  8. I have an entire explanation about what i think that walk was in a thread where i guess character personalities. You and i are on the same page.
  9. It's a weapon triangle: Female Kamui's thigh holes beat Male Kamui's turtleneck, Camilla's ridiculous bust beats the thigh holes, and the turtleneck- wait, no, the turtleneck doesn't beat anything...
  10. I agree, a better death quote would be: "Haha, You won, but only because I raised you... I MADE you what you are... And you have become the so-called 'evil' you claim to be fighting... (Maniacal laughter ensues as he starts to fade from consciousness.)"
  11. Let me know if there is already a thread for this(I couldn't find one), but there are many amusing quotes from Awakening, my personal favorite being a Nowi line. Here it is: (When in a shop, and selling items, choose Nowi, and on the bottom screen, she will complain.)"Nowi's stuff, hands off!" Another funny shop quote is Chrom's: "Robin(or avatar's name)... are we strapped for funds?" Gaius said this one time when gaining experience points from an event tile: "I don't care what they might say, stealing candy from a baby isn't as easy as it sounds." those just stuck with me, but what are the most amusing lines you found in supports, chapters, or anything else?
  12. You are not missing much of anything, the main reason for this is because Eirika and Ephraim are naive. The story is about them having to grow up, because they have been sheltered all their life. They basically couldn't accept truth because they were too idealistic... It is sad, and because of their immaturity, people died. It is an important story, but very- well, tragic.
  13. I find the lack of Saizou votes disturbing... He is a ninja! And poor Ganz... it's because of his bald head isn't it? or is it his skin? Sheesh, you people are shallow. He just wants to murder you! Come on! (Obvious sarcasm is obvious) Also, it comes as no surprise that Camilla takes the cake. Honestly, Nohr over all seems to win this. the nation's slogan should be: "Join Nohr, our name is short and simple... (By the way, we have awesome outfits, hot guys, loli girls, and women with huge racks... Did we mention all the attractive people? In case we didn't, let's make this clear: Nohr has lots of hot people. Join the dark side~)" Hoshido just can't compete with that advertising... XD
  14. I totally understand, and I don't think you are really bickering. I wouldn't expect it, but it would be nice. Maybe some years from now, things will change. The gender specific classes are really not necessary though, and i suppose them getting rid of that is the best we can hope for right now. I mean, why wouldn't a man want to ride a FLYING HORSE? XD That's awesome. I can only hope that at least in the world of video games, things can change... :/
  15. Oh, i don't mean Marx is a better person, and I don't blame Ryouma either. I personally prefer someone who trusts me is all. I think they are both good guys, though.
  16. I just realized that the plot concept reminds me a bit of Code Geass. Especially with the European inspired nation oppressing the Japanese inspired nation... XD Kamui's situation is almost like a cross between Lelouch and Suzaku. :) What does the game remind you of?
  17. Maybe they are moody(XD), I think the serious nature comes from Kamui's tragic life story.
  18. Hmm, I just had a thought. Perhaps he cares about his family, but because he knows Kamui is not his child, he treats them poorly. That would make for an interesting dramatic dynamic.
  19. Not only do i think Fire emblem should not have gender specific classes, it should also allow homosexual relationships between characters in addition to heterosexual relationships. I think that it could become a trademark of Fire Emblem. Being open and accepting of all cultures. It would also support(hehe, SUPPORT, get it?) the theme of FEIF. If the game is really about big moral questions, and the different kinds of family, this should be a thing. Look, if Lucina can marry her brother or her cousin, we should be able to have guys marry other guys and girls marry other girls. (If this happened, I am pairing Sakura with Kazehana.)
  20. In Fire Emblem If, we will have to choose an adventure. Now, this question is specifically asking: "Who would you side with?" NOT: "Who is morally in the right?" This is what I mean: Choosing Nohr would not be choosing evil, you are choosing the dangerous mission of turning your friends against their evil leader, Garon. This will be more challenging, and you would never know who might stab you in the back. Nohr's leadership is obviously in the wrong. The way i look at it, Garon is the real villain, not your surrogate family that loves and cares about you. This choice is less about good over evil and more about which people don't deserve to be betrayed. Personally, i am most looking forward to the third path that doesn't make you pick a side. But, i think blood is not as strong as bond. Choosing Hoshido would be honorable, in the context of the war over-all. At the same time, i don't want to give up on the people being manipulated by evil. I would choose to save them, and use their strength to help me overthrow the king of darkness. What do you think? This is most assuredly the most important decision in the game, since it sets you down a path very different from the other. Who will you choose? Are you influenced by logic or emotion? Are you bound by Blood... or Loyalty? Neither choice is wrong... but we have to choose.
  21. I like everyone's ideas. I think the main thing that we all want is better, more fully-developed characters. And hopefully, there will be unique ones as well. As long as they make the character's personality make sense, i will be satisfied. (Also, for any confusion about the hand/body language thing: In ancient European culture, it would be respectful to extend your right arm, as it is your weapon hand. In ancient Asian culture, we cannot pull from traditional greeting customs, as that would be bowing. But i do know that Ryouma is not letting his guard down even for his own brother, which in a subtle way, makes me like Marx better as a person.)
  22. So, based on the reactions and attitudes of the characters, here is an analysis of their personalities. (These are only guesses.) Kamui(Avatar): Kamui, both male and female versions seem serious, and haunted by their past. there is evidence of a tragic story, since in the trailer, a character that could potentially be Kamui's dad is killed by Nohrians in a Nohrian city. Garon *Cough* evil bastard *cough* then looks and reaches toward the camera, an effect used in awakening when people interacted with robin in cutscenes. He basically tells Kamui that he'll let them live and they will learn... I have a feeling that Kamui still remembers the day they were taken by Garon. Garon: He is generic. Sorry, but it looks that way. Luckily, blatantly evil characters make the best villains... I certainly won't feel bad about taking Garon down... He is definitely the antagonist, and i get the feeling that he forces Aqua(the dancer girl with blue hair) to perform for his amusement. He is obviously what drives Nohr to attack their neighbors, as i do not get the vibe from any of the characters that i get from Garon.(Ganz being an exception) Aqua: She is the dancing girl, and definitely shy. While she sings to herself, sadly wishing for a better world, her dancing probably brings her no pleasure. She most likely associates her art form with the unfavorable Garon, since he is the one who makes her do it in the first place. She is most definitely a character that is intended to make us all feel like a hero... since she is such a grim soul almost in need of "saving". Ganz: I mentioned him before, and while he is evil, i don't think he is motivated by glory, as Garon is. Ganz obviously is an important character for the villains, but he chose not to wear elaborate clothing... or even take care of his skin. It almost seems to me as though he is on the verge of death, and is motivated to simply drag anyone else he can with him to the grave. Ryouma: He seems quiet and serious. Definitely focused on being a warrior first, and a human being second. Don't get me wrong, he seems like a very good man, but when Kamui is going to choose a side, he only extends the left hand. As a martial artist myself, i know that this means he is focused, and not letting his guard down. He doesn't even say anything if you choose Nohr, instead, he decides to attack his own flesh and blood. Again, he isn't a bad guy, but perhaps too serious for his own good... Marx: He is serious, but very different from Ryouma, in that he will let his guard down. Marx had passed his lance to his off hand, and extended his right arm to Kamui. He definitely feels a close bond to the main character that Ryouma just does not have(because he didn't grow up with Kamui), and leans forward, almost more desperate to keep his surrogate brother. He is loyal to a fault it seems, especially because he views Kamui choosing blood over bond as a betrayal. He is most likely the hardest person to turn against Garon in the Nohr story. Hinoka: Umm... she's a pegasus night? honestly, she seems to be such a tom-boy that having her ride a magical horse is a little amusing to me. She is probably hot-headed, and doesn't understand humor. Sakura: Yay! another pink-haired girl named Sakura to hate!(just kidding) Unfortunately, she is kinda depressing to me. she is the kind of girl who constantly needs cheering up. She definitely expects the worst, since before Kamui even chooses, she looks like someone just kicked a kitten(And i love kittens). Tsubaki: He is boring to me. Is that mean? he just seems like another soldier... of course, we haven't seen much. I can't guess too much, but maybe you have an idea. Camilla: Many people seem to think she is a sly, almost seductive character in the game. that would be wrong, and here is why. She is one of the most caring characters in the game, aside from her twin-tailed little sister(just assuming). She is very concerned with the well-being of Kamui, as we have seen so far. She looks like she is pleading just as much as little miss "Onii-chan"(twin-tails) when Kamui is choosing sides. Also, the first words we hear her say to Kamui are: "Are you alright?" she is not some evil seductress, you make her one. Let me explain. The clip of her walking toward the camera is probably her walking toward Kamui. I think that she takes the almost mocking pose and expression because that clip is before you fight her after choosing Hoshido. She probably undergoes huge personality changes after Kamui chooses the other side. How would you feel if your family chose your "enemy" over you? Twin-tailed sister character: Generic loli-con character. Unfortunately, it is true from what we know. She will be both annoying and amusing, irritating and... well, just irritating. gosh, it's hard to guess her hopes and dreams, wait, it is probably something like: "When I grow up, i want to marry my Onii-chan!" I'm going to go throw up now. Sorry if you like her, just not my thing. Dark knight blonde Nohrian brother mage-thing guy: I want this guy's name. he looks awesome. I am leveling him up all the way. I think he'll be apathetic, sociopathic, and sadistic. what a different character! I love it, plus he is probably like a little brother type character. He looks like a one-hit killer. when charging up a magic attack, rocks fly everywhere... and the dude is obviously not trying at all. enough said. Kazehana: she is a confident myrmidon. I get the feeling of Sumia(Awakening) crossed with Joshua(sacred stones), and that sounds interesting... She might not be the best, but she knows that if she doesn't try, she never will be. Raizou: the only reason i have him here is because he is a ninja. I love ninjas, you love ninjas, everybody loves ninjas. So, this guy should be similar to the legendary Hanzo Hisashi from the Sengoku period. This man is the main reason to play through Hoshido for me. I am not listing characters that have pretty much nothing to go on. Let's hope for more news in the future. what do you think? agree? disagree? tell me why. :)
