I never implied it didnt exist as much as pointed out the fact that it would feel unnatural for a minority to take up a large portion of the representation of something. Ofcourse surrogates existed but that kind of would decrease your chance on them bearing a crest providing they didnt have something special about them wouldnt it? At this point your just trying to break simple logic to find a work around, it feels unnatural just to make sexual representation a priority.

I mean all I can honestly say for that is there is a certain kind of false equivalency to say a guy befriending a girl doesnt have different intentions than a guy befriending a guy on average, I cant say there isn't some bias there like you mentioned but on average they really arent an equal comparison.

Would have to see a source that mentions it was originally intended by the japanese because that part is honestly baffling to me considering their long held views on homosexuality, they have a history of over emphasizing things they have little understanding of in a character like race and sexuality. But providing your correct on then all I can say is oh well missed opportunity. Funny thing about that is those things were never boasted in social circles but have always been looked down on when light is shined on them. Plus in context of this game is would really seem problematic for people to be trying to breed for crests when half of the cast wants to run of in a reproductiveless relationship, and implying they commonly used surrogates is suggesting they are far more socially matured than would be believable.

It's all perspective really, personally I wouldn't like the idea of inventing a toaster and then someone comes around and tries to rebrand my product as a sock dryer or something, my perspective on it is at the end of the day the original design of the character probably isnt intended to be that by the Japanese dev's, english dubs tend to want to take liberties that isnt necessarily there's. If he was 100% made for bisexual intentions then sure, other than that make a new character for that rather than shoehorn it in on an existing one. Edit: just noticed the part about it being planned by the japanese devs as well. My thoughts towards that is at the end of the day is they decided against it so respect that. It just wasnt apart of his final design. But dont remember anything being said on it being intended for the Japanese, my gf read this and wants to check it, any memory of where it was mentioned? Because shes wondering why they didnt go with that on 4 golden.

Fair enough point but even saying that is speculating away from a norm. At the end of the day it just looks like an agenda, if they want that to be the case then I just hope it enhances the character rather than make them a trope.

Yosuke, you mean the character whose entire story about being inlove with and chasing a female who wanted little to do with him would just be flipped around and turned gay because? And that's not even considering the fact that that was probably only an english dub decision, he wasnt meant to be that way originally and conceptions like that ruin the basic image of a bromance, nowadays 2 guys cant even get along really well together without being shipped as gay.

Would be nice to not have sexuality be forced in as the main character trait. It's a reality that heterosexuality is a norm and it's only logical that its represented that way, why shoehorn in something for the sake of it just being there, like someone else mentioned earlier if it's going to be included it should be really well written and important to the character beyond that it's just fan service which not everyone is a fan of. It's still just video games afterall, it's up to designer discretion.

Funnily enough that mentality proves itself false time and time again when you underestimate the vocal "minority" just like there can be so many of you pleased with what was presented people can easily be slighted the order way, having a different opinion doesn't make you a rare breed, it just makes you objective.

i agree there is more to warriors games,If your looking at it for being just a warriors game, but the main complaint is that it doesn't do fire emblem justice, half of the puzzle is solved and the other half is a mess. Its not like Nintendo hasn't or won't get warriors games, but people wanted that as a good mix with a good representation of a fire emblem game and some just don't see this as a good representation of a fire emblem game. I have looked at game play time and time again, it looks nice but ive also felt this way looking or playing other musuo. If your really excited to play a musuo game with your favorite awakening and fates characters by all means no one can blame you, but its hard to justify it to someone who cares little for those characters and could have easily been convinced with characters they connect with more.

You just about articulated my every complaint down to the dismissal of what HW did right.

I always get their system out of respect and nostalgia but I'm not one to run around buying games i know I hardly care for and that's what I feel like this game will be to me, I'm not starving for a warriors game decent or not because not many of them are bad but I can say I have gained interest in other series over the years like, SMT, monster Hunter, xeno series and a bit more. Haven't tried a few of those games because I was a avid fps hater growing up but warming back up to the genre again and a friend has been getting me to try dark souls which I like.

I guess you could chalk it up to that, I barely like most of Nintendo's games even tho I grew up on them til this point, if it's not smash or FE I rarely care for it, not a Mario fan, Pokemon depends on the generation and LoZ is specific games. I know at this point my opinions are conventional but id consider it decently mixed.

Don't recall them saying they plan on putting any older characters in this current game they said sequel. (Not you) but people just love to seem to pick this funny argument that when we say were looking for a character in a game were only gonna play that one character that's retarded to assume because ofc were going to play other characters. I don't buy smash to just play FE or zelda characters but I sure as he'll ain't buying it if their not included. Just like how those people see characters that say fire emblem for them I see characters I hardly like as fire emblem characters so it has the opposite effect on me.

Problem is we alrdy know what this game looks like in the next 3 dlc packs and they alrdy let us know older games aren't in this games future so it doesn't change a thing mentioning the time difference. If I have a problem with it being all awakening fates now with a few bones thrown to SD I'll still have a problem with it then.

The problem was trying that formula in the first place, it works for HW because of the small cast but it's because the cast was so much smaller why it worked, you chose 3 out of 14 games that's alot of displeased fans your asking to simpathize when they have no reason to. The way I see it, when their ready to sell to the fans who are in are looking for older games, my wallet will be out, until then it's not fair to call the detractor's their demographic because like they said maybe in a sequel. I'm not getting this game as charity I'm buying it as a interested customer from a potential merchant, if they can't sell me their product that's failure on their end when they had all the information they needed to suite my needs.
