  1. If you're not using Chad for combat, then you're not getting the supports built up in a smaller time frame, and those support bonuses won't tend to come into play because chests like to be away from the route to the throne. And that's where the personal bias comes in. I'll use anyone provided I like their character (I'll use Gordin in Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon, for example). It's completely impractical, but I do so anyway. My general strategy is to send Chad with Lugh and/or Ray over to the chests, while everybody else goes for the throne, usually. It's not always smart strategically, but I can usually get the job done eventually.
  2. Yeah, no. Seriously considering using Chad for combat in FE6 HM is like saying that an Igrene - Fa - Sofiya support triangle is viable. Well, it's true he's bad for combat (except against mister generic brigand, maybe...), but he is useful for doing the things that only thieves can do: opening chests (without keys). His usefulness may fall off of the spectrum, however, if you aren't obsessive about making sure every single chest isn't opened.
  3. I know she doesn't promote. That was bad wording on my part. Sorry. And congratulations for beating it! If you're still taking ideas for new challenges, try hacking everyone into magic-using dancers. Well, that's not as much challenging as it is just plain fun, but I digress. Once again, nice job!
  4. Like I said before, I'm fairly biased. I keep Chad in most of the game because I like Chad. The practicality of that is an entirely different matter... Although while he's there, the supports do help.
  5. Ahhh... I forgot about Myrrh! And she doesn't even need to be promoted to destroy everything, does she? It's a shame that dragonstone only has 50 uses.
  6. Totally never thought of the besrerk thing. Genius! I really ought to try that. And although I never have this problem (I always train Canas), I imagine Ursula could be fairly annoying if you don't have a Luna user handy.
  7. I'm pretty picky, too. And biased. :) But I don't care. Geese is my favorite Axe user (Beserker<<Warrior) and I don't think I'll ever like Lott. But I'm also pretty NM oriented (yes, I know this is a HM topic...), so could that be why? I think I should also add that it may not be Percival being bad necessarily, but just my other units of choice ending up good/RNG Blessed
  8. I'd imagine the only reason you can even beat the game is because this is Sacred Stones. Even the power of RNG Abuse probably couldn't save you in other games.
  9. In my humble, opinion, both potential warriors of FE6 are not-too-great. I don't know about you, but Gonzales and Geese have both ended up spectacularly for me, especially Gonzales for the Hard Mode Bonuses (although I agree, the Lilina deployment could get a bit messy...). My paladins (Percival) always end up pretty sucky, but his RNG might just hate me. But back to the support thing (this is what the topic is about, right?), The Clarine-Rutger A is good, as well as the Lugh-Ray-Chad triangle (if you're planning to use those characters, but I would), which is Lugh-Ray A, Lugh-Chad B, and Ray-Chad B.
  10. is fending off the little child that secretly wants to kill me.

  11. I tried, and I couldn't do it. You were talking about trying to use the lava tiles, right?
  12. I dunno, druid-Ewan usually turns out pretty well for me, at least compared to the other shaman you can get *glares at Knoll*.
  13. To my knowledge, there is an RN generated for the enemy, and the enemy's weapon, right? I think that a glitch occurs somewhere in the realm of the weapon being generated, leaving us with Mister Magic-Using brigand, or warrior, or whatever. And I've never heard of the unarmed sages from The Will of Good and Evil patch. I'll keep an eye out for it.
  14. Lloyd has this annoying little habit of going after my slowest person on the field, and doubling/criticaling them. Linus has this annoying little habit of finishing off any surivivors.
