  1. Honestly, hearing this is a massive relief for me, especially because I revel in the story of a game above all other aspects. So far it looks good and even though I was initially unsure about the full voice acting it seems to have brought things together well. I can't wait to get my hands on my copy next month!
  2. Yeah, I really shouldn't be spending so much money but I justify it by saying that In the future I'll have a shit tonne of collectors editions in a collection. Because honestly, I've mostly grown out of anime and games, but I am absolutely smitten with this series. I love it and it's important to me and out of everything recreational that I have loved this has been the only thing that has lasted.
  3. Damn, that's a really good idea. I wish that I had thought of that. Yeah, in Australia the limited edition is $100 (~70€). Pretty much I'm getting it because I love the art books but also I collect pins ... so the cute pins had me needing it. Currently, my Canadian friend is playing the Japanese version of the game and has loved it so I'm sure it'll be worth it in terms of the game. I'm just hoping that the art book (my major draw in) will also be equally as good. Guess I'll find out on the day.
  4. I know, I loved the way Clive spoke in a more formal and old-fashioned way. I felt that it was a small touch that added to the medieval fantasy of the world. Whereas, Fates' writing didn't really have that tiny detail. I feel, for myself anyway, that it makes a big difference.
  5. (Forgive me if none of this makes sense, just getting out of a massive assignment write up and have the worst headache smh). Hmm... what aspects would I introduce into Sacred Stones (for example and because of bias). Spoiler tags just because it's long. There's probably more to think of in terms of mechanics and how they might be retained or improved, however, I'm pretty much asleep at the keyboard right now so I'll leave it here. If anyone else can think of anything I'd love to hear it.
  6. To be honest, I would love to see more remakes, especially Genealogy and Sacred Stones (Sacred Stones for dat Valter though). But I suppose that the potential to get remakes depends on how well SoV does.
  7. i really hope so, haha, I think that this would be a lot of fun.
  8. I've preordered the special edition of the game and will probably pick it up on the day. However, I will not be able to play it till after my exams and even then I don't know how much time I'll have to dedicate to it. So I'm planning just to play little bits at a time when I can, especially because the months after it will probably be the most intense and stressful of my life because of the nature of my degree.
  9. I really love the animations, especially when the horse kneels down.
  10. I really can't wait to see more of the artwork, it has been stunning so far.
  11. I actually really like the quote about gods at the end.
  12. That was fucking beautiful. Jesus, there was not one thing I disliked about that excerpt. So far I'm really liking the look of Berkut as a villain character, he seems quite tragic rather than outright devious, so I pray that this will lead to both an interesting character and amazing character development on his part. Especially coming off of the back of the Fates villains who were one-dimensional in my opinion.
  13. I know that this might seem like a little detail and I'm not sure if I'm imagining it or not, but I like how the map turned to a diagonal when Tobin attacked the Terror to reflect his position (diagonally) from it. You can see the caskets and tiles on the floor change their orientation (couldn't think of a better way of phrasing that...).
  14. Sounds great so far. As I have no experience with Gaiden I can't really comment on it, but I can say that I'd like to see Genealogy and Sacred Stones remakes in the future.
  15. Yeah, when I watch a little bit of the Japanese livestream I'll be looking out for all the little things.
  16. Hoping it'll come to Australia. I'm also hoping that my local store, when I call up, will have some left over from the people that deposited $50. If they do I'll take some time to go there against the three 60% assignments I have and pre-order it.
  17. I know these are small details, but I really enjoyed: The scaling of the maps compared with the characters. Everything seems to be scaled nicely - even the scaling of the horses against the people as well. The click you can hear when Celica summons the flame to guide her through the dungeon. The arch of the arrow when an archer unit fires. The cat when you get the dried shieldfish item. Also speaking of that ... did Alm (presumably) just pick up something that the cat was eating??? Saber's post battle animation. The waves beneath the overworld boat. It's all these little details that I cherish. It makes me feel like so much care and attention has gone into the game.
  18. Pillars of modern warfare, shitty villains with no development or human motive, have no place in Valentia (Please let the villains get some decent development this time .... please ........)
  19. I have not played it yet but am hoping to after I finish Sacred Stones. I am very excited for Echoes though and have enjoyed some of the other old games that I have partially played through. I did try to play Gaiden before, however, I was hooked more into some of the other games like Path of Radiance and Genealogy of the Holy War and never thought to return to it.
  20. I think that supports have become integral to adding additional "flesh" the characters of the series and I am excited to see them here in Echoes. However, I hope that they bring more depth to the supports rather than some of the silly tropes. Personally, after some of the supports from Awakening and Fates, I hope that there are some more serious conversations, perhaps even some darker ones. Upon saying this, I know not all of the supports in Fates and Awakening were "silly", but for me there were not many conversations that were inherently dark, mysterious, challenging or intriguing either.
