  1. I like the concept of both avatars and S-rank supports. I enjoy making a custom unit and romantic interaction between characters, with the caveat that it is done well. In fact, I wouldn't be averse to characters only having a few S-rank supports (as opposed to every opposite-gender character being available) if that meant they would be better written or have more depth. Just... no children.
  2. I actually like the designs we've seen so far, especially Claude's. They're simple, but still distinctive. The over-the-top, ridiculous character designs of Fates (Peri and Camilla bugged me) weren't my cup of tea.
  3. Let's see: Azama/Sakura: I don't like this pairing whatsoever. This support is on this list for the sole reason that in their B support, Sakura tells Azama to shut up then breaks her staff in half with her bare hands. Odin/Kagero: They're on the same wavelength, I guess. It was cute to see Kagero get so excited about her "silkwyrm" painting coming to life. Arthur/Felicia: The two of them can combine to create one outrageously clumsy mega-person. Arthur/Beruka: I didn't expect to like this at all, but I think this is my favorite support for Beruka? Funnily enough, this support actually had some solid development and believable chemistry. Benny/Camilla: Adorable. Contains the great line, "I'll have you know I've never punched a bear in the face." Camilla/Ignatius: I know the mother supports are generic, but Camilla calling Ignatius her "baby boy" and how his squemishness around bugs reminds her of when he was little is just so cute. Benny/Charlotte: A sweet, natural progression. Kaze/Orochi: While their first supports are a bit lame, their A and S supports are quite... flirtatious. I like it. Like, I could definitely see them being into each other.
  4. God, Peri is so, so terrible. I honestly wouldn't have minded if the localization team changed her personality completely (or at least to something marginally more tolerable). Everyone says Peri's murderous personality is treated as a "cute quirk," and it totally is. In Charlotte's supports with her she's like, "It's awesome you're willing to show everyone your true self!" In her supports with Arthur, he buys her a knife (that she calls a "stabbing stick") and is just like, "Haha, there she goes! What a card!" I also have her permanently benched, and there's no way I'm marrying her to someone. That's just cruelty.
  5. Speaking of which, can someone shed some light on why Oboro is so popular here? Don't get me wrong--I like Oboro. Her supports--from what I've seen--don't always revolve around a single shtick, and (thank god) I don't think she's really an anime archetype. But she just seems like such a fan favorite on this forum and I can't really figure out why.
  6. If anyone has gotten more of these comments, I'd be interested in seeing them. Um, for science.
  7. They made her attraction to women a bit more explicitly stated in the localized version. Her only romantic supports (so I've heard) are now with Forrest and M!Corrin, and when she's introduced she's clearly said to be hitting on another girl, to which Laslow says she has great taste in women and men. And in her support with Ophelia, she flat-out says she is interested in her. I think, at the very least, she's being portrayed as bisexual in the localization.
  8. Here's the line-- "Now I don't need to chase you—I AM you! I've gotta go find a private place with a mirror! Heeheeheehee!" The support is, um, really creepy.
  9. Soleil just can't win, can she? I'm reading her support with Ophelia right now, and I'm getting those "lesbian that takes straight girls' rejections as a challenges" vibes. I guess that's what happens when you base your characters around a single gimmick.
  10. Oh god, please tell me he doesn't actually say that. I was planning on marrying Izana once (I liked Japanese Izana), but if that actually a real thing he says, forget it.
  11. I'm reading Mitama's supports with her mother, and I love her manner of speech.
  12. I kind of like those platonic S-supports. Kind of actually gives the characters some modicum of character and preference. Oh god, but the pickles. I actually had to pause the thing when I was listening to Hisame's lines and just reflect on life. This aspect of the localization reminds me of the folly of men.
  13. How did the Niles support change? Edit: Just read the M!Corrin/Niles support, and it seems to stay pretty true to the Japanese version. And also contains the great line, "Just another Tuesday for lil' Niles, sadly."
  14. Man, I'm really disappointed with Azama. When I first saw him, I thought he was going to be kind of Stahl-esque for some reason. And then I read his character was "sharp-tongued" and I was down with that. I can dig a Puckish, sarcastic character. But no. He's just a douche. It's my fondest hope that one day, FE writers will learn not to base characters around a single gimmick.
