In my opinion the biggest problem with Radiant Dawn’s narrative can be traced back to Part I. Part I’s purpose is purely to introduce the player to Miciah and the Dawn Brigade so players feel conflicted when the Dawn Brigade and Greil Mercenaries thrown down in Part III. However, the writers decided to make Part I follow Miciah liberating Daien from the now evil Begnion Empire. The problem is that once they are liberated and the plot wants them to fight the Greil Mercenaries there is no valid reason for them to. Consequently we get the Blood Pact. The Blood Pact is stupid because it is a plot device erasing everything we did in Part I. Part I is about being free of Begnion and by then we go right back to slaves. This is really odd when you think about it because RD’s plot would be ten times better if Begnion just chose not be jerks to the Daeins. Just imagine if instead of destroying them Begnion chose to try to build them up the whole while patting them on the backs and building anti-laguz and Crimea feelings. After all Begnion really had very little part in the conquering of Daein. This would set up nicely for Part II’s drama if Begnion just gave Daien sovereignty and instituted the young and popular Miciah as Pelleas’ right hand. Crimea would freak out by the resurrection of their enemy and seeming betrayal of their ally. This would also allow Ludveck position of increased militarization understandable since they can't trust anyone. If they had done this Part II could live to its fullest and Crimea’s civil war could spill out to the rest of the world and actually contribute directly to Part III giving the game much cleaner pacing and no dumb plot devices. Daein would naturally side with Begnion in the war because they are friendly people who helped them to their feet and are fighting the laguz and their worst enemy. The most obvious problem with this is that we would get little time with Miciah but would anybody side with her over Ike regardless of how much screen time she got? TL;DR Part I sucks and removing it would allow RD’s narrative to shine more. (I actually like Part IV)

I spent a little over 100$ on mine and I didn't regret it for a second, but I'm a little crazy sooo...

Eh, it is hard to say how she will be received in terms of personality, as we don't know what it is. Right now the debate is really just is she goof as a concept. I think Aqua could have been cool if she was actually treated as a second main character, like the nation and characters split. (i.e. Kamui goes with Nohr and Aqua goes with Hoshido and the player chooses who to follow) so you get to experience different stories through different people's eyes. But Kamui is the fully customizable main lord who you control and get to decide who he/she joins and that makes Aqua feel redundant. Why exactly do we need another character like Kamui if she just going to do what Kamui does and basically be another party member? Does anybody else think that maybe that was the original plan, to have them both be equally main; but they decided a playable and customizable lord was more important so they just chose the Kamui character and left Aqua feeling awkward? It would at least justify her existence.

I guess I should have specified more what I mean about Lyn. I understand that probably statistically Hector is better but when actually playing the game my Lyns seem to be just in general better. For starters I usually play in Hector's mode meaning that he has an incredibly late promotion giving him three missions to level up before endgame, not unreedemable just a small problem. Meanwhile I give Lyn the first heaven seal because Eliwood is usually garbage (on my most recent play through he had 10 strength at 20/10) so while I am not using Hector to him being only okay and an EXP waste at a capped out 20 Lyn is kicking butt and taking names. Also even with them both at 20/20 their strength isn't usually miles apart with my Hectors usually only coming 4-6 strength points ahead and Lyn being 7-8 skill and speed points ahead of him. Pretty much the only things she can't ORKO are generals and Wyvern Lords and the Mani Katti helps out with generals, or will likely crit and kill the enemy. The last thing to note is I just like the Swordmaster class in general, which Lyn obviously is designed off of. So, yeah will 20/20 Hector be a better powerhouse than Lyn, yes. However, Lyn is more helpful for a larger portion of the game even if he outclasses her a bit in endgame. Again, IMO.

Who on earth would argue for Meg over Gatrie? I'm sure they were trolling but that is still just a dumb argument.

Well, nobody has said she is bad or anything just I have always thought of her has one of PoR's best units, for the reasons listed, and most people just seem to not mention her or label her as fine when discussing PoR.

Odd, that you are having such rough luck. IMO he is the 2nd best DB member (behind only Jill) and one of the two units from part 1 I actually might bring into endgame.

It seems FE9 Lethe is hugely underrated. In my playthroughs of that game she is always a powerhouse in all stages of the game and never needs any extra BEXP or stat enhancers. Yeah, there is the transformation gauge but she enters kitty form turn 1 and by the time she untransforms most things are dead. Most people also seem to consider Elincia bad, but she always caps magic quickly and has canto powers so she is always one of my physic units. I also consider Lyn to be the best FE7 lord.

My vote for best story and characters both go to FE9. I just felt like the characters were well developed and likable with real character growth and and most of them weren't one-dimensional. The story to me is just a classic coming of age story done perfectly and memorably with several fun side plots. My favorite one gameplay wise is FE10. I love the 3 tiers and multiple armies and all of its oh-so broken glory of mastery skills, bonus EXP, and invincible characters. Overall my favorite is FE9. FE7 used to be my favorite but when I finally played 9 I feel like it has raw FE-greatness of it but with an amazing story and cast of characters. Even though it isn't a category my favorite soundtrack is FE13, even though the rest of the game isn't that good.

Yeah, I have always thought Astrid and Soren look really creepy in RD but I don't recall Titania being too bad, but I think that the portraits were just in general better in PoR. Although that might just be because I feel like it looked more cell-shaded, and I really like cell-shaded art styles.

I really like laguz designs in general but Ranulf, Tibarn, Janaff, and the Black Dragons are especially good. Other designs I like would be RD Elincia, RD Geoffrey, PoR Ike, and The Black Knight.
