She(Flora) could have used a few more supports to be honest.
Not to mention....She apparently gets put on the bus during the Invisible Kingdom which is a waste if you ask me. Would have liked to have seen her interact with some of the Hoshido cast or even Jakob

Not to mention she is so far in the lead by a few votes in that category.

He's not the only person. One of the first things that stood out for me with Rinkah was that she looked down on Kamui for his naivety.
Also, seeing as how most people here aren't Japanese, I hardly think it's surprising that some of the voters haven't played the game yet. But the implication that you have to dislike Azura once you play the game seems slightly rude to Japanese Azura fans.
Its pretty much rude to anyone to anyone with a difference in opinion or taste it wouldn't make a difference if it was Aqua or someone else. Also as DanMan people can like a character for different number of reasons or a combination of them.

I have such a soft spot for Benoit and Ignis... Ah... I'm surprised Izana doesn't have more votes on him though...
Pretty depressing being the only character so far without a single vote.

That was intentional I tried to create a bunch of categories but the limit is 5. So I had to fuse both factions genders together. :P
Note I cant figure out how set a limit to how many though....

So with all the new exposure, news, and even spoilers I thought it would be interesting to see what the impressions were of Fates' cast.
Who are your favorite characters now that you have learned a bit(and for some a lot) more about them?

I actually grew fond of Nyx. I like her a hell of a lot more than most of the characters. She has a very interesting backstory and her voice is nice despite from what I am reading she is not a very good unit.

I'll admit I find the whole thing rather odd and I had to do a double take when I read that such a thing was in the game. Its not horrible but it does feel a bit out of place.
That being said I like the animation and the well crafted character models although some of them like Setsuna for example move in strange ways. Also some of the dialogue can be rather sweet and endearing and at times gives me an little extra insight into the character(s).
All in all I'm in the middle. -
He's only who has shonen hair, red armor (I love red), samurai, looks hot, is cool, his supports are good and is a hot samurai. No one but him is for my Femui.
Yeah waifu are a bit harder to find but I want Flora to be Mamui's waifu in the fic. She's a cute, not clumsy, blue haired maid.
Ah so it comes down to a check list?
As for the second part if that is the direction you are heading then I'm looking forward to see how it progresses. It should be a rather unorthodox pair up. Then again I don't know what the average pairings are for either gender hahaha.

I can't believe so many people think that it would be better if the Hoshido siblings were actually related to Kamui. Don't get me wrong I do agree it would be better but my screaming Ryoma fangirl doesn't want him to be Kamui's brother. He's the only guy that has husbando material. I feel mixed feelings towards the not blood siblings thing because of it.
Come now there are plenty dudes in the cast who are made of husbando material. You try finding a handful of decent waifu characters for a Male Kamui because for me very few make the cut.

One thing that really bothered me was.....
The parent hazard syndrome striking again. I think even if the Hoshido siblings were no really your brothers and sisters Mikoto is still your mother. It might have been cool if stuck around a little longer so their could be this mother and child bonding. Hell they could bump her off if they still wanted to but I think it would been a bit refreshing if they held off on doing so since it seems to be a death sentence to be the parents of the heroes....

I would hope in a redrafting of the story that they make Kamui's character more equal or even subordinate to his siblings in terms of authority and influence on the story. Special dragon form or not, he's just an adopted child/step sibling and not even the eldest child. He'd be better suited as a viewpoint character rather than have the story centered on him.
I know supports are optional so the pseudo incest isn't canon (besides Camilla's feelings for Kamui) but I'd like the sibling relations on both sides to remain familial bonds. Having fake incest that is never discussed by other characters is bad for the story and undermines the family theme.
I doubt they would do something like this you know because self-inserting and all that jazz. I was hoping for Kamui to be his/her own character rather than a blank slate but that is one of the many side dishes on this plate of fanservice.
I definitely agree about the siblings though as the whole idea was poorly handled and was a real fart on the story and its themes.

The existence of Dragonstones is weird enough considering Dragons didn't become Manaketes in the backstory.

I'll make sure to warn you guys once it's out.
Righ now I know I want the children to get worked into the fic especially Shinonome and the Kannas. I have an idea but it's a bit flawed: I think that maybe the time travel thing/alternate universe thing will get a comeback or have the war last enough years for them to be born and maybe have them directely related to getting to Touma and ending the war once and for all.
Relating the third path with the rest will be hard but not impossible. And I want a way to have the three paths together even if it is ambitious but hey you go big or you go home.
Double Kamui = Double Kanna!
As for the time travel it might be the best way to go about doing so unless you could create something new but that too could prove to be a bit tricky.
It's actually just a Blessed Lance I believe.

The Hoshido and Nohr story will be happening at the same time and will be very diferent in terms of how/when events happen or things are discovered if at all. But they will cross paths often and show interactions between opposite side characters in battle and scripted characters death will not happen for the good of both stories.
Also this fanfic will be plublished in fanfiction.net once it's finished.

Also bonus points if you figure out a way to work the kids in. I'm curious to see what angle you go with should you take whack at it. ;)

I have a plan for Mamui but it's for a later time because I'm going from easy (Hoshido) to hard (Nohr) but I have a plan for both so don't worry.
Ryoma is in my fic the nephew of Sumeragi's first wife who was adopted by her when he was a young child. In real japanese law a person can adopt their nephew/niece and raise them as the child and it's a very ancient law and they can also make them their heirs. So Sumeragi by marrying Ryoma aunt/"mother" could easily make him the heir to Hoshido's throne. Ryoma grew upup looking up to the man who gave him so much and tries to be like him in every way. I think this is a good enough excuse.
Ah so correct if I am wrong are you going with back to back events with these two characters then? Or from this way this response sounds it will be two separate narratives altogether?
Also that is a rather solid explanation for Ryoma plus I learned something today about Japanese law! :3

I really can't allow Ryoma to be related to the Kamuis simply because I ship FemuixRyoma. But I can and will have them be the full blooded siblings of Hinoka, Takumi and Sakura. Hydra/Anakos will not be their father in any way shape or form. The Nohr siblings will all be blood related minus Aqua because AquaxMarx and plot. And pairings will not much to do with the story and they will be doned down the ones more obvious will the Kamuis related.
So you are going for the two Kamuis then? Sounds like you have somethings planned for a female Kamui but the male counterpart sounds like he is just floating about.
So Ryoma will not be related to the other siblings for shipping reasons? Then have you come up with an explanation for this?

So here are my thoughts and advice.
- Dark and Edgy does not always mean a good story: Just because one throws in a bunch of blood, guts, and angst it doesn't mean the narrative wont end up pretentious garbage. I never felt the Fire Emblem were great a being serious war stories. So my idea is a balance don't saturate it with just red food coloring or heaps of sugar.
-One Kamui: In my opinion you should only have a sole main protagonist and make certain he/she is well rounded and believable. I know what your trying to do with two of them but it could over complicate things down the road. If you want to show the view point of the opposite then I suggest have it told from that of one of the major characters on that side like for example should you do that with Nohr have it be Xander since he is closely associated with things both military and political. That is just my suggestion If you still want to go for it best of luck to you but be careful with how you juggle them around especially if you r going for Cync vs Idealism.
Crush the Heart Candies: In my opinion if I was trying my hand at this I would get rid of the romance or at the least cut it down considerably. You have a lot on your plate and I think the fic would only become bloated should you stick in a bunch shipping especially the kind that has no bearing on the story. For example if you want do two Kamuis why not focus solely on their romantic relationships and work to develop them?
Flip the Cradle: If the kids become too much of a pain to find them a place in your story without doing a HUGE time skip then just leave them out you'll save yourself a hell of a headache. I'm leaving them out for my crossover fic because they only create more questions.
Got some more but I'm trying to avoid a wall of text. -
-The Nohr Storyline(I actually really like Invisible Kingdom and Birthright despite some hiccups).
- Children returning. The explanation for their being is really forced and they have no bearing on the plot.
- Kamuisexuals. I like the characters(especially Yuugiri
) but I wished they could support with other characters.
- Characters like Soleil(Faint looking at girls, talking to girls, obsessing overs girls yet I'm not gay or even BI? Oh and I'm going to flirt with my mom!), Camilla(Kamui this and Kamui that! I'll kill everyone for Kamui!), and Felicia(Clumsy girl is clumsy) who only have one gimmick or are just a pain in the a%#.
- The Skinship. The actual mini-game is weird but some of the character dialogue really sweet and at times gives me an extra insight into the character(This of course varies).
- The theme of Fates is flushed down the drain for.....More waifus and husbandos by making the siblings love interests

- Along with the Skinship and kids there is way too much fanservice. The pandering is real in Fates!
- The way the supports are handled this time is confusing. There is mixed bag of quality in terms of the writing, every S-support for some reason ends with marriage instead of the two characters just being together, Kids can't talk to other characters but one another and their parents, a lot of recycling for certain supports, and the pairing endings are rather shallow from what I heard.....
- Dress up! -
How are you managing to play it? Sounds like its a pain to understand the narrative the way the game is now.

Any new supports translated for Mitama, Kagerou, or Rinka? Also anyone know if F!Kamui x Yuugiri has been translated by anyone?
