  1. I don't know if I just got RNG blessed or what, but my Rinkah has been an unstoppable killing machine after just a couple level ups. She's one of my most useful units in my current Birthright playthrough. I also paired her up with Kaze.
  2. I agree with you that it is better in Fates than Awakening... my original comment was targeted at the topic creator and their original post.
  3. I disagree with your opinion about the pair-up system. The pair-up system in awakening was extremely powerful and practically broke the game, making too easy (unless you were playing Lunatic/Lunatic+ with no grinding, then it was necessary). I think the pair-up system in Fates was an improvement, and a step in the right direction, but not quite perfect. I also think the new system is MORE dependable because you know exactly when you'll be able to dual guard and/or dual attack. You can more reliably plan your strategies around it. I still think it's a little too strong of a mechanic, and I don't like how guard stance is usually the better option as opposed to attack stance. I'd like to see it more balanced in the next game.
  4. Has anyone been able to read/translate what the new DLC is, and any possible rewards?
  5. I usually reference these lists when naming weapons: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_mythological_objects#Weapons https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_magical_weapons Some of my favorites are: Dáinsleif, Galatine, Longinus and Anglachel
  6. I am aware that you need the appropriate jewel to forge a weapon, I have plenty of each kind and have forged some iron and unique weapons. It just won't let me forge bronze or brass weapons. Edit: I figured it out, I was trying to forge a Hoshido weapon (Brass Naginata) and I am currently playing Conquest. Funny how all the other weapons I forged just happened to be Nohr based.
  7. Amiibos are not "region-locked", so to speak. You can use an Amiibo from any region on any 3DS. I have a japanese Marth and he works just fine with all of my Amiibo compatible games, including my U.S. version of Fire Emblem: Fates.
  8. Can you not forge bronze/brass weapons, or am I missing something?
  9. Okay, it might be, I honestly have no idea. So if I visit someone's castle at 11:30 pm, come 12:01am I can visit it again because it's technically the next day?
  10. When I try to visit someone else's castle for a second time, it says try again tomorrow. Does anyone know the exact cool down time? Is it 8 hours, 12 hours, 24 hours? Or is it tied to how many chapters you've played?
  11. It's also worth noting that Grandmaster has better Magic, Skill, Speed & Resistance caps, as well as better Magic, Skill & Resistance growths. This helps Leo as he is more of a magic user than a physical one.
  12. Do the accessories show up in all battles, or just My Castle battles?
  13. awesome! great to know. I plan on making Hana a Great Lord once she reaches lv10 to help with her durability, but I would like to bring her back to Trueblade for the skills
  14. This seems like it would actually be very useful for training units that are weak/behind. 1 hit with the pebble won't kill them, but will weaken them enough for the weaker unit to finish off and gain experience.
  15. If I reclass a unit with the Exalt Brand to Great Lord, then use a heart seal to change class again, can I reclass back into Great Lord using a heart seal?
  16. They also sell replica versions of their weapons at the armory. I too have all 4 of the current FE Amiibos, and plan to use them in all of my play-throughs. Especially Ike, as he is my favorite (as you can probably tell from my portrait).
  17. I think you misunderstood, you CAN just stick a 32 GB card in your Fates New 3DS. If you want anything bigger like 64 GB, it requires a tiny bit of extra work.
  18. If you have a N3DS the stock firmware recognizes up to 32GB, can't speak for the old 3DS. Also, like Hunter Saltblood said, you can using even larger cards with just a little bit of extra work. In regards to OP's question, I'll reinforce what others have said. Unless you're some sort of collector, you're much better off buying one version physically or digitally($40) then the two additional paths as DLC for $20 each. Then you get the added bonus items to top it off. As for them sharing DLC, I would have to guess that you would be able to. I believe the game just does a check to see if it's on the SD card, and if it's there, it's there. I don't have the game yet to test this though.
  19. I was going to use the 2 dread scrolls/ebon wings you get for free on my Amiibo units (I have all four), since that's the only way they're able reclass to get additional skills. But I'm tempted to use a dread scroll on Kaze, I feel he's a really good contender for it, plus I don't like the way elite ninjas look (those spikes on their arms are weird looking). I know you can get more through DLC, but that one doesn't come out for another month after the release of the game.
  20. Just curious, how much effort did you put into him before benching him? I ask because I plan on using Samurai Odin in Hard/Classic. edit: I thought I'd expand on how I plan on using Samurai Odin to perhaps help OP with their decisions. I feel like you need to reclass him ASAP, and I mean as soon as you recruit him, give him the Heart Seal that you can purchase from the vendor. That way he starts getting the speed he needs and he can use the early chapters and paralogue 1 to get his weapon rank up. If you reclass him to Samurai, you're better off keeping him in that class tree. I plan on having a little fun with him and making a crit stacking build, utilizing his personal skill (+10 crit with forged weapon), roundhouse (+10 crit), ogre strike (+20 crit on PP), +10 crit with Trueblade bonus, +25 crit with Killing Edge +1. That's 65 crit + whatever he gets from his skill stat, which could be another 15 or so.
  21. Are you able to buy multiple copies of their replica weapons? Or is it just one per weapon?
  22. I think it is a great idea, as it would also allow us to establish our own set of rules to keep the game balanced and fun.
  23. In terms of difficulty. I plan on playing Hard/Classic my first time through all the games, starting with Conquest. For my first play-through, I just want to keep it mildly challenging, so I can concentrate a little more on the story and progression. Birthright and Revelation on Hard does not concern me at all, but I'm a little unsure about the difficulty Hard Conquest.
  24. I'm starting on Hard/Classic for everything. I pre-ordered the special edition and will be plaything them in this order: Conquest -> Birthright -> Revelation. I will probably go back and attempt them on Lunatic/Classic eventually.
