    The game have weapons to defend itself (good story, artwork, mechanics) and its different enough of traditional fire emblem structure to appeal to not fe-fans, but at the same time that factors could being reason to generate media backlash (like "this is no fire emblem", "they put the name just to sell it", "where are the children?" or even "where are the conectivity features?" things like that) but that's a worst case scenario. Hope information raise soon to have a better view of shadows of valentia, but for now i'm going 50-50

    We are just a corner to the release (3 months for japan 4 for the rest of the world) and no information apart the trailer have arrive soon i don't know what to expect for the game in a good way. I know that until now heroes has been the main focus as is releasing in this days, but a little more info will help to understand this upcoming game and its chances a lot better.

    To be honest i believe that Echoes will not be able to live for the people's expectations. I see a very good entry to the series coming in Echoes (the little i see in the trailer and the original game it's worth a lot of hours of gameplay in my perspective) but not good enough to become "the savior of the franchise" but a new center of criticism and backlash.

    I played long ago but my rom didn't work well and droped the game, yesterday i buy japanense copy of the game so be able to play it before the new one

    I really like female Corrin design (great fe cipher artwork) and in the gameplay it's no so bad, but the game its so avatar-centric that some characters exists to support him (all his retainers personal skills, Azura to guide them through the plot and the siblings to be their family) and thanks to that we are not able to know the name of the continent we try to bring peace. So... let's hope that Echoes is a game amazing enough to help us leave this debate behind or at least bring us a new one.

    My hopes for the game are that the gameplay features are well updated (like the weapon triangle, more weapons, adjustments to mechanics like spells or bows range and i couldn't care less for the game to have supports). In my opinion a graphic update would not be enough for the game success.

    long time ago i tried on an emulator and my rom didnt work well, so i buy a copy yesterday to play the original game to see what to expect better

    I have my hopes high now. but we need more info to be able to se were the things are going in Shadows of Valentia, the plot is solid enough to no need drastic changes (if there are implemented), Gaiden original gameplay is well suited to merge with the style of recent titles of the series (even some elements of Gaiden are used in those games with few diferences) the "twist" that hope for the game is a good aplication of recent gameplay mechanics other than just supports: like skills, penalties for weapons, a new version of the pair up system for battles, somekind of unit cosmetic customization.

    I think Fire Emblem Echoes is in a tough position thanks to the game structure. It needs to be the balance of gaiden original gameplay and the elements fo recent fire emblems titles to be able to obtain general success. Gaiden is a title very different to the franchise in general but i found that his gameplay elements could be well received by the international but at the same time some of them are very outdated, it really needs that "twist" that mention in the trailer than just being graphic update of the original.

    After beating FE CQ the only thing i feel is that about the plot is that Corrin patched up lot of things he help to broke in the first place. I can't think of CQ Corrin as villainous, because as least will lead it to a more solid conclusion even as a villain than being praised for being a poor excuse of a chosen hero by everyone including the ones affected by his/her bad choices.

    Fates plot is a mess and choosing Leo for a manga is a very safe choice. At least i could say that i'm curious of what they could try to add to the world building.

    I'm leaning more to something new as now that the franchise is considered with more importance by Nintendo, that fact it's a huge game changer. But actually i'm more interested in the opposite: how the actual gameplay elements, public perception and game design could affect an old title remake?
