  1. "O-oh, of course! Sorry, wasn't trying to rush." Miria laughed off her worry as Amera brought up also wanting to look at Kise's shop. She nodded at Seila's reply to her question, and decided to let the new crew shop. Miria herself was saving her funds for the future, but it didn't hurt to window shop from a distance. She gave a clap as Kise wrapped up her sales-pitch. It reminded her of home a bit, and her many times she was able to make solid deals with traveling traders. Then some new faces came in as well, one in particular getting particularly interested in the fact they going after Kazran. Jesse started a reply, but Miria walked up, and followed up with the other woman. "We're on our way to soon. I--" She paused for a moment. "I can take you to our boss who's discussing things with the Gaffneys, last I saw. But, what're you trying to know?"
  2. The last enemy had gone down. Markus eased his hands off the controls and sat there. That happened, there was real combat today. His fingers felt... numb. Whether that was his holding the controls too hard, or the thought he was on his way to Death's door... "Deep breaths... Deep breaths Markus, come on. You knew we'd be here by now." He took a moment to collect himself. Viewing the scraps across the field. There's no way this is everyone, right? "Captain." Markus called the bridge over comms, "Requesting permission to scout the nearby perimeter." That fear wasn't gonna take him yet.
  3. "Y-Yes, of course..." The girl responded as she was pulled in by the dancer. They had shown Taka what a pancake was, and it was wonderful. "It'd be awful to forget someone's name after they taught me about breakfast." She nodded, her expressionless stare still there. Taka stared and watched as Lindt told his story. One of the mysterious brutal desert and the city that resided in it. She had heard something about it from the Princess before, but it wasn’t something she paid attention to; it wasn't her job. And now she listened intently, as he then revealed his black hand. She looked at it and her ears perked as he brought up the Marked. "Where you stand?" She looked to Luce.
  4. Miria walked along as they started making their way into town, her smile as bright as normal. She kept close to the rest of the group, occasionally laughed along with their teasing. She waved off Jesse as she went to see Kise, "Don't be too long Jess!" She called out, before they made their way outside. Miria took a deep breath, and exhaled. As she gazed out at the city, a thought came out, "Y'know, I grew up in a small trade town. I don't know if I'll ever get tired of seeing nice cities." She spoke, not really directed at anyone. She turned to the group of the new mercs they've adventured with, "How long have you all been working together?" That ought've been a solid conversation starter.
  5. Markus assessed his damage after his short time on the boat. "Minimal damage, do I wait? Ahhh, shit." The most worrying part now. He could wait until he was fully ready to go, or redeploy now. He felt the shaking in his hands now that he's had a minute to collect himself. "C'mon Markus. It's not like you to be so rattled... breathe. Think about... anything else. We owe Viv the salty runback, we got the confidence to talk to Miz. Breathe." He took a few deep breaths. "It won't be over until I help finish it." And that's what steeled him. Nerves calmed to as best as possible, he relaunched back into the fight. Markus to 18,19, cast Focus, and fire on Arde 2-S with the Autorifle
  6. Miria had a big, warm smile, watching all the shenanigans occur. The Tigers weren't much different from this small band of mercenaries. Aside from the size, really, that was about it. And when they agreed to have a day out in the town, the cub couldn't help but clap her hands together in excitement. The last few times she'd been out, it was only with a handful of people, or only her and someone else. Today was gonna be a whole gaggle of people. She was ready to be lost in excitement and fun, she really needed it after the past few nights. "Well um, would anyone like to lead the way? I'm uh... not sure where to start. I'd say food, but, I always say food." She gave a small laugh. "Any fun ideas in mind from anyone?"
  7. The unfortunately awkward ninja shuffled a bit under her cloak. This wasn't her forte, and she was struggling, but relief came in a way she hadn't expected. It was the performer, who had helped her with breakfast. They were good pancakes... Maybe they would be able to save her again. She turned to look at Luce, her face still plain as she stared at the dancer, her ears perking slightly. "Luce, if I remember correctly? Hello, you're not interrupting, in fact... I need some assistance once more." And then turned back to Lindt. "This is sir Lindt, we helped him yesterday. He has asked for a bit of story sharing, and I, am not well versed in storytelling. I was hoping you could provide some assistance." No shame in asking for help. It simply wasn't her skill. "If that is alright with sir Lindt, I mean." She shook her head, Luce asked other things. "I hadn't actually gone to see the festival yet. In fact, I waited for one of you to arrive to... see, how you festival."
  8. "Shit..." Markus assessed the situation of the battle. Things were looking about ready to wrap up on the northern end. The south though... "Team," He got onto comms, "I'm gonna fire on one of their guys and retreat to the Dawn for repairs. You guys got this. Sorry..." He grit his teeth, as he loaded up, and prepared to fire. He's gotta move to help Louise down south. Markus Revolver Cannons Lancer 4-A, H&A to 22,23, docking with the Dawn
  9. They seem to be getting along quite nicely. Miria was glad for that, she enjoyed the company of these-- And like a bullet Amera ran off to go meet Lani. She gave a laugh as she ran off. "Reminds me of me." She turned back to the others there, giving a soft pat to Jesse's shoulder. "I do hope we get along well. And yeah, like Jesse asked, any plans? I don't know my way around the city." An offer to hang out surely wasn't too much? Gotta get to know your allies.
  10. Taka tilted her head as the man spoke. Is a ninja so surprising to people outside of Akatsuki? The girl never thought much of her duty. She was born to dedicate her life to this specific job, whoever could use her service. And the things it took... The ninja's head straightened, continuing to listen as the man spoke. A hand finally escaped from her cloak as she moved some hair from her face, and scratched her head. Lindt was offering her a story as well. When thinking about it, Taka considered it like how she used to listen to Yukari talk, even if she didn't know what to respond with. Her arm retracted back into her cloak, and she nodded. "Of course. I'd... like that." She tried to answer.
  11. Markus Shotguns Tank A-4, H&A to 21,26
  12. "Yeah, it's been a fun ride." She gave a laugh at Jesse's remark. It really never mattered to Miria who was what, so the whole deal of the Tigers being human and clouded working together never really passed her mind. "And... Seila, Amera, Ember. I'll remember those." After being told to loosen up, her smile grew bigger, happy that it seemed like they could all get along. "Oh, I'm from Kansei too!" She replied, "I... I think I left before stuff got bad for Clouded, though. I guess... or I never noticed to, to be honest. My papa's a clouded, so I never really... cared, I guess? New friends are new friends. It's great to meet all of you~" Some fellow Kanseians were a nice welcome to Miria. Maybe they were actually around some point and she never noticed? "Were you guys ever around in Morano? My parents own a shop out there."
  13. Taka was silent as she listened to the man speak. He wanted to kill some time with conversation. Something that could almost considered the ninja's weakest point. Her face never faltered, but she thought as best she could. She sighed, and nodded. "I will... share what I'm allowed, to the best of my ability. I cannot promise much, though." She answered honestly. "I am a ninja from Akatsuki. I'm mainly here due to my charge's request. She thinks that a traveling group would... help." She waved her hand around her face. "I apologize again, I am... one would call boring."
  14. "Agh...!" Markus' shot made it, but he was also hit as a result. "Goddammit, why am I off my game?!" He was almost amidst panic, but he took a breath. He needed to focus. "I gotta fix this. I'm supposed to be better." And he planned to. He owed someone a date after all. And reinforcements were arriving. He needed to get himself together. Markus switches to the Revolver Cannon, fires at Tank A2, H&A to 22,24
  15. Nighttime Musings Endless Night Miria watched as people went along their ways, dispersing. She looked around, giving a sigh. Even if she was coerced into going to bed, she was still pretty tired from being up so late. She scratched her head, Well, there's the trio there. It wouldn't hurt to say hello and get acquainted with their new companions. The cub took a deep breath, "Come on, it's fine doofus." She went over to the trio, a little sheepishly. Going immediately into hyper mode may scare away one of them. "Hello." She started with a warm smile and a small bow. "My name's Miria. It'll... be a pleasure working with y'all~"
  16. Markus was almost in the clear as he took the brunt of attacks. One unfortunate hit, but he'd live, thankfully. It wasn't too bad. Then came a new person, apparently in an older gen HEX spraying some nanofoam to keep his own HEX fighting. His face reddened a bit at his callsign. He had forgotten that's what he called himself. He kept a cool head, as he replied, "Appreciate it, Nurse Heartsign." A small joke was fine in battle as long as he could keep his head in the game. "Alright, time for a little payback." Markus Autorifles Lancer A-3, H&A to 21,21
  17. Taka turned to the voice as the person approached her. Unfortunately for him, the ninja carried the same blank look she gave everyone, though, she was listening. One of her eyes gave a raise, as she pondered a moment. Surely someone else was better capable of accepting this offer of repayment than she was. She didn't need rewards. Her job was all she needed. She tried though, standing up, giving a small bow. "I go by Taka. I apologize, I may not be... the most qualified for doing something for you, but I will help the best I can." When she returned up straight, her face continued to remain blank. She gave a light nod.
  18. Markus to 18,18, equip the 90mm Autorifle
  19. Miria was enamored by Esclas. It was pretty, much like a lot of the big cities she had seen in these travels. She didn't expect herself to want to explore after the last couple days. Maybe that was on the table. They were important things now, though. The Tigers had an important contact to meet, for their actual mission, now that it was back on. The cub stood behind the main people addressing Owen Gaffney. There was no need for her in that department. If things worked out as planned, then that's when she was most important. She did notice the cat lady wave at the group and retreat, but Miria gave her welcome smile and waved back. Hopefully, if this worked, they were more friends Miria could make.
  20. Taka's morning was quick. The previous evening wasn't anything more stressful than Taka had done previously, thus she slept as soundly as she could. When she awoke, she was quick to suit up, and equipped herself with a cloak; worn to keep her weapons and equipment hidden. Protection for her charges; nothing more. She stretched herself out, trying to get herself in top shape for the morning. There was supposed to be a festival this day, Taka would observe, but wasn't gonna be sure she could enjoy it. "Mmm..." She stared out the window briefly. The people gathering meant it was something to be excited for. The ninja wouldn't be. At least, now she wouldn't. The girl left her room, preparing to head out herself, but she thought to herself, Princess Yukari said to acquaint with people. "Hmm," as she walked out the door of their inn, she found a nearby bench. She'd wait for the next of her party to leave. That way, she could acquaint. And protect them should something go wrong.
  21. Markus grit his teeth and sighed as he was able to dodge the tank shell. He thanked his lucky stars he wasn't hit by one of those. "Gotta be extra careful now..." Every move he made, every shot, he thought he was better prepared for all this. He did everything in his power to push those thoughts out. "No. No, not gonna die today, Markus. Absolutely fucking not." He took a deep breath, aimed his shotgun, and took charge on the enemy. Markus fires his shotgun at Lancer #1! Hit and Away to 19,16
  22. Taka looked at the other cat, with a modicum of confusion in their expression as she watched them explain the food to her. What was a pancake? She'd seen a cake presented to Princess Yukari before, but not one you make in a pan. Isn't that supposed to be oven baked? "Pancake..." Taka opened the menu back up and started looking through again. Much of the conversation wasn't of interest to Taka, but she tried to maintain listening. The ninja was keen on continuing working how she did as Yukari's servant, but to understand part of why they're here... That partially interested the girl. Her tail straightened, then, the other cat began complimenting her. "I did what was needed of me. I was told to join you, thus I'd fight to keep you all safe. Thanks are unnecessary."
  23. "So it's a fight. Got it. Moving to engage the AHI machines." Markus focused onto the battlefield. There were civilians in danger. "Not in a good position. Gotta get closer..." Markus to 16,15
  24. "Okay..." Was all Taka said as she continued to stare at the menu. She was still confused. There were too many words, and pictures. What do you get? Who do you tell it to? Taka hid the mild frustration she was having, and simply closed the menu and began listening to Eve. Apparently this group was to be made into some sort of unit. Eve hadn't given the full details, but the ninja was quick to respond, "I will join you, as that's what was asked of me." She gave a small nod as she stared down the woman, not maliciously, just out of the seriousness of her words.
