  1. Happy birthday!

  2. Uh...what? I...I don't even know... Just, what? I cannot come up with any response. I am speechless here, and not in a happy way.
  3. Wow, I didn't know my voice could be so high pitched. Hope I didn't wake anyone up, haha. I haven't read any supports or anything (avoiding spoilers as much as I can), so I can only hope they're well written and all. I'm not unhappy (pretty obvious), although...I am disappointed with the limited options. At the very least they could add a fan favorite for each. Zero I can...kinda get (though I think Silas would make more sense), but Shara? That's just so...random. Add Silas and maybe Azura or Camilla and you make way more people happy. Also, version exclusive? Man...just cruel. Over all, I'm very, very happy, but also pretty disappointed with the lack of choices. Oh well, that's life I guess.
  4. Not actually blood family on either end? ... What? Wasn't the entire point to choose loyalty to the people that loved and raised you, or the kind and peaceful blood family that never got a chance to raise you? If there are no blood ties to Hoshido, then I'm going with Nohr, no doubt about it. It just makes about a million times more sense the way I see it. If it's true, then I'm honestly disappointed with the Hoshido side already. As far as being able to marry my in game little sister(s)...ick. I have nothing particularly against incest, but my in game little sister(s)? That's just weird to me, especially for Elise. But at the same time...if I want to 100% the game...I have to at some point marry her...I really don't want to marry Elise or Sakura...
  5. I kid you not, I jumped up and squealed like a little girl when I read the spoiler. Now I have the dumbest smile on my face. I'm probably a little too happy about this, even if it is a "companion" kind of deal. Now I might've misunderstood (3:30am over here, tired), but did it say that only characters aside from the avatar can do the A+? If I read it right, then that's a bit weird. Why would the avatar, of all characters, be the character who couldn't receive it? Regardless, I'm obviously very happy about this. Definitely a step in the right direction, as you said.
  6. For sure! Since we're not getting same-sex marriage I'll kind of have to, considering I'm very gay for Azura and a little for Felicia too...
  7. Shoot, had a long post all written...then my computer started being weird. Now I need to do it again on my phone! Yay... First off, I think I have implied I'm LGBT which is not the case. I was more or less just repeating what some LGBT friends have told me and that what I said is often what they feel. That said, feel free to take my opinion with a grain of salt. Now I never, ever meant to imply that only LGBT people could feel that way. I even thought about writing a message saying something like, "I don't mean to imply that only LGBT people can feel that way" but for whatever reason decided against. I think I worded a lot of things wrong. Apologies for that. I meant to say that people being defined by something like that is wrong.Definitely don't trust a game to make you or let it define you, or ever expect to always see eye to eye with it. That said...these are self-insert characters so you should be able to, well, self-insert to an extent. I just don't think it's right that LGBT people always need to go an extra mile for somethings, especially things like video games. Again, feel free to take my opinion with a grain of salt. I would like it if we could avoid calling each other wrong though, considering this all comes down to opinions. Again, my apologies for implying some of the wrong things. My parents don't live in the South but they are very Christian. I'm an atheist myself so I can definitely relate to you on that one.
  8. Definitely. I think some straight people (some) kind of underestimate what it's like being a part of LGBT. Have you ever went home and cried just because society puts you in a box that you can't get out of and because you're always made to feel different or weird? Ever been afraid of telling someone something about yourself because they might just be a psycho that will beat, rape, murder you or all three? Have you ever played a game in which you still can't be yourself and still have to feel different? Sure, you'll get used to it, but that doesn't mean it won't hurt. As others have said, I'm sure you would hate it if every character was LGT and you therefore would have to switch your in game gender just to be with said character. That's what happens to LGBT people. Maybe it's small, but to, for once, feel like a human being instead of "LGBT", to not have to feel so different, I think for a lot of LGBT people that would be amazing. Unfortunately, it seems it isn't happening in Fates. I don't hate the children system, but as others have said, I'd gladly trade them for same-sex marriage in the game. Now as far as how it would work in the game if it did happen, I think someone said that maybe we could have a setting to change a characters sexuality and I like that best. The only alternative to (kind of) keep everyone happy would be to make everyone bi, which as others have said does seem a bit strange. I'm still hoping that maybe there'll be an adoption thing and maybe they could still include it...but nah, that's a false hope. Oh well...maybe someday...
  9. Corrin sounds fine but makes no sense to me. Kamui is alright but I really dislike its correct pronunciation (Kam-oo-ee). I'm probably going to call him/her Kamui (pronounced incorrectly because it sounds better to me, Kam-oo). I'm do wish they would've picked a different gender neutral name though. So many nice ones out there.
  10. Jeez...people are being over dramatic. Well, assuming it's just an optional feature, if it actually has anything to do with the story then I'll be upset. Really though if kids are just kind of an extra and optional feature in the game then I don't have any problem with it. After how much hype Awakening got I think it makes sense that they're going to incorporate some things from it. I can understand disliking this but not playing the game just because of kids and marriage sounds downright stupid to me, especially considering this looks like such an amazing game. They (as far as I know) haven't even confirmed that they'll be future kids, nor have they confirmed (again, as far as I know) that they will be relevant to the story. No need to get upset about something that is more likely than not an optional feature for the people who like that marriage and children stuff and we'll probably get great units out of it, too. Plus, I don't believe it's even been confirmed to be true. I don't care about it at all as long as there's no incest involved. However, if it is true and is part of the story...then I'm mad. I don't want this game to be Awakening 2.0. I want it to take out the flaws (not to say that the future children and marriage were flaws) Awakening had and make it a better game, like I think pretty much everyone does. Really I'm just super disappointed we're not getting same-sex marriage...I really wanted to play as F!Kamui and still be able to marry Aqua...
  11. Haha, thanks! I'm probably not even halfway skilled enough to enter a writing competition, but hey, it sounds like it might be fun so maybe I'll check it out. Thanks for mentioning it. Heh, thank you!
  12. Tiny Bella

    Hi!

My name is, as you can likely see, Bella. Nice to meet you! I'm just a dumb little 13 year old, hence the "Tiny" (although there is an incredibly short story behind it which has nothing to do with my age or height...I'm only slightly more original than that!) I like video games and have since I was 4 or 5. I only just recently got into Fire Emblem, though. See, I actually got Awakening sometime in 2013 (I think, anyway...) but for whatever reason dropped it. I can be pretty picky. At one point I got sick and was bored of my other games. I ended up finding Fire Emblem: Awakening in my game case and tried playing it again...I had my eyes glued to my 3DS screen and Awakening for months after. I've actually been lurking here for a while now but only just now (a week before I have to hide under a rock to avoid spoilers for Fates...smart me) decided to create an account. FE:A is still the only one I've played, mostly because the ones I've wanted to play I don't have the right system for. Crazy excited for Fire Emblem Fates though! As for other interests...hmm...anime, manga, reading, writing, and that's about it. Sorry, I'm pretty boring. Now that my bad introduction is over, I'll just say it one more time, nice to meet you!
