  1. Today I started on Lunatic+. Everything is terrible and millions are being killed by flying dice. ...well okay, it's not that bad, but it's pretty close. I've made it through Ch 2, and threw an otherwise-winning run of Ch 3 by leaving a gap for Miriel to get axed (entirely preventable, he didn't even have Pass). Going with a +Mag -Luck Avatar because I don't think I've ever actually used a +Mag Avatar yet. Once I get to Ch 4, I'm going to spend some time with an appropriate Spotpass unit grinding out Paragon and Dread Fighter scrolls. Probably some other things too. I'm not taking this run seriously at all; nogrind Luna+ will come when I'm feeling slightly more masochistic :P
  2. I beat Lunatic. I ended up using mostly just Avatar/Chrom, Laurent/Morgan, and Kjelle/Lucina for the final few maps. Rushing Ch 25 was a bit difficult until I remembered "you have the Boots dummy" and slapped them on Avatar and charged headlong to Aversa. Grima was taken down by rushing forward with Brave Axe induced Dual Strikes, a quick Dance, and some chip from Kjelle+Lucina DS. All in all? Difficult, without a doubt. I don't think it'll be my "main" difficulty, at least not for a long time. But it was enjoyable, and the sight of seeing a few units surpass all others and ascend to godhood was great. ...oh, right, and now Lunatic+ is unlocked too. I guess I'll get to that... sometime?? Maybe?? One day when I feel masochistic enough.
  3. I wonder if there will be any in-story justification for Phoenix Mode. With Casual mode it was a simple "oh no i have been stabbed I must retreat", which is fair enough. I predict something along the lines of "Dang, I'm dead. Wait hold up, lemme have a chit-chat with *insert deity here*, I'll be back in like a turn". Extra save slots is an absolute blessing and I don't particularly care about weapon durability being gone. Though I'm definitely curious how weapon availabilty is going to be handled in that case...
  4. Made it to Ch 23. At this point I'm basically just running Chrom, Avatar, Laurent, and Kjelle with their support partners. I may even drop Chrom/Avatars partners to just have the two finally hit that A support and i dunno, smack Grima with Brave Axe-induced dual strikes. I didn't realize the Thief stole the Seraph Robe and not the Boots in Ch 17, so i just hung out in the leftmost corridor and turned it into a nice opportunity for Laurent to gain levels. At this point in time, I think I could solo the game with just Vantage + Nosferatu if it came down to it (...at least up to Grima). My only regret is not giving him a parent with Armsthrift access, but I'm not exactly hurting for gold (Despoil helps out a bit). So close to the end, I can taste it...
  5. I've been chugging through Lunatic after poor EXP management caused me to hit a brick wall at Ch 17 (read; poor use of Frederick). I've beaten Ch 12 and am sitting on two Second Seals and was wondering which would be smarter to promote now rather than later. Chrom, Olivia, and Avatar are pretty well set so far (+Str -Skl Male Avatar married to Sumia who is just for pair-up bonuses and flight, Cavalier!Chrom to Olivia who I danced up to Lv 30 in her join chapter and SS'd to Dark Flier). My other pairs are Stahl+Miriel and Sully+Vaike, all still in their base classes but at or close to Lv 20. One of my minor goals is to pass Wrath to Kjelle and one of the Troubadour/Valkyrie skills to Laurent. I guess Dual Support+, but who can forget the mighty Demoiselle or the absolutely broken Res+2? (Also passing Wrath to Cynthia and Morgan, but Avatar already has it as a comfortably leveled Berserker). Jokes aside, the real question is would it be better to SS Vaike to Barbarian and then to Berserker -> Hero down the line (which is similar to what I'm doing with Avatar), or would he more appreciate the immediate boost from going straight to Hero and then going to Berserker later? In which case, I'd have a spare Second Seal to use on either Stahl or Sully (or Miriel, if I Rescue/Heal staff grind her next chapter and decided Demoiselle was good enough and I wanted her to go Dark Mage/Sorc long term)... but I'm not entirely sure if they would appreciate the promotion boosts more than a reclass, or even which of Paladin/GK is the better option for supporting/actual combat in this case. ...but man, I gotta say, once I got past the early chapters where everyone is terrible, I think Lunatic actually gets pretty interesting and fun!

    Ah!

Hey guys, I'm Finalinsanity, I play video games and well, that doesn't really make me much different from anyone else here does it? I started my venture into Fire Emblem with Awakening, and have currently completed that, FE7, and Binding Blade, working my way somewhat slowly through Shadow Dragon (though I may take a break to give Genealogy or Sacred Stones a go). I'm not very consistent with my posting; you may see me around a lot one day, and then disappear for a period of time. Because I'm mysterious and lead a very important life. I swear! ...okay, maybe that last part is a lie, but the inconsistency part is very, very true. So how's your day been everybody?
  7. There is a big difference between "I sure wish more people would try Classic mode. They might enjoy it!" and "casual scrubs can't handle Classic mode what a bunch of cowards :]", as an example.
